Answer and Explanation: The states that were part of the Wild West were Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, California, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, North and South Dakota, parts of Oklahoma, parts of Kansas, and the western part of Texas. Many of these states still celebrate their western heritage through events like rodeos.

New York naturally grows a rat tail. Way back when, his hair was long enough for a full ponytail, but sometime after the revolutionary war, he cut it off. In time, his tail grew back

welp- i’ve finished the florida drawing! and it has color- it looks a little dull in color but it’s not the worst :)

also including a sketch because it honestly looks better than the colored version

i imagine he has more scratches and scars (probably from various encounters with several animals, including gators)

I don’t think I’ve never made a post about it before but I’m a huge fan of Ben Brainard, he’s a great comedian and I especially enjoy his state series (wttt), especially Texas and Austin’s dynamic so here’s a couple things I personally head canon:

- Texas has an innate fear that he will one day wake up blue blue hair and piercings because the hat fell off in the middle of the night and Austin did Austin things

- California: *viscously trying to grab cowboy hat away from Austin* DON’T BRING HIM BACK- PLEASE- PLEASEEE-

- Texas has like an agreement except for himself- Like Austin gets Thursdays and Tuesdays and Texas gets the rest of the week yk

- Texas: “Look I hate to say it but sometimes, SOMETIMES, your food is.. okay.” - Austin: *beaming* “Really? 🥹”

- Alaska and Austin are polar opposites (quite literally) which frequently results in very interesting conversations, however Alaska definitely favors Austin over Texas purely because Austin isn’t as much of a jerk

ok here we go, as promised, queerplatonic floui headcanons!

*proceeds to sit and stare at the computer for like ten minutes, motionless*

ah-hah ok, the headcanons have loaded, there they are under the cut:

they know each other so so well. they can almost always predict what the other is thinking or planning, and most often they're the first to notice when the other is feeling sad or annoyed or whatever. they just. they get each other

you know that butterflies feeling you get when you're thinking about a crush or whatever? (I dunno, I'm told that's what happens when you allos get crushes) there's little to none of that between Loui and Flo. they're so comfortable with each other that there's no reason for nervousness, or quick heart rates, or whatever else you alloromantic people claim you feel

Loui is chill like 90% of the time, right? but he absolutely cannot keep his cool when he's talking to Spain, because he's just so furious that Spain was, um, not the best parent to Florida

Florida is a bit romance repulsed, and Loui is so so careful about making sure that nothing they do makes Florida uncomfortable (like, they cuddle and all that, but no kissing on the lips, but Florida does like it when Loui kisses his forehead or fingers- and there are just so many little things that Loui makes sure Florida likes before he does them)

they call each other "Floridile" and "Louigator" (found this one in my notes, I apparently came up with it like months ago and completely forgot)

when Florida gets a new hyper fixation, he's always so excited to go over and tell Loui all about it, and Loui just sits and watches him with the dopiest smile because he's so happy to see Florida so excited

Loui struggles with self doubt sometimes, and when he does, Florida always goes right to him. he'll try to distract Loui with TV or crime or goofy stories, but if Loui's not feeling it, he'll just sit there. y'know, to show that he'll always be there for him

they're absolutely codependent, but, like, in a cute way

I feel like I’m in a CA/NY mood, so why not give you some hc’s???

-“I hate everyone but you” trope

-York and Cal go traveling together. Whether it’s to a different country or to another state. They mostly go to Paris or New York City, but they’ve been to many others. I can just imagine them walking around, holding hands and Cal goes, “ohmygod! The Eiffel Tower!” “No way?! In Paris?! I nevah would’ve guessed!”

-they cuddle anywhere and almost all of the time. Whenever they get the chance, really. They’ll cuddle on the couch or maybe ontop of a building.

-cal has ONE photo of York smiling and it is the background of his phone. York takes every chance to try and delete it off of his phone but his plans have failed.

-New York always sleeps in fetal position to keep warmth and to protect himself. He used to do this when he was younger and now it’s just become a habit.

-Cal likes to collect little silly objects that he finds when out with York. Whether he has to buy it, steal it, or just pick it up, he will have it. (most of them are little bird sculptures)

-neither of them like the sound of fireworks, but they like the picture, so they usually just stay inside where it’s muffled (they both have PTSD) to watch the southern and high western idiots light fireworks whil Gov freaks out about literally everything going on. He would have to stop Florida from “riding a firework to the moon”. (it

-Physical touch but also words play a huge role. They have to know if the other loves them back the same, so words of love and appreciation are crucial because they both have trust issues.

-York can only fall asleep when he’s with cal. If not, he just feels too alone and cold. He feels too much like his old self.

-literally the most powerful couple ever.

