New Ranges

In the last few months we have have begun to stock the fabulous range of yarns from Emu Yarns.

Now, some of the more mature amongst us may recall Emu from the 70’s and 80’s! It was a well loved brand which lost its way as we moved into the 2000s. 18 months ago the brand was bought out and the new owners have revamped the range to produce a range of excellent yarns at incredible prices.

We are stockists of the full range including the amazing Funfair Swirl which comes in a range of 8 fabulous cakes. In addition to the gorgeous Funfair they have developed an amazing range of 100% cotton yarn and a great range of DK, Chunky Aran and Super Chunky, and the amazing Treasure baby range.

In addition to the new Emu yarns, in response to customer requests for a chenille yarn we have just taken delivery of the gorgeous King Cole Yummy yarn.

This beautiful chunky yarn is supersoft and perfect for your baby makes as it is perfect for delicate baby skins. These yarns are perfect for your summer knitting projects.

there was a really friendly israeli tourist shopping at this yarn store, who intuited that i spoke english just from the way i said AH! when i found a suitable dupe for the yarn i am running out of mid project. we had this wonderful chat about how gorgeous the sock yarns were. then! she said that when she was changing planes in turkey the airport security cut her circular yarn in HALF bc it's a weapon (???!??) and i just moaned and swayed with her in grief when she showed me her murdered needle. knitters get inevitably emotional about our precious knitting implements.

🌊Nature Had Another Plan 🏞

Your eyes are not deceiving you, this is another almost completely blue colorway! However this one is much more mid to dark toned blues and greys, speckled with a dark grey color. 💙 This would absolutely make a beautiful fade with Hand in Hand (a few posts back) and gives a nice nod to Winter. ❄️

Walking into a yarn shop like it's an art museum. Admiring all the colorways and textures of the various skeins. Nodding my head at the tasteful displays of handmade items by the local knitting/crochet group to demonstrate the different yarn brands. Talking to the owner to learn more about the local fiber art scene and learning about different dyers, and crafters in the area that I would have never found on the internet. Buying one too many skeins to continue my pursuit of creating beautiful things to bring joy into mine and others lives. My way of paying homage to this wonderland of fibrous beauty.

Fucking glorious.
