i feel like jet kinda tags along and we're just gonna have him as a sibling-like bond with maddie considering ellie's mother dies right after her birth. where she goes, he goes. he's really protective over her considering he's younger, but he tells dewey and terri when first meeting them both "where she goes. i go."

tess i have mixed thoughts about. im aware from watching people react to season one that a romance wasn't like fully set up between her and joel in game but it's definitely like. made possible yk and then like kinda looked into further in the show? idk. so what im gonna do is completely fucking IGNORE that romance plot. yeah. no i don’t have an issue w you reminding/correcting me that’s totally cool and i appreciate that but the way i interpreted your ask is that you had kind of an attitude which pissed me off bc i put an authors note in the fic saying it might be a bit au bc i couldn’t remember who was the cook in bill and frank’s relationship (not that it mattered in the fic’s context either)

i dont have any beef w u and we’re cool but the tone of the ask put me off a little bit when i was reading it

“Ok, that should be it done installing. You’ll need to get another copy next year, but you should be protected so long as you don’t click on any obviously dodgy sites.”

Bell was relieved at the sight of her laptop screen, the browser working normally after the best part of a week being debilitated with viruses, as Perri scrolled through images of puppies to demonstrate.

“Oh, thank you, Perri, I would’ve been lost without your help!”, Bell lowered her head in gratitude, Perri returning a humble blush.

“Don’t worry about it, this is my job, after all!”, Perri reached over for her cup of coffee, licking the last drops of cappuccino off the inside. “And I had a key left over from my last antivirus copy, I figured I had to pay you back!”

Bell’s cheeks rosed at the memory, especially as she heard snickers come from Yana, sitting beside her on the table in the empty reading room, looking up from her phone. “Yeah, Bell, what are kids for other than teaching their mothers how to use Cheeper? And aren’t you scared about the government colluding with software companies to record your personal information, anyway?”

“Don’t be ridiculous, Yana, why do you think I have a filing cabinet?”, she snapped at Yana, “The laptop is just for necessary, nonpersonal research for my work.” She scratched the back of her head, “And Webflix.”

Yana smirked, sliding herself across the table to bump her head against Bells’ arm. “Hmm, you seem to love that one about the wrestling women. I might have to come to bed one night in glitter and a spandex suit...

Bell was ready to hit her, before Perri gratefully intervened, “Well, if it’s privacy you are concerned about, I could show you how to use a VPN service.” Bell turned to face her again, and it was clear she was as eager to change the subject as she was.

“That would be lovely, I guess, but--oh, look at the time.”, Bell showed Perri her watch, 7 PM, “I suppose you would need to be getting home, soon.”

Perri wiped the tired out of her eyes, and looked at the watch, before her face lit up in excitement, “Yes! Thursday is Movie Night for us. Do you have anything planned?”

Bell and Yana turned to eachother, “Umm, we’ll be staying here for most of the night. Our electricity’s out, something about replacing the transformer. We don’t even have candles at home.”

The smaller woman gasped, “Hey, you can spend the night with us! It’ll be fun, I promise!”

Bell stammered, “Are you sure your roommates won’t mind?”

“Pearl? Don’t worry, she’ll be glad to have other people to talk to!”, Perri smiled.

Yana leaned in, “What’s the movie you’re watching?”

“The Jewels from Satellite 9”, Pearl announced with a dramatic flourish, reading from the TV guide, “The 1958 Italian film about a race between mafiosos and alien scientists to retrieve an observation satellite the aliens had placed around Earth, that had crashed near the city of Potenza and has a reactor that produces pure diamonds!”

“Wow!”, Perri squealed from beside Bell on the couch, her mouth still partially full with a piece of munched-on cookie. “Sounds horrible! Is it subtitled?”

“No.”, Pearl answered, with a smile that was ear-to-ear. “It’s dubbed. And guess by who?”

Perri gasped, “You don’t mean--?”

“Oh, yes I do.”

Neither Bell or Yana were really sure about what they had gotten into as Perri stood up to get beside Pearl, the two women proceeding to shake about and sing “Sandy Frank! Sandy Frank! He’s the source of all our paaain!”

And this Pearl was supposed to be a ballet dancer, Bell thought.

