We all ignore the trench

Living in a land of horrible absurdity for more than a year will give you some ideas. When you read Russian news every day you can't help but think of horror podcasts' universes. Politicans declaring war with Satan, lots of people gleefully diving back to Soviet times, school teachers and parents reporting children to the forces, mass hysteria in media about "Ukrainian fascists" and 1000 and 1 reasons why Ukraine must be destroyed, declaring people soldiers at the moment the writ is sent.

So I had this idea about a fan podcast (is it a thing?) in WTTNV universe, a broadcast of a local station, Nulgorsk.fm. A couple of hosts are chatting, reading local news, taking calls from listeners, and casually painting a picture of absolute insanity around. And at the end of each episode there's a question for the dear listeners - what is fiction and what is the absolutely real Russian news. 

And a second one, set in TMA universe. a collection of statements and episodes from local institute (with an unpronounceable abbreviation of course) similar to the Magnus institute. The employees are investigating various cases and trying to sort out genuine encounters from general madness around. And damn, what a job.

Jonathan Sims wants to know everything about Cecil. He is physically biting his tongue to stop himself from asking questions.

Jon does not really understand what the Sexyman Polls are (the Spiral would probably have a better idea than him tbh) but is glad for Cecil anyway.

Jonah was busy with his work (which he loves). He totally isn’t bothered that no one thought to include him.

Red eye podcast fellow: 

Nikignik thinks this Cecil is charming and listens to his radio show when not broadcasting his own show. He is fond of the Night Vale. 

Nikignik is supportive of Cecil winning the Tumblr Sexyman Polls.

(Xyzikxyz finds out about this through Nikignik and becomes obsessed with Cecil’s radio show)

Yellow eye podcast fellows: 

Arthur would think Cecil seems nice from listening to him but would throw something at him and run away if they ever met in person. John is wary of this Cecil...entity but does not hold any resentment. 

Neither Arthur nor John know or care about what the Tumblr Sexyman polls are.

....Kayne, on the other hand, knows exactly what the Tumblr Sexyman Polls are. He voted for Reigan because he thought it would be funny, then switched to Cecil in the final round because he thought it would be funny and has no sense of loyalty.

i might end up getting into welcome to the night vale. like. i dont know what it is about. always saw it one way or another. a friend of mine likes it. and i have most of tomorrow free so i will use that time to find wtf wttnv is about

I gave in today and started listening to Welcome to Night Vale. They were right, Cecil is in fact iconic.

First episode and this dude is already simping for the scientist. The episodes are also really short and addicting.

Switching the dashboard over from follows to the for you tab is always p funny and it pushes some super specific topics from the smallest amount of likes lol

It is absolutely a rip off of welcome to night vale. I love that podcast, and I do a thing that when I listen to an episode I replace characters in my mind with egs ones as I see fit. The obvious one being putting Tedd on the role of Carlos the scientist, who studies "Science".

It's funny how I could tell it was that sort of tone, either TMA or WttNV, just based on the memes and such lol
