"how's my favourite girl doing?" sirius talks as he puts an arm over your shoulders, just as james takes the book out of your hands.
"sirius black and james potter talking to me when we're not at a pureblood party? what's happening?"
"don't be mean, you know we love you" james replies, putting the book behind his back, so you wouldn't be able to get it even if sirius let you go.
"we realised we rarely talk to you, which is sad because you're one of the only pureblood people we actually like" sirius then lets you go to play with your hair as he talks.
"so, we wanted to invite you to the party we're throwing tonight, at the gryffindor common room" james says, but he quickly looks behind you and his friend.
"you invite me to a party, so we can talk?" you ask, taking advantage of james' sudden distraction when regulus walks past to take your book back.
"yes, we want to get to know you" sirius is the one who talks now, unaware of the reason his friend suddenly stopped talking
"okay, i'll see you there" you tell them, walking away.
"what? really? was it that easy?" sirius asks, shocked.
"yes, i'll see you there, bye"
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"they don't know that you always go to the parties?" lily asks as she puts on her earrings, looking on your mirror.
"i tend to hide from them" you tell them from your bed.
"why?" she questions, you shrug, unable to give her an answer.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"so, what's your type?" sirius finds you while you were choosing something to drink.
"what?" you ask him, accepting the drink he recommends you.
"what kind of person do you like, men, women, tall, short?"
"tall skinny men with messy mullets, when it looks like they'll break if you breathe too hard on them?" sirius' eyes seem to light up with your answer.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"she's just like you, she likes books and stuff, i swear you'll like her" sirius insists, following remus through the hall, heading to the library.
"books and stuff? that's all you know about me?"
"i'm telling you i found your soulmate and you care about that?"
"yes."
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you were in the library, focused on your book when three people sat on your table. you look up to find sirius, james and who you know is called remus, maybe your eyes focus on the last one for a bit when sirius talks.
"we need help" he says, pulling out a book.
"what?" you ask, uninterested in anything they have to say.
"we need help, you're like the smartest person we know" this time james is the one who talks.
"and why would i help you?"
"because you're a good person?" you don't change your expression "and we'll buy you chocolate the next time we go to hogsmeade"
"help with what?" this time, the boy that caught your eye talks.
"we need to learn how to do this charm" he points to the book, and maybe you look at his hand before reading the words he's pointing to. you also notice how sirius and james smile when remus talks.
"why would you need to know how to turn someone's clothes pink, permanently?" you ask, they all look at each other before looking at you. you sigh "why would i know how to do this?"
"i'd quite fall in love with you if you did" sirius talks. "but you're smart, you'll be able to learn it" you start packing your things. "is that a yes?"
"what do i win?" you ask, already standing.
"chocolate" you start to walk away, leaving the book there. "we'll give you alcohol at the next pureblood party" you smile before grabbing the book.
"i'll tell you as soon as i get it"
they all hear you say goodbye to peter before he sits.
"why did she talk to you?" james asks.
"we're friends?" peter explains, getting started with his homework.
"soooo… do you like her?" sirius asks remus, who just rolls his eyes before getting up.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
the next time he sees you, you're walking to him, who's reading at the library. you put the book with the charm before him, and quickly sit besides him.
"i know how to do the charm… " you wait for him to introduce himself.
"remus, remus lupin" he answers, putting his book aside.
"remus, right" you talk, like you didn't know his name before.
you explain how to do it, and after he gets the theory right, all there's left to do is practise it.
"i'll do one of his socks and you'll do the other one" you point at snape, who has glared at you since you've been here.
"i didn't expect you to be like this" remus says, smiling, before slowly pulling out his wand.
"what did you expect?"
"i don't know, sirius and james don't usually talk about you"
"i wonder why" you smile, before quietly charming one of snape's socks, turning it bright pink. "your turn"
remus copies your actions, successfully turning snape's left sock pink. you look at each other, quietly laughing, and quickly pack your things so you can walk out before he notices.
you walk next to him in the hallway, though neither of you know where you're going.
"what do you need the charm for?" you ask him.
"we're pranking someone" he explains.
"should i be scared?" you question and he chuckles.
"no, your clothes will be safe"
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
the next time you talk, he's the one who approaches you.
"can i sit here?" he points at the chair next to you "i want to study but they're being to loud" you nod, and you talk as he sits.
"why don't you do a silent charm on them?" he chuckles.
"they'll find a way to be even louder"
and that's how it starts, neither of you know why, but since then, we you enter the library, you immediately look for each other.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"you're the one who did that research on werewolves aren't you? teachers don't stop talking about how good it is" some guy asks you as he stands in front of you, the table in between you two.
"yes" he was one of those pureblood guys, who only cared about their status.
"you didn't talk about them being bad people" you stare at him, trying to find out why he's telling you that. "i just thought you'd like someone to tell you about your mistake"
"it's not a mistake, they aren't bad people" you tell him.
"well, then you're wrong, they're obviously bad" he rolls his eyes, like it's obvious that he's right.
"did you just come here to talk shit about werewolves?" you focus on your homework, mentally aiming in case you have to throw something at him.
"no, i came here to see if you were a respectable pureblood, but let me guess, you fight for elves' rights too?" he seems upset with you, but he doesn't leave, instead, he looks at you like a challenge.
"what, you want me to join your cause too and fight for arseholes' rights? maybe we should put your face on the banner so they know how one looks" you smile sarcastically at him.
"what is wrong with you? i just wanted to let you know that werewolves are bad and you're being a bitch" he seems actually upset, his superior grin gone now.
"oh, so you were looking out for me? what would I do without people minding my business? now just shut up and maybe look into your prejudices instead of my life" you stop looking at him.
"how can you think that they aren't bad? i thought you were smart" now he seems offended that you aren't like he imagined, but maybe he thinks that he can change you, because he smiles again.
"sorry to disappoint you. and, something can be dangerous but good at the same time, just because they have claws doesn't mean they'd stab you, but maybe a girl who’s been bothered by you will" you say, as his eyes go to the pen on your hands.
“did you just threaten me?” he has the audacity to look offended as he talks.
“i don’t know, did i? a bitch like me wouldn’t know” you smile, faking innocence.
