if he’s out for a run, ushijima will buy a cup of lemonade that the local kids are selling, because they’re so excited to see a potential customer.

Apparently, when Christian is very content with his team's position in the championship, he goes around squeezing people's butts. During the RB winning streak 10 years ago, he did it with David Coulthard and a Sky reporter he was mates with. Christian touching Toto's behind actually happened last weekend in Spa during a Sky Germany interview. Afterwards, Christian tried to flee but didn't find a way quickly enough through the crowd, Toto laughingly shouted "That's harrassment!" after him and Toto congratulated Christian for the win with half hugs and all. Christian had the same energy when he did that a decade ago, the same energy Toto had when he hit David Coulthard in the plums with a mic. Full on childish glee and cheek. I believe they're playing their disputes up and actually get along, at least beyond the current bone of contention. What do you think? Would Christian do that if they weren't kind of mates, is he enough of a tactless idiot for it? Or does he simply know Toto well enough to know that he can take a joke? Seriously, they've been ribbing each other for a decade. And they and Fred shared that long ass flight to Australia in Toto's plane.

i agree with all of the above, they are friendly enough for banter and having a laff and we all know they have teamed up against other teams in the past so obviously they can get along when they want (need) to. i think they are mostly on good terms when merc and rb are co-existing somewhat peacefully. i think they have a solid foundation (whatever they are, can’t imagine they have ever defined or labelled it lmao) and they like each other enough to be able to forgive and forget past jabs and bribing and petty comments. plus, they have a decade long rapport, they’ve been around the paddock the longest (with franz tost). they for sure bonded over that.

personally i think they like each other best when they’ve got banter going on. no tension, no schemes, they’re just doing their jobs and sometimes cross paths and have a laugh. i’ve said it before but i think toto is a huge christian fan actually. he wants to be liked by him. christian is first and foremost a team principal. i don’t think he cares as much as toto about building relationships outside of his own team, he’s never been super fussed about that. i think that’s why it’s even more endearing that toto has managed to bring out this side of him.

What I don't get about the homeless interview being released today is that you release stuff on weekends you want buried. It's terrible timing. Should have been released on a Monday through Thursday so more people would read it. What is KP thinking?

Interview was released for the Sunday morning papers. It's the biggest day of the week to release big news, and it's pretty much how the BRF makes major announcements when making them through the press. The Sunday edition is the best selling edition of the week.
