I love searching for mental illness tags I can pin on myself so I can fix what's wrong with me like a little checklist.
Anyway if anyone tries to suggest I might have a specific mental illness unless I ask for you to tell me, I will most likely block you or ignore that. This is one of the few boundaries I am forming, and it is a hard one.

saying teenskk is so much better and more interesting than 22skk is completely dismissing the significance of dazai’s ada character development (AND chuuya’s clear development separate from dazai) on their relationship like they took 4 years to come back together for a reason their dynamic was introduced in present time for a REASON. does the juiciness of 22skk coming back together as new people who still know eo better than anyone under the context of their teenage pm past and yet still they are so much more than that together not entice ppl. how is that possible. their present dynamic INCLUDES the intricacies of their teen dynamic plus more like. there’s just so many layers and some skk fans wanna throw that all away whyyyyy

"Seeing from his violent demeanor that he was English" is still probably one of the best (funniest) lines in Dracula, but I love how this part of the Post Script contrasts with the rest of the letter Sister Agatha sends.
The main body of the letter is to the point and polite on all matters (makes sense as it seems this part of the writing was overseen by our good friend Jonathan himself, though he's too weak to write) in contrast to the Post Script where Agatha adds in details that are emotionaly powerful and some aren't necessarily sordid but would absolutely be of concern.
Jonathan has nothing on him, he is shouting and in a rush, he has a frightening delirium, delirium can last and reemerge a long time into the future, he rambles about terrifying and grotesque subjects when in the throes of his brain fever (which is an old-timey way to describe a lot of mental illnesses and behaviors), and all of this overcomes a frailty and physical weakness from whatever else he's been through that causes him to otherwise be bedridden.
Even half of that could erode trust in someone. But as told in the rest of the Post Script:
He's recovering, he's gaining more lucidity, the Sisters notice his lucid moments are punctuated by gentleness and sweetness (hard to trust at first likely, due to frequent relapses, and the Sisters are eventually convinced a lot of his prior behavior was caused by the fading brain fever and not by his inherent personality), he is a cherished patient of the Hospital of St. Joseph And St. Mary, and it seems the staff are enamored with how often and with such love he talks about Mina, such that this spurred Sister Agatha to make the Post Script in the first place because it's the first thing she mentions.

The art is lovely and now I'm gonna ramble because that's what I do when I care about something.
For the love of women, please PLEASE can fan artists remember to add muscle to their Shadowhunter ladies? I'll commend Bowater for cleverly giving James that sculpted and lean look without making him a beefcake (nothing against beefcakes, I'd love to hug them), but Cordelia is once again suffering from Arms And Shoulders Too Slender It's Hard To Even Imagine Her Picking Up A Sword. There is some there, yes, but artists shouldn't be afraid of giving particularly Female Main Characters weight and toned muscle. Cordelia is supposed to be nearly the same height as James as far as I can remember, and she's curvy, and full, and she wields a sword like it's second nature to her. Please explain why she looks so tiny in James' lap.
Also I'm pretty sure marriage runes are supposed to go over the heart whenever possible (thinking about Will's parabatai rune being over his heart instead -- he didn't get Tessa to draw over the scar, did he??) and... either I'm looking at the picture wrong or James' rune is not over where his heart should be.
For the matter, where are their other runes and scars?? James' Voyance rune isn't even on his hand. And I'm pretty sure he's right handed. I could have that wrong though.
Another thing: no one can ever decide what Cordelia's hair looks like and it's the funniest thing to me. This is what happens when all you do is vaguely say the colour is like fire but also like rose petals but also a flowing river of those things but also is Red (probably for redhead, but then from there I never understand where the rose petal analogy comes from considering the typical rose is a deep bloody colour -- I do acknowledge the existence of those light orange varieties though which might more closely resemble red hair). In the end, I'm glad readers can infer what they want and imagine the characters how they like.
Anyone else think James looks like he's built like a tennis player? Oddly specific, maybe, but it was a thought I had. Mostly the arms and somewhat narrow body.
James' hair is nice, his eyes are an interesting take on gold in the shadows. Bowater managed to also make him look closely related to his father, so bravo for that.
In the end, the focus is obviously on the marriage runes and not other physical aspects outside of it being clear that this is James and Cordelia. Bowater's style is very beautiful and elegant. Love the way fabric and lighting is done too. I'll add also that it is possible to be a smaller person who is slender but still strong so I mean Cordelia's not necessarily done wrong, I just interpret her appearance differently. Obviously, they're both hot and they're both attractive and I have my qualms with the series, chronicles, and author -- the fandom I am so-so on, though I'm still here, aren't I? And I'm taking the time to ramble about my thoughts on a piece of fanart -- but this is good. Gorgeous, even. Both James and Cordelia are beautiful.

I've come to learn that me reading YA novels is just the writer in me rewriting and fleshing out scenes and adding all the juicy details that a published YA novel wouldn't have until im satisfied with it. It's like embroidery for the mind

So one thing I've always loved about uni/studying/learning new things is when you have different subjects or different tiny dots of knowledge and slowly, as you learn more and more, those tiny splashes of knowledge are becoming less isolated, and you realize that it's all connected and - at least with my subjects being in the humanities - you sort of “unlock” this new perspective on a certain aspect of the human condition. And like, that's fun enough and - if I'm being honest - probably my favorite thing about studying already as it is, BUT NOW, now that I've finally gotten back into writing as a hobby this is just ANOTHER dimension for me to expand that knowledge into and to use that knowledge for. And I am absolutely living for it. So happy to be back on my bullshit and so happy to be at a place in my life where these two passions of mine fit so seamlessly together and one passion benefits from the other and vice versa

Tagged by @outtoshatter for Snippet Sunday!
I'm still on my Robin!Jay and Discowing!Dick kick, #SorryNotSorry
“I could eat, like, twenty,” Jason declared as he landed on the next roof, rolling neatly back to his feet much more gracefully than he had even a few months ago.
“Bull! Where would you even put it?” Dick laughed and poked Jason in one bony shoulder, predictably getting swatted and having to dodge an only slightly pulled punch in retaliation.
“I could!”
“You couldn’t even eat half that without puking.”
“Wanna bet?” Jason asked with a grin, folding his arms over his chest and lifting his chin defiantly.
“I’m not buying you food and betting on it. Do I look like I have that kind of money?” Dick realized his mistake immediately as Jason’s grin went wider and sharper.
“You don’t wanna know what I think you look like, Nerdwing.”
“Brat.”
Jason dodged the first swipe with a laugh, but since it had been a fakeout anyway he still ended up getting headlocked a second later. With his free hand Dick scrubbed at Jason’s hair, turning “wind blown and tousled” to “actual rat’s nest”.
“Dick!” Jason twisted and managed to jab one pointy elbow into Dick’s ribs fairly hard, earning a surprised “oof”.
“Robin,” Dick chastised lightly. “Come on, weren’t you hungry?” He let go and danced back out of reach in one motion, headed towards the next rooftop.
“Yeah, for revenge,” Jason muttered behind him, quiet enough that Dick probably wasn’t supposed to hear it.
Spoilers: This bet is very much happening and it very much does not end well for anyone.
No-pressure tags for @dangerousdan-dan, @sepia-stained-sunset, @roseandgold137, @kayrielwrites and @bess3714 (or anyone else!) if you'd like to play!
