Misconceptions | Yelena Belova
Tumblr media
Pairing: Popular College Student!Yelena Belova x Quiet!Reader
Summary: The most popular girl in school is showing interest in you, the quiet girl. What will happen when you don't realize she's actually interested in you and not just wants you to do her homework? [Full request]
Masterlist | Marvel masterlist | Words: 1.5k
At school you were known as the quiet girl, or sometimes even the loner. You didn’t have any friends at college and made no effort to get to know people. For you there was a reason behind your choices, to others it just seemed like you were weird. You studied alone, you had lunch alone, you didn’t hang out with people, it was just you.
During lunch you felt watched, the feeling was nothing new. People tend to enjoy making fun of the outcasts. When you searched through the crowd to see who it was, you found Yelena Belova’s eyes looking back at you. Yelena was one of the most popular girls in the school, currently sitting with the rest of her popular friends at a lunch table across the cafeteria. She didn’t even look away when the two of you made eye contact, while her friends were laughing. In annoyance you roll your eyes, pack your stuff and head to your next class.
*Meanwhile at Yelena's table*
"What's wrong with you guys? She's just a person." Yelena says, annoyed with her friend's reaction to her interest in wanting to get to know you. "Yeah, a weird person." Josh answers, gaining him cheers and high fives from his friends. "Grow up." Yelena says while she packs her stuff and goes after you. She finds you in the hallway looking at your phone. "Hey, y/n." She says approaching you. You look up from your phone but don't greet her back. Yelena continues on, nonetheless. "I'm sorry about my friends." You shrug, you were used to it by now. "Hey, I was wondering if you would-" You cut her off before she could finish. "I'm not interested in doing your homework." You tell her and walk off. Yelena stands there dumbfounded, is that really how people treated you? All she wanted to do was invite you to a party next week. You went on with the rest of your classes, and continued your day. After your last class you went back to your dorm, turned your gaming device on and plopped down on your bed. Finally, you could relax and not have to worry about people watching your every move.
A few days pass without any major interactions with ignorant people. Until Thursday afternoon, you had just grabbed your books and notes for your next class from your locker and were walking in the hallway on your way to your next class. You didn't think it was necessary to put all the stuff you just grabbed in your bag, since you'd have to take it out in just a couple minutes anyways, so you carried the books and your folder full of notes in your arms. You slow down when you see Chris standing right in front of you. Chris was the quarterback for the school's football team. He was tall. He was strong. He was intentionally blocking your path. You took a deep breath before you said, "Excuse me, can I pass?" He laughs, "I don't think so." There was not much you could do physically to get past him, so your only option was to ask again, as there was no other hallway that led to the classroom that you needed to go to. "Come on, just let me through, please." All he did in response was knock your books and folder out of your hands, your notes flew out of the folder and scattered across the floor.
Before you could say anything else you heard a voice from behind you. "Chris, what is wrong with you? This is not how you treat people." Yelena walks past you and stands in front of Chris. "I do not want to see you near y/n ever again, do you understand?" Chris nods, he suddenly seemed small, like he was scared of Yelena, who was like a foot smaller than him. "Good, now scram." She says sternly. Her stern voice and angry face instantly soften when she turns around and looks at you. "I'm sorry, something like that won't happen again, I promise." She kneels down and starts gathering your papers, you join her and put everything back in the folder. "Why are you being nice to me?" You ask when she hands you the pile that she gathered. "Why wouldn’t I?" Yelena shrugs. “People tend to not be nice to me, as you’ve just witnessed. It’s not really the norm for people like me. People tend to only be nice to me when they want something from me. You know, like you did the other day.”
“I didn’t want anything from you, I just wanted to invite you to a party. I’m sorry people are so horrible.” - “You want to invite me to a party, which will most likely consist of people who are horrible to me?” Yelena looks down at her feet, “Yeah, I didn’t really think that one through.. I thought it would be fun to hang out outside of school and get to know each other.” You’re finding it hard to believe that the most popular girl in the school wants to hang out with you, so you push. “What would your friends think when they see you hanging out with me?” Yelena is quick to respond, “I don’t care what they think. If they were to have a problem with it, which in my mind is totally unreasonable, that’s on them and they should grow up.” Hearing her say that, plus her standing up to you was starting to make you feel like she might actually be interested in getting to know you. You could just see where it would take you right? “Okay, we can hang out, but I’m not going to that party. Maybe we could go to an arcade or something?” Yelena smiles, “Yes, that sounds great.”
You walk to your next class together, now definitely late. Yelena told you not to worry about it and follow her lead. She opens the classdoor and you both walk in. Yelena walks up to the professor and whispers, “I’m sorry Sir, there was a little time of the month issue, if you know what I mean.” He nods, “Take a seat.” The two of you find an empty set of tables at the end of the classroom and sit down next to each other. You worked together on the assignment of the class, and already you started to realize more and more that Yelena didn’t want anything more than to get to know you. You were laughing and making jokes about the assignment together. At the end of the class Yelena writes down her number in your notes. “Text me so we can make plans.” She hands you back the paper and is out the door. You look after her with a smile on your face.
When you get home from school, you grab your notes and add Yelena’s contact. You sent her a message right away.
You: Hey Yelena, it’s y/n. Did you still want to go to the arcades?
Yelena: Yes, of course! Do you have plans tonight?
You: No, not really.
Yelena: Great, can I pick you up at 8pm?
You: Yeah, sounds good :)
You sent her your address before you get started on your homework. Your mom calls you downstairs for dinner, you sit down at the table and tell her about your plans tonight. She’s both excited and nervous, but she tells you to have fun before she leaves for her night shift. Soon after you changed into a different outfit, you heard the doorbell ring. Yelena stood on the other side of the door with a big smile, “I’m sorry, I know I’m a bit early, I was just very excited for tonight. I can wait if you’re not ready yet.” Her eagerness calms your nerves. “I’m ready, let’s go.” You smile and walk to her car. At the arcade you played games the whole evening, you were better at aiming games and she was better at speed games. You had so much fun, you can’t remember when the last time was that you had laughed this much. At the end of the evening you traded in all your tickets for prizes. You got some snacks for the way back from your tickets, while Yelena got the biggest teddy bear that her tickets could buy. She hands the teddy bear to you, “Here, this is for you.” She says with a nervous smile. You take the bear and hold it tight. “Thank you, I love it.” Yelena grabs your hand and leads you back to her car. The moment her hand touched your, your heart skipped a beat.
Yelena drives you back home and walks you up to your door. “I had a lot of fun tonight.” Yelena shares. “Me too, maybe we can do it again sometime?” You look up at her with hopeful eyes. “Yes, I would love to.” She takes a step closer to you and kisses your cheek. “I’ll text you when I get home safely.” You stand on the porch watching her leave. How on earth was all of this happening?
Yelena: I made it. Have a good night x
You: Good night x

“Lena? Lena, baby, is that you?” You called out, turning the stove off as you sped-walked to the door. You received no answer, but when you turned the corner you saw Yelena standing there, shoulders heavy and a frown on her face. She looked down, dropping her bag before you engulfed her in a hug, eyebrows furrowing when you didn’t feel her return it.
“Hey, hey,” You leaned back, cupping her cheeks and forcing her to return your worried gaze. “Talk to me, sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Her cheeks hollowed as her eyes remained on the wall behind you, tears grazing them. You took the sign and sighed, guiding her to the couch where she instantly crawled into you. Her legs crossed yours, her arms wrapping around your shoulders as you heard silent sniffles.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You rubbed her thigh soothingly, kissing her forehead after she shook her head slowly.
“That’s okay, we can just sit right here. Is there anything you want, baby?” She shook her head once more, her body shaking in small shivers.
“Oh, you must be so cold. Here, take this.” You wrapped a blanket around her, continuing to rub her skin to create further warmth. She was shaking less, but you could feel her heartbeat thumping rapidly. Your fingers threaded through her soft hair that felt dry and unwashed.
“When was the last time you had a shower, Lena?” She shrugged, and you wondered if she had blinked at all this entire time.
“Alright, we can wait here for a few minutes and then we need to get you in the shower.” The few minutes flew by faster than she thought and soon enough you were easing her into the bathroom. She stopped you, muttering a few soft words that you were unable to understand, leading her to repeat them as you asked.
“I don’ want a shower,” She stumbled over her sentence. “I wan’ to play with- with the bubbles.” You chuckled at her playful wishes and led her to sit on the edge of the bathtub, turning the knob as water began to flow out. Yelena watched with a grin, clasping her hands together as her leg continued to bounce under your soft caressing.
“You ready to get in, love? C’mon, I’ll go grab your toys.” She waited patiently for you to return, recognizing the items in your hands instantly as the excitement brewed. The reconciliation from earlier seemed to begin to fade as she focused on her Mommy, her lover.
“There you go, are you comfy? Yeah? Good, good.” You spoke as she lowered herself into the warm water, sighing in relief as she felt her sore muscles start to ease. You rubbed her shoulders when noticing this, causing her to squirm as you brought your lips to her neck in teasing kisses. You gathered soap in your hands, letting them run over her body as she traced her finger through the bubbles. Her rubber duck dipped under the water before splashing its way to a return. She giggled every time, and you only stared in admiration.
“You’re so cute, Lena girl.” Her cheeks darkened, her eyes squeezing shut while her nose scrunched as you brushed a hair out of her face. You pecked her forehead twice, the second lingering a moment too long before you leaned back to meet her gaze, your eyes softening as you saw nothing behind them. There was no thought in her head, and you were relieved you got to bring her to a place of such peace.
“Alright, you ready for bedtime, hm? You tired, honey?” She nodded, reaching out to grapple onto your shoulders, her teeth taking her tongue in a deep bite, but she seemed unfazed. You helped her dry off, ruffling her hair and causing the wet locks to become less damp. You ushered her into the panda pajamas she picked out one evening during your online shopping trip before helping her brush her teeth, your lips landing on her shoulders every few moments as reassurance. She gave you a cheery smile once finished, letting you lead her back into the bedroom where she leaped onto the soft mattress. She tossed the blankets over her body as you followed, sitting next to her as she placed her head on your chest. She listened to your heartbeat, drawing small hearts over the skin as goosebumps ran through you.
“Mommy?” Her small, hushed voice came into play. You turned your head to look at her, worry ranking your expression. “Can…can I, uhm,” She poked your breasts softly, running her short fingernails against your nipples, causing the peaks to harden. She giggled at the imprint forming, teasing your shirt down slowly in case she received denial from your end.
“Of course, you can.” You led her face closer by holding the back of her neck, sighing as her tongue teased you. You bit your lip, running your fingers through her hair as she hummed, the soft skin rubbing against her cheek and creating a warm, fuzzy feeling to erupt inside of her. She squirmed, letting the small flood of milk graciously travel down her throat as her knee butted against your core. You moaned from the contact, squeezing your eyes shut as she looked up at you with curious eyes.
“Did I do something wrong, Mommy?” You shook your head, trapping her knee between your thighs as you brought your hips to create a thrusting motion. She blushed, returning her mouth to your skin. You mumbled small praises, chuckling at the whimpers she let out. She began grinding her knee into your heat, her eyes nervously meeting yours in hopes of approval. Your lewd sounds proved her question right, leading her to grin around you. She always loved to please her Mommy, you deserved it after all you do for her.
“That’s it- ah! Mommy’s gonna cum…Mommy’s gonna fucking cum, baby!” Her eyes widened at your derogatory language, her brain instantly switching as she drank in your sweet milk. You choked up a moan, your body twitching as your orgasm rushed through you. You cried out in pleasure, keeping her head close as her eyes continued to grow heavy.
“Mommy-“
“Shh, just- fuck!” You dragged out. “That’s- it! Oh, yes, that’s my good fucking girl, such a good little puppy.” She wrapped her arms around your waist, teasing her teeth over the sensitive bud. You gasped, tugging on her hair lightly in response, leading her to whimper around you and bringing vibrations through your entire being.
“Oh, Mommy got you so, so messy, love!” You examined her slick-covered thigh that glistened under the small lamp with interest, causing her to follow your eye-sight and spot the same. Your body started to calm, although your chest continued to heave in small pants.
“Why don’t you let me clean that up for you, yeah?” She shook her head, clenching her thighs together as you tried prying them apart.
“Lena, don’t be mean to Mommy, I just want to taste you.” You licked the leftover stains of pleasure before inching closer to her heat where you could nearly smell the arousal.
“You’ve already ruined your little shorts, it’s probably best if we take these off. C’mon, don’t make me sad.” You pouted falsely, smirking to yourself once she complied in fear of upsetting you. She grabbed your hand in a hurry, leading it to her core as she nervously parted her legs. You finally removed the article of clothing, causing the cold air to breeze against her skin.
“Tickles, Mommy.” You chuckled, kissing her swollen clit with desire. She gasped, clasping her hands onto the pillows beneath her before you took one, interlacing your fingers together to calm her nerves.
“Don’t be nervous, Mommy is going to make all those tingly feelings go away.”

The Assassin and The Sunshine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You and Yelena were the most least-likely pair, or atleast that's what the avengers (Minus Natasha and Wanda) thought. So what happens when they see how the blonde acts when you get hurt
Warnings: Gunshots, medical stuff (minorly). Angry Yelena
----
Yelena Belova, with her steely gaze and lethal precision, was the epitome of intimidation among her peers. Her reputation as a formidable assassin preceded her, casting a shadow of fear wherever she went. With every calculated move and icy demeanor, she commanded respect and evoked a sense of unease among those around her. She was a force to be reckoned with, leaving a trail of apprehension in her wake.
And then there was you, Y/n Y/L/n. With a personality as bright as the sun and a heart as pure as gold, Y/n brought warmth and positivity to every situation. Her infectious laughter and unwavering kindness had a way of melting even the coldest of hearts, earning them the affectionate nickname of "the team's golden retriever."
Your gentle nature stood in stark contrast to Yelena's, and yet, somehow, the two of you had found a connection that defied explanation.
It wasn't easy, navigating a relationship with someone as closed-off as Yelena. She was slow to trust, and her walls were fortified with layers of steel. But you were patient, willing to chip away at those barriers bit by bit until you reached the heart of who she truly was.
The rest of the team couldn't understand it. They saw Yelena as an enigma, a formidable presence to be feared and respected. They couldn't fathom what you saw in her, why you would choose to be with someone so different from yourself.
"It's just... I don't get it," Tony remarked, glancing over at Yelena and you conversing in the corner of the room. "What's the deal with those two? Yelena's like a walking arsenal, and Y/n's... well, Y/n."
Steve nodded in agreement, his gaze following yours and Yelena's interaction. "I know what you mean, Tony. It's hard to imagine what they see in each other. They're like night and day."
Clint, who had been listening in on the conversation, chimed in with her own thoughts.
"Exactly! I still can't wrap my head around it," Clint admitted, scratching his head in confusion. "Yelena and Y/n... they're just so different from each other."
Bruce chuckled softly, glancing towards where you and Yelena were sitting. "Love is a strange thing, Clint. It's not always logical. Maybe Y/n sees something in Yelena that we don't."
Clint sighed, shaking his head. "I guess you're right. I just hope they know what they're doing."
--
It was a cold autumn day, and you found yourself on another mission alongside Natasha Tony, Steve, and Clint. The tension hung heavy in the air as the team moved with practiced precision through the dimly lit corridors of the enemy's stronghold.
