Cold: sweet with a sharp, drying, aftertaste. Dominant flavour is fake berry, like candy.

Hot: milder flavour, aftertaste is gone.

Rating: IMPROVED.

Ok, finally came across 2 of these at Target...this morning, I'm trying my first of a new #Rockstar line of ripoffs straight from the #ReignBangTrain, this is the #Thermogenic #NeonBlast flavor from their new #Thermo line, which the only difference between this and the #XDurance line is that this one is more chock full of #BCAAAminos, which means jack shit to me, since I don't use these for a workout regiment. It has #GreenTeaExtract in it, which I can taste first and foremost, and it's a good flavor....and does it's part to attempt to cover up the abundance of #FakeChocolateFunk up in this bitch. Look...flavor isn't bad, but it's not super good either, it's obvious that this is a #SugarFree/#Diet drink, but whatever at this point. Would take if offered, but wouldn't seek on my own again. #LowYay. Does anyone with ADHD have a complicated relationship with caffeine?

As far as I can remember, caffeine never did anything for me. I come from a line of people who could have a pot of coffee and go to bed without a problem. While, in hindsight, it wasn't a good idea for me to be drinking coffee when I was elementary school aged, I don't recall ever getting the jitters or alertness from it. By the time I was in middle school and high school when I started having energy drinks and shots like 5 Hour Energy, I still don't remember it doing anything substantial for me. If I didn't feel that different, it would make me drowsy at worse.

Now that I'm in my late 20s, it's much the same - though the chances of me feeling sluggish and like I need to take a nap is turned up more. It's a gamble for the most part, even after a good can of Bang or Rockstar XDurance with 300mg of the stuff. I've known this for years now with how I react to it, but I still go back to it just for the taste. Plus, who doesn't love a good cup of coffee in the morning or an iced latte in the afternoon?

I'm not sure if I just have this expectation that it's going to be different next time and I'll finally get that boost or alertness others talk about, rather than wanting to sleep like I do now while I'm having my first cup of coffee today. Even now, part of me wants to go on an energy drink haul and then hit Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks for my usual with one or two espresso shots - in spite of being groggy and knowing things won't change.

Is anyone like this too? I'm not sure if this is what people mean by self-medicating if I'm being honest.
