Did you peep what Storm said to Iceman in Marvel Voices X-Men? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And thoughts on X-Men Red?

THIS WEEK'S STORM
😭 This sent me baaaaaad lmfao. This short story was so well written. The dialogue, the creativity in their powers' expression, the added layers to established lore, and message of acceptance? A must-read.
X-men Red? Whew, where do I start.
Rivalry
Tumblr media
Storm finally has an opponent on her level in terms of power, influence, and will. Genesis is truly a formidable opponent in so many ways. For example, X-men Red #14 starts off with Genesis reviving Arakko from an apparent slumber state, it's described as breathing life into them. This single act marked the start of the war. Awakening Arakko should be seen as an act of benevolence due to its life-giving nature, but it's the exact opposite. It was a signal to draw blood and that Arakkii glory is awaiting for those who do. It reinvigorated Arrakkii with thirst and zeal of icons and legends and of becoming one in this test of strength. These promises split Arakko.
Battle of Will and Ideals
Tumblr media
Storm's reign is described as the "Storm era." She lead, she listened, she learned, and even stepped aside. Instead of ruling through brute force and hierarchy, Storm's reign was defined by forging Brotherhood as equals and freedom. Free to disagree, free to prepare, free to explore, and free adjust to this new peace and make it their own. No prisons or violent repression at the whim of superiors. Yet war still came. Storm finally enters the field herself, and she showcases her power and easily takes out the opposing forces, destroying monuments honoring the sacrifice of Apocalypse and Genesis. This destructive use of her power ironically conveyed her ideals of peace and preserving life: the freedom of possibility, to be more than who you can destroy and who you reign supreme over. She can easily kill the fleeing Arakkii, but letting them retreat showcased the strength of her will and ideals even in war. This is Ororo's strength and her rallying call.
Final Reflections?
Tumblr media
Sunspot is black again, lol. The fans contacted the new artist after the last issue and the past artist's depiction of Roberto. He was made aware and is appreciative of the positive feedback.
Apocalypse is returning as shown on the cover of Immortal X-men.
Isca the Unbeaten resides in a neutral zone, which was rumored to be a sanctuary, and her power over victory makes it hers and indefensible for now...(her power makes allegiance impossible, even to land)
Then there's the looming threat of Orchis, who is the final boss after the civil war.
Future predictions for the war?
Tumblr media
There's going to be a lot of sacrifices that I don't think we're ready for. In a battle of strength, Storm and Genesis will destroy the planet just by battling out at full power, so this war will lean on strategy and demonstration of principals at crucial points. Just like we've seen with Storm. The real challenge is seeing how far Storm's Brotherhood and Genesis' Regime will go to end the war and what it will require.

I hope these two especially burn Orchis to the ground for murdering their husbands:

I’m still so devastated and salty over how awful and problematic that Gala was. ’ll never forgive them for taking them away:

the reason s.w.o.r.d./x-men red has been so good is that al ewing understands one very simple but vital aspect of storm's character, and that is that she is absolutely the coolest person of all time

Panel redraw of the gorgeous X-Men Red #11, because this scene lives in my heart. Roberto's need for an emotional support human rocket may have brought them together, but if anything keeps them together (or drives them apart), it will be their matching maladaptive responsibility complexes.
