Nekoma falling head over heels for their manager? Yes.
It was just a coincidence that you were transferring to a different school in the Tokyo area. It was just a coincidence that you happened to like volleyball. It was just a coincidence that the school in question was Nekoma, which was closest to your guardian's work.
What wasn't a coincidence however, was getting kicked off the girl's volleyball team for retaliating against some girls who were picking on you for coming into the school year late.
So now your only way to really do anything volleyball related was to do it outside of school or become a manager for the other team.
Nekoma hasn't had a manager in who knows how long so of course they jump at the chance when you are somehow brought along as one of Kuroo's many friends.
He was able to convince you with the allure of skipping class for games as well as more help with homework and who would pass up good grades and the chance to play volleyball? Not you.
Kuroo has always had an eye for you, believe it or not. He is a logical person, even underneath all that mischief and wild flair. He had a way with words and an even better way with figuring people out. So it's no wonder he would attempt to talk to the new person who suddenly appeared at Nekoma one day. Even less surprising was him falling face first when talking to you.
All you did was help him when his school supplies got trashed from a particular nasty fall he took early in your time at Nekoma, and that was it for him. He was stuck to you like a parasite despite the different classes and year. He was hooked.
He was a logical person until he wasn't. Such as when Kenma oversleeps on purpose to avoid playing games, or when Yaku gets on his nerves for the nth time that day. He was logical with certain people, and perhaps a bit of a menace with others. He isn't really sure where you fit in his us vs them mentality and he isn't sure if he wants to find out. Not when you glance at him while walking through the hallway that sends a chill up his spine, or when your arms or legs brush together when you are studying together that has him shoving his head into his pillows at night, or even that one time when you had shoved him and you into a locker that was much too small for both of you so you could avoid the girls on the volleyball team. Yeah. Perhaps it's better if he doesn't figure you out just yet.
And it wasn't long till he began bringing up the idea of manager, even more so since you got kicked off the girl's volleyball team.
So now you are being introduced to the team as Kuroo practically vibrates with joy because his favorite people are coming together for something he loves.
And it's not long till Yamamoto tries to approach you. Despite his rather intimidating demeanor, he is a sweetheart and a bunch of nerves at heart. He could only keep his eyes off the ground when talking to you once and so you simply gave him the space he needed. He was obviously overwhelmed and somehow, this was all he needed to have confirmation with himself that he liked you.
Just like the Humpty Dumpty duo at Karasuno, he can be a bit overbearing at times. You can't seem to exactly shake him off even when he is practically dying on the floor.
You need to refill the water bottles? He can help if you let him! You need to help plan the team schedule? He has the entire night! You need to pick up some groceries? He's already got it!
You know who is just like Yamamoto but x10? Lev. He is such a sweetheart but goodness gracious sometimes he needs to take a step back otherwise he will take all your personal space.
He first approached you about a week after you joining the team and it was because he almost fell onto you while trying to get his water bottle. He had apologized, of course, but not without taking note of how nice it felt to hug you.
Lev, as you learn later, has always been the affectionate sort and it grew from his older sister, Alisa, who would constantly dote on him. You met her much later during nationals, which you had attempted Lev to try and set her up with you but it resulted in absolutely dreaded failure because Lev immediately passed out upon the request and Kuroo, upon hearing said request, attempted to take Alisa's place.
Lev, as he later learns, is that he developed much more than a stupid puppy crush. He isn't sure exactly when it started. Maybe when he first met you and how he almost crushed you under himself, or maybe a bit later on when you two accidentally got locked inside the gym because you were practicing late together, so you two talked until dawn. It could've even been the instance when you taught him how to do a floater serve and he clearly remembers how your hands held his and your body up against his back as you focused on the ball instead of his red face.
It was from then on you didn't escape practice without Lev trying to glomp you at least once, and you aren't entirely sure if you hate it or not.
Someone who does hate it would be Yaku, who can't seem to stop yelling at Lev each time he goes rushing to you for help with his spikes and receives.
The first time Yaku interacted with you was a little after Lev did, with Yaku scolding the boy for trying to "run you over" (you could probably tackle and eat Lev alive if you really wanted to but you didn't mention it).
Yaku has told you that you are too soft on the boy and he needs more discipline if he wants to be good, but you honestly don't have the heart to be as mean to him as you would be with actual teammates.
Yaku, quite frankly, finds it infuriating how soft you are with Lev, and the team in general, but he won't say anything about it if it means that he gets to call you in the middle of the night after a particularly rough practice to hangout. If it means he gets to see you look at him with such a soft smile on your face that he seldom sees during school, he is more than willing to let it slide.