The mission had been intense from the start, nearly dodging attacks at almost all turns, but as you ventured deeper into the heart of the HYDRA base, the atmosphere grew even more charged. Every step felt like a potential trap, every shadow a potential threat.
Suddenly, chaos erupted. Gunfire erupted from unseen assailants, and you found yourself instinctively stepping in front of Clint, shielding him from the onslaught. The impact was immediate, a searing pain lancing through your side as the bullets found their mark.
"Y/n!" Natasha's voice was a mix of alarm and concern as she rushed to your side, her expression tight with worry.
Clint knelt beside you, his hands hovering uncertainly over your injured form. "Y/n, are you okay?"
You managed a weak nod, gritting your teeth against the pain as Natasha and Tony quickly moved to assess your injuries.
"We need to get her out of here," Natasha declared, her voice firm as she glanced around the chaotic scene.
Steve's voice crackled over the comms. "Quinjet's on its way. Hold tight, we'll get you out of there."
As you were carefully lifted onto a stretcher, the team worked quickly to stabilize you. Despite the pain, you managed a weak smile, reassured by their presence.
"We've got you, Y/n," Tony said, his tone determined as he helped load you onto the Quinjet.
Clint squeezed your hand gently, his expression filled with worry. "Hang in there, okay? We'll get you patched up in no time."
You nodded weakly, feeling a surge of gratitude for your friends. As the Quinjet engines roared to life and the aircraft lifted off, you couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over you, knowing that even in the midst of danger, you had your closest friends by your side.
----
As the Quinjet touched down back at the base, the team wasted no time in transferring you to the medbay. Before Yelena could arrive, the medical team swiftly brought you into the operating room, shielding you from her sight.
Moments later, the door burst open again, and Yelena stormed in, her expression a mask of fury. Kate Bishop, who happened to be sparring with her when FRIDAY had informed Yelena of the news, was right beside her, offering silent support.
"Where is she?" Yelena demanded, her voice a dangerous growl, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of you.
Natasha stepped forward, her voice calm but firm. "Yelena, they've taken her into surgery. They're doing everything they can for her."
The blonde's tension only seemed to escalate at Natasha's words. "They better be taking care of her!" she barked, her tone sharp and threatening.
Tony and Steve exchanged uneasy glances as Yelena's fury filled the room. They shuffled awkwardly, intimidated by the practically burning blonde.
Yelena turned her rage on them, her eyes blazing with fury. "This is all your fault!" she accused, her voice cutting like a knife. "If anything happens to her, I'll make sure you all pay!"
Steve, ever the voice of reason, tried to reason with Yelena. "Yelena, we understand your concern, but right now our priority is getting her the help she needs."
Yelena's eyes flashed with fury. "Your priority should have been keeping her safe in the first place!" she shot back, her voice sharp with accusation, her Russian accent adding an extra edge to her words.
Tony, normally quick-witted, found himself at a loss for words in the face of Yelena's anger. "We did everything we could," he insisted, his tone defensive.
Clint, usually unflappable, shifted uncomfortably under Yelena's intense gaze. "Yelena, we're all worried about her. But yelling at us isn't going to help," he reasoned, trying to diffuse the tension.
But Yelena's rage was unyielding. "You think I care about your excuses?" she spat, her voice dripping with disdain. "All that matters to me is her. And if anything happens to her because of you…"
Natasha exchanged a knowing glance with Kate, silently acknowledging that it was time to intervene and calm Yelena down before her fury escalated further.
"Yelena," Natasha spoke softly but firmly, stepping closer to her friend, "I know you're scared. But yelling at them won't help Y/n."
Kate nodded in agreement, placing a gentle hand on Yelena's arm. "We're all worried about her," she added, her voice calm and reassuring. "But right now, we need to trust that Dr. Cho and Bruce knows what they're doing."
Yelena's anger seemed to waver for a moment as she looked between Natasha and Kate, her resolve beginning to soften.
Natasha continued, her voice gentle yet persuasive. "Y/n needs us to be strong for her right now. She needs you to be strong."
Kate nodded in agreement. "We're all in this together, Lena. We'll get through this, but we need to stay calm and focused."
Yelena's shoulders tensed, but gradually, the fire in her eyes began to dim as she took a deep breath, her anger giving way to concern for you. "I just want her to be okay," she admitted, her voice softer now, tinged with worry.
Natasha squeezed Yelena's hand reassuringly. "We all do," she said, her voice filled with empathy. "And Helen and Bruce will do everything we can to make sure she is."
As the tension in the room began to ease, Yelena nodded in silent agreement, her gaze lingering on the closed doors of the operating room where you lay.
Natasha gestured towards a nearby chair, silently inviting Yelena to sit beside her. Yelena hesitated for a moment before finally sinking into the seat, her body trembling with emotion.
Natasha wrapped an arm around her sister's shoulders, offering a comforting embrace. "It's going to be okay, Lena," she murmured, her voice soft and soothing.
Yelena leaned into Natasha's embrace, her walls crumbling as tears streamed down her cheeks. She buried her face against Natasha's shoulder, her sobs muffled against the fabric of her sister's uniform.
The other Avengers watched the scene unfold with a mixture of surprise and understanding, their eyes widening as they witnessed a side of Yelena they had never seen before.
Tony exchanged a glance with Steve, his eyebrows raised in disbelief. "Well, I'll be damned," he muttered under his breath, a hint of admiration in his voice.
"She's stable"
---
The steady beeping of the monitors filled the room as you blinked away the fog of anesthesia, your senses gradually coming back to you.
As your eyes fluttered open, you were met with the sight of Yelena sitting beside you, her expression soft and full of concern. "Hey," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper as you reached out to her.
Yelena's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of you awake, but she quickly composed herself, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she took your hand in hers. "Hey," she replied, her voice gentle and full of warmth.
Relief flooded through you as you squeezed her hand, grateful for her presence by your side. But, as you squeezed Yelena's hand, a wave of concern washed over you when you noticed the tears welling up in her eyes. "Lena, what's wrong?" you asked, your voice filled with worry as you reached out to gently cup her face with your hand.
Yelena's lower lip trembled slightly as she tried to compose herself, but the floodgates had opened, and tears began to trickle down her cheeks. "I was so scared," she admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I thought... I thought I might lose you."
You pulled her into a gentle embrace, holding her close as she cried softly against your chest, which hadn't be affected much, and was already fixing up thanks to Bruce's cell regenerator.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm right here," you whispered softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
Yelena leaned into your embrace, her tears gradually subsiding as she took comfort in your presence. "I was so scared," she admitted again, her voice trembling slightly.
You brushed a strand of hair away from her face, offering her a small smile. "I know, Lena. But I'm okay now. You're the one who's always saving me, even when you're not anywhere near me," you said sincerely, squeezing her hand reassuringly.
Yelena's lips twitched slightly, a hint of amusement flickering in her eyes. "Yeah, well, don't expect me to always save you," she teased lightly, a small chuckle escaping her lips, as she resorted to her usual coping method of humour.
You grinned, feeling a surge of affection for the woman in your arms. "Oh, come on, Lena. You love playing the hero," you teased right back, trying to lighten the mood.
A genuine smile spread across Yelena's face for the first time since you'd woken up. "I kinda do" she chuckled, shrugging nonchalantly, before the both of you started laughing.
But as the laughter faded, a heaviness settled in the air once again. Yelena's eyes clouded with sadness, the weight of the situation crashing down on her once more.
You reached out, cupping her face in your hands. "Hey, Lena. It's okay to be scared," you said softly, your voice filled with empathy. "But we're together now. And we'll get through this, I promise."
As the Avengers stood at the door, watching the unexpected tenderness between you and Yelena, they exchanged surprised glances.
Tony raised an eyebrow, his voice laced with disbelief. " The White widow is a softie after all, what would you know?"
Steve nodded in agreement, a small smile playing on his lips. "Seems like we all jumped to conclusions too quickly."
Bucky, who had been silently observing, chimed in. " I guess, they are perfect for each other hm"
Clint chuckled, shaking his head in amazement. "Never thought I'd see the day when Yelena Belova was making someone laugh."
As they listened to the laughter emanating from the room, as you and Yelena continue to make each other laugh, the Avengers couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the unexpected bond between you and Yelena. It was a reminder that sometimes, people were more than their tough exteriors.

Healing Bonds
Yelena Belova x Fem!Reader, Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader(Past)
Summary: You find Yelena after Natasha, your ex-lover, has passed and you feel like it's your duty to keep Yelena close. What happens though when feelings rise up for the blonde Russian?
Word Count: 3.2K
Warnings: Lots of angst and hurt
A/N: So This idea had come to me after rewatching Endgame, Black Widow, and Hawkeye so here you go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time you met Yelena Belova wasn't until after her sister and your ex-lover, Natasha Romanoff, died. Natasha had always talked about Yelena and how much she loved her. You cried when you first laid eyes on Yelena. The two looked nothing alike, and you were thankful for that because you don't think you could look at her if she did.
When you told Yelena who you were to Natasha, she cried, wishing for a million different scenarios in which her sister was still here with them, and all you could do was hug Yelena, which earned you a handful of punches. You learned quickly that Yelena could be a very violent person when dealing with certain emotions. The first time it happened, you let it. You let her get her aggression out.
"It's not fair! You had so much time with her! You got to be happy with her! Me? I got a mission that almost got us killed after 20 years of silence!" She yelled, and you just held her tighter. "I'm sorry, Yelena," You whispered over and over and over.
In those moments, as her fists collided with your body, you could feel the pain in her words. It wasn't just about Natasha's death; it was about the years lost, the missions that tore them apart, and the void left by the silence between them. You understood Yelena's anger, even if it was directed at you. It wasn’t as if she could direct it at the person she wanted to.
As the punches subsided, she finally collapsed into your arms, exhausted from the emotional storm that had consumed her. You sat there in silence for a while, the weight of Natasha's absence hanging heavily between the two of you. The room felt colder, emptier, and you couldn't shake the guilt that gnawed at you.
"I wish she had more time with you too, Yelena," You said softly, your words barely audible. Yelena didn't respond, but her grip on you tightened, seeking solace in your shared grief.
In the aftermath of that turbulent encounter, the two of you began a journey of healing together. You were bound by the love you had both lost, and as the two of you navigated the tangled web of emotions, a new connection formed. A connection born out of pain, but one that held the promise of understanding and, perhaps, even redemption in the face of the losses you both endured in the wake of the Snap and beyond.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You ended up taking Yelena home with you, offering her a permanent place by your side. She continued going on missions, which you had expected. The first time she left without telling you, and there was no note. You thought you'd lost her forever, sitting on the back porch in the summer evening air, your Y/H/C hair whipping around you as silent tears fell.
You didn't hear her come in, not until she was next to you did you notice her presence. "Why are you crying?" Her accent, thick and familiar, filled your ears as you grabbed her, pulling her in tightly, close, your heart hammering in your chest. "I thought I'd lost you too... don't... don't fucking do that again, Yelena!" You yelled at her, your voice trembling as tears flowed freely.
Yelena's expression softened as she held you, understanding the fear that gripped you during her absence. "I had to go. It was a last-minute mission, and I didn't want to wake you," she explained, her words a mix of apology and reassurance.
"It doesn't matter. Just... just tell me next time, please," You pleaded, your grip on her not loosening. The relief of having her back overwhelmed the anger that had fueled your outburst.
Yelena nodded, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head. "I promise. I'm sorry for making you worry," she said, her voice soothing. The two of you stayed there, entwined on the porch, the summer breeze carrying away the tension that had momentarily fractured your newfound connection.
From that day forward, Yelena kept her promise. She would leave for her missions, but not without a word or a note, ensuring that you wouldn't have to endure the heart-wrenching uncertainty of her absence again. In the quiet moments between her departures and returns, your bond deepened, and the scars of your shared losses began to heal, one mission at a time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You decided to form a company a little over a year after Natasha died, the weight of her absence still heavy in your heart. Standing at her grave, you whispered into the wind, "I'm going to start a company. I don't want to be an Avenger anymore. Not without you, but I can help others. I know I can." The breeze felt like Natasha's touch, a comforting caress that seemed to echo her approval.
"Yelena and I have been living together for six months now, Tasha. She's exactly as you described. A spitfire and a brat at times. I don't know if you can forgive me or not when I say this, but I could see myself with her. She's my type, a power bottom with a bratty side." You chuckled as the wind picked up. "Okay okay... I understand, only if she moves first," You whispered, as if seeking Natasha's consent in the elements around you.
Your company started up with few hiccups. You planned on making a business out of seeking out people with powers and talents that could be considered Avengers, teaming them up with a manager. Eventually, you aimed to expand to other countries, each with its own headquarters. The goal was to create a network of skilled individuals, ready to defend against threats on a global scale.
You envisioned a world where those of you left in America could stay here unless faced with a Thanos-level threat, something you fervently hoped would never happen again. The legacy of the Avengers would live on through this new venture, a tribute to Natasha and a commitment to protecting a world that had lost so much but still held the potential for hope and resilience.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You come home to find Yelena sitting on the couch with a pot of mac & cheese covered in hot sauce, using a too-big spoon. "Y/N! I made mac & cheese! Would you like some?" she asks, and you’re too exhausted to yell at her. You sit next to her, taking the spoon and eating some. "How was your day?" she inquires.
"Stressful, Lena. More and more people are learning about my company, and we're getting more and more applications," You reply, leaning your head back against the couch, closing your eyes. You hear her set the pot down on the coffee table before she curls up against your side. "Anything I can do?" she asks.
You remind yourself of the promise you made to Natasha. "Whatever you think sounds good. You've known me for over a year now, Lena. What is it that you think I want? What will make me feel better?" You don't open your eyes or look at her. you’re testing her, and she knows it.
You feel her shift off the couch, and you clench your fists. She's never going to make the first move as you fiddle with the band on your ring finger—the one you haven't taken off since Natasha gave it to you.
Yelena returns with a blanket, draping it over both of you. "How about a movie night? We can just relax and take a break from all the chaos," she suggests, her voice soft. It's a simple gesture, but the warmth of her presence and the consideration behind her words start to ease the tension within you.
You nod, finally opening your eyes to meet hers. "Yeah, that sounds good, Lena," you admit, a small smile playing on your lips. Maybe in that moment, amidst the mac & cheese, the too-big spoon, and the movie night proposal, you found a way to let go, even if just for a little while.
Yelena picks the movie while you change into pajamas, a tank top and shorts. You notice her eyes on your body, but choose to ignore it for the time being as you make popcorn and pour us some vodka sprites. Carrying the drinks and popcorn over, Yelena has picked out John Wick. You can’t help but chuckle at the choice as you settle back into the couch. Yelena moves closer, fitting into you like a puzzle piece as she takes your left arm and wrap it around her shoulders. You simply smile at the gesture, sipping on your drink and eating popcorn as the movie plays out.
About halfway through the movie, you feel Yelena absent-mindedly playing with the band Natasha had given you. She's engrossed in the movie, and you watch her, finding her reactions more enthralling than the movie at this point. It's a subtle touch, her fingers tracing the contours of the ring on your finger, and you can't help but be drawn to the way she navigates the emotions tied to Natasha's memory.