"you’re fucking crazy” he mutters as he turns around.
when he leaves -not before insulting you again-, neither of you notice a certain tall guy, with scars on his face and a knitted sweater standing around a bookcase, listening to all the conversation.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you don’t know how, but james and sirius convinced you to hang out with the marauders, maybe the mention of some boy with honey eyes and a mullet, but still. you find yourself on the gryffindor common room, listening to them as they tell you about their best pranks.
and remus must’ve sensed that you’re cold, because the next thing you know is that hes handing you his sweater.
“what?” you ask him
"you're cold" he shrugs.
"but, what about you?" you question, not taking the sweater.
"i'm fine, just put in on love" you obey, thanking him before looking back at james and peter, acting as you're not noticing sirius' smile.
when you finally get up to go back to your room, while peter, james and sirius are too distracted talking to frank, you take of the sweater and hand it to remus.
"what?" he asks, frowning.
"it's yours"
"you can give it to me other day"
"but i won't need it"
"love, just let me have an excuse to talk to you" he tells you, and you stop for a moment before answering, not believing him.
"you don't need an excuse to talk to me" he smiles.
"keep it anyway"
"if you insist" he kisses your cheek goodbye, and that night you're only thinking about him.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"please just this once" james asks, and it looks like he's actually going to beg you to help them.
"i don't have time for pranks" you walk away, and the four marauders immediately follow you.
"you just need to distract him" sirius talks, walking to stand in front of you.
"and why would i do that?" you ask, going around him.
"because you appreciate our friendship?" this time is peter who talks, and you actually think about it for a second.
"i don't-" before you can finish, remus intervenes.
"love, just this once, okay? then we won't bother you" and you know it's not true, that they will bother you. but every doubt you had disappeared as soon as he talked. so you nod.
"where is he?"
and that's how you find yourself talking to binns, asking him about his class, solving questions you never had.
then you see remus walking towards you, looking so innocent, and you keep nodding at binns, like you're so interested in what he's saying.
when he turns around due to the sound of an explosion that you definitely had no idea about, remus walks next to you, grabbing your hand, and suddenly you're running down the hallway next to him.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
remus’ face is so close to yours that your noses are practically touching as you giggle.
“why are we hiding?” you ask, a smile not leaving your face and his hand not letting go of yours.
“because, certain friends of ours are bothering me" he closes his eyes, his forehead on yours as he talks.
"what if they're not bothering me?" you joke, sarcasm in your tone.
"oh, so you're saying I dragged you into this cupboard?" he pulls away, his hand on your chest as he acts offended.
"yes, i didn't expect this behaviour from you, lupin" he rolls his eyes at the mention of his last name, as you laugh.
"then leave" he challenges, but his hand doesn't let go of yours.
"ok" you say, but you don't move.
when you walk out of the cupboard, both of you hear people talking.
"do you think they're dating?"
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you're just peacefully lying on your bed, reading a book remus had lent you when someone opens your door. you assume it's one of your roommates when that someone approaches you, grabs the book from your hands, and turns you so you're on your back. just to lie on top of you.
"hi" you say, not sure what to do when he puts his head on your chest and closes his eyes.
"hi love" he replies. and after a while he lifts his head, grabs your hand and puts it on his hair.
"what are you doing?" you question him.
"touch my hair" he demands, and you don't, just to mess with him.
"what if i don't want to?" you smile, and he groans.
then, when he notices that you're being serious, he puts his head up once again, this time to glare at you.
he repeats his actions and puts your hand on his hair, and closes his eyes again.
"don't move"
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"what did you do?" you ask remus as he sits in your bed.
"they were talking shit" he says as you go to the bathroom to look for the first aid kit you keep in there.
"you got into a fight because they were talking shit?" you stand in front of him, in between his legs.
he doesn't answer, instead, he winces when you start cleaning his face.
"remus?" you insist, waiting for an answer
"yes?" he acts oblivious, though it doesn't last much, as you start cleaning his face again, you mutter a quiet sorry before talking again.
"why the fuck did you get into a fight?"
"they were talking sh-" you glare at him.
"lupin"
"last name basis?" he tries to smile at you, but you turn his face to the side so you can look at the bruise forming on his cheek.
"yes, answer" he sighs before talking.
"i told you, they were talking shit" you keep glaring at him until he talks again "they were talking shit about you"
you stop moving for a second, processing the information.
"you got into a fight because they were talking shit about me?"
"yes" he stares at you, waiting for a reaction.
"are you fucking stupid?"
"maybe that wasn't the reaction i expected" he mutters to himself.
"you are actually stupid" you don't talk again, you just focus on cleaning his face, which means he has a lot of time to talk.
"what did you want me to do? i just couldn't stand there as he was saying how you were a bitch and shit like that" he groans when you don't answer "i warned them, i said that if they didn't stop i'd punch them"
"oh, you warned them, how nice" you reply, sarcastically.
"don't be mad at me, please" he wraps his arms around your legs, and puts his head on your stomach.
"what do you want me to do?" you put your hand on his hair.
"i don't care, just don't be mad at me"
"oh, so i should just congratulate you? thank you so much remus for defending me, should i kiss you to show my gratitude?"
"you could kiss me, not because of that, but you could" you don't even acknowledge him as you walk to the bathroom to throw away everything you used to clean his face.
when you come back, he's in front of you, touching your cheek as he talks.
"you're not gonna say anything?" he asks, as you try your best to not look away from his eyes.
"about what?" he chuckles, but doesn't move his hand away from your face.
"about the fact that i said that you could kiss me" you fail your goal, because your eyes immediately go to his lips. and of course, he notices.
"what do you want me to say?" you ask, rolling your eyes at his smirk.
"i think the question is what i want you to do"
"you just got into a fight" you remind him.
"just because you're mad doesn't mean you can't kiss me"
"i know"
and you really know, so you kiss him. and it starts as a sweet kiss, slow, just to prove that it's real. but then one of his hands goes to the back of your neck and the other cups your jaw.
your hands go to the back of his neck, finding balance when he pulls you closer to him.
you pull away for a second, breathing heavily as you look at each other's eyes.
"we shouldn't do this" you remind him.
"i know" he says, slowly walking so you have to walk back.
"i'm still mad at you" you tell him, sitting in your bed, looking up at him.
"i got into a fight because of you and you say that?" he smirks, pushing you so you have no choice but to lie down.
one of his knees rests in between your legs, his hands on both sides of your head. your hands go to the back of his neck again.