And if you two accidentally get trapped in the storage room one day, it isn't exactly his fault if you two decide to use each other as warmth until they unlock the door. His face was red anyway, he's sure that you won't think twice about it.
Fukunaga on the other hand, is someone who probably over thinks every single little thing you do in relation to him.
It was around the time you met Inouka that you met him. You were helping Inouka with rounding up the stray balls when you had responded to one of Inouka's questions about your volleyball skills with a joke (as you often do because why go into detail about how often you had beef with your own teammates?!). It was then that Fukunaga had fired a quip back and turned the question once more onto you had you two finally learned of each other's existence.
Perhaps it's why you two are so aware of every little thing either of you say.
You said hi to him, does that mean anything? Oh you helped him with his serves, that must mean something right?
However, just because he is prone to overthinking (just as you are with him) doesn't mean it's his whole character. More often than not he is trying to come up with jokes for you and is probably the one you talk with the most if Kuroo wouldn't constantly stalk (he doesn't actually and he swears by this but Yaku and Kenma find it funny as it is something to hold over his head) you.
It's odd to say the least. He is usually the most detached of all the people in Nekoma's team and yet despite this, you find yourself absorbed in conversation after conversation with him. It was a matter of time till he started looking for you in every single room, unconsciously or not.
Liking someone is a foreign concept, especially in the way Fukunaga sees you and so you can't blame him when his jokes slowly turn to pick up lines every so often or he replies to your quips with compliments to throw you off. It's not like you can blame him either when he decides to try and plan your conversations ahead of time so he can catch you at every single front. Perhaps even get you flustered in the same way you do to him he so often finds.
Someone who doesn't show his emotions, however, is Kenma, who you've never really gotten a good read on.
He was perhaps one of the last ones that you had truly met before things kicked off with the team.
You'll admit, the way you met him wasn't the best. It was after practice and it was particularly stormy that night. You had an umbrella but a certain somebody didn't.
Kuroo, bless his heart, had left earlier before the storm came full blast to get something back home, and so Kenma was planning to walk through the rain until you offered him your umbrella.
You had more than once ran through the rain because of practice running late and so you thought nothing of it, but instead of him going with it, he simply took it and glued next to your side until you got home yourself.
It was an awkward walk as you stood shoulder to shoulder, and even more awkward when you got home as he bid you goodnight like some boyfriend and walked home; umbrella still in hand.
It was a Friday and so you did not see him or your umbrella until Monday, and so when he gave it back during class it was quite the sight. Yet, he did not seem fazed from all the stares and whispers. Not a bit.
You don't think you'll ever be able to read his expressions.
Him on the other hand, finds you quite the enigma. You were known as some wild dog since you had attacked three of the members on the volleyball team at Nekoma your very first day, and yet had acted so kindly, if not reserved, as a manager.
Even more so when he saw the way some other members looked or spoke of you.
He caught on quickly with the other's feelings for you, and he wasn't sure you'd ever come to realize, but that's okay. It's perfectly fine if it means he can take you to the rooftop to hangout without any pressure of another. The moment he perhaps truly fell head over heels, however, was during their summer camp that Karasuno was invited to. You had met Shoyo and hit it off, and he, somehow, was able to convince you to teach him how to serve. Something perhaps all of Karasuno + Kenma knew how bad Shoyo was at it.
It was then he fell, he thinks. To see someone so straight laced and aggressive during school hours willingly help someone with a smile on their face? Yeah. He fell hard.
And he struggles to show this to you and not others, especially considering how Kuroo has attached himself at your hip and Lev at your arm. Especially considering how Yaku always tries to find time to hang out with you and Fukunaga talks to you all the time. It infuriates him to no end but yet you still have patience for him even after all that socializing. You still have time to watch as he beats a level you were stuck on. You still have time to get him that game he has been looking at and for once, he doesn't mind the company.
He really doesn't mind, even if the side effect comes with wanting to kiss you breathless and have you look at him the way he looks at you.

hey, I saw you mention at one point you had a cat named Nimitz! may I ask what inspired this name? (speaking as someone who used to have a bunny named Nimitz)
Ah, the Terror of the Underbrush, may she walk in quiet darkness. She and her adopted sisters were all named after admirals-- we had Halsey and Yamamoto-- but Nim was also a nod to Honor Harrington, which I was reading when she showed up when I was twelve. Appropriately, she turned out to be a shoulder cat.

I love Malice and Vice, and I loved Hazy and Yama, and Kitten Little before them, but I'll never have a cat better than the Terror.