As the scenes of John Wick unfold on the screen, you lean your head against Yelena's, savoring the comfort of the moment. Her actions speak louder than any words, and in the quiet intimacy of that movie night, you start to understand that healing doesn't always come from grand gestures or elaborate plans. Sometimes, it's found in the simplicity of sharing a movie, a drink, and the touch of someone who cares. And in those stolen glances and unspoken connections, you find a new layer of solace, a fragile bridge between the past and the potential for a future where happiness is not just a memory but a living, breathing reality.
You whisper in Yelena's ear, "Tasha gave me the ring." Yelena is pulled from the movie, looking down at your hand that she's been playing with. "It was a promise ring. She got it for me in Budapest. Saying when things settled down, she'd do the whole down on one knee, and we'd have this beautiful wedding where she'd wear a black dress instead of a white one. Everyone would be there, and we'd go back to Budapest for our honeymoon. When we'd come back, we'd ask for a safe house where we could just live quietly between missions..."
You don't realize you’re crying until Yelena is wiping the tears from your face. "I'm sorry... I didn't... I'm ruining movie night, aren't I?" You choke on your own sobs, but Yelena just pulls you against her, hugging you tightly. "No, you haven't ruined anything, Y/N. It's okay."
You hold onto her, shifting slightly until she's in your lap, once again feeling like a puzzle piece as we bury our faces into each other's necks. "If you had gotten married, I hope she would have come found me to be her maid of honor... though I don't know how good I'd be at that," Yelena admits.
In that vulnerable moment, amidst the shared pain and unspoken understanding, Yelena's admission brings a bittersweet smile to your face. The weight of Natasha's absence still lingers, but in Yelena's presence, you find a different kind of strength—a strength born out of shared grief, compassion, and the subtle promise of moving forward, even if it's one tear-streaked movie night at a time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yelena wakes you up, gently calling your name and crawling onto your bed. "Y/N... Y/N..." She speaks softly, shaking your arm lightly. In your half-awake form, you turn to face her, pulling her into a tight embrace, her face against your chest. You can smell her shampoo, pomegranates, and make a noise of content. "Y/N, I have to go," Yelena whispers.
"No," You refuse, not letting her go. In fact, you hold her a little tighter. "Yes, I must. The widows need me," she insists.
"I really don't want you to go... I worry so much every time you go out that door. I know you're the world's greatest assassin, but so was Natasha before you," You confess. Yelena cups your cheeks. "I'll come back. I promise."
Natasha said those exact words too. You feel the tears in your eyes, spilling over before I have a chance to stop them. They're down your cheeks and running over her fingers. "I know words mean very little. I know Nat said similar words. I'm not leaving, though. I'll come back. It's just freeing more widows that have been found. That's all. It's safe. I promise. None of them come close to my skills."
Yelena wipes your tears and assures you that she'll come back. You know you have to let her go. "Please just come back safe, Lena. Please," You lean your forehead against hers. "I can't do this without you," You finally confess.
"I'll come back. I'll always come back. You can't get rid of me, not anymore. You're too deep into this," Yelena tells you, and you look at her, searching her face. "Lena..." Gods, you want to kiss her so badly just to show her how much you need her, but you promised Tasha...
Yelena leans in, kissing your cheek, almost reaching your lips. It's the first time she's ever kissed you in any way. "I'll be back. A few days, that's all," she reassures, placing another kiss on your cheek before she leaves. She looks at you one last time with a smile before heading out, leaving you there, curled up into a ball and crying. Now, you definitely couldn’t lose her.
The weight of her absence already looms large, and the brief touch of her lips on your cheek lingers like a promise in the air. As you try to gather yourself, the echoes of Yelena's words and the warmth of her fleeting kiss become the anchor in the storm of your fears. You know you must trust her, just as Natasha had asked you to trust her own choices.
In the solitude of your room, you cling to the hope that Yelena will return, that the few days she's away won't stretch into an eternity. The scent of pomegranates still lingers in the air, a reminder of her presence, and you find solace in the belief that your connection, however fragile, will endure the challenges that lie ahead.
"Please tell me you'll count that as the first move, Tasha?" You ask, directing your words to the air as you look at the ring on your finger. There's a moment of silent contemplation, a silent conversation with a memory.
Then, you get up and get dressed, facing the day with a mix of vulnerability and determination. The echoes of Yelena's departure still resonate in your mind, but as you glance at the ring, you find a subtle strength. The journey ahead may be uncertain, but in that quiet acknowledgment, you feel the weight of a promise made, a connection forged, and a future that holds the potential for healing and new beginnings.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yelena kissed my cheek; she almost kissed my lips, actually," You run your fingers across your cheek and the corner of your lip. "She had to go on a mission, and she told me the same words you did before you left me forever. I broke down. I seem to do that quite a bit with her now." You’re looking at Natasha's grave. It has been two years now since she left. "Tasha, I know we had our plans, and I will never forget them, but I want to move on... I need to, and in order to do that..." You pull the ring off your finger, twisting it between your fingers. "I need to give this back to you, darling." You’re trying not to choke on your tears as they flow freely down your face. You wrap it up in a little cloth, a red one, and bury it just a little ways down. "Please be happy for me, darling. You know she'll always treat me right." You are full-blown crying as you kiss her gravestone and head back home, hoping Yelena is finally home.
As you walk away, the weight of the past feels a bit lighter, as if the act of returning the ring is a step towards embracing the future. The pain is still there, the memories still vivid, but in the tears and the quiet goodbye, there's a sense of release and a tentative hope for what lies ahead. You head back home, your heart heavy but with a flicker of anticipation, hoping Yelena's absence will soon be replaced by her comforting presence.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Yelena comes back home, she finds you crying on the floor. She picks you up into her arms and holds you as you sob. When you finally come to from your crying session and register that she's back, you cup her cheeks and slam your lips against hers a little rougher than you intend. You soften up a bit when you realize how rough you truly were.
"You're back..." you whisper against her lips.
"I told you I'd be back," she whispers back, grabbing the back of your neck and pulling you back in. The two of you kiss, hungry and passionate, as if she's been waiting all her life for this moment. In the embrace of her arms, the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the future momentarily fade away. There's only the warmth of the present and the promise of a new chapter, where healing and love can coexist, a testament to the resilience of the heart after weathering the storms of loss.
"Yelena..." You pull back, leaning your forehead on hers.
"I've been waiting forever for that," Yelena admits.
"I know you were grieving, so I just wanted to be here for you, and I was never sure if I should act on my feelings," Yelena tells you, and you give her a soft, quick kiss this time.
"I talked with Tasha about it and promised I wouldn't make the first move," Yelena laughs. "When was this?" she questions.
"A year ago at her grave. You were on a mission, and I went to visit her just before starting up the Avengers company. I told her about how I was falling for you and to not hate me for it. The wind whipped around me, and so I promised I wouldn't make the first move. When you kissed my cheek before leaving, I took that as you making the first move. I visited Natasha yesterday and told her about it and gave back her ring. I left it with her so that I could move forward," You explain, feeling a mixture of vulnerability and relief.
Yelena brushes her thumbs against your tear-stained cheeks and listens to your words. "I promise I'll live up to your expectations. I'll do everything I can to do right by you, Y/F/N," she says, and you chuckle at the use of your full name.
"I know you will, and so does Natasha. I don't think I could be in better hands than yours, Lena," You say, feeling a sense of acceptance and hope for the future. The weight of grief begins to lift, replaced by the promise of a new chapter, and the knowledge that love, even after loss, has the power to mend and rebuild.

Pretty One
Pairing(s): Yelena Belova x Fem!Reader
Summary: A quiet day with your girlfriend ends with you having to leave your home when Natasha shows up in search for Yelena.
Word Count: 1,454
Warnings: Violence
Authors Note: This is based off of/inspired by the scene from Black Widow!
Tumblr media
You were currently laid on the sofa, snuggled up to your girlfriend. Her head rested on a pillow against the arm of the couch whilst your head was lying on her shoulder, her arms wrapped securely around you.
She had returned from a quick trip to the corner store just a couple hours ago for some basic food items when you got comfy on the cushions, and turned on some random show on the television.
You were quite interested in the show at first, but that was before Yelena began to card her fingers through your hair and caress your back with her calloused, yet extremely gentle hands.
The comforting actions from her had you dozing off. Not into a sound sleep per say, but into a very relaxed and tranquil state, so you were no longer focused on the show that still lightly ran in the background.
Yelena on the other hand was unsuccessful with paying attention to the plot at all when she had what she believed was a real life angel laying right in her arms, toying with the strap of the white tank top she wore.
Your mouth opened into a yawn as Yelena continued to play with your hair, "Tired? I know you didn't really sleep that well last night." she asked.
You shook your head, "No, just really content with you." you mumbled in response.
Yelena never thought she could make anyone feel anything other than pain and suffering after her time in the red room. But then she met you who introduced her to the world of emotions; the main one being love. The kind that everyone hopes and dreams for, but not everyone gets.
She turned to kiss your temple, "I love you, detka (baby), so much." she whispered against your head. "I love you too, Lena." you said the words back to her with just as much meaning.
A few moments of comfortable silence went by before she spoke up again, "What if we just ran away." she suggested.
"Ran away?" you repeated with a giggle and she hummed, lightly chuckling.
"Yeah, you know just go wherever our hearts take us and never look back." she elaborated on her out of the blue idea.
"Where would we go?" you questioned.
Yelena shrugged her shoulders, "Anywhere you want to." You thought for a moment before responding,
"I've always wanted to go to London."
"Then we'll start with London. And then maybe we'll go to Paris because it's the city of love, and well, you are my love." she said, making you giggle once again.
You continued to talk about that for a little bit before returning to the calming quietness of just your slow breathing and the television. This time you both had almost fallen asleep until Yelena froze. If there was anything being a trained ex assassin had given her, it was heightened senses.
She knew that something was not right, and the fact that she had you with her right now made her protective instincts immediately set off sirens in her brain.
"You okay, Lena?" you asked, feeling her body suddenly tense up.
Yelena gently sat up and untangled herself from you, making a frown form on your face.
"Where are you going?" you asked, opening your eyes to see her standing up.
"Dorogaya (darling), I need you to go into the other room and stay there. Do not come out until I come to get you myself." Yelena tells you.
"What?" you sat up in confusion.
"I know this sounds weird but I just need you to trust me, okay?" she spoke as she pulled a gun out from under the couch cushion, making your eyes slightly widen.
"What— what's going on? Is someone here?" you said in a panic, watching as she slipped on her blazer that was laying on a chair.
She contemplated her next words as she didn't want you to scare you, but she also didn't want to lie to you, "That's what I'm going to find out. But first I need to know that you're safe before I go anywhere. So please, just trust me." Yelena spoke softly to calm you.
You hesitantly nodded your head, and she took that as her cue to take your hand and lead you to the other room. She stopped in front of your wardrobe and opened the door, "Stay here, and wait for me to come get you."
She pressed a kiss to your forehead after you sat down. You murmured an 'Okay' before she shut the door and her footsteps disappeared down the hallway.
~~~
Meanwhile, Yelena made sure her gun was loaded before holding it out in front of her, "I know you're out there." her voice echoed through the apartment.
A few seconds passed before another voice responded, "I know you know I'm out here." it spoke, followed by the front door loudly opening and closing.
"Then why are you skulking about like it's a minefield?" you heard your girlfriend say.
"Cause I don't know if I can trust you." the voice that was unknown to you answered.
You could hear Yelena lightly chuckle, "Funny, I was going to say the same thing."
"So, are we gonna talk like grown-ups?" the intruder asked.
Yelena's tone dropped lowly, "Is that what we are?"
You couldn't see it, but Yelena and the owner of the unrecognizable voice were finally face to face, each pointing a gun at the other.
For a few moments you could only hear shoes patting against the floor when your girlfriends voice threatened, "Put it down before I make you."
"You put yours down." the voice shot back, "Watch your step."
Nothing but an eerie silence could be heard by your ears. That was until Yelena and the stranger decided to quit the small talk and handle the situation in a different manner.
It was clear to you that they were now fighting from the loud crashes and shouting that rang through the apartment floor. Objects were smashed, glass was shattering, furniture was breaking. You knew that your girlfriends was significantly more than capable of handling herself, but you were still worried about her.
You weren't exactly sure how long the commotion had gone on for when you finally heard the voice speak again, "Truce." it said. It scared you that Yelena sounded like she was gasping for air.
"You've grown up." the stranger commented.
'Grown up?' you thought. 'Did Yelena know this person? Why are they here? Why were trying to hurt your girlfriend?'
"No shit." Yelena responded coldly. You could hear footsteps coming closer to you when the door opened, revealing your Lena.
Her hair was tousled and she looked as if she had just ran a marathon, but it was her. She was seemingly unharmed, but you just had to make sure.
You cupped her face as she kneeled in front of you, "Lena? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" your eyes concerningly scanned her body.
"I'm alright, printsessa (princess), I promise." she reassured you.
Yelena caught you when you threw yourself into her arms and wrapped yours around her neck to hold her close, not caring about how sweaty she might be.
"Hey dorogaya, I need you to do something for me, okay?" she said as she pulled back.
You hummed, wordlessly telling her to continue, "You know those bags we have packed for emergencies under the bed in our room?" Yelena asked and you nodded, "I need you to go grab them for me, okay?"
You both knew that eventually you would have to get up and leave. With Yelena being a trained ex assassin she had inevitably made some enemies. You just didn't expect that day to come so soon.
So you knowingly complied, standing to your feet with her. When Yelena moved out from in front of you so you could walk away, you saw who you believed to be the intruder standing just a few feet away.
She had fiery red hair that was styled into a braid, and wore an all black outfit. You coward under her rather intimidating gaze, realizing that this stranger who just attacked your girlfriend had just watched your whole encounter.
You felt a hand rest on the small of your back, recognizing it as Yelena's, "Ignore her, detka (baby). She won't hurt you." she said, pressing a kiss to your hair as she gave her sister a warning glance.
Yelena gave you a nod when you looked at her for you to go ahead and leave the room. You quickly walked passed the redhead who looked at her younger sister with her signature smirk.
"She’s a pretty one." Natasha stated.
Yelena rolled her eyes, "Shut up."
Sabotage is a Girl’s Best Friend
Yelena Belova x F!R | Wanda x Natasha
Request (I lost it, but it was a simple / easy to remember- Jealous Yelena who sabotages every date R has until she’s caught) | WC: 3,959
Tumblr media
Yelena quirked a brow at you as you waltzed into her room, having slammed her door into the wall to emphasize your frustrations, you fell back onto her occupied bed and groaned, "That was the third failed date this month!"
"Maybe love isn't in your future Y/N Y/L/N."
"No, it is. I just think you're finding the duds."
Natasha looked down at you with a smirk, it was almost as if she knew something you didn't, but you knew there was no point asking. Because the redhead did know, but she would never say it to you for her little sister's sake.
——
She knows what it's like to have to learn how to be a human being again, to develop deep feelings like the ones Yelena so clearly has for you. It's not too far off from her agonizingly slow love story with Wanda. However, the witch was aware of her feelings the whole time.
You're oblivious. Painfully so. Watching you two together is entertainment for the couple.
