There are circumstances in which I could accept the concept of “love the work, hate the creator”, but there are other times when the creator’s bigoted views have bled so thoroughly into the fabric of the work that they’re the same hateful entity and I’ll ask if your crusade to defend the work is really the hill you want to die on

This is a good time to reiterate that my interest lies with the fictional characters these CC have created and my fics are 100% about those, with me approaching them as an amalgamation of worldbuilding and headcanon making them closer to OC.

Having said that, it's understandable if this sours you on some fictional content too. Please put your own comfort first. Support victims. Be kind to each other.

y'know, what I think it comes down to is: creators aren't responsible for your mental health. your pain is real, your feelings are real, but artists are not your therapists or support circle. they shouldn't have to think about the potential ramifications on their audience's mental health whenever they make a creative decision. it's not on them.