Opposites Really Do Attract
Kenma Kozume (Haikyu) x (GN) Reader
**Genre: Fluff **Word Count: 401
Nekoma’s setter wasn’t known for being the most outgoing person. Honestly when it came to interacting with people outside his teammates (and Hinata), he pretty much avoided it. Even with them, he still tended to be pretty reserved not talking much more than necessary. Knowing this, it was definitely quite the shock to the team when Kenma announced that he was seeing someone. It was even more of a shock when he brought you to practice one day.
Everyone was eager to get to know the person who stole their setter’s heart. They quickly rushed over to you only to be greeted by a small squeak. You end up hiding behind Kenma at first. Slowly coming out as they introduced themselves. After introductions they carried on practice. When first meeting people you were shy until you were comfortable, then you would become very outgoing.
This became a new routine for you two. You would go with Kenma to practice and then go do homework and game until you had to leave for dinner. The longer this went on the more you got to know the team. Though you were still fairly shy around them, you did open up some. Lev and Yamamoto always seemed to make you laugh. You wouldn’t say it, but these boys were really starting to grow on you.
One day while the boys were packing up and cleaning the gym. They had a practice match with Fukurodani, who you had met a couple times now, but were still very shy around. Some of the boys from both teams were talking, when they spotted you over with Kenma. Akasshi pointed out how it was kinda funny Kenma ended up with such an introverted person seeing as usually opposites attract. He meant no harm by the statement but it made you feel sad. Questioning if you were good enough for Kenma. When you noticed your boyfriend smiling.
Kenma was smiling at the comment, because if only they all knew the truth. You were only shy and introverted around them because they intimidated you. Once you opened up though, you were just like Hinata. Loud, passionate, and never stopped talking. You were a whole different person when it was just the two of you. And he loved that about you. He couldn’t help but smile at Akasshi’s statement because how wrong yet how right he was. Opposites really do attract.

Yamagishi and Takuya were talking normally, just hanging out at Yamagishi’s apartment.
Everything was fine, until you walked over and grabbed something from the shelf under the tv.
Having to bend over, normally everything would be fine. If Yamagishi didn't catch Takuya catching glances of you as you were bending down.
Giving Takuya a small warning kick to the ankle as a little “Stop” without saying it verbally, Takuya tried his hardest to not look.
Even as you walked back to your room Takuya had to fight the urge to stare, not like it wasn’t something he did often. Giving how you two are dating.
But Yamagishi didn't know, and even if he did, he'd still be furious.
Ever since Takuya told you about his feelings for you, you both promised to never tell Yamagishi.
Who you two could already see the blood boiling once he found out.
Sneaking in time to see each other when Takuya came over, or asking Yamagishi if you could come with him when he went to Takuya’s place or when he hung out with him.
However, after the small incident Takuya made sure to be more weary not leaving much alone time between you and your boyfriend.
Which means you didn’t get to see Takuya for long periods of time.
———— (timeskip, I'm a lil lazy.)
Yamagishi was working, you and Takuya were hanging out with you in the house you and your older brother shared.
Cuddling each other closely in bed, without a worry in the world.
Takuya pulled you in close and slid his hand down “I haven’t seen you in a long time, Y/N.” you let out a breathy gasp.
“Gishi gets back today, he could be here soon.” you told Takuya to leave earlier, but you had fallen asleep and he was just too comfortable to move away.
“Please.. Y/N.” Takuya gave your ass a light squeeze, whispering into your ear.
“f..fine.” With that Takuya quickly undressed you and himself, the two of you quickly intertwined lips together and broke into a heated makeout session.
Takuya broke the kiss and started to leave hickeys over your neck and shoulder grabbing onto your hips and enjoying the sweet moans leaving your mouth.
He moved his hand down and squished the soft plush of your ass making you moan loudly.
Takuya turned you around and made you face ass up, grabbing a bottle of lube from your night stand drawer.
“Oh wow, this is half empty. You’ve been enjoying yourself while I was gone haven't you?” he laughed to himself seeing how embarrassed you got.
Covering his fingers in the half used up lube, Takuya started prepping your hole and shoved his fingers in. Moving them quickly, making you let out the most porn worthy moans before hitting your prostate.
“T..takuyaaa~!” your dick was leaking precum at the sensation, Takuya added another finger.
“Calm down, we might be alone but if Yamagishi comes home he's going to hear you sweet thing..”
You nodded your head and tried to cover your mouth but with the way he was moving around you, he could feel how close you were to cumming.
Feeling how you were tightening around his fingers , he pulled out. “hnghh!” you whined loudly and tears welled up in your eyes at your restricted release.