Wanda's almost always ready to meddle, but the redhead always stops her. She knows that Yelena would hopelessly ruin things if forced into it too soon. Which would be a real shame, because Natasha was rooting for you wholly; Yelena was good at keeping you, the resident klutz, safe, and you softened Yelena's heart.
The blonde deserved to have someone she could be care free with, and that loved her.
Natasha knew you loved her, so, as soon as you left the room she began to harass her sister.
"Yelena, you can't keep doing this to her."
Yelena sighed, hands over her face in shame. "I have no other choice." Her shoulders shook as she held back a sob. "I can't lose her when I haven't even had a chance to have her yet."
"Then make a move," Nat urged, her hand tight as it squeezed her shoulder encouragingly. "I hate seeing her so dejected, you're going to give her a complex. Tell her the truth, then the both of you can have the happy ending you deserve."
Yelena scoffed, "Y/N deserves better Natalia."
"You are plenty enough Lena," Natasha sighed.
"Not for her." Yelena shook her head with a hoarse sob, and so the redhead pulled her into a tearful hug. "Y/N loves you just the same, and would be crushed to hear you say that."
You wiped away the tears, nodding towards the closed door in agreement as you heard them. A bittersweet smile overtook your face as you took determined steps towards your bedroom.
If she wouldn't make the damn move, then you would have to. Starting by catching her in the midst of sabotaging yet another date. One you'll have set up for the both of you after she hopefully confesses instead of running away.
Natasha left her sister's room half an hour later after she got Yelena to lay down as she sobbed. Putting the broken blonde to sleep, and letting the redhead make her way to your room fast. Part of her was relieved you'd eavesdropped, but the other part was ready to pummel you.
When she finally found you she was even more frustrated, ready to go off on you until you turned to her with a smile and reddened eyes.
"I was thinking I'd ask Tony to rent me the entire arcade," you murmured over the pen that was now in your mouth. Natasha smirked as she stared down at your long list of ideas.
"The Kraft Factory Tour, is that even a thing?"
You shrugged your shoulders and giggled, "I'm an Avenger, I'm sure they'd make it happen."
Your easy laughter made the redhead hopeful, but she still felt a protectiveness for Yelena. So, Natasha abruptly caught you by the chin, her eyes hardened as she peered into yours. You gave her time to figure out your intentions, and once she did you felt her finger tap your nose.
"You leave the date to me," she grinned, "It'll make Wanda so happy to help, and it gives you time to plan your monologue, make it good."
A week went by, giving the blonde false hope that you'd given up. Sadly she wasn't that lucky, so now Yelena paced the floor of the elevator as it slowly descended the many floors. How you kept finding people was truly of no shock to her. You were perfect, so much so that she knew that one day she'd lose you for good. To the one smart person who fought back, who saw through her bluff and to your worth.
It honestly upset her every time they ran out of the bathroom with their tails between their legs. Forfeiting a chance with you was a sin.
This time you were going to a rage room, it didn't seem like much of your thing, but she just assumed your partner (to never be) picked.
As the blonde exited the elevator she was in a hurry, which is why Tony should've known to steer clear of her path, but he stood in it.
"Belova, just the person I was looking for." She rolled her eyes, and attempted to walk by, but he mistakenly stopped her with a hand on her wrist. She spun their bodies and slammed him into a wall. "Speak your words, don't touch."
Tony stuttered, "W-we have a mission."
"I am off the clock," was her quick, dry reply before she left the building in a focused stride.
The brilliant idiot had cost her time, something she couldn't afford to lose any of while trying to stop you, once again, from falling in love. It was growing exhausting, your constant flow of dates never seemed to cease. They always gave her an uneasy feeling, but this time it was only heightened by the revelation that Sarah, your old mission partner from your shield days, had asked you out. The pre-established connection was anxiety inducing. What if she is the one?
That was preposterous... Yelena was the one.
Even if you didn't understand that yet, she knew that one day she'd have the courage to tell you. It was the only destiny she banked on.
Once she made it outside of the compound she wasted no time climbing onto her tricked out bike, weaving through traffic with ease as she raced to get to you. She parked a lot away then sprinted into the building to find you and the brunette with the pretty smile, and doe eyes wrapped up in a reminiscent embrace. Her heart sank, but she didn't let it stop her.
As if fate was on her side the woman excused herself from your chat, and headed off towards what she could only assume to be the restroom. It was the easiest rendezvous spot Yelena had come to find out with every date she'd foiled.
Yelena made her way there fast, her heart on the verge of exploding as she wondered if Sarah would finally be the one to fight back. Not that she'd win, the blonde hadn't taken things to the next level with her threats, but she was willing to do anything for your love.
"Listen up," she didn't waste time as she began her speech before the door even full opened. A frown overtook her face though when she waltzed in to find her sister's girlfriend on the counter instead, wearing a playful smirk.
"I'm listening Belova." Natasha took her sisters silent glaring as a warning, so she emerged from the shadows of the large stall and took the liberty of locking the door before the blonde could bolt. The clicking of metal made the blonde turn to shoot the glare her sister's way instead, it was basically heatless. Yelena was masking the hurt from the betrayal, she was beyond terrified that the plan set in motion here was to prevent her from stopping you.
"Move out of the way Natalia!" She growled, her fists flexed, and the redhead rolled her eyes. Yelena hated not being taken seriously so she resorted to slamming her into the door. "If she and Sarah leave here together I will never speak to you again. This isn't fair to do!"
"Yeah, you're right Lena, it isn't!" She scoffed and pushed her sister backwards. The blonde caught herself before falling to the ground and raised her fist, ready to deliver a punch that was halted by swirls of red tickling her skin.
"Let me go Wanda Maximoff, or so help me..."
Wanda cut her off, "If you two would stop the bickering then you'd know that's exactly why we're here. To help you to get your love."
Yelena narrowed her eyes at the smug smirk on her sister's face. Natasha knew just how to push her sister's buttons, but never in a way that would be truly damaging. It felt justified to her to scare the blonde, to show her that her childish behavior would fail her eventually.
"How will I get my love if you've trapped me?"
"Are you truly incapable of figuring it out?" Wanda groaned as she flitted around the space to prepare her station. "Y/N figured you out."
"N-no, I-I was so careful." Yelena's teeth pierced the skin of her lip as the anxiety began to consume her. "Who the hell told her?!"
Natasha pulled her into a hug, her hands ran down the younger girls back as she let her sob into the fabric overlaying her chest. Then as the sobbing ceased Natasha spoke: "You did."
"I did no such thing!" Yelena pulled back, her defenses even higher at the crazy insinuation. "Don't be crazy. I would never say anything."
"She heard us last week," Natasha fed her the obvious information, "I guess I didn't wait long enough for her to leave before I scolded you."
Yelena was once again ready to annihilate her sister, but Wanda yanked her into a chair, and magically bound her to the seat. "The point isn't to place blame, but it's instead to rejoice that the cats out of the bag, and to get you ready for the date. Save the simmering rage for the rooms full of priceless antiques." Wanda pouted at the thought of the old televisions being smashed to pieces, and for the first time the sisters were in sync with their eye rolls.
"Moya lyubov', are you serious?" Natasha couldn't stop from laughing. "Deadly." The look Wanda sent her lovers way stopped it.
"Seriously?" Yelena wasn't afraid of Wanda. "It's all just junk witchy. We're in the new ages. Like, did you know you could make mac and cheese in a cup now? How revolutionary."
Wanda slapped the both of them upside their heads with the flick of her red shaded hand. Wanda ignored their grumbles in protest as she pulled a stunning outfit from a garment bag. It was fancy enough for the dinner Wanda had booked later, but practical for the rage room you two wouldn't budge on. "Go change before the clock strikes 12 and your princess bails."
Yelena looked to Natasha, eyes wide as she processed the reality. Her fingers consequently turned white as she squeezed the hanger, and the redhead took a step forward so she could press her forehead to hers. "Y/N's waiting for you Yelena, she's not going to reject you."
"How do you figure? What if she only agreed to this so that she could yell at me?" Natasha chuckled softly, "Because, she asked her friend who is engaged to play the part tonight, and she picked this dingy place with you in mind."
Yelena fiddled with her hands as she was escorted to the massive gymnasium. "Breathe," Natasha whispered, then before she could she was briskly shoved into the lions den. It was a massive space, the biggest room they'd rented out to people actually, and she was enamored.
In the corner stood an attendant who was patiently waiting for her to meet him by a door. Her eyes flitted around the room to find a wide variety of things to break, along with weapons to use for the objective. If not for you waiting on her as well she would've kept her pace leisurely, but she quickly made her way over.
"Welcome ma'am," he greeted with a fake smile, she could empathize as that's how she approached most people at the compound.
"I am not old enough to be a ma'am," she said, her tone nothing short of menacing, and then her glowering expression fell into a smile at the sound of your distant laughter. She didn't even pay him anymore attention as she followed the sound to a room full of various white suits.
"Glad you'd graced me with your presence Belova, I was starting to think I was stood up."
Yelena smirked. "You are." You rolled your eyes, but contradicted your gesture with the casual slip of your hand into hers as the man walked in to give the both of you the spiel.
It was comical really, the barely legal boy-man was informing two highly trained Avengers how to be careful with their chosen weaponry. He'd been prepared to tell you about the ways in which you should hold a sledgehammer as you swing it when the blonde decided to tell him how she's broken many bones with them.
He left in a rush after that, and wished you both a good time. Yelena cackled as she put on the suit, meanwhile you only shook your head.
Once the two of you were alone, and the humor had faded the vibe suddenly became tense. So without a moment's hesitation you led the way back into the destruction zone and began to shatter things with a wooden baseball bat.
Yelena followed your lead, using the previously mentioned sledgehammer to destroy a line of white, old-timey washers and dryers. Both of your minds were running wild with worst case scenarios, and with each slam of your weapon into something that shattered they'd settle.
After about ten minutes of grunting and swinging it was you who finally broke the silence that Yelena found a bit too comforting. When the wood hitting the floor echoed through the space she gently set her weapon against the wall and slowly walked over to you.
You met her halfway, leaning onto a beaten up box-tv with your arms crossed. "Why did you never just tell me Lena? I-I would've waited."
"I didn't understand until it was too late," she admitted softly, you could hear the emotion she was desperately trying to suppress. "You went out with Darcy, and when it didn't work I was elated. Then there was Carol, who left the next day for space, but seeing her flirting was enough to make me want to throttle her."
"Everything there was just a fling. I wanted to ask you out, but every time love was brought up you cringed and mocked the concept. So, I started to try dating seriously considering it was my only remaining option. Then I just thought with every failed attempt that maybe I was the problem, just simply undesirable."
"No, don't say that, you're the most desirable!"
"I don't get it though Lena," you smiled sadly, "You could have anyone you want. Why me?"
Yelena frowned, something she'd never done with you stood in front of her before. Normally she couldn't help but to smile, but your words of self doubt wounded her greatly. In all the time she spent worrying she wasn't enough for you, she never considered you would be in the same boat as her. "Why not you Y/N?"
"Do you know how many gorgeous people would kill to date you Yelena? The line would be out the door, and yet you settle for me."
She shook her head and threw a hand in the air to hush you. "Don't do that. I do not ever settle. I win. This is no different. You are one of those gorgeous women, you are the most perfect."
You chuckled humorlessly, "I'm far from it."
"You are blind," the blonde snapped, she swung the bat and sent a few glass bottles into the wall before she dropped it and walked up to you with a few glass plates in her hand now.
"Comparing yourself to a world full of people who couldn't even catch my attention. They are all nothing when held up next to you." Yelena held up a gorgeous black plate adorned with fancy gold trimming, and beside it a boring white plate with faded floral printing. Then she smirked as the latter shattered into tiny pieces.
Yelena set the fancy dish to the side then she brought your hand to her lips for a sweet kiss. "In a world full of ugly, you are the beauty; If my line is out the door, then it's safe to say that yours has to be around the globe. Which makes sense with all the dates I've had to crash."
"You didn't have to," you teased with a short laugh to follow. "I would've said no if I knew you wanted me the same way I did you."
Yelena's mouth fell open, nothing but splutters left as her tongue practically fell limp. She was a trained spy, with Natasha at her side this whole time screaming of your reciprocation, but she still felt bamboozled at the revelation.
"I knew I loved you ever since I saw you at that charity drive," Yelena confessed with a shake in her tone that usually isn't there. "When you helped that legless toddler find her furrever friend in that little calico kitty that matched."
You narrowed your eyes playfully, "Yeah?"
Yelena nodded without hesitation, it was your genuine intention that had her fall into the pits of the unknown. At the time she took it to be envy, but then she saw you go on a date with Darcy and she quickly realized the truth as she met and befriended the green eyed monster.
"I win then," you challenged, "I loved you so much earlier than that." Yelena shook her head and groaned, "Please don't say at first sight, that's just illogical." You giggled, then pondered allowed, "What about second?"
Yelena tried to remember what day it could've been, but she was stumped. "You were new, and practically attached at Natasha's hip. If anyone even tried to get close you'd glare."
Yelena hummed, she didn't doubt you at all.
"Well, it was the middle of the night when I found you in the kitchen. You looked so sad, and for a moment I could feel this pull. Fate decided it best to let me slip only seconds later, and it was in the moment that you caught me, as I sorta fell for you, that I knew you were it."
"Oh," Yelena felt her entire body warm at the sweet origin story for your emerging story. "Yeah," you giggled before throwing yourself into her body, she initially stiffened, but in a blink she was pulling you even closer to her.
For a moment the room was silent, the two of you felt the serenity deep in your bones. Then, in true Yelena fashion she had to interrupt it. "By the way, I don't need people to kill for me, I can do it by myself, and for you of course."
"Oh goodness me baby, I will never tire of your humorous little quips." Yelena wanted to say she was being serious, her words weren't intended as a joke, but she decided to settle into the joy you felt, plus, her heart was too busy hammering at your chosen endearment.
Your session wasn't over yet, but there wasn't any anger left to latch onto, so you took her hand and escorted her to the changing room. Both of you helped the other out of the plastic suits, then on your way out you thanked the couple who helped you plan it all, and tossed the redhead her sister's keys. "Don't—."
"Don't crash the bike, I know... I can't believe you'd even say such a thing to me." Yelena went to rebuttal, but you pulled her away before the sisters could bicker—again.
The rest of the night was a dream, the two of you skipped out on the fancy dinner after only seeing food she'd never tried before. Yelena was a picky eater, and by that notion, if there were no chicken tenders on the menu (there weren't), then you could count her out.
She'd frowned initially, but gulped down her budding resentment for your sake. But you knew the girl like the back of your hand, so without a word you left a hundred on the table as a tip for the inconvenience, then grabbed her hand. "W-where are we going dorogoy?"
You spun around to face her with a bright smile after hearing the slip of a Russian pet name. It nearly sent the woman to her knees to have you that close, she wondered if you were like her own kryptonite. She didn't fully get the nerdy references Peter made, but she still tried.
"We are going to McDonald's." Yelena looked ecstatic for all of two seconds, then she pouted thinking she ruined the night. "I'm sorry."
"Yelena, this night belongs to us. Not Wanda, nor Natasha, it's about what we enjoy. You'd have likely barfed if I let you sacrifice your tastebuds for the sake of my own. Plus, I hate the ambiance of these sorts of restaurants."