"you wound me" he tells you, before kissing your neck.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you had plans today, it was friday and you had no classes after lunch, so you were gonna start getting ready and maybe drinking with the girls before going to the party the gryffindor were hosting.
but those plans got a bit ruined when you got a letter from your family during lunch, which usually meant bad news.
you don't really remember a lot from the letter, all you know is that you had two choices: marrying barty or getting disowned.
after reading the letter, all you can do is put it in your pocket and try to stop the tears coming from your eyes. you don't even look at your friends or at the food that remus put on your plate. instead, you think about the words you just read.
"i have to go" you suddenly get up, grab your things and walk away, not noticing the concerned looks on your friends faces, especially on remus'.
they all stare at you as you walk out the great hall.
you find an empty hall and sit in one of the windows, finally letting out the tears. you don't long how long you stay like that, but suddenly someone walks next to you.
"hey, hey, it's okay, it's okay" all you notice are the tears running down your face, and remus' arms around you. as he holds you and tells you that everything is fine.
once you calm down, he waits a bit to ask
"what happened? do you wanna talk about it?" he asks, and you don't even look at him, not wanting to see the worry in his eyes.
"no, it's okay" he seems disappointed with your answer, but doesn't stop rubbing your back "thank you"
"it's nothing" he tries to find something to say, something to comfort you, but before he can even think of anything, you get up.
"you're going to the party, right?" you look at him, drying your tears.
"are you gonna go?" he asks, frowning.
"yes" he seems a bit surprised, because now you're smiling.
"then yes" you smile even more at his answer.
"i'll see you there" you give him a quick peck on his cheek before walking away.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
the next time remus sees you, you're dancing, lily and marlene next to you.
he stands away for a bit, not in the mood to dance, but when he sees you're gonna refill your cup for the fifth time since he has been there. he decides to approach you.
"hi" he says, standing next to you.
"hi remus" you smile at him, drinking from your now full cup.
"how many of those have you had?" he asks.
"i don't know, seven, maybe eight? who cares" you tell him, holding his hand and dragging him to the dance floor, but he quickly redirects you to one of the sofas.
"i do, you're gonna pass out if you keep drinking" he says as he tries to get the cup from your hand, but you quickly move your hand away and frown.
"i'll be okay"
"no you won't"
"i'm not even that drunk"
"you saw sirius and called him reggie" you smile, remembering the horrified look in sirius' eyes.
"they look alike" you shrug.
"you should stop drinking"
"i'll be okay" he tries to reply, tries to tell you that maybe you won't, but you get up, and before he can even stand up, you get lost among the people.
the next time he sees you, you're on the couch, head in your hands as you try to stop the tears from your eyes.
remus sits next to you. a hand on you back as he leans to see your face.
"are you drunk?" you nod "do you want to go to sleep" you nod, so he gets up and holds your hand, making your way through the crowd.
once you reach the hall, he doesn't let go of your hand. he notices that something's wrong, he notices that you haven't complained to sirius about being in a pureblood family, like you do each time you receive a letter from them. he notices that you're trying not to cry. he notices that you're barely holding his hand, maybe it's because you're drunk or you're too sad to.
and he wants to say something, he wants to help. but he decides to wait until you're in your room. he helps you get your makeup off and change into your pjs. he's folding your clothes while you're sitting on the side of your bed when he hears smalls sobs.
he immediately sits next to you, drying your tears.
"it's okay, everything will be alright" he hugs you, mentally cursing when you shake your head.
"you don't get it" you tell him, in between sobs.
"then explain it to me" he says, wondering if it's the same thing as what happened at lunch.
"i can't" you sigh, pulling away from him as you dry your tears.
"yes you can, i want to help you" his hands go to your face, holding you.
"you can't-" you insist, putting your hands over his.
"please let me help"
"remus-"
"i don't care if it's hard, i want to help" he insists, staring at your eyes.
"let's sleep" he knows better than to insist more, so he just lets you sleep.
when you wake up, you don't talk, you just walk with him to breakfast, and when you're finished, you walk away, not letting him know where you're going.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
"i don't know what's happening in between us, but-" you look away from his eyes "i can't do this"
"what?" he asks, praying that he's dreaming, or that it's a bad joke, praying that you're not breaking up with him, even if you're not together.
"what did i do? what happened?" he tries to find your gaze.
"you didn't do anything, i just can't" i have to marry someone else.
"let me fix it, whatever i did, let me fix it, you can hate me but don't go away"
"i'll probably leave school as soon as i can" you admit, you don't even know why, you just don't want to disappear without explanations.
"what? no, you can't leave" he panics, he looks around trying to find someone laughing at him. he doesn't.
"i'm sorry" you talk, unable to look at his eyes.
"don't, please, don't apologise" he says, grabbing your hands, in case you want to run away.
"i'm so sorry" you repeat.
"you don't have to do that" he insists, because he doesn't want to lose you.
"i don't want to hurt you" you tell him, thinking about the letter your parents just sent you, thinking about your future, which is already decided, not by the stars, but by your family.
"then stay, stay here, with me" he pulls your hands, so your bodies are closer.
"you know i can't" you lament, even though he doesn't know that much.
"yes you can, you just have to try" he suddenly lets your hands go, taking a step away from you. and you try to get mad at him, but you can't, not when he's looking that hurt, hurt by you.
"remus-" you try to get him to listen, maybe if he gives you a chance, you'll show the letter to him, you'll explain everything to him. how you have no choice but to listen to your parents.
"are you even sorry? you don't seem to have tried to stay" you know he doesn't mean it, he knows he doesn't mean it. but it's better that way, it'll be easier if he's mad at you. so you don't answer. you just stare at him.
"you're not gonna answer?" he asks, tears on the corner of both of your eyes. "i thought you liked me" you swear you can feel your heart break as the words leave his mouth.
"i do-" he cuts you off.
"then why don't you stay? is it just a game to you? you wanted to play with me?" he keeps talking, he tries to stop, he wants to, but the hurt in his heart makes him keep going.
"i didn't, remus, it's not that easy" you tell him, begging him to understand.
"i never said i wanted things to be easy. especially not with you" he fights the urge to walk away, thinking that maybe there's a chance that you'll change your mind.
"i don't want to hurt you" you repeat, maybe more to remind you than to him.
"you're already hurting me"
"you have to understand"
"when you defended werewolves from that guy you already knew i was one didn't you? maybe he was right and you're a bitch after all, did you tell him that just to shag me?" he doesn't even blink as he talks, pretending he's not mad at himself right now, even more than with you.