He put lube on his cock and slowly shoved it in, spreading you apart and enjoying the sweet sounds coming out of your mouth.
He didn’t care if Yamagishi came in the house and heard this, the feeling of your tight hole and the sounds of your sweet moans.. he was so close to cumming.
Hitting your prostate over and over again until both of you came, Takuya getting so lost he came inside you “ah.. shit.. sorry baby, I didn’t mean to..”
“It's fine..” you were out of breath, the sticky sensation inside you feeling a bit weird.
Takuya grabbed both of your clothes which he practically ripped off earlier, he handed you a towel to clean yourself and the sheets.
You and Takuya were mid dressed when you heard the door open and a gasp, followed by angry yelling.
Even if he hadn’t seen anything, seeing his worn out little brother with hickeys all over the place and a shirtless Takuya. Yamagishi already figured out what happened.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU.”
To say your older brother was BEYOND furios that day was an understatement, he ignored you and BANNED Takuya from your home.
Only accepting you and Takuya dating after you begged him crying to him.

Worst of You — Kuroo Tetsurou
Tumblr media
warnings: afab!reader, cheating, manipulative kuroo, angst.
based off this song
Tumblr media
You loved the memories that flashed through your head while you stayed in the dark living room seated in the sofa, staring at the clear drink in your hand, waiting for the arrival of your boyfriend on your shared apartment.
Holding dearly every demonstration of affection and love words in carefree afternoons, with no work, no games. Remembering the times after several tiring days of training, when Kuroo pulled her closer and laying on the bed, asking for cuddles and kisses.
Your fingers running from his back to his tense shoulders and his completely uneven hair, feeling the stress going away little by little as the gentle massage calmed him down.
Your phone screen displayed texts from the old Nekoma groupchat, with the well known names of the old team and new names of your college classmates. Your eyes flickered to the screen as the time changed, now 10 pm, while the white kitty rubbed his head on your thigh.
Your attention in the little furball was broken when you heard the door opening, making you got up and walk in direction of the messy raven haired man, that smiled briefly when he saw you. He took off his coat, leaving it on the chair, just like his keys and wallet on the table.
“I'm home” he said, holding your waist and kissing your lips quickly, breaking it apart and crouching down to pet Killua, who meowed weakly in satisfaction. Kuroo start walking to the hallway, heading to the bedroom.
“How was train today?” you asked, sitting on the bed while you could see Kuroo not even making a move to look up from his phone while he took off his shirt.
“Well, the setter is getting used to me already, so I'll say today was a progress,” Kuroo answered, taking his sleeping pants from the closet, typing out something. “How was your day?”
Shuffling with the sleeve of you hoodie, you shrugged your shoulders, leaving Killua to sit on your lap. “Not that good, to be honest. I think-“
“That's great,” he cut you off before you could finish the sentence, brows pulling together as you stared at him in disblief.
“What?” the offended tone of your voice made him look up from the phone briefly.
“I'm just joking,” he smirked, typing one last thing before locking his phone and walking closer to you, who still looked at him with a glare. “'m sorry, I thought that that could lift your mood.”
Kuroo crouched down in front of you to keep a eye contact, hands moving to hold the side of your face and he brushed his finger on your cheeck before any argument started. Killua lifted his paws — the claws showing clearly by the man's proximity to his owner — but Kuroo rolled his eyes, grabbing the white cat and putting him on the chair next to them.
Plopping his body on the bed, pillow lifting his head just a little, Kuroo held your hand, holding up his other arm and pulling you on you gently to lay down with him — which you did — while resting your head on his shoulder, hand holding the black tshirt he was using.
“How about you tell me what happened, hm? I'm all ears,” he said, fingers running through her hair.
With a weak sigh, you start to tell him what happened at the univeristy, how difficult was the current subject you had applied to and it was making you even more stressed with how rude everyone was, only to receive a small hum in answer to show he was listening, even though you knew he wasn't — because when you looked up slightly, you could see the brightness of the screen reflecting on his eyes.
You held his shirt tighter on your grip, but continued talking, the words dying out eventually, stopping completely after a few seconds.
You could only close your eyes, hoping that the sleep would come to you, feeling Kuroo unwrap his arms from around you and turn his back, still typing on his phone.
++++
Opening your eyes you could see Kuroo with a heavy breath, showing he was fast asleep, your body cold from the distance betwen you. Taking the covers from your body and getting up carefully, you made your way to the living room. The small steps of Killua following your every move as you closed the bedroom door.