Yelena nodded in understanding, the lack of lighting made it near impossible for her to even see the menu full of options she didn't favor. It made gawking at you near impossible as well.
"McDonald's is so much better, they have a play center, there's options for all, and most importantly I can actually see you smile."
"I can still eat here if you want Y/N," she tried, but to her delight you'd playfully shook your head and then caught her completely off guard. You'd leaned forward to peck her cheek, you felt as her lips turned as you lingered, then you both felt your stomach's swarming joyfully.
When you once again tried to walk away you were stopped by a hand on your wrist that seamlessly moved to your waist. Yelena held your gaze for a long moment, then as she found no hesitation from you she leaned forward and it was as if all of her worries disappeared.
Under the dimly lit streetlights in the barren parking lot the blonde felt her heart mend. As your lips perfectly slotted between her own, and your body melted beneath the pads of her fingertips it was as if the world rewarded her.
A lifetime of pain endured led her to this moment, with your body pressed against the door of your car. She reasoned it was all worth it for this kiss that signified a beginning.
One that everyone knew to be long overdue.
"You ready to go eat moya lyubov'?" Natasha whispered against the nosy witches cheek as she nuzzled against her affectionately from behind. "The dinner reservation expire soon."
Wanda watched as Yelena's hand began to wander, and suddenly the matchmaker trance was upended. "Let's go Natty bear, I want some caviar, this day has officially drained me."
Natasha bit back her snark in favor of not sleeping on the couch, her neck had yet to recover from the last time. She resided with silence, even if they both knew the only thing to be significantly drained tonight is her wallet...
At least the card she gave to Yelena was Tony's.
note: I know it’s not christmas but I love this fic and couldn’t really wait an entire year :)
-⧗-
A classic Christmas movie played quietly on the tv in the living room, as the two women sat on the couch, snacking on pretzels and chips. The sun had set, so the room was lit up in a multitude of colour coming from the festive lights strung up outside.
Y/n had her feet tucked underneath her as she curled up on the couch, leaning into the arm rest. Yelena was stretched out across the seat, her toes occasionally jabbing into Y/n's thigh if she wanted to annoy her. It was a chilled out kind of evening, one they both needed.
They both reached for the m&m's, their hands bumping, making them both blush. "This is nice" Y/n hummed, before throwing a handful of candy into her mouth. Yelena nodded in agreement.
"We should make Christmas cookies tomorrow. Or gingerbread?" Y/n asked, hoping to get a reaction from her girlfriend. But Yelena just shrugged, her eyes not moving from the tv screen.
Y/n furrowed her brow in concern. "Lena?" She asked, turning her body to face the blonde.
"Hm?" Yelena hummed in response.
"You ok baby?" Yelena still didn't turn around, but Y/n knew not to push. She looked deep in thought. "What's going on inside that gorgeous head of yours?"
"It's the first Christmas" Yelena whispered.
"Babe, we've been dating for 3 years. This is our 3rd Christmas together." Y/n laughed, trying to cover up the confusion she had over her girlfriends comment.
"It's the first Christmas without her" Yelena's voice wobbled dangerously and Y/n watched her jaw tense as she tried to keep the tears at bay.
A silence hung over the room, only broken by the quiet mumbling of voices coming from the tv. Y/n could see Yelena's throat bobbing up and down as she swallowed thickly, and she tried to figure out what to say next.
But she didn't say anything. Instead, Y/n climbed off the couch and knelt in front of her girlfriend, gently placing a hand on her knee.
"Hey, Lena, look at me."
Yelena turned her head to look at her, her eyes refusing to let the tears spill over.
"I know you miss her. It's ok to. But she's not fully gone." Yelena tilted her head in confusion. "She's in here. Always." Y/n placed her hand over Lena's heart, and the blonde placed her hand on top, giving it a light squeeze. "Why don't we go visit her on Christmas, yeah? You can put that gift, yeah I know you've got one in your closet, you can put it next to her. I'm sure she'll love it."
Yelena smiled a bit at Y/n's words, before pulling the smaller girl off the floor and into her lap for a hug. The pair sat in each other's arms, wrapped in the tightest hug.
"Why don't we finish this movie and then go snuggle in bed. And then we can paint each other's nails all festive!" Y/n suggested, and Yelena nodded.
Y/n stood up off her girlfriend's lap and made her way over to the fridge, pulling out 2 glass coke bottles. She placed them on the coffee table and Yelena instantly brought hers up to her mouth, shuddering at the cold bubbles. The pair clinked their bottles together, Yelena smiling at the sight.
"You 'cheers' your bottle how Nat used to. She always held the top and clinked the bottom. Though one time she was so rough she broke the top off my vodka. I made her buy me a new one though." Yelena's eyes lit up as she told the story and Y/n smiled, proud to see her girlfriend talking about happy memories of her sister.
Loud christmas music started up on the tv, making both girls jump. They pulled their focus back to the movie for a while, before Yelena spoke up again.
"Y/n/n?” Yelena whined.
"Yessssss??" Y/n mimicked the tone her girlfriend used.
"Stop it!" She giggled. "Can you braid my hair?"
"What's the magic word?" Y/n smirked.
"Cyka" Yelena joked, seeing Y/n raise an eyebrow.
"I think you'll find it's 'please'"
"Fine! Please... cyka"
"Oh you are this close" Y/n made a tiny gap with her fingers "to sleeping on the couch tonight." She huffed.
"Ok ok. Please baby. Please can you braid my hair?"
Y/n just rolled her eyes. "You know how to braid! Do it yourself."
Yelena crawled closer to her girlfriend. "Yeah but you do it better. Plus, I want you to do it how you did Nat's."
Y/n softly smiled at how vulnerable her love was being. Yelena was very rarely like this. "Ok. Come on. You can sit here." She patted the floor between her legs, on which Yelena instantly plopped herself down on.
Y/n grabbed the hair tie from the table and began sectioning Yelena's hair into 3 parts, intricately weaving them to create a dutch braid. Yelena kept stuffing her mouth with m&ms whilst Y/n moaned at her to keep still so the braid would be straight.
Y/n braided all the way down her head until she got to the top of Yelena's neck. "I'll braid a little bit more and then tie it off, because your hair is still wavy from today's braids and I think it looks cute."
As Y/n tied off the braid, Yelena reached her hand up to feel her new hairstyle, only to have her hand slapped away.
"Don't touch it! I'm not done yet." Y/n ordered, meaning Yelena just stuck her hand back into the bowl of candy, chewing loudly. Y/n rolled her eyes and started pulling the braid out to give it some volume. She also pulled at the hair on top of Yelena's head, to add volume to the front.
"Now you can touch it." She said, sinking back into the couch cushion.
Yelena jumped up and walked over to the mirror, turning her head to check out her hair. "I love it!" She turned back to Y/n, who was watching her with adoration in her eyes. "And I love you!" She ran over and tackled Y/n into a hug, planting kisses all over her face and neck. The pair connected their lips and Y/n rolled over to straddle Yelena, swiping her tongue across the girl's lower lip. Yelena moaned and opened her mouth, but they were interrupted by Yelena's phone buzzing.
She groaned, pushing Y/n off her lap and walking over to the table where it was on charge. Y/n watched her girlfriend's expression change from happiness to stone cold.
"Who is it?" Y/n asked.
Yelena continued to stare at her phone, before muttering "I need to go."
She stormed over to the cupboard and pulled out a black bag, emptying its contents onto the floor. Y/n's eyes never once left Yelena, confused as to what was happening.
The blonde assassin stripped out of her plaid pyjama pants and oversized sweatshirt, before slipping into her black suit, zipping it up all the way. Y/n eyes went widened in realisation.
"Lena.." Her voice was dangerously low.
"Don't, Y/n" Yelena warned as she strapped her widow bite cuffs onto her wrists.
"You found him, didn't you." She asked, afraid of the answer. She knew Nat would be heartbroken if she knew what her sister was doing, but Yelena wouldn't listen. She always stormed out whenever Y/n brought it up.
"Don't wait up for me." Yelena strapped her gun to her thigh and checked her grappling hook was secure in her belt, her back now completely towards Y/n. She knew if she looked towards her girlfriend, all she'd see is disappointment, so she chose not to.
"Lena please. It's Christmas..." No response. "You know Nat wouldn-"
"Don't say her name!" Yelena growled.
Y/n didn't say anything, only swallowing as she saw how tense Yelena was. She carefully got up off the couch and walked over to Yelena, who had picked up her head cover and goggles. She wrapped her arms around the assassin's waist, leaning her chin on her shoulder.
"Stay safe. Please. I cant lose you too." She whispered, her voice dangerously close to breaking. Yelena turned around and pressed a kiss on Y/n forehead, wrapped her muscular arms around her shoulders.
"I'll be ok. I'll be back before you know it. Go to sleep baby and I'll be there when you wake up." Y/n sighed, inhaling her girlfriend's scent one more time before they both broke away from the hug.
Y/n helped her put her head cover on, adjusting the goggles so they sat right on her face. She kissed Yelena once more on the cheek, before letting her walk out the door of the apartment.
After Yelena left, Y/n walked to the window on the opposite side of the room and watched the pavement as she saw Yelena walk out of the main door and onto the street. She followed her girl's figure until she turned a corner and disappeared from view.
Y/n took a shaky breath in as worry started to take over. Her hands shook slightly as she clasped them together, taking one last look out of the window before walking back into the living room.
She sunk onto the couch and placed her head in her hands, tears flowing down her cheeks. One hand made it's way to the necklace that hung around her neck, her fingers clutching onto the silver arrow charm.
"I'm sorry Nat" She whispered, before her voice broke into sobs.
The once festive apartment now had a darkness hanging over it, one that should not be associated with Christmas.
The pressing weight of your backpack dug into your shoulders as you quickly made your way to Yale’s school of art. Though your major was in English, you had connections that allowed you to use the photography facilities located elsewhere. Your bag was full of books, film equipment, and the negatives that you were anxious to develop.
It was college game day, the Harvard vs. Yale game to be more specific, so shoving through blue and red crowds of students was at the bottom of your list. Your trip to the dark room had to be short because even though you hated the idea of all things sports, you felt that tradition outweighed your personal grievances.
As you shut the door to the room and found yourself alone with the quiet, red space, your mind seemed to lighten. The pictures you had brought with you made their way out of your bag and into the developing process. You went through the usual motions until you hung them up to dry. Before you were beautiful headshots and silhouettes of your roommate, Yelena.
While most were taken with the consent of Yelena, there were some too extraordinary to possibly miss out on. The red hues accentuated the curves you so desperately longed to stroke. Of course, this information was unbeknownst to her.
She was the reason why you were so anxious to develop the pictures. Looking through the lense that wonderful day made you so much more excited to see them all finished. The day had been an exciting one. During the summer before the two of you went back to school you had a day at the beach. The weather was perfect, and she was perfect. She wore this lilac swim set that complimented her blonde hair and summer kissed skin so well you thought you would never be able to tear your eyes away from her.
As you went through each picture of her smiling, laughing, and being her usual self you came across the pictures that you tried so hard not to take. Your desire got the better part of you at this moment. The pictures arose of her laying belly down on her towel, a perfect view of her toned back paired with her other curves you could barely speak of. It was hard not to think about that day without becoming wildly sad that she had no idea you liked her with everything inside you.
These few intimate pictures would go where the rest of them are; hidden away in your journal. It was easier this way because you didn’t want to ruin your friendship that you valued so much. But what if she felt the same? You pulled yourself out of your delusions or else you might start to have hope.
She must have read your mind because your phone started ringing and as you pulled it out of your bag, Yelena’s face was vibrating on your screen.
“Hello?” you answered
“Where are you? You better not still be in that stupid dark room!” The sound of massive crowds were loud on the other side of the phone, but your voice drowned out every noise that could be taking place.
“Ha, funny story…”
“Seriously! The game starts soon, y/n. Hurry!”
“You miss me or something, Belova?”
She chuckled once. “And if I did?”
There was silence on your end because your one moment of bravery was already spent, leaving you speechless. “Uhm I’ll start heading your way right now. I should only be about 15 minutes out.”
“Perfect, I’ll save you a seat!”
“Thanks, Lena. Love you, bye,” you said naturally.
It was only then did you realize the words that slipped out of your mouth. Love you, really? You hoped that she thought it wasn’t how you really meant it.
After your stupid mistake, you took your pictures, tucked them away in your journal, and took off out of the building. The day was sunny but the fall crisp in the air took the edge off of the heat from the sun. Even from far away you could hear the triumph of the marching band playing their game day songs. Though your dislike of sports was one thing, there was a certain feeling you got on days like this; the music, the people, the adrenaline, that really made you succumb to the American tradition.
Finding Yelena in the crowd would be the easy part, the hard part would be keeping your eyes off her the entire afternoon. Luckily, she generally picked the same area each game day to sit so it wouldn’t be an extreme challenge to spot her out.
Your suspicion came true when you saw her jumping up and down a few aisles up from the front towards the 40 yard line. She was dressed in her usual Yelena chic, but with a hint of school spirit. You smiled to yourself at her excitement for the game and waited to see if she noticed you walking up to greet her.
“You’re here!” she yelled. She shuffled through other people on her row and fell into your arms. The strong smell of her cologne filled your nose and warmed your heart. You hugged her tightly back and squeezed the leather jacket that was draped around her. “You almost missed the game,” she whined.
“Lena, kickoff hasn’t even started, but I see that hasn’t stopped you from starting early.” You eyed the cold beer she had in her Yale koozie.
“Oh hush and let me be. Now get in there so we can watch.” As you were sneaking past other students Yelena tapped you on the ass and giggled. This was nothing unusual for Yelena, but each time she did it, it made your cheeks glow red.
The two of you settled into your places in the stadium surrounded by a couple of your friends and watched the game begin. The first half of the game was intense with each team up and down on scores. When the buzzer sounded to notify it was halftime everyone seemed to sigh in relief. The crowds started to shuffle again to take a quick intermission before the second half.
“So y/n, what photos were you able to get this time?” Yelena asked.
It was the question you were avoiding answering. If you pulled out the few you wanted to show her, the rest you spent your time hiding would be exposed as well.
“Oh they weren’t anything important, just a couple rolls I hadn’t developed yet.” You tried to play it cool not to give it away.
“Everything of yours is important to me.” Her saying that just made it so much harder to keep them all a secret. “Come on, please show me.”
She gave you her best pouty face and it was so unfortunate that it worked. You rolled your eyes and tried to open the journal in your bag so you could find the pictures you wanted her to see. Once they were all collected you passed them over to her and her face lit up.
“The day at the beach! I remember these.” She flipped through them with a grin on her face. She laughed when the picture of you popped up with your pants soaking yet from the ocean waves. “You were so pissed.”
“Pissed is an understatement,” you added. She smiled up at you and your stomach was tied up in knots. You weren’t sure whether it was the dimples that just so sneakily showed up, her rosy lips, or the bright green eyes that you could finally see without her sunglasses getting in the way.
“These are so amazing— you’re amazing. I need copies of these,” she begged.
“Anything for you,” you smiled.
“Anything?” Yelena smirked.
Your cheeks darkened red. “Shut up.” You shoved her a little with your shoulder.
By the time you showed all your creations off to Yelena the second half of the game was in full swing.
