Evoked by a blue sky with clouds, a cherry blossom, a cuddly Labrador puppy toy, the chuckle of a stream... Somewhere along the line experiences dulled and things like colour lost their meaning. They would visit me again in dreams and in nature from time to time like spiritual experiences, like slipping across dimensions. I dreamed of Elysium, over the hills, I dreamed of my grandma’s house where secrets were hidden and pressed me to seek them. And out of a mirage, flamingos settled on the salt lake in Cyprus and fantasies became tangible, a promise that even the unreal is real. I can feel parts of myself being restored. I no longer mourn the innocent wonder of childhood. It has come back to me. It never left. Do one thing today that takes you back to a sweetness. One you thought lost. There may be pain there in the gilded box of memory. But take a sip from the bottle and allow yourself to slip back into a skin you once wore. You may find that when you surrender the pain of loss, that you can inhabit that bliss far more deeply than you ever did as a child.