The lights from the living Tokyo made it able for you to move around without turning on the lights, and you were quick to find your phone resting on the arm of the couch, but you couldn't help but notice the mess by the front door Kuroo had left when he arrived.
With another sigh, you fixed the shoes position and turned to his clothes on the table. Your hands grabbed onto his wallet carefully, and the missing object that was there the night before made you snap your eyes shut and shake your head, closing the wallet with force and leaving on the same place as before, grabbing his coat and hanging on the back of the chair — however the unknown perfume made you scrunch your nose.
Closing one of your hands onto a fist, you walked back to the couch, grabbing the drink from the coffee table and drinking the rest of it, trying to stop the thoughts that were running all around your head, only to hear a disapproving meow coming from Killua, who stared at you with his bright blue eyes.
The screen from your own phone lit up, catching your attention. The small message from Yaku shinning in front of your eyes. “Are you okay?”
It was a simple question, but it made your breath stop on your throat once more, your fingers hovering over the keyboard, not knowing what you should answer. You started asking yourself if he knew the truth, if Kuroo had told him. If that was the case, you couldn't talk to him about that, too afraid that Yaku's loyalty to his old Captain was stronger than their friendship, and that question was only a trap that Kuroo himself had staged.
Pressing your lips together, you could finally type. “Yes, why?”
That was a really big pause to answer
are you sure youre alr?
You: yes. Why are you asking?
not sure. felt like smtg was wrong
I was worried
You: I'm fine, Yaku, really. What about you?
And with that the boy started to tell you how his team was and that his next game would be in Italy, but he was having a hard time adjusting to the time zones. Killua rested on your shoulders, sleeping soundly.
Slowly the sun started to rise, showing how Kuroo's lies were affecting you, but not just as painful than after entering on his uni's website and seeing the big notice that the volleyball training was suspended since the beginning of the week.
++++
Kuroo smiled as he saw the frat party in fromt of him, pulling you by your hand as you two got inside. He held tightly with slight worry that you would end up lost in the middle of the mass of the dancing sweaty bodies, only to guide you to where Kai, Yamamoto and Kenma were standing — the two latter being able to infiltrate the party without anyone noticing they were still high schoolers.
“I really hope they haven't started without us,” you smiled at Kuroo's words, and the boys turned at the familiar voice. Yamamoto high fived his older Captain, and then the two of them shared a hug.
“The team is slacking without you,” the boy whined, a pout appearing on his face as he rested his hands on your shoulders. “Hana is a great manager, but she's not you-“
Kuroo cleared his throat as a way to pull you two away from each other, a forced smile on his face as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to himself before he could answer.
“I miss the team too. It's weird having to adapt to new people,” he complained, his fingers squeezing your sides as he maintained the eye contact with the boy in front of him.
Kenma looked at the group of friends, his attention drifting away from the game on his DS for a few seconds, seeing the discomfort and strange behaviours of both you and Kuroo, only to furrow his own eyebrows when he saw Kuroo bark out a laugh when his eyes met with a group of unknown boys. He never was like that.
“Kuroo!” An older boy laughed when he saw him, body slamming the messy haired boy and making Kuroo let go of his partner, and Kenma held up his hands to avoid you from falling. “Dude, you need to come with us.”
“Oh, man, I was thinking-“
“C'mon! You're the newbie on the team! That's your initiation! You can't pass this!” He pushed, a cocky smile on his face.
They all could see that he wanted to.
“Tetsu, go,” you said with a forced smile, even if he was hesitating because of their friends.
“You sure?”
“Yeah, it's fine. We'll be okay, right?” She said, as she looked at the three, and they could only nod. Kuroo smile was so big that you couldn't help but melt. It had been so long since he gave you that smile, and he moved to give you a kiss but the older man only pulled his arm away, pushing a beer bottle in his hand and dragging him away.
“Are you okay, y/n?” Kenma asked, making you raise your eyebrows, hesitating a few seconds before nodding.
“It's his first party with the team, we need to let him enjoy,” you said, trying to make your smile look genuine, but they all knew better.
“That's not what I meant,” the gamer boy corrected himself, clearing his throat and that make your breath hitch.
Kenma… knew?
Looking up for a second, you passed your hands through the curls of your hair you had spent an hour making, not wanting to answer, but catching up how Kai was avoiding her eyes.
So, Kai also knew.
“Tell me how's school. How's Lev?” You tried to break the tension, and Yamamoto rolled his eyes at the mention of the boy's name, sitting besides her on the couch and telling her everything she was missing.
++++
“You want more soda?” Yamamoto asked, staring at the empty cup on your hands that was once filled to the brim with alcohol, and you could only nod.