The second was more intense than the first due to Yale being behind for most of the game. Yelena was starting to become too anxious for your liking, and you hoped for her sake that you guys could pull out the win. There was a minute left on the clock and Yelena practically had your arm in a chokehold.
“Fucking run the ball, jackass!” Yelena yelled.
“Hey now, you wanna simmer down a little for me?” you asked, hoping to calm her down a bit.
She chuckled a little and leaned into your arm more. “Sorry, sorry. Anything for you,” she mocked from your previous words.
She quickly turned her head back so she could enjoy the last minute of the game. Her grip only became tighter around your arm as the clock ticked down to the wire. The whistle sounded to indicate that Yale called for a timeout. They needed to sort out their plans if they were going to try and pull out this win. They were down 28-24 with only around 30 seconds to go.
Once they were back in the game the crowd went wild, Yelena included. Number 13 got a hold of the ball and ran all the way to the end zone for a touchdown. Yelena screamed like she never had before and threw her hands up in the air. You cheered along with her at your school’s win. Yelena jumped into your arms out of excitement and you held her tightly as you swept her up in the air.
“We did it, Lena!” you cheered.
She found her footing back on the ground and she grabbed your face and looked into your eyes. “We did it!” The pure shock on your face made her recoil back a bit which resulted in her having matching cheeks just like yourself. “Uh- I- I’m sorry.”
“No, no. You didn’t do anything wrong,” you smiled. “Let’s just get out of here before we’re all packed in.”
You said goodbye to your friends right before a Yelena grabbed your hand to lead you through the crowd. You knew it meant nothing, but having your hand in hers was a dream come true.
When you had made it out of the crowd, it seemed as though the two of you forgot you were still linked together. You quickly broke it off before she could say anything about it.
“So, are we going to keep walking with nowhere to go or are you taking me out?” Yelena smirked.
“Am I what?” you questioned.
“You really are worked up today.” Yelena laughed, but you knew it was true and you didn’t know how else to hide it.
“Why don’t we go back to my dorm? My roommate isn’t there like usual so we could watch a movie or something?”
“Do you have popcorn?” she asked and you nodded. “Then it’s a deal.”
The two of you talked and laughed on the walk to your dorm. Like usual, Yelena made it so difficult to not stare at her. She had such a unique confidence that drew you deeper and deeper into her presence. The way she carried herself was like no other.
When you made it into your room Yelena immediately started searching for your snacks that you kept in the drawers under your bed. You set your things down on your desk and sat down in your chair.
“Do you mind if I borrow some of your clothes?” Yelena asked.
“I don’t know why you even ask anymore, Lena. Your closet consists of half of my clothes anyway,” you laughed.
She rolled her eyes and started taking her clothes off to change. Trying not to watch her change was not easy to come by. You turned around in your chair and pretended to unload your back from the day. What Yelena didn’t know is that your mirror allowed the perfect angle to see different parts of her.
What really got you was the matching black bra and underwear that revealed itself as she took her clothes off. This surprise caused you to knock a few things off your desk in the process, one of them being your journal. Naturally, Yelena turned around to try and help.
“What did you do, get angry and throw things off the desk?” Yelena laughed. It was awful timing to have other pictures that Yelena did not see poking out of your journal. “What are these?”
“Oh, you don’t have to-”
“Y/n, what are these?”
“Just pictures…”
Yelena stared at you puzzlingly as she picked up the journal off the floor and opened it to reveal the hidden pictures inside. Her brows furrowed as she inspected each one in great detail.
“Y/n, these are…so beautiful.”
You stood there staring down at the pictures or anywhere else in the room, just so you didn’t have to look at her.
“Why didn’t you show me these?” Yelena’s voice was softer now, more gentle. “Y/n?”
“I-I don’t know… I guess I thought you would think it was weird,” you replied shyly.
“Why would it be weird?”
Shit. If you told her why then she would know how you felt, but if you say nothing at all that’s not any better. You were stuck.
“I don’t know…”
She searched your face from any indication of an explanation. There was so much happening that you almost forgot Yelena was half naked.
“These are beautiful.”
“Only because you’re in them,” you bravely said.
Yelena blushed, something you didn’t see very often. “Damn y/l/n, you sure do know the way to my heart.”
“I’m serious.” You felt like your world had stopped at the thought of where this was going. “You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, Yelena. How could I not take those pictures that day?”
Yelena was quiet now. You weren’t sure whether this was good or bad. You were tired of being subtle, especially now that you had her right where you wanted her.
“I don’t know what to say,” Yelena said. Her eyes were full of something you hadn’t seen before.
You looked at her for a moment trying to build up your confidence one last time because you knew if you didn’t then you would never be able to do this.
“For once Belova, I would love it if you said nothing at all.” You stepped closer so you could delicately slide your hands up behind her neck. She looked taken off guard, but she definitely was not fighting it. When Yelena took her hands and placed them around the straps of your overalls and pulled you closer so you were face to face, you knew she might’ve wanted this just as much as you.
“Just kiss me already,” she whispered close enough you could feel the breath on your lips. With her words you threw your lips against hers in a kiss that you waited much too long for. Your lips moved against hers as your hands were tangled in her blonde waves. Yelena pulled and grabbed at anything on you just to make you even closer to one another.
You shifted your position to try and push yourself against Yelena so that she may lean against the bed. You knew exactly what your intentions were as of now, but you were not sure how Yelena would feel about it.
The first brush of her tongue against yours sent shivers down your spine and you weren’t sure if she heard your quiet moan or not. You saved your restraint for so many months, so now there was nothing holding you back. Your lips traveled away from hers to down her soft neck. You placed rough and hungry kisses along the nape of her neck and you could tell just by her demeanor that she was having a hard time keeping quiet.
“Uhm, what about your roommate?” Yelena asked in between heavy breaths
“What about them?”
“What if they, you know, walk in?” You must have found a sweet spot on her neck because her question ended with a whine.
“They’re never here.”
“But what if-”
“Just shut up already,” you said.
You smiled against her lips as you threw her shoulders down on the bed as gently as you could. It was hard to take things slow when you had been craving exactly this for far too long.
As your hungry lips continued to move against Yelena’s, you found your fingers playing with the band of her underwear. Your fingers traced all along the skin that was covered.
“I want to see every part of you that was hiding in these photos,” you said. Your mind went back to the day you took those sexy pictures of her and it made you even more desperate for what was hiding beneath Yelena’s garments.
“I just need you to touch me,” Yelena said, breathless. “Please touch me.”
You were quick to pull down her panties to reveal a sight you never thought you would have the pleasure of seeing. Even the panties that brushed against her pussy made her wince in pleasure.
“Please,” begged Yelena.
After undressing her bottom, in one swift motion you unhooked her bra.
“You want me to touch you like this?”
You placed your lips around one of her nipples as you watched her head fall into the bed. Your tongue made its way to circle around her nipple, slowly building up her desire.
Without thinking, you slightly tugged on her nipple with your teeth. Yelena moaned just loud enough for you to hear. It was the most beautiful sound that you had been dying to hear since you met her.
You wanted to move on further.
“Or I could maybe touch you like this?”
Your hand was almost shaking as it made its way down to get center. Your fingers slowly but surely made small circles on her clit. Now, Yelena was panting with lust and trying to keep quiet despite what you wanted.
“Fuck, Lena. You’re so wet.” You couldn’t help yourself from pointing out the obvious. The wetness that covered her only made yours grow.
Yelena had her mouth covered now, most likely paranoid that others would hear her like she had said earlier.
“I want to hear you,” you demanded.
Yelena was moaning softly through her hand now, a reaction to your words.
“Be a good girl and take your hand away from your mouth. I want to hear you.”
She did as you wished and removed her hand. The hand that previously resided over her mouth was now gripped onto the bed.
You took a minute to admire her before moving on further. Her body was even more gorgeous than you could’ve ever imagined. Her toned arms that held on so tightly to the bed, her curves that wavered like the ocean down her body, and her perfectly kissed skin, just how you liked it.
“Maybe you want me to touch you… like this?”
You went even further and slowly slipped your fingers inside her pussy. As you sunk your fingers deep inside her, Yelena became even more worked up.
“Oh fuck,” she moaned. “Please keep going. It feels so good.”
Seeing Yelena drown in the pleasure of your fingers inside her was something you never thought you would live to see.
“You feel so good, baby.” Yelena seemed to like the name because she let out a long whine. “Good girl. Be louder for me.”
You loved the power you had over her in such a short amount of time.
The pace of your fingers stayed quite steady now. Yelena moaned with each stroke that went deeper in her pretty pussy. There was one more thing that you longed to do before she reached her limit.
“You want me to touch you like this, baby?”
Finally, with your fingers still keeping a rhythm inside her, you lowered yourself down on the bed so that you could taste her.
Your tongue made its way to make contact with her clit. Yelena was the loudest now, and with her noise came her restless body. Much like her, you were just as overcome with pleasure.
Her hips bucked into your face with each increasing second. Your tongue explored every single part of her, almost as if you would never get to do it again. Your fingers sped up now that you could tell she was getting closer.
“Holy fuck, right there,” Yelena moaned. “Keep going, I’m so close.”
“Good job, baby,” you murmured. “I want you to cum around my fingers.”
Your words only sped up the process more. Her hips moved even faster which made it hard for you to keep your pace. Your tongue and fingers moved rapidly as she started to reach the peak of her climax
“I’m gonna cum baby,” Yelena said breathlessly.
All at once, Yelena let out a loud stream of moans that you were sure echoed through the hall in your dorm. You didn’t care. You were happy to have her all to yourself, and now, everyone knew it too.
“Good girl, let it all out,” you praised her.
Yelena laid there on your bed to try and catch her breath. You couldn’t help but watch the result of your doings as she looked so worked up.
You took your last opportunity to soak her body in by kissing all the way up her thighs, stomach, chest, and face. Yelena seemed to be hiding her face a bit, most definitely different from her usual demeanor.
You moved her hand that shielded her face. “You okay?”
She gave a thumbs up
“Does that mean it felt okay?”
She had a surprised look on her face. “The entire hall heard me and you think it didn’t feel good?!”
You laughed. “Just checking.”
You both laid next to each other for a while in silence before Yelena spoke up.
“So…how long have you felt this way?”
“When did you start school here?”
“Uhm…two years ago?”
“Then two years.”
Yelena looked over at you. “Really?”
“Really,” you nodded. “How could I not, just look at you.” Yelena smiled at your words.
“Well, I’ve worked up an appetite after all that fun. What do you say we make some popcorn and watch a movie and pretend like no one heard all of that?”
“That sounds perfect to me.”
The two of you spent the rest of the night in each other’s company talking and reveling in the day’s events. You laid in bed thinking about how happy you were to have taken those pictures that day on the beach.
Ngl, being able to edit things here is cool, other media don't have this option so all you have to do is delete or slowly die every time you remember that mistake🥲
WELL– in that case it would be really fun to see Yelena just being a big softie to reader and end up getting caught by her friends doing so, then everyone would make fun of her or something (it would probably be their last time making fun of something in their lives, poor souls.
I saw that you still have things to write, so no hurry (and good luck with all this-). Also, Your writing is really good so it will be good anyway, but I'm sure you'll get it!
passive-aggressive magic tricks [Y.Belova]
Tumblr media
pairing: yelena belova x reader
summary: a fun game night with your friends takes a turn when they realize how much of a soft dork the russian turns into when she's around you.
warnings: none, i think [except peter being verbally attacked every other paragraph lmao]; so much dialogue; a weirdly written game of uno; just...so much chaos; never written for yelena before so feel free to yell at me if she's too ooc in this one
wordcount: 1.2k
a/n: this gif makes me feel things gonna start this off by saying that this is meant to be romantic but you can read it as platonic if you want. i know everyone has an opinion on yelena's sexuality and not everyone will agree with mine and that's okay! [just don't be a jerk about it. i personally think yelena is a demiromantic asexual so do with that what you will] ALSO, this is so chaotic and borderline nonsensical and you can blame 🌟 for making me think about yelena playing uno that one time. ALSO ALSO, thank you for the vote of confidence, lovely anon, this was actually really fun to write and i hope you enjoy <3
* * * * * * *
“This sucks,” Kate declares with a pout.
“Don’t be such a crybaby, Kate Bishop.” Yelena’s words only make the archer’s pout deepen which makes the whole situation feel even more ridiculous.
“Yeah, Kate,” you jump in. “You’re the one who started talking shit in the first place.”
An offended gasp escapes her lips at your accusation. “I wasn’t talking shit! I was being honest about my skills.”
This time, Peter cuts in before the blonde gets a chance to make fun of the archer again. “Guys, I thought we decided against Monopoly so we wouldn’t fight.”
“Fighting is Yelena’s love language,” you reply with a shrug.
You pretend not to notice the way the Russian’s lips quirk up into a small smile and instead focus on Kate and her awful decision-making skills. It takes her a few extra seconds and she still manages to choose the most annoying card in her hand.
“It took you two minutes to throw in a plus-four?” Peter questions, clearly doing his best to not sound judgemental.
“Shut up and take the cards, Pete.”
The boy grumbles something you don’t quite catch but Kate is quick to punch him in the arm, earning herself a kick to the shin. Their dynamic is certainly…interesting and you can’t stop yourself from wondering how much of it comes from being two only children attempting to one-up each other.
Yelena leans in toward you, pretending to whisper. “Why are we hanging out with them again?”
The pair clearly overhears her considering both the glare and the pout that gets thrown your way. You merely shrug in response, attempting to shield your cards from her expert gaze. “It’s…entertaining, I guess.”
“You guys are jerks,” Kate says, speaking the thoughts Peter is far too nice to vocalize. (It’s definitely not because he’s terrified of getting on Yelena’s bad side.)
“And you suck at Uno.”
She rolls her eyes at you but decides not to reply. The small moment of silence allows Peter to take his turn and the game continues…until Yelena decides to betray you.
You’re not fully paying attention to the strategies each one of your companions is forming which means you don’t realize it when they decide to team up against you.
You’re only four cards away from winning and the blonde beside you can’t stop herself from sneaking a look at your deck. Kate somehow manages to catch her in the act and the two stare each other down until the archer raises an eyebrow, silently asking to be a part of the Russian’s plan.
A plan that quickly leads to Kate placing down another plus-four card and Peter being thrown one of Yelena’s under the table.
“We can stack, right?” He asks, mainly in an attempt to keep you from noticing what they’re doing.
“Yeah, that’s fine,” you reply with a shrug. “Just don’t be surprised when Yelena pulls out a knife from her boot.”
The joke gets a few chuckles, and a slightly concerned look from the young Avenger.
“Do not worry, Spider-Boy, I promised y/n I wouldn’t threaten you…again.”
“Right…” Peter’s clearly not convinced but he throws in his card anyway.
You turn to face Yelena with a smug smirk. “Sorry, babe, but it looks like I’m on my way to winning this round.”
“You sound like Kate Bishop.” She playfully rolls her eyes at you but the glint in her eyes shows off more amusement than annoyance. “I hope you handle losing better than she does, though.”
“Hey!” You and the archer both voice your protests, albeit for different reasons, as the blonde slams down the last plus-four card needed to ensure you won’t win any time soon.