Yana, seated to the left of the couch, set her coffee down on the table in front of them. Bell had to commend them for keeping so tidy a house. She tried her best at their own place, but if only one of them, between Perri and Pearl, was responsible for the cleanliness, then they had the benefit of living with someone who had the decency to keep to their mess and not expand it further.

“So...”, Yana interrupted, “You watch bad movies on purpose?”

The two froze mid-dance, suddenly looking embarrassed. Pearl explained “Well, it started out for different reasons. Perri has liked B-Movies for years...”

“...and Pearl uses it to remember the ‘Dos and Donts’ of acting!”, Perri finished. “Mostly the ‘Donts’!”

A look of worry crept onto Pearl’s face. “Oh! I’m sorry if you had expected, well, a good film. We have DVDs if you--”

“Nono, it’s alright, we’ll give this a try.” Bell assured them, turning to Yana, “Won’t we?”

Yana just held up her hands and gave one of her irritating smiles. “Hey, you’re the boss.”

“Here’s the food!”, Pearl set down the bag full of chinese takeaway onto the coffee table, before sitting down in the armchair to the couch’s left. The noodles and curry wasn’t quite enough to overpower the flower-scented shampoo of Pearl, now changed into bathrobe and slippers after her shower. They had offered use of it because of their boiler being down, but Bell turned it down in lieu of changes of clothes, and the fact their electricity would’ve been back in the morning.

And besides, she was keen to head off Yana suggesting they save on their water bill by washing together.

Instead, Perri was now in the shower, and with the film nearly starting Yana was rummaging through the bag. “Uhh, who has the small curry and rice?”

“I do.”, answered Pearl, accepting the food, “Y’know, I would sometimes think I could get through a day on multivitamins and tea, but I’ve often been leaving myself starving.”

“I guess it’s this Jasie that leaves you worked out?”, said Yana, with amounts of cheek that Bell judged to warrant a Warning Glare..

Pearl chuckled, “Well, she has made going to the gym a lot more interesting...” She popped out of a daze when she saw Yana take a seat in the opposite chair. “Wouldn’t you two like to sit with eachother?”

“Well...”, Yana beat Bell in speaking first, “...not in someone else’s home. The probable results are too naughty to consider.

In an act of divine mercy, as Bell saw it, Perri ran down the stairs and into the room, now in what seemed to be her pajamas, boxers and an oversized t-shirt of a blurry photograph of an aeroplane and a caption reading ‘I WANT TO BELIEVE IN HUMANS’. She still seemed fairly wet and her glasses were fogged, “Have I missed the start?!”

Pearl smiled, “No, it’s just about to begin.”

“Yes!”, she ran around the table and nearly jumped into the couch. Both she and Pearl cheered, “WE’VE GOT MOVIE SIGN!”

Debt AU stuff

debt au where Ellie reads the comic she stole from Bill in private and then makes her ‘endure and survive’ comment and hes just like ‘wait a fuckin second— did you steal my shit’

Joel doesn’t die but he is seriously wounded, to the point Bill needs to travel with him and Ellie to make up for the slack.

Various causes for Joel and Ellie to stick around(the truck needs additional repairs, one of them gets too hurt to travel, Bill is injured and needs extra help around town for a couple days, whatever) and Joel talks him into coming along.

Same as above except Bill makes the choice to like, ask if he can come along but in the most “I don’t actually like you guys dont get the wrong idea” way possible.

Joel is dead and Bill, sensing the trap, backs up and drives around Pittsburgh.

Joel is alive and they get an argument about ‘that’s obviously a trap Joel turn the fuck around’.

Bill wins and they go around Pittsburgh.

Joel wins and they head into town.

The trap is sprung and Joel spits “don’t say anything, Bill” before Bill can open his mouth

Joel is dead. The ladder on the truck breaks after Ellie, Sam, and Henry have climbed up. Ellie hesitates before jumping down with Bill. Bill is shot holding the gate open for her.

Debt AU where Bill and Ellie stay in Lincoln for several days so Bill can get supplies together and board up and further booby trap the town. Bill taking Ellie to his other safehouses and [tensely] sharing goodies with her; the electronics he’s been hoarding, tasty treats.

Debt AU where Joel dies before they reach the schol and isn’t there to pull Bill out of the panic attack he almost falls into when the battery is missing. Ellie has to take charge instead