You were always good in handling your own with drinks, but Kuroo… not so much.
Moving past the many beer bottles on the ground and over your own legs that were resting on Kai's lap, while your body rested against Kenma's as you watched him pass to another level on his game
The new Nekoma captain walked on the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing two soda cans and pouring the liquid on the cups. Yamamoto was never one to drink, he never liked the taste of beer or the burning from other beverages.
He thought he could enjoy a little bit more with the thrid years and the graduates, but once Kuroo decided to be own his own, he left the four of you who never really liked parties. Mainly you, who would much rather be on your apartment watching something than being there, but you kept denying in leaving without the taller man.
He couldn't help but notice how stressed Kai looked, drinking on his own as he stared at everywhere but you.
But Yamamoto wasn't expecting to come back to see the so familiar mess of hair of his old captain, as he pressed a girl that was obviously not you against a wall, their bodies on an entangled mess.
The idea that you and Kuroo were the perfect couple started shattering on his mind. All those years together thrown away like it was nothing, wasted right there.
All those times that everyone was teasing that you were always together, and how loyal you were… weren't real.
And the truth was right in front of his eyes.
Trying to go back to the less agitated part of the party, where you and the boys were, he could see your eyes locked on something close to the dancing floor, the frown deepening. Yamamoto didn't need to check to know what you saw, he could only walk faster, to sit by your side and give you your drink, wrapping his arm around your shoulders in a sideways hug.
You didn't know how to react, only hugging your friend back as reality finally sunk in. You were right, but you didn't want to believe you had lost your relationship so easily.
Before you could part from the hug, Kuroo walked over, his jaw clenching and a glare in his eyes as he could see how close Yamamoto was to you.
“We're leaving, Y/n.” He said, trying to keep himself standing as he rested his hand on the wall beside him.
You could only nod, putting your heels back and getting up with your purse in hands, walking to Kuroo's side, who was quickly to capture your lips into a sloppy kiss, one that you returned, even if you could almost feel the taste of the other girl's lipstick. And the girl before that, and the other before that…
As you pulled away, you wrapped one of your arms around his waist, trying to keep him standing as Kuroo drapped his arms around your shoulders, turning back with a smirk to his friends.
“Was good to see you guys,” you said with a sad smile. “We can meet up another day.”
And with that, Yamamoto noticed that maybe that wasn't the first time that it happened, of how sad and distant you looked as you dragged Kuroo away from the party. Kai and Kenma's reaction also confirmed this theory.
Kenma and Kai knew, of course they did. But why weren't them doing anything about it?
He couldn't understand how someone would do this — how Kuroo would do this. And what made him more angry was how you stayed with a guy who treated you with less than you deserve.
But there you were, taking care of the man he used to call his best friend, but know only a person he could barely recognize.
Being loyal to him, want him anyway.
And Yamamoto hated the fact he couldn't do anything to help.

And there you were again, with your hands on your pockets, glasses framing your face and your hair hidden under the hood of your hoodie. Eyes check the price of a shirt that would look perfect on the man that you loved. On the other hand was a bag of new toys for Killua.
You closed your eyes tightly, trying to avoid new tears to fall from your eyes as you started to walk away from the mannequin.
One week had passed since the party. One week of the same routine of one sided conversations and not even one truthful answer. One week that your only company was the fluff haired white cat. One week of avoiding Yaku's texts.
The question repeating again and again in your head, questioning what didnyou do wrong. What could you hve done to avoid what happen. Why you still stayed.
But you knew the answer. You loved Kuroo Tetsurou. You couldn't bare the thought of leaving him.
“Y/n?” A so familiar voice called you, making you curse the universe for making this happen. Of every moments, why now? “Y/n, it has been so long!”
You weren't expecting to find Lev Haiba, in no way possible. Not on a random saturday morning, when he would always sleep the day long.
Lev also didn't know why he wanted to wake up early that day, and where the sudden need of a coffee that he didn't have at home, but he didn't question. And now he was even more surprised in finding you here with red puffy eyes.
“Are you okay? Have you been crying?” With those questions, you finally stared back on his green eyes, not being able to hold back the tears anymore, letting them fall free. Lev was taken aback, putting the cups on the table and hugging his friend with no hesitation. “What happened?”
You could only shake your head, not want or being able to talk at that moment. Every single thought and feeling were finally exploding, finally freeing everything that you were feeling.
Lev only rested his hand on your hair, pulling you closer in the hug, and he could almost feel his heart shattering along with yours. He didn't know how to comfort you, but he continued whispering sweet words as he held you.