"you don't mean that" you say as the tears fall from your eyes.
"oh, i do" that's what it takes for him to finally walk away, letting the tears out of his eyes.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you couldn't focus, it was all too much. the pain from the unforgivable curse, the sadness from your own family doing that, the realisation that you could never go back to your house.
all you could do is try to not pass out as you walk to the potter's mansion.
once you reach their door, and ring it, you wait. you don't know if it was ten seconds, ten minutes or even ten hours. all you know is that when james opens the door, you practically throw yourself at him, who catches you as he calls for his parents.
"i'm sorry" you whisper in between sobs.
"it's okay, you'll be okay, everything's going to be fine" james tries to not show the concern on his voice, he really tries, but everyone must've sense it, because remus, sirius and peter quickly appear, staring at you as effie kneels down next to you.
when you finally pass out, all you know is that it hurts, everything hurts.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
you wake up with effie folding clothes next to you.
"oh hi sweetie, how are you feeling?" she immediately sits next to you, touching your forehead to check your temperature.
"good" you answer, quietly.
"you have clothes here, you can take a shower and i'll make dinner" she walks to the door as you sit up.
"effie, thank you so much, you don't have to do this, i'll be okay"
"we'll talk later" she doesn't give you room to talk, instead, she leaves after giving you a smile.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
effie and fleamont sit in front of you as you eat, staring at you and then at each other.
"we want you to stay here" fleamont is the first to talk as soon as you finish eating.
"what? no, i can't, i'll find somewhere to stay"
"no, you'll stay here, we have your room ready" effie insists.
"i can't"
"sweetie, there's no way to stop this now, the faster you accept it the better" fleamont talks as effie gets up and tells you to follow her to show you your room.
they leave you a moment to see your room before walking in.
"thank you so much" you say before they hug you, drying your tears before they fall on your face.
"it's okay honey, you'll be fine" they assure you before walking out of the room. "and, by the way, the boys are sleeping, we'll tell them to come here when they wake up, they're really worried"
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
he thinks it's unfair, remus thinks that it's unfair that you're talking to peter like nothing happened, that you're playing quidditch with james and sirius like you weren't crying in his arms just a few weeks ago. he thinks it's unfair that you haven't even glanced at him. he thinks it's unfair that you look like nothing ever happened, he hates that you're acting like everything it's okay, like you're not hurt by your family, by his words.
he also thinks he's being selfish, by slightly hoping that you're as hurt as him. that you think of him as much as he thinks of you. he hopes that you also have the urge to go to his room in the middle of the night. he hopes that you're as jealous as he is when someone starts flirting with you at the party james organised at his house.
but he also thinks that none of it it's possible, that you look way too happy to be thinking of him, that if you're planning on getting drunk, you definitely don't want his help.
he doesn't know if it was between staring at you as you flirted back with that guy, or when he was searching for you while you were nowhere to be found. but he gets drunk.
and suddenly, all the doubts he had about you disappear, because you're next to him, rubbing his back and asking him if he's drunk. and you wouldn't help him if you hated him would you?.
he just stares at you as you hold his hand and make your way through the crowd, not so kindly pushing people who didn't move. you help him through the barrier james magically applied on the stairs so no one but his friends could walk upstairs.
when you reach his room, you help him walk to his bed, which is kinda difficult seeing his stumbling tall figure. once he is in the safety of his mattress, you walk to the door, but his voice stops you.
"i can't sleep with my shirt on" when you turn around, he's smirking.
"then take it off" you turn your back to him again.
"i need help" when you turn around, not before rolling your eyes, he's giving you puppy eyes.
remus lupin. is. giving. you. puppy eyes.
"you aren't that drunk" you don't even move from the door.
"yes i am. you're really gonna leave me here, drunk and defenceless?" he lies back on his bed.
"are you trying to blackmail me?" you frown, leaning your back onto his closed door.
"is it working?" he asks, hoping it does.
"no" he sighs, before leaning on his elbows to look at you.
"c'mon love, just help me take my shirt off" you don't answer, instead, you just get closer to him, and help him sit up, once he is, he doesn't move, he just looks up at you.
"you're not gonna put your arms up?" you groan, frustrated, when he just smiles at you.
after a few minutes of work, due to his boycott, you finally take his shirt off, throwing it aside before walking away.
or that's what you try, because before you can even turn around, his arms are around you. and you don't know how he's so strong, or why you didn't try to fight back more, maybe it was the alcohol. but before you notice it. you're on the bed next to him, and he's hugging you so tight that you have no choice but to fall asleep.
when you wake up he's still hugging you, luckily not as strong as last night, so you can get up and slowly walk to the door, quietly closing it and making the way to your room.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
remus is almost convinced that it was a dream, he thinks he imagined everything when he wakes up and you're not there, he thinks it was his mind tricking him when you sit next to marlene at breakfast. even though he purposely left the sit next to him free.
he's basically drowning in his tea when marlene says something that makes him look at you.
"where were you last night? you left soon" he stares at you, noticing the way your eyes linger at him for a moment before saying that you were tired. and it would be childish for him to admit that it made him happy, that he doesn't even notice the hangover now, that he's smiling so much that even effie asked him about it.
and it would be even more childish to admit that he's been giving james the idea to throw another party just before holidays end, that he doesn't need to invite anyone, just the group of friends it's okay. and who is james to say no to a party?.
he spends more time that he wants to admit staring at you. as you talk to lily and mary, as you almost make sirius drop his drink, as you hug james. and especially, as you ignore him. so he does what he knows will make you talk to him, getting drunk.
it follows the same order as the other night. you approach him, lead him upstairs and help him get ready to bed.
"why did you leave?" he asks, holding your wrist after you tried to walk to the door. he sees how you think about the answer. and to be honest, he didn't think he was ready to hear it.
"because that's what a bitch would do" you break free from his grip and walk to the door. he just stays there as you go back downstairs.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
the next morning, no one knows why remus looks so miserable, why he's being so grumpy to everyone, except you. why he's putting food on your plate, why he's making everyone put on the movie you want to see.
they also don't know why you're ignoring him, why you offered the plate to james, why you changed your mind and told marlene to decide what movie to watch.
but you knew, you knew because you've been listening to him apologise every other minute, you've been listening to him knocking on your door every night. you've been reading his apology letters.
but that wasn't enough, because just two days before classes start again, he decides that he's had enough, and that he won't leave before giving you a proper apology. so he follows you to the kitchen when everyone is focused on the movie. and he stands on your way to the door so you have no choice but to listen.