-Cal will imitate Yorks accent to try and be more aggressive. York will wince at the horrible pronunciations of the words. “Okay, that’s enough. Please stop, B.” “Yous bettah- huh?”

-NY never stops moving, always fiddling with something. Cal’s flannel buttons, his ring (married??!!), his shirt, etc. Mans will be moving even if he is exhausted.

- tea and coffee duo

- “You think we’re in love in every universe?” “I bet ya we are.”

- York helps him answer financial questions, but when York gets too “full of himself” (he really doesn’t, he just gets carried away) cal always says, “Woah, settle down, dude. Your acting like you didn’t crash the economy back in the 1930’s.” “Okay Mr. Movie Star- Oh wait, what evah happened to that career? Still hasn’t taken off, huh?” “HEY!-“

-York frequently steals Cal’s shirts and sweaters because he likes baggy clothes. “I’m vegan and I’m American!” As an example of what one of the shirts says. 😭

Fluffy and angsty headcanons of Texas/Oklahoma because why not

Texas and Oklahoma have dates where they ride around through the mountains and woods on their horses. They'll walk through the streams with their pant legs pulled up, splashing water at each other and dragging the other into kisses. By the time they are back its late at night (if they didn't spend the night outside) and are covered in dirt, giggling and shoving each other like teenagers in love

They have many fights at meetings so as to not fight at home. They may love each other lots, but they still have their differences. It's better off fighting at a meeting (where its pretty much supposed to happen, to Gov's dismay) then fighting at home around the kids and making their house toxic. They always leave the meeting together and are seen with happy faces, so it works for them. (Sometimes this isn't the case, but it usually is)

Whenever Texas gets drunk, he becomes very sappy. He will literally waltz Oklahoma around the house and kiss every inch of him that he can. Throwing praises at Oklahoma for being able to handle his dumbass. When he's super drunk he starts talking to Oklahoma in Spanish

Oklahoma is the only one who has heard Texas speak Spanish for a long time (the last time being right after becoming a state and letting his people know). Texas feels so safe around him to not be afraid to talk in Spanish

Oklahoma has collections of wood carvings that Texas made throughout the decades, it was the first courting gift that Texas gave him and every anniversary he gets another one

They would so have matching belts, Oklahoma has Texas's state flower on his belt buckle and Texas has Oklahoma's

They would watch old Wild West films together, Texas would be the one to talk the whole time and calling characters stupid when Oklahoma is just combing through his hair and not paying attention

Texas combs Oklahoma's hair everyday; every time he walks up, takes a shower, comes back from the field, and gets ready for bed. He picks out different ribbons to braid into his hair, I can so see him picking them out at the store or getting them made for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma every week will make a new bouquet of flowers for Texas, picking them from their garden and making them all pretty for him. Texas gets embarrassed every time and acts all manly but he really does love them

Their house is always loud; Texas is in the kitchen making a mess, the kids are running around with their mud covered shoes, the dogs are running everywhere, somehow a pig got in, and Oklahoma is just making one of the little ones giggle

Whenever Texas gets on Oklahoma's nerves, Oklahoma makes him sleep in the barn. Not that Texas minds, of course. He's already slept in there multiple times just because. Though that won't stop him from being a little upset about having to leaving his comfy bed to go sleep on hay bales. (Oklahoma gives him a pillow and blanket)

Texas is still learning to be and accepting and good parent with Oklahoma's help. He doesn't want to end up hurting his kids or for his kids not to like him, not like how he was raised, so he's learning. Oklahoma is learning as well, but he is a little farther ahead than Texas in his knowledge

Texas has a bad back that constantly cracks from the shit he’s put it/been through. Oklahoma massages his back and helps him stand up and walk when it is really bad. Sometimes Texas can’t walk or move it without agonizing pain so he’ll spend the day in bed while Oklahoma takes care of him. (Sometimes his back is just too stiff for him to move). He cries a lot on those days from embarrassment, anger, sadness, etc because his body is “ruined.” (in his eyes, he is weak on those days. Oklahoma makes sure to tell him otherwise with firm and loving words.)

Oklahoma gets really bad migraines that leave him stuck in bed. He always tries to get up and trudge through it but Texas forces his ass back into bed each time. He'll spend the day in his dark bedroom, warm tea, soup, and pain meds resting on his bedside table, and in quiet. Texas makes sure to keep the kids away from Oklahoma and quiet/out of the house so Oklahoma can heal and won't be in more pain. Sometimes Oklahoma will drag Texas into the bed (if its a slow free day) and latch onto him, refusing to let him get up. (not like Texas wants too/will)

Texas is really good at sewing, he keeps it a secret to others but he will always fix Oklahoma's ripped shirts. He always teases him for being clumsy but doesn't mind at all. It's not just Oklahoma but his kids too.