He knew they were receiving curious and strange looks, so he finally came to the conclusion they should probably leave the place to have more privacy. The second year boy looked around, trying to see if Kuroo was around, but was quick to notice he wasn't.
“Hey, hey…” he called out lowly, making you squeeze your arms a bit as a way to tell that you were listening. “Let's go to my house? It's two blocks from here, so you can calm down a bit and talk if you want.”
Letting go from the half Russian boy in fron of her, you nodded, trying to clean away the tears with the sleeves of the jumper, as Lev guided you back to his place, not forgetting to grab the coffee.
After five minutes you could see the white gate from his house, Lev opening the gate and letting themselves in after unlocking the door.
Alisha smiled when she saw her brother entering the house, but she tilted her head in confusion when her eyes fell on you, as you looked down, trying to avoid eye contact. Of course the older girl recognized you, but she didn't understand why you are like that, only giving you a small smile and thanking her brother who gave her the cup of coffee.
“It's good to see you again, Y/n. Mom and dad left, and I'll go to my room. Feel youself at home,” the older girl gave her brother a look and he gave her a greateful smile as the older girl left the two.
When they heard Alisha's door closing, Lev turned to you, giving you a worried look, as he mentioned for you to sit on the couch.
The younger boy was always the closest to you than everyone — aside from Yaku—, simply because everyone used to pick on him, so you always felt like you had to be there cheering for his progress, creating a good friendship on your last year.
“What happened?” He asked again, and you could only look down at your lap, fidgeting with your fingers in an anxious manner. You didn't know if you could tell him the truth.
“Have you been talking to Kuroo lately?” Your raspy voice made Lev tilted his head, certainly not expecting that question.
“No, I haven't spoke to him in a few months now… Why? What did he do?”
With a shaky breath, you could only look down, resting your elbows on your knees and pushing your hair back with your hands.
“He's been cheating on me,” you said so lowly, but Lev had heard your clearly. A shocked expression appeared on his face. Kuroo did what? “He's… been doing it for months.”
“HE'S CHEATING ON YOU?” Lev yelled out, not wanting to believe.
The gray haired boy couldn't understand. You were the perfect couple. The type of romance that you would want to find in your life, the perfect example of what he wanted. And now… everything was broken in a matter of what, months? Who else knew that? Kenma? Yamamoto? That is why they have been acting so weird this past week at school?
“Yaku knows?” He asked, seeing his sister appeared on the hallway, a furious expression on her face matching her brother's.
“No… but he might be the only one,” you answered, passing your fingers on your eyes to avoid new tears to appear.
“Why would he do that?” Lev asked, more to himself than to his friend in front of him, and you could only let out a forced laugh, shaking your head, hugging yourself.
“You think I know?! God! We just adopted Killua, and it haven't been less than three months we were talking about our future, our… family- What-“ your voice broke as you took a deep breath, tears burning your eyes once more. “What did I do wrong? I didn't give him enough attention..? That was it? It has to be, we just ended our exams… what did I do?”
Lev shook his head, pulling the you into another hug as he could feel your body shaking, your head in his chest.
He felt his blood boil when he thought about it. He wanted to end his old captain, even thought he knew he would lose.
Alisha walked closer carefully, touching your back as she tried to get your attention. Lev decided that it would be best if his older sister took care of it, since she knew how to deal with that better than him. Guiding the you to her own room, Alisha closed the door behind them.
Lev clenched his jaw, grabbing his phone and sending message after message to Yaku, not leaving not even one single detail out. The libero, who usually would just ignore the smaller version of a titan, started to read then when he saw your name.
Kuroo groaned as he put on his shirt, looking at the naked girl, being only covered with the sheets of her bed. With a smile he reached to grab his phone, furrowing his eyebrows at the many texts from both Lev and Yaku.
The black haired boy — messier than ever because of the previous minutes — was confused, but he was quick to feel his heart stop as he finally realized what was happening. They knew, and so did you.
Fuck, fuck, shit! Were the only things he could think. How did you find out? Kuroo closed his fist around his phone to think that maybe you always knew. How could he be so stupid?
Getting up and pulling up his pants as he did his belt, the girl turned on the bed, a smile plastered on her face. “Where're you going, Tetsu?”
But her words had no answer, and before she could say anything else, the man disappeared on the door, leaving her with a betrayed and angry face on the bed.
Kuroo felt like he was moving automatically, turning on his car and hitting the answer button on his phone, not really wanting to talk to the boy who was calling him. “Yaku-“
“Shut the fuck up, you asshole,” the libero growled on the other side of the call, butting off his old captain. “How could you?”