This time around, she’s the one who looks at you with a smug grin but you’re too busy being dramatic to fully appreciate how good she looks when she’s being competitive. It’s genuinely just a stupid card game and yet you pull out all the tricks you’ve learned over the past few months to get the Russian to melt into the huge softie she is at heart.
“Oh, come on, that was mean.” You pull on your best impression of Kate’s wounded puppy dog look. A look that includes slightly wide eyes and an incredibly deep pout.
A pout Yelena has never been good at resisting. (But only when it comes to you, much to the archer’s dismay)
She, literally and figuratively, keeps her cards close to her chest but you catch the way her free hand twitches slightly, almost as if she’s fighting to keep herself from touching you. It’s strange how affectionate she wants to be with you when she’s always been the first to pull away from a hug, the first one to scoot away when someone sits too close.
Being guarded had always felt like second nature to her until you came along.
Her hand reaches out before she can stop it, landing on your knee and giving it a soft yet reassuring squeeze. It's a subtle reminder that underneath all her sarcasm and the rough edges, she cares about you. A lot more than she ever thought herself capable of.
“It’s just a game, sweetheart.” The words are a mere whisper but somehow the person with the worst attention span you’ve ever seen manages to overhear them.
“Did you just call y/n ‘sweetheart’?” Kate blurts out, clearly far too shocked to worry about her safety. “You actually have feelings?”
“Wait, did she really say that?” Peter’s slightly more cautious but there’s both awe in curiosity shining in his brown eyes.
“I heard her!”
“I think you hit your head too hard on your last mission, Bishop,” you reply, trying to steer the conversation away the second Yelena starts glaring at your friends.
Despite all her other skills, Kate is still awful at reading the room so instead of accepting the safety you’re offering, she decides to be stubborn like always. “Don’t lie to me, y/n, I know what I heard. Yelena’s just a big-”
“A big what?” The blonde cuts in with the most threatening glare she can manage. Which, considering she’s an ex-assassin, is quite effective at shutting the archer up.
“Um…” You can practically see the wheels spinning in the brunette’s head as she tries to come up with something different to say. She clearly fails based on the words that come out. “A big softie..?”
“Oh, Kate,” you sigh. “You’re never going to learn to stop poking the bear, huh?”
“What do you mean?”
Her confusion lasts for about a second before Yelena shoots up from the couch and lunges toward her. The archer gets the message pretty quickly after that, expertly ducking out of the way and taking off running in the direction of the bathroom.
All you can do is laugh and shake your head as the Russian chases after her. “Go easy on her, babe!”
“Yeah, Yelena, listen to your girlfriend!”
“Kate!” You and the Russian yell out at the same time, leading to a fit of giggles belonging to the biggest instigator you've ever met.
"So much for a chill game night," Peter mumbles, placing his cards onto the coffee table. "You're gonna go help Kate out, right?"
You shrug. "I'll think about it."
Star-Crossed
Florence Pugh x reader
Tumblr media
Y/N heard the news on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. The pop of a champagne cork echoed around her small apartment as the radiant face of Florence Pugh, her Florence, filled the television screen.
"Breaking news," the anchor had said, a hint of scandalous excitement in his voice. "Hollywood sweetheart Florence Pugh is officially engaged."
The world seemed to shift under Y/N's feet. She could feel a heavy, hollow sensation spread through her chest. She had always known it would come, but the reality was a raw wound, exposed and burning.
Y/N clutched the remote tight, a futile effort to steady herself. The soft murmurs of the TV echoed hollowly around the room as the broadcaster continued to discuss the news.
A new image filled the screen, a picture of Florence and her fiancé. Florence looked beautiful, as always, her signature blond curls cascading down her shoulders, her azure eyes twinkling. But there was something missing in that sparkle. A piece of Florence that Y/N knew was her own. A piece that she kept safe in her heart, even though they'd gone their separate ways.
When the phone rang, she almost didn't answer. She knew who it would be. The familiar, soft voice that seemed to wrap around her like a warm hug.
"Y/N?" It was Raffie, Florence's younger sister and Y/N's best friend.
Y/N swallowed, forcing out a nonchalant, "Hey, Raffie."
There was a pause. "You've seen it then?"
"Yes." Her voice sounded so small, so frail.
There was a sigh on the other end. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I wanted to tell you before it went public, but Flo..."
Y/N pressed her lips together, stifling the tears that threatened to spill over. "It's okay, Raffie. It was bound to happen."
She knew Raffie was in an impossible position, torn between her love for her sister and her best friend. Raffie, who had been there through every tear and heartbreak, every whispered conversation late into the night, every stolen moment that they could no longer have.
Silence filled the line, a weight that pulled at the words they couldn't say.
"I wish..." Raffie started, then stopped. "Flo isn't... She's not happy, Y/N. She's trying, but I know my sister."
Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes. The idea that Florence was out there, putting on a brave face while her heart wasn't in it, hurt more than anything. She remembered Florence's laughter, the way her eyes would light up when she was truly happy.
She missed that Florence. The Florence before the fame and the flashing lights. The Florence that belonged only to her.
"I know, Raffie," Y/N said quietly. "I know."
The conversation ended with a promise to meet, to talk, to perhaps find some solace in shared heartache.
Alone again, Y/N allowed herself to crumble, to feel the tidal wave of emotions she'd been holding back. The apartment filled with the sound of heartbreak, echoing off the walls and into the lonely night.
But with heartbreak comes a painful truth, a realization that sometimes, the love of your life slips through your fingers, dances in another's arms, kisses under another's sky. And all you're left with are memories, ghostly imprints of a love that once consumed you, a love that continues to echo through your life long after the music has stopped.
And sometimes, the most potent form of love is the one that hurts the most.
Cheesy pickup lines
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yelena Belova x Avenger!Reader
Prompts: “Your flirting is so bad it's adorable." & “Are you bleeding?”
Warnings: Meantions of minor injury and blood.
Masterlist | Marvel masterlist | Words: 600
It seemed like you had a cheesy pickup line for every situation, and were not afraid to use them. Just a few weeks ago the team was headed in the direction of the kitchen when Yelena asked, “What are you all in the mood for, dinner wise?” You were the first to respond, “I'm in the mood for pizza. A pizza you, that is!” After a couple of rolling eyes, and groans, of your fellow Avengers the conversation moved on. Yelena moved your way, “Aw, don’t listen to them, baby. I thought it was a good one.” You quickly pecked her lips before following the rest.
The team was often confused how you managed to convince Yelena to go out with you, after they had witnessed your horrible flirting over and over again for months. Your go to flirting consisted of bad pickup lines, and you used a lot of them. They had hoped that once you and Yelena made your relationship official, the pickup lines would stop. Much to their dismay the cheesy pickup lines continued.
Not a day went by without you using a pickup line, the team wondering when you would finally run out. But your supply seemed endless when you threw pickup line after pickup line to the young widow. Even throwing some holiday themed ones in the mix like, “Will you send me a selfie so that I can show Santa what I want for Christmas this year?” To which Yelena simply replied that she was already yours, with a peck to your lips.
When you got back from your mission with a few cuts on your face, Yelena rushed to your aid. “Are you bleeding?” She asked, even though she could clearly see the blood on your face. Of course, in your line of work it could be anyone's blood. “Oh, it’s nothing. I just got a few scrapes from falling for you.” You say with a sly smile. Yelena shakes her head at your line with a laugh. She knows that even when you’re in pain you would joke around, trying to hide behind the humor but she knew by the slight wince you did as you smiled, that you were hurting. Without another word she leans in and hugs you tights. “Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.” She says stepping back and taking your hand in hers.
She cleans up all of your cuts, and puts bandages on the ones that were in need of them. Once she was done she walked you to bed, where you talked about your mission in some cozy pajamas. It had almost become tradition to spend the day after either one of your missions together like this. Making sure to get some rest, and not letting the darkness get to your head without your partner being able to help you. It was one of the things you loved about your relationship with Yelena, the two of you understood each other so well.
You cuddled into Yelena more when you were done talking about your mission. Smiling when another pickup line idea forms in your brains. “You remind me of a magnet.” You whisper into her shoulder. Yelena, who by now is used to you saying the most random things, is still confused about what you’re getting at. “How come?” She asks with a furrowed brow. “Because you sure are attracting me over here.” Yelena laughs at the newest addition to the ever growing list of pickup lines. “Your flirting is so bad it’s adorable.” She says and hugs you tighter. Unlike your teammates, Yelena would never grow tired of your pickup lines, no matter how bad they were.
“I mean, I don’t even know what I did wrong.” You cried, sniffling as tears continued to roam across your face. Yelena used a small tissue to wipe them away, frowning as she took in your hopeless state. You looked so down - so sad, she wanted to do anything she could to help you.
“I know, I know. You didn’t do anything, he was a complete dick who didn’t deserve you.” You nodded, chuckling at her words. You leaned your head on her shoulder, apologizing for the wetness that stained her sleeve. She shushed you quickly, running her fingers through your hair as you continued to listen to her praising statements, a grin threatening to take over as a result.
“You’re so, so perfect, love, he just didn’t see that. I mean, you’re so beautiful, and not to mention how sweet and caring you are - you always take care of me when I’m all sick and mean.” She hummed at the thought of your soup she had the pleasure of eating when she was unwell.
“Anyone, and I mean anyone, would be more than happy to be with you.” You looked up at her through tired eyes, you and your now ex-boyfriend had been up most of the night arguing, you were bound to be restless the next day.
“You mean it?”
“I mean it. I mean every word.” You didn’t happen to notice the small proximity shared between the two of you until her breath panned against your face, your lips mere inches from touching. You titled your head slightly, leaning in as you closed the distance, resting your hand on her chest as you sunk into the feeling of her mouth on yours. She cupped your cheeks, brushing her tongue over your lips as you granted access. She moaned, bringing a hand down your body and to your waist, leading you closer to her. There was a small separation, and you took your chance to wrap your leg around her hips, placing your arms around her neck as your fingers drew small circles on her back.
The two of you only separated for air, yet you were instantly on each other once again. She explored your mouth with pleasure, basking in the soft skin you allowed her to view. She teased the bottom of your shirt, waiting for your approval before removing it, her eyes soon being blessed with the sight of your perky breasts.
“No bra?” She asked, breath heaving and short.
“I prefer going without.” You countered, shuddering when her mouth found a place on your nipples. You placed your hand on the back of her head, mumbling your appreciation between stutters.
“Fuck, Yelena,” You started. “W..we shouldn’t be doing this.” You suddenly recalled the reasoning as to why you were here. The man that just left you was still at your shared apartment, most likely gathering his items, while you sat in your friend's lap with her kisses exfoliating your body.
“Shh, I don’t want you to think, Y/N.” Her body fell on top of yours, her eyes heavy as she looked down at you.
“Your boyfriend is such a fucking pussy, let’s see what he’s missing out on.” You gasped as a needle came in contact with your skin, your body instantly falling limp as you struggled to keep awake.
“Shh, it’s okay, I’m going to make you feel so good.” Your ex was lucky to make it out alive, and now she wasn’t going to waste this opportunity. Once you awoke, she’d be sure to keep you safe in her hold, even if you tried to deny it. Because at the end of the day, she knew you wanted it just as bad as she did.
Meeting The Sister
Tumblr media
Yelena Belova x Female Reader
Summary: you meet her sister for the first time
Warnings: none, protective Nat and clumsy you
P.S I had this already posted, but they were deleted, so I'm reposting them
_____
The neon lights painted the cityscape in hues of red and blue as you nervously waited for Yelena Belova to arrive. The bar's dimly lit interior buzzed with laughter and music, but your focus was on the door. The idea of meeting Yelena's sister, Natasha Romanoff, and her girlfriend, Wanda Maximoff, was enough to make your palms sweaty.
Yelena finally entered, her confident stride cutting through the crowd. A smirk played on her lips as she approached, her green eyes locking onto yours. "Привет, jittery one. Ready for this adventure?"
You managed a half-smile, "Adventure? More like a nerve-wracking social experiment. What if I crash and burn?"
Yelena chuckled, leaning in for a quick kiss. "Relax, любовь. You're charming as hell. They'll adore you."
Together, you found a corner table and settled in. The minutes dragged on slowly until the door swung open, and Natasha and Wanda strolled in. Yelena's face lit up, and she enthusiastically greeted Natasha, pulling her into a hug. Wanda, a familiar face, greeted you with a casual wave.
"Hey, Wanda. Good to see you again," you said, aiming for a laid-back tone despite the adrenaline pulsing through your veins.
Wanda smirked, taking a seat. "Chill, it's just a laid-back evening."
The conversation flowed, but there was an undeniable stiffness in the air. Natasha's sharp eyes observed you, and she maintained a certain formality. As the night progressed, you couldn't shake the feeling that you were being evaluated.
Natasha finally turned to you, her voice measured. "So, Yelena's been keeping you a secret. What's your deal?"
You leaned back, adopting a nonchalant demeanor. "Ah, just your average agent trying to navigate the chaos. Yelena's been my partner in crime. Figuratively, of course."
Natasha's gaze remained sharp. "Partner in crime, huh? What kind of crimes are we talking about here?"
You chuckled, meeting her gaze. "The thrilling kind. Espionage, saving the world, the usual. You know the drill."
Wanda, sensing the tension, interjected with a casual smile. "Let's not turn this into an interrogation, Nat. We're here to have a good time."
Yelena, feeling a bit defensive, crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Exactly, Natasha. No need to grill us. We're here for a good night, not a debrief."
You reached out, gently placing a hand on Yelena's arm to reassure her. "Yelena's right. No need for a debrief. We're just here to enjoy each other's company."
Yelena, realizing her defensiveness, relaxed slightly, offering a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I'm just protective. You know how it is."
Natasha, observing the exchange, nodded. "Understandable. Partners in crime tend to stick together."
You grinned, adding a touch of humor. "Exactly! Besides, who else is going to appreciate my impeccable taste in secret missions?"
Wanda, with a smirk, chimed in, "I'm sure it's a very unique taste."
The conversation shifted to more lighthearted topics, with everyone sharing anecdotes and jokes. Yelena, now more at ease, joined in the banter, contributing her own sarcastic remarks and playfully nudging Natasha.
Wanda, with her Sokovian charm, added her own touch to the banter, creating a dynamic where each person's personality shone through. You found yourself trading jokes with Wanda, engaging in playful banter with Yelena, and occasionally meeting Natasha's gaze with a shared understanding.
Wanda grinned, raising her glass. "So, how did you two meet? Any thrilling story to share?"
You exchanged a glance with Yelena, and a playful smirk crossed your lips. "Well, it all started in a high-stakes mission. Yelena was in a tight spot, and I swooped in, saved the day, you know, the usual hero stuff."
Yelena rolled her eyes, but a fond smile played on her lips. "More like you tripped over your own feet and stumbled into my mission."
Natasha, now intrigued, leaned in. "A clumsy hero, huh? That's unexpected."
You shrugged, grinning. "Hey, every hero has a less-than-glamorous origin story, right?"
Yelena, seizing the opportunity to tease you, launched into a ramble. "Oh, let me tell you about their impeccable coordination skills. I've never seen someone tumble and twist in so many creative ways. It's a wonder they get anything done without tripping over their own shadow."
Yelena continued, "And remember the time they mistook a janitor for an enemy agent and tackled them in the middle of a mission?"