"i didn't mean it, and you know that, you know i'd never think that. and i know it's not an excuse, but it was days before a full moon, and i wanted to hate you, i wanted to hate you for making me love you and then leaving me. and i wanted you to hate me because i wouldn't be able to be around you. and i'm so sorry, i'll do anything to take it back, i need you to understand that i didn't mean it, and that i'm so sorry i ever made you feel bad. there's no day i haven't thought about you, about how much i miss you, about how i ruined everything. so please, give me a second chance, i'll apologise every minute if i have to, i'll do anything for you to forgive me. because i don't think i can stand the thought of what we could've had if i hadn't ruined everything." he takes a deep breath "i'm so so so sorry"
and you know that you shouldn’t, that he’s hurt you as much as you’ve hurt him. but you’re both teenagers, you both make mistakes, and you both miss each other. so you do what everyone would’ve done in this situation, and hug him, breathing him in.
“does that mean you forgive me?” he asks.
“yes, i’m sorry” you close your eyes, your head in his chest.
“you have nothing to apologise for, love”
“yes i do-” he cuts you off by pressing a quick kiss to your lips.
“let’s just go to sleep”
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ.
you don’t know why james drags you from the kitchen, where you were talking with everyone, to your room, with the suitcase half done on the floor. you don’t know why he slams the door. or why he’s staring at you like you told him you forbade quidditch.
but then he talks.
“did you forgive him?”
and you remember the conversation you had with him after spending a few nights here.
“weren’t you two in love?” you’re on his bed, still not used to your new room, you’re both laying on your backs, him throwing his snitch and catching it.
“who?” you ask, staring at the ceiling.
“remus” he says it like it’s obvious, and it actually is.
“i don’t know” you shrug.
“what happened?” he asks.
“i ruined everything” you explain.
“that’s not true” he frowns.
“how do you know that?” you chuckle.
“you wouldn’t ruin anything” he says, so sincere.
“i was supposed to marry barty” the snitch falls and hits his face.
“what?!” he immediately sits up.
“so i told him i couldn’t do whatever we were doing"
"and he just accepted it?" he's frowning even more.
"he was sad at first, then mad, but he stopped talking to me, so it worked" you shrug again, and he gets closer to you.
"mad?"
"it's okay"
"i know how remus gets when he gets mad, did he say something to you?" he looks worried, already thinking about punching remus.
"nothing to bad, the normal when the person you're in love with and it's in love with you dumps you for no reason"
"what's the normal?" he questions.
"james, it's okay"
and with that beautiful flashback, you come back to an angry james in front of you.
"don't dare to move, i'll talk to you later, let me have a chat with remus first" he tries to get out of the room, but you stop him.
"james wait"
“stop trying to defend him, and don’t try to walk away, you won’t move until you tell me everything” he stands in front of you, arms crossed.
"james let me explain"
"you want to talk? talk, i'm not leaving until i know everything" he sounds determined, and you know that he won't stop until he knows everything.
"there's nothing to know, just leave it" you insist.
"what did he say to you?" he takes at step, so he's closer to you.
"james-"
"what did he say to you?"
"james, stop"
"now, i won't stop until you tell me what the fuck he told you, and why you're together with him after that"
"because it doesn't matter, it's already over"
"it doesn't matter?! you're saying it doesn't fucking matter? after weeks of seeing you miserable, and because of him?" he pinchs the bridge of his nose. "honestly, if you're not going to tell me what he told you, then don't even bother talking"
he tries to walk away, again, but you stand in front of the door.
"what's the point? i already forgave him, so, what are you going to do, make me leave him?" you question him, praying that he doesn't actually say yes.
"you don't know what i'm willing to do for you happiness" he tries to walk past you, but you don't move.
"please don't be mad at me"
"then tell me what he said to you" his eyes soften, looking at yours.
"why? what are you going to do about it?"
"it depends" he avoids your gaze.
"james."
"maybe punch him" he looks away.
"james"
"please tell me what he said" he asks, this time softer.
and you don't know why, maybe it's the look on his eyes, or the fact that you know he wouldn't let it go until you did. but you say everything to him, from how you approached him, how you were both almost crying, how he walked away.
and it takes him a moment to react, he's sitting in your bed, and you immediately get up to stand in front of him.
"james…" he gets up.
"i need to have a chat with remus" he tries to walk past you, but you don't let him.
"james."
"what?"
"please, just, stay here with me. you can help me pack" you give him your best puppy eyes until he agrees, sitting on the floor next to you, passing you clothes as you put them in your suitcase.
‧₊˚ 🌕⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾.
and it all looked perfect. it seemed like james had already forgotten everything by the time dinner is ready. and it seems like he's really happy when he suggests to watch a movie.
but then something changes. maybe it was remus' hand on your tight, or the fight scene on the movie. but the next thing you know, is that there's a fist right in remus' face. and that fist belongs to james.
"you said you wouldn't do anything!" you immediately get up, putting yourself in front of remus, while sirius and marlene pull james back.
"i had to!" he says.
"james!" you fight the urge to roll your eyes.
"i'm sorry! but i couldn't help it! i had to do something about it!" he explains.
"about what?" lily asks, and you stiffen, looking at james with wary eyes.
"yes, about what?" james asks you, and you glare at him as mary and peter take care of remus' face.
"about nothing" you immediately say, backing up as they all stare at you.
and they're complaining about it as soon as you say it, but remus stops them.
"about me hurting her" no one knows how to react, you just stare at him as he stretches his neck.
"you fucking hurt her?" lily talks, walking towards him, and it seemed like she had the intention of repeating james' actions. so you step in front of her.
"it's all forgotten, there's no reason to punch anyone" you stare at james "especially when you promised you wouldn't"
"i'm sorry-" he tries to apologise.
"it's okay, i deserved it" remus talks.
"no you didn't?" you tell him, but he just smiles at you.
"i'm going to sleep"
you all stare at him as he walks upstairs, and when you turn around they're all staring at you.
"if i forgave him, you can do it too" you say, especially looking at james. "so, i hope you apologise to him, because he deserves it"
when you get to remus' room, he's looking at himself in the mirror.
"i'm sorry" you sneak in front of him, hugging him as you put your head in his chest.