“I'm an asshole, I know,” Kuroo passed the hands that were on the wheel to his hair as he stared at the night. The call on the speaker as he could hear Yaku click his tongue.
“At least you are fucking aware,” he laughed, an Kuroo felt his blood run cold. “I told you that if you hurt her, I would go after you. And it's good that you find out that you ruined the only good thing on your fucking life.”
“I know-“
“No, I don't think you do. Y/n can be naive enough to forgive you, but I'm really hoping that she doesn't and you can suffer knowing she will be living her life happy without your manipulative ass controlling her every move.” Yaku said through his teeth, completing. “You're lucky that I'm not in Japan right now, because the police would have a hard time identifying your body if I was.”
Swallowing dry, Kuroo gripped the wheel harder. His guilt eating him from inside out.
“She's in Lev's house, right?”
“Leave her the fuck alone,” with that, Yaku ended the call.
As he slammed close the car door, Kuroo jumped the first steps of the house, ringing the doorbell like crazy.
Alisha opened the door, almost huffing when she saw him, and closing the door on his face.
“Alisha, please!” He knocked on the door again.
“Leave!”
“Lemme speak to Y/n, please!” The man asked again, only for Lev's voice being the one to answer now as he opened the door.
“Speak to her so you can fool her with lies? You cheated on her, many times, may I remind you-“
“Lev, dude, please, let me talk to her, at least tell me she's okay!”
“Of course she's not okay, and that's your fault.” Lev said, a harsh look that Kuroo never saw on his face. “Leave before I say a huge fuck it for her feelings and decide to end you.”
Kuroo could see you behind Alisha, your red swollen eyes, but figure so small, showing how vulnerable you were.
“Y/n, please…” he tried to look into your eyes, only for you to look to the ground.
Pressing lips together, Kuroo stepped away, nodding his head and going back to his car. You looked at the window, observing the man turning on the car and disappearing to your shared apartment.
Kuroo felt even more guilty as he entered the apartment and being greeted by the blue eyes and while fur of Killua.
++++
The next day — even not being able to sleep during the night thanks to the thoughts on your head — you thanked the two siblings for letting you stay the night. Lev hugged you one more time, knowing that this was something you needed to solve yourself.
Unlocking the door of the apartment, Killua meowed happily when he saw his owner, walking to the door, curious to see what you had on the bag you were holding — or even better, in getting inside the bag.
Kuroo ran when he heard the door closing, not wasting any more time in wrapping you in a hug, while the action only made you clench your jaw, not returning the gesture.
“Y/n, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I was an idiot. I should've never done that, I swear.” He said, letting go of the hug and holding your face in his two hands, only for you to step away.
“Then why?” Your whispered, voice breaking as your expression showed all the pain that you felt. “Why did you do that? Why did you throw this all away?”
“I was stupid, and I had no reason for it. I'm sorry, I really am. Please, baby, I beg you,” he said, walking closer to you again. “I love you, Y/n. I don't know what went through my head, but I won't do it again. Please, baby…”
Seeing the hesitation on your face, the man walked closer, his hands going to rest on your waist as he pulled you a bit closer, smirking a little when you didn't pull away.
“I love you. I want to build a life with you. A family with you. Take as long as it takes, it doesn't need to be now, but please don't leave me,” his left hand went to your cheek, bending your head back a little as he looked into your teary eyed face.
“I can't trust you anymore,” you answered, seeing him shake his head, cleaning away the tear who was falling.
“Then I'll gain your trust back, my love. I'll do everything to make it work,” he reassured, while you tried to swallow down the tears. “You still love me?”
With a small nod, Kuroo felt a weight lifting from his shoulders, so he leaned down, planting his lips on yours, which you didn't have the courage to deny. Then another, and another.
“I promise I'll make it work. I won't do this again, I love you so much, baby,” he said, closing his eyes as he brought you back onto a hug — and after a few minutes of hesitation — hugged him back.
It didn't matter what your friends would say, what they would think. You were selfish, you always had been. You loved Kuroo too much to let him go. You didn't know what would be of you without him, he was always there, and you would let him walk over you again, and again. You loved him more than you loved yourself and anything. You would always want him. Always need him.
Yaku and Lev would say you were stupid. And deep inside you, you knew that he would do it again. Days had passed, but you couldn't escape. You heart was Kuroo's. It would always be his.
“Marry me,” he asked, looking deep into your eyes.
“Yes. Yes, of course I do,” you answered, pulling Kuroo into a kiss.
And you hated that you could feel her lips on his.