You shot her a playful glare. "Okay, that one was an honest mistake. In my defense, they were wearing all black and carrying a mop like a weapon!"
Wanda burst into laughter, and Natasha couldn't help but crack a smile. "Quite the impressive track record you've got there."
You sighed dramatically. "My secret identity as a spy is hanging by a thread with Yelena here revealing all my not-so-heroic exploits."
Yelena, leaning in, planted a quick kiss on your cheek. "Oh, don't worry, beloved. Your not-so-heroic moments make you even more endearing."
You couldn't help but look at Yelena with a mix of embarrassment and fondness. Natasha, ever observant, raised an eyebrow with a knowing smile. "Seems like there's a lot more charm to this clumsy hero than meets the eye."
Yelena winked at Natasha, "Well, charm and a top-level clearance that I conveniently forgot to mention. Just a minor detail."
The table fell silent for a moment, and you could practically feel the raised eyebrows. Natasha's gaze became more intense, and Wanda looked intrigued.
Yelena, catching on to your embarrassment, chuckled. "Oh, did I forget to mention that my charming klutz here has access to the highest level of clearance? Just a minor detail."
You shot Yelena a playful glare, and she grinned mischievously, knowing she had just added a new layer to the intrigue. Natasha arched an eyebrow, intrigued by the revelation.
Natasha finally spoke, "Top-level clearance, huh? Interesting."
You nodded, trying to downplay it. "Well, two levels above you, Natasha. Not that it's a big deal."
Wanda, with a sly grin, added, "Looks like we've got a high roller in the house."
Yelena, ever the protective sister, shot a warning look at Natasha and Wanda. "Easy, both of you. It's not a competition."
You chimed in, "Yeah, just a quirky detail in the grand scheme of things. Family comes in all clearance levels, right?"
Wanda laughed, and Natasha smirked, "Family comes in all clearance levels, indeed."
The atmosphere lightened up as the conversation moved on to more casual topics. The initial tension began to dissipate, and you found yourself sharing laughs and stories with the group. Yelena, always quick with a sarcastic remark, added her own flavor to the banter.
As the night progressed, the initial awkwardness transformed into a genuine connection. Natasha, initially reserved, couldn't help but crack a smile at some of the anecdotes shared. Wanda, with her infectious laughter, created a comfortable ambiance.
You raised your glass, "To unexpected friendships and top-level clearances!"
The clinking of glasses echoed through the bar as the night unfolded with laughter, camaraderie, and a newfound understanding among the eclectic group.
The bass thumped through the nightclub, reverberating in your chest as the colorful lights danced across the crowded dance floor. Natasha, your girlfriend, had left you alone, disappearing into the sea of bodies to join the other Avengers. Irritation simmered within you; she knew how much you hated being left alone in places like this.
You scanned the room, your eyes catching on Natasha, who was now dancing with Wanda Maximoff. A pang of jealousy tightened in your chest. Shouldn’t it be you dancing with her?
Just as frustration threatened to consume you, Yelena Belova, Natasha's sister, appeared beside you. Yelena was different from Natasha—her energy was magnetic, drawing you in like a moth to a flame. She asked you for a dance, her eyes holding a hint of something you couldn't quite place.
The two of you hit the dance floor, bodies moving in sync with the pulsating beat. The atmosphere was electric, but your mind was elsewhere, caught between annoyance and curiosity about Yelena's intentions.
As the song changed, "Boyfriend" by Dove Cameron began playing. Yelena's eyes locked onto yours, and a mischievous smile tugged at her lips. She began singing the lyrics, her voice surprisingly melodic. She held onto your hips still moving in sync with each other as her voice found your ears.
The lyrics seemed oddly fitting for the moment. Yelena's gaze was intense, and you couldn't look away. The words resonated, and you felt a connection forming between you.
Caught in the spell of the music and Yelena's gaze, you found yourself giving in. The frustration with Natasha faded as Yelena's sincerity shone through. This wasn't just a dance; it was a confession.
The crowd faded away, leaving only you and Yelena. As the final notes of the song echoed, Yelena leaned in, her lips brushing against yours. Time seemed to stand still as the world around you disappeared.
For the first time in a long while, you felt a genuine spark behind a kiss. Love, or something close to it, ignited within you. As you pulled apart, Yelena's eyes bore into yours, silently asking a question you were ready to answer.
"Let's get out of here," she said, her voice low and inviting. You nodded, your hand entwining with hers as you made our way through the crowd, leaving behind the pulsating rhythm of the nightclub.
In that moment, the night took a turn, and as you stepped into the cool air outside, you couldn't help but feel a sense of liberation. Yelena had shown you a different side of love—one that didn't leave me alone in a crowded room.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As she helped you out of the car, Yelena's lips met yours once again, reigniting the spark that seemed to define the night. The world around the two of you blurred, and for a moment, it was just Yelena and you—lost in the intensity of the connection we were forging.
The kiss lingered, leaving you both breathless when you finally pulled away. You hesitated, your conscience nudging at you. "S-should we be doing this?" you stammered, guilt clawing at the edges of your desires. "I'm still with your sister..."
Yelena's gaze bore into your, determination shining in her eyes. "Y/N, she left you alone. She was dancing on Wanda. You deserve to be happy. Please let me show you how happy someone can make you."
Her words resonated with a truth you couldn't deny. Natasha's actions had left you feeling neglected, it hadn’t been the first time, and Yelena's presence offered a promise of something different—something more fulfilling.
Your guilt battled with your desires, but Yelena's hands on your hips and the husky tone of her voice eroded your reservations. She peppered your face and neck with kisses, leaving small bite marks that sent shivers down your spine. A groan escaped you, and the last strands of hesitation vanished.
"Y-you're right... I deserve to be happy. Please, Yelena... show me how to be happy again." You whispered, your voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and longing.
Without another word, Yelena lifted you off the ground, her strong arms supporting you under your thighs. The world spun briefly as she effortlessly carried you up to her room in the compound. The journey felt surreal, like a dream you were willingly surrendering to.
Behind the closed door, the spark between us flared into an uncontrollable flame. You and Yelena, entangled in each other's arms, embarked on a journey of rediscovering happiness—away from the shadows of neglect and towards the warmth of genuine connection.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow in Yelena's room. After a night of passion and connection, you finally emerged from the tangle of sheets. You reached for your panties from the night before and slipped into one of Yelena's oversized hoodies, its hem falling to your mid-thighs.
"You look so cute in my hoodie, Detka," Yelena murmured, wrapping her arms around your waist. Her lips found yours again, leaving a trail of kisses across your face. The affectionate nickname, the warmth of her embrace—it all felt like a dream.
"Let's go make breakfast, sweetie. I make the best pancakes," Yelena chuckled, giving you one last kiss before we headed downstairs.
In the kitchen, you took charge of making breakfast while Yelena watched, her arms encircling your waist from behind. You flipped pancakes onto the griddle—regular, blueberry, and chocolate chip.
Her chin rested on your shoulder, and her lips occasionally found your neck or shoulder. The domestic scene was comforting, and you felt a sense of happiness and contentment settle over you.
However, the tranquility shattered when Natasha's voice echoed through the kitchen. "What the hell is this?"
You froze, your heart pounding as you turned to face Natasha, who stood in the doorway with a mixture of surprise and anger etched across her face. The air in the room grew tense, and you could feel the weight of the impending confrontation.
The atmosphere in the kitchen hung heavy with tension as Natasha confronted you. You stood your ground, and for the first time, you didn't cower or retreat. Yelena's arm around your waist offered a silent assurance, a source of strength that emboldened you.
"Oh, you left me alone last night, remember? Yelena came and kept me company. Showed me actual love for once," You retorted, the bitterness in your voice surprising even Yelena, who had felt your hesitation the night before.
Natasha attempted to defend herself. "I went and hung out with the other Avengers. No one was stopping you from coming over."
Your frustration boiled over. "Did you even notice I left? Did you even try to find me? Oh, the answer is no because I have no missed calls or texts from you. Did you even wonder where I was last night?"
Natasha was taken aback by the accusations. You could see the realization sinking in, but before she could respond, you took control of the situation.
"Natasha, I want to end things. I deserve to be happy, and you aren't making me happy. You're prioritizing everything besides me. I deserve better," You declared, feeling Yelena's grip on your hip tighten momentarily, a silent affirmation of your shared decision.
"Lena, you're supposed to be my sister. How could you do this?" Natasha questioned, her voice filled with hurt and disbelief.
Yelena's response was unwavering. "How could you leave your girlfriend alone for someone else to take home, Sestra?"
The word "Sestra" hung in the air—a reminder of the bond they shared. The confrontation laid bare the cracks in that connection, as Yelena stood by your side, defending your newfound happiness against the neglect that had pushed you away. The room buzzed with unresolved emotions, and the choice between old loyalties and a newfound love lingered in the air.
Natasha's parting words echoed in the strained silence of the kitchen, leaving behind a heavy sense of finality. "You'll come back. You'll realize your mistake," she called out before walking away. The weight of her words lingered, but you knew you couldn't go back to the neglect and loneliness.
As Natasha disappeared from view, you crumbled. Yelena, strong and comforting, held you as tears streamed down your face. The reality of ending a relationship, even one that had become toxic, hit you with a wave of grief.
"Did I make the right choice?" You asked between choked sobs, your voice breaking with uncertainty.
"I think you did," Yelena whispered, her arms providing solace and reassurance. You stood there, breakfast forgotten, as the aftermath of the emotional storm settled around you two. In Yelena's embrace, you found comfort in the belief that choosing happiness, even at the cost of a familiar bond, was the right path forward.
5 years later
The air buzzed with anticipation as you paced nervously, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of wedding preparations. It was the day you had been planning for years since the proposal, and Tony Stark's generous offer to cover the costs had turned it into an Avengers-worthy event.
"Come on, Y/N, we need to get everyone in place," Kate called out, your maid of honor, joined by Kamala, Carol, and Monica as your bridesmaids. Clint stood as the best man, Kamala with Peter, Carol with Bruce, and Monica with Steve. The camaraderie and support from my fellow Avengers filled the room.
After a mission with S.H.I.E.L.D. four years ago, you gained the ability to manipulate, produce, and control auroras. You joined Captain Marvel's crew to hone your powers, finding a new purpose. Now, on your wedding day, you couldn't have been more grateful for the love and acceptance surrounding you.
Alexi, Yelena's father, joined you as the two of you waited for the ceremony to begin. "Are you sure you're ready to keep my daughter forever? She's feisty," he commented, a teasing smile on his face.
"Yes, I do. It's one of the many reasons I'm marrying her. Oh, and thank you, Alexi, for giving me away, even though you're her father," You replied with a genuine smile.
"I'm your father too. I have been for the past five years since she introduced you to Melina and me," Alexi said, his words carrying a sense of familial warmth. You felt a surge of gratitude for the family you had found.
As you two made your way down the aisle, Yelena stood there in a tux, tears in her eyes at the sight of you. Alexi handed you off to her, kissing your cheek and then his own daughter's. Taking a shaky breath, the moment you had been dreaming of finally arrived.
"Y/F/N, do you take Yelena Belova to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Thor asked. You two had decided to let the god of Thunder officiat the wedding after he offered.
"I do," you whispered through a choked sob.
"I pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss the brides."
With those words, you jumped into Yelena's arms, kissing her with all the love in your heart. Your kisses still held that spark, threatening to turn into an uncontrollable fire. In that moment, surrounded by friends and family, you knew that you had found your happily ever after.
The reception hall was filled with the joyous chatter of friends and family as Yelena and yourself made your way to the dance floor for your first dance. You had chosen a special song, one that had resonated with you in the weeks following your breakup with Natasha. When Yelena heard it, she declared, "This is our song."
As the opening notes of 'If You Love Her' by Forest Blakk filled the air, Yelena took charge. "I'm letting all you bitches know right now. I'm singing, and I want no compliments or complaints about my voice," she declared to your amused friends and family.
The atmosphere shifted, and all eyes were on us as Yelena began to sing. Her voice, raw and genuine, intertwined with the heartfelt lyrics of the song. The vulnerability in her voice resonated with the emotions of the moment, creating a unique and intimate experience.
The two of you swayed to the rhythm, lost in the music and the shared history that had brought us to this point. The lyrics of the song mirrored the journey of our love, and every word felt like it was written just for us.
Yelena's voice filled the space, and you couldn't help but be captivated by the depth of emotion she poured into every word. As you danced, surrounded by the people who had become your family, the song became a poignant soundtrack to your love story—a story of resilience, growth, and the unwavering commitment to each other.
In that moment, as Yelena sang your song, the reception transformed into a celebration of not only your union but also the journey that led the two of you to this day. The dance floor became a stage for the symphony of your love, and the lyrics echoed the promises you two had made to each other.
As the final notes of the song faded away, Yelena leaned in, resting her forehead against mine. "YA lyublyu tebya, moya prekrasnaya zhena,(I love you my beautiful wife)" she whispered in Russian, the words filled with a depth of emotion that only heightened the intimacy of the moment. You smiled, understanding every word, and whispered back in Portuguese, "Te amo minha linda esposa.(I love you my beautiful wife.)"
Your exchange of affectionate words in your respective languages felt like a secret code, a language only the two of you shared. In that brief moment, surrounded by the watchful eyes of your friends and family, we were in our own world.
However, amidst the shared joy and love, you could feel a set of eyes piercing through the crowd—Natasha's daggers-for-eyes fixed on you two. Her gaze was intense, a mix of emotions playing out on her face, but you couldn't let it overshadow the happiness of your special day.
Yelena's grip tightened slightly as if to reassure you, and you continued to dance, reveling in the love the two of you had found in each other. The weight of Natasha's gaze lingered, but the strength of your bond and the support of those who truly celebrated your union became the focal point of your attention.
The night continued with laughter, dancing, and the celebration of love. After all the pictures and traditional formalities were done, the two of you changed into slightly comfier clothes. As the food was served, a pancake bar and a mac & cheese bar, your two favorite foods, became the highlight. Toppings and fillings adorned the tables, creating a feast for everyone.
You opted for an open bar, and you found yourself grabbing a grateful dead. Natasha's voice interrupted your moment, "I can't believe you actually did it." She stood beside you, her eyes reflecting a mix of emotions.
"Why wouldn't I carry on with the love of my life, Tasha?" You responded, tilting your head as you took a sip from your drink. "Remember I told you I deserved happiness? I meant that. I wasn't going to come crawling back like I had in the past, not when Lena was right there showing me all the good things I could have."
Natasha sighed, acknowledging her mistakes. "I fucked up. I really fucked up."
"Yes, you did, and it's too late to fix any of it. I'm your sister-in-law now. You should find someone who actually makes you happy, Tasha. Like Maria," You nudged her, noticing Maria looking over in Natasha's direction.
"She's liked you for a while, Tasha. Maybe you should actually try," You advised before sauntering off back to Yelena. "What was that about, moya lyubov'?" Yelena asked, wrapping an arm around your waist.
"Just your sister finally realizing she was in the wrong," You chuckled.
"Only took her five years," Yelena remarked, and the two of you watched as Natasha downed a double shot of vodka before walking over to Maria, asking for a dance. You smiled, your tongue sticking out slightly. Maybe there's hope for all of us.