"why" he chuckles, hugging you back.
"what do you mean why, are you stupid?" you questions him.
"love, it's not your fault" he smiles as you narrow your eyes at him. "i deserved it"
"shut up" you immediately pull away from him, storming out of the bathroom.
he grabs your wrist before you can walk out of the room, and as soon as he gets it his arms are around you.
"don't be mad at me" he pleads, and when you don't answer, his lips go to your cheek. "please"
when you don't answer he just keeps kissing you.
"please"
this time is your other cheek.
"cmon love"
your forehead.
"just talk to me"
your nose.
"please"
your lips
"love"
your neck.
and you know that he'll start going lower if you don't stop him. and you know that if he does you won't be mad anymore. so you pull away from him.
"you're stupid, remus lupin" you glare at him "if you ever say that you deserve any hurt ever again i'll be the one punching you instead of james. and i'll also cry"
"why would you cry?" he genuinely asks, putting one of his hands on your cheek.
"because you don't deserve anything bad remus. you're literally an angel"
"don't say that" you frown at him, and he looks away.
"remus, i mean it"
"i know" he puts his forehead on yours "that's why i don't want you to say it"
"why?"
"because it's gonna make me love you even more"
before you can answer, he's kissing you again, this time for real, when he pulls away, he stares at you.
"i know everyone already says that we're dating, but can we make it official?" his hands are on your cheeks, and he thinks that he's never been more nervous in his life.
"i'd love to" this time, you're the one who kisses him, and you stay like that for a while, in each other's arms. before someone knocks on the door.
when you open, you find james on the other side, with regret in his eyes.
"can i talk to remus?" you narrow your eyes at him as remus appears behind you.
"it's alright love"
you go to the living room with everyone, and before you know it, james and remus are walking in, talking and laughing.
everyone stares at them as they get closer to the couch.
"what?" they ask, staring back at you.
"everything's… fine?" lily asks, and when they both smile and nod, everyone smiles and cheers, a bit exaggerated.
remus sits next to you, putting and arm around you and kissing you.
and if before they were dramatic, now it's like their favourite team won the quidditch world cup.
"what?" this time remus and you ask, staring at them.
"you just kissed?" mary says, not believing it.
"yeah?" you answer.
"why" marlene asks, narrowing her eyes.
"we're dating" remus says, and the night ends between cheers, screams and hugs.
sirius and james even cry a bit, hugging each other while saying "finally!" "we did it!"

Hiya! I’m from Wattpad. I have a oneshot request. Could you write a Remus oneshot where the reader is either James or Sirius’ sister and she’s a werewolf too, she doesn’t know Remus is and Remus doesn’t know she is, but one day, she forgets to cover the scars on her face and she’s partnered with Remus in potions and he notices them, knowing how she got them. Then after class he confronts her about it and she replies stating that she didn’t want him to have to deal with her problems too because she cares so much about him, and then they confess? if this is too detailed I’m sorry its just hoe my brain works I don’t request often and I’s write this myself but I have so many other ideas rn. Also do you post the oneshots both here and Wattpad?

Last night was that time of the month. A night that was always followed by exhaustion and frustration. As the full moon shined bright, your body underwent your second excruciatingly painful transformation into the form of a werewolf.
Two months ago, in the summer before your last year at Hogwarts, you got bitten. You were out in the back garden of your home, relaxing beneath the moonlit sky when a werewolf approached. Everything was a blur, and all you could remember was James’ voice as he casted numerous combat spells to get rid of it.
As of now, your brother James and your parents were the only ones that knew of your lycanthropy. He didn’t want to expose your secret to Remus, and he didn’t want to expose Remus’ secret to you, so he refrained from asking him for help. It was hard for James to decide not to join the rest of the Marauders on full moons, as they would always accompany Remus as their animagi during his transformations, however he chose to stay by your side instead. Last month, he prepared his plan a few days prior, acting sick so that he could have an excuse on the night of the full moon.
Now that school started, it was harder for him to think of an excuse to not join them. Last night he told them that he got detention with Filch, which they barely believed, because if one of them got detention, all four of them did.
It was the morning after, and you were running late to class. Exhaustion was taking its toll on you as you rushed off to potions, still half asleep. You hardly managed to put your tie on correctly, adjusting it as you quickly took your seat in the classroom.
“Miss Potter. You’re just in time. You’ll be partnered with Lupin for this month’s project. Please join him at his table.” Professor Slughorn spoke.
“Yes, Professor.” You answered, moving your books over to the table that Remus was sitting at.
Remus looked at you, offering you a polite smile. “Good morning, Y/n.”
You hung around the Marauders very often, as James would bring you along with him whenever he’d see them. It wasn’t uncommon for you to get roped into their pranks somehow. You were always closest to Remus, as he was the easiest to speak to about anything. He was the only one out of the group other than James that you’d spend time with alone, studying together or having butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks. Despite your closeness, he never confessed his lycanthropy to you, and you hadn’t confessed yours out of fear of burdening him.
“Morning.” You replied, covering your mouth to yawn.
He turned his head to look at you, his heart sinking as he saw the scars on your face. Your transformation from the previous night had taken a serious toll on you, and your rush to get to class caused you to completely forget to cover them. Despite his immediate recognition of what they meant, he didn’t let it show on his face.
“You seem tired. Did you get any sleep?” He inquired, pulling out a chocolate bar from his pocket.
“It was a long night. I was studying.” You answered.
“Studying? This early in the school year? That’s not like you at all.” He teased, offering you the chocolate. "Have some chocolate. You'll feel better."
“Thanks." You took a pieceI’m getting a head start. I’m gonna be ahead of the game this year.”
“Right. We’ll see how long this new you lasts.”
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
After Slughorn’s dismissal of the class, you gathered your books and walked out with Remus.
“May I ask you about something, Y/n?” Remus queried, walking beside you.
“Of course. Anything.”
He looked around, making sure the coast was clear before taking your hand before pulling you into an empty classroom. You looked at him in confusion, setting your books down on a desk.
“Those scars. On your face. What happened?”
You swallowed nervously, raising a hand to feel your cheek. Your stomach sank as you realised that you forgot one crucial step in your routine this morning.
“I don’t want to worry you, Remus. It’s nothing.” You spoke.
“You’re worrying me by not telling me. Please, Y/n. Let me help you.” He took your hand from your face, holding it in his own.
“I…I don’t know where to start.” You kept your eyes down, staring at the floor in shame.
“How long?” He questioned.
“What?” You looked up at him, furrowing your brows.
“How long ago were you bitten?”
“How did you know?”
“You look completely drained, there are scars on your face, James has spent two full moons in a row away from us, and I noticed the mark on your arm during class. Your sleeve was riding up while you were taking notes.” He answered, still holding your hand.
Your eyes widened briefly, and you could feel your stomach turning uneasily. Had it been that obvious? Could everyone else tell too?
“Nobody would know unless they knew what to look for.” He said after a moment, almost as if he had read your anxious thoughts.
“But you know what to look for?” You asked.
“I do.” Silence hung in the air for a few moments, before he spoke again, soft and earnestly. “I do because I’m a werewolf too.”
His confession brought both shock and relief to you, and you couldn’t deny the urge to pull him into an embrace, so you did. He wrapped his arms around you, rubbing your back and allowing you to bury your face into his chest. “I’m sorry, Y/n. I know how terrible it is. Especially in the beginning. I’m so sorry.” He rested his cheek on your head, sighing deeply.
“How long?” You asked, pulling your head away slightly to look up at him.
“I was four.” He answered, a hint of sadness in his voice.
“Here I was, not telling you because I didn’t want you to have to deal with my problems too. I care too much about you to burden you with my own issues.”
“I care too much about you to let you deal with things on your own. You could never burden me. I had a suspicion, you know. Somehow I felt it. I should’ve asked you sooner. I could’ve helped you in some way.” He replied with a trace of guilt in his tone.
“That’s not your fault, Remus. I didn’t want you to know. I didn’t want you to look at me differently, either.”
“I suppose that's the reason I kept it from you, too. I didn’t want you to look at me differently.” He admitted, releasing you from his arms.
“At least now we don’t have to deal with it alone. We have each other.” You smiled at him.
“Your brother, Sirius, and Peter have helped me through countless transformations. If you’re comfortable with it, I think it’s a good idea for you to join us on full moons. It makes a world of a difference, knowing that there are people supporting you.”
You nodded, feeling a weight lift off of your shoulders. “I think I will.”
There was a brief moment of silence between you two, as Remus mustered up the courage to say what he so desperately wanted to say.
“There’s something else I’d like to confess, Y/n.”
“Yes?”
“I don’t just care about you as a friend. My feelings for you run deeper than that. I’ve admired you for a long time now, and I care about you more than I can express. I realised that as I saw your scars this morning.” He reached out with a gentle hand, cupping your cheek. ”I want to be there for you, always.”
“Remus…” You spoke, hesitantly but with certainty. “I feel the same way. I never thought I’d find someone that understands me as deeply as you do.”
"And please, don't think that I'm judging your scars. I only took note of them because I knew what they meant. Trust me, you're as beautiful as ever." He smiled warmly, before closing the gap between the two of you to press a gentle kiss to your lips. “Merlin, James is going to kill me.”

“Hey, Y/N, can I ask you something?” Remus asks as he sits next to you in the Library. You look up at him and raise an eyebrow. Lily had walked away only seconds before to find a book for a paper the two of you were working on.
“Sure?” You say, hesitantly. Remus Lupin had become your best friend over the past year since Slughorn paired the two of you up at the beginning of fourth year.
“Okay, um… I like this girl and I’m not sure how to ask her out,” he says. You stare at him for a second, your heart clenching. You didn’t know Remus liked someone. He hadn’t told you anything about it. And you were head over heels for him, so why was he asking you?
“Oh. Why can’t you ask Sirius or James? They ask girls out all the time,” you say and roll your eyes, hoping to come off more playful than annoyed. Remus scratches his neck and scoots his chair a little closer to you.
“That’s all Sirius does. And James hasn’t really had much luck, has he?” He asks, glancing at Lily’s stuff. You chuckle a little and shrug.
“I guess you’re right about that.”
“Besides. I really like this girl. I don’t want to mess it up,” he says. You look at him and give him a look. He seems a little taken aback by it. “What?”
“Remus, you could literally never speak to someone before and simply walk past them in the hall way and they’d probably like you. Everyone has had a crush on you, Remus. You have nothing to worry about,” you say, knowing it’s true. Remus had made all of your friends like him at some point. You had yet to find someone that said the man wasn’t at least attractive. He knew it too. Sirius complained about how easily he got people to like him all the time.
Remus blinks at you, a slight blush on his cheeks. “Have you liked me?” As soon as he says the words you realize your mistake. A blush heats your cheeks quickly and you look back down at your homework.
“Oh, um… I…” Remus raises an eyebrow at you and shifts forward to get you to look at him. He had that look on his face that made you weak in the knees. You were glad you were already sitting down. He was leaning forward with his elbows on his knees and his hands ever-so-slightly brushed against your leg. For once, he was actually looking up at you.
“Y/N?” He asks. You blink at him, coming out of your trace. You clear your throat and can feel your blush deepening.
“Uh, it was a long time ago,” you mumbled. Yeah, a long time ago that it started. You’d liked him since before he knew you existed.
“Oh,” he says. You look at him, thinking you heard disappointment. He just shrugs and leans back though so you convince yourself it was your imagination. You look away from him again as he starts speaking. “Uh, well the girl I like is my friend. So if I really can’t mess things up with her. I can handle her not liking me back, I think, but I don’t want her to cut me out.” You look at him again and let out a breath.
“What do you want me to tell you, Remus? I already told you. The girl would have to be blind and stupid to not like you,” you say. Then you raise an eyebrow at him. “Is she blind and stupid?”
He smirks a little and shakes his head. “No, she’s not. She’s actually got these gorgeous eyes that I’m kind of obsessed with,” he says. You try not to scowl at that. You really didn’t want to hear the boy you like go off on a tangent about the girl he likes.
“Really?” You ask with more of an edge than you would’ve liked. You look back down at your homework and pick up your quill.
“Yeah, and she’s really smart too. She’s probably one of the top girls in our year,” he says. You knit your brows together and glance at him. You knew everyone in your year. Who was he talking about? “She’s so funny too. She’s witty as hell, she doesn’t even have to think about it.”
“Sure you’re not talking about yourself, Rem?” You ask and force a small smile. He smiles back at you, completely beaming at this point. You chew on your bottom lip and look away from him again.
“Yeah. Did I mention that she’s gorgeous? I mean, her hair, her eyes, merlin, her lips?” He leans back in his chair practically sighing. You curl your own lips and refuse to look at him.
“Sounds perfect, Rem,” you say. You see him nod out of the corner of your eye. He leans forward again and taps your leg with his hand. You look at him and raise an eyebrow.
“Why would she have to be blind not to like me?” He raises an eyebrow but you can still see a bit of a smile on his lips. He’s egging you on. He’s just trying to make you blush again. You know it.
“What?”
“You said before she would have to be blind not to like me. That doesn’t make any sense.” You sigh and drop your quill turning fully to face him.
“Remus, come on. You know you’re handsome. If you don’t then perhaps, you’re blind,” you say and cross your arms. He raises an eyebrow at you, a smug smile slowly stretching across his face.
“What makes me so handsome then? Prove me blind,” he says. You raise an eyebrow and shake your head.
“That’s such a weird sentence.”
“Tell me. What exactly is so attractive about me?” He asks. You look at him for a second and pretend to study him for a while.
“Want a list?”
“I’d love one.”
“Okay…” you cross your eyes and rake your eyes over him slowly. You notice him shift in his seat and when you look back up you can see a small blush to match the smugness on his face. “There are a lot of small things that make a boy attractive,” you tell him. He leans forward, avidly listening. You smirk a little to yourself. “Some even sound a little weird.”
“Just tell me, Y/N,” he says. Your smirk grows a little and you straighten up, enjoying the time you have at having him look up at you instead of down.
“You know how to dress, unlike some other disasters that walk around here, as Mary likes to say.” Remus chuckles a little at that. “Also, a lot of people like that you’re tall, it definitely doesn’t hurt.” He raises an eyebrow at you. “I personally like your hair. It’s the perfect length. There is such a thing as to long or to short in my opinion,” you say. He gives you a questioning look and smirks a little at you. You force yourself not to squirm.
“You also have very pretty eyes,” you say. He straightens a little and gives you a confused look.
“You said you like guys with pretty eyes,” he says. You raise an eyebrow.
“Isn’t that the point of this conversation?” You ask. His eyes brush over your face and your stomach flips.
“Anything else, then?”
“Only about a million things,” you say, hoping you don’t sound to pathetic.
Remus meets your eyes again and stares at you for a second.
“Did I mention that this girl is one of my best friends?” He asks. You stare at him for a moment before processing what he said.
His best friends? Lily, Mary, Alice, Marlene, Dorcas, you’d even seen him talk to that Pandora girl a few times.
But he wouldn’t like Lily, those two were like siblings. Both had called the other a brother or sister countless times. And James was in love with her. Mary had a girlfriend. Alice was talking to that Frank boy. And Marlene and Dorcas were together! You didn’t know enough about that Pandora girl. But you knew she was friends with Sirius’ brother and those boys.
Who else was one of his best friends?
Me, you thought.
But no. No way. He came to you asking for advice on a girl. A different girl. Not to ask you advice about you. That… that… that’s exactly something Remus would do.
You blinked at him as your thoughts went haywire. He looked at you, seeming a little nervous.
“Remus… who are you talking about?” You ask, a part of you daring to be hopeful. He smiles a little at you, and you could tell he was still nervous.
“I thought I was being pretty obvious, gorgeous,” he says. The blush rises back up onto your cheeks as you stare at him.
“You-” You stop when Lily comes around the corner.
“Merlin, that took forever! I had to go and ask for help to find it!” She complains. She places the book down at her spot as Remus leans back in his seat. Lily notices him and gives him a fleeting smile. “Oh, hi, Remus.” Oh, sweet, oblivious Lily.
You still had a blush on your cheeks as she sat down. Remus cleared his throat and smiled at you.
“I’ll see you guys later, okay?” He says. Lily looks up for a second a little confused.
“Oh, okay,” she says before looking back into her book. Remus smiles at you and you realize you were still in shock.
“See you later, love,” he says. Then he walks away again like nothing happened. You were frozen before Lily clears her throat and raises an eyebrow.
“What is wrong with you?”
“I think Remus just told me he likes me,” you say. She blinks at you before grinning and practically jumping out of her seat to silently jump around.
“Yes, yes, yes!” She whisper yells. You stare at her. “I knew he’d cave eventually!”
“You knew?”
“Everyone knew, sweetheart,” she says. You blush and look down. “What did you say? What did he say? Did he ask you out? Wait why’d he leave?” You gesture to her seat and she finally sits back down.
“I didn’t really process it until right before you came back,” you admit. Then you proceed to tell her everything from when she left to when she came back.
“Oh, my timing sucks. Wait why are you still here? Haven’t you waited for this since like third year?” She asks. You press your lips together and nod. She gestures to you and your stuff splayed across the table. “Why are we here then? We need to go! Now!” She stands up and starts putting her things into her bag. You hurriedly match pace with her, a little nervous as she starts leading you out of the library.
“Lily, what are we-”
“Just come on! He’s probably in the common room!” She says. Your eyes widen as you realize what she means. She drags you up to the Gryffindor tower and quickly says the password to the portrait. She drags you in behind her and find Remus sitting with the other marauders around one of the fires. James spots you first.
“Hey, Evans!” He calls. Remus looks over next and spots you. You smile a little at him as Lily makes you stop next to her.
“Remus can I talk to you?” She asks. You knit your brows together and Remus just nods.
“Sure, what is it?” He asks, standing up. She just grabs your hand again and pulls you out into the corridor again. Remus follows, looking between the two of you. “Um, is everything alright?”
“It will be once this is all done and I don’t have to watch the two of you stare at each other all the time,” she says. You blink at her and cross your arms.
“Like you and James?” You ask. Her eyes widen and she waves her hands.
“I do not- oh this isn’t about that! I-” You cut her off, chuckling a little bit.
“Lils?” She raises an eyebrow. “I’m pretty sure we’ve got it from here,” you say. She glances between you and Remus before sighing and going back into the common room.
“What was that?” He asks, laughing a little. You smile at him a little before crossing your arms.
“Do you really like me?” You ask. His laughter quiets and his smile softens.
“Of course I do,” he says. A small smile plays at your lips. “I know you said you liked me a long time ago, so I get it if-”
“Rem!” You say. He looks at you, a little nervous. “I said that cause I didn’t want to make it weird. I do like you. I have liked you for a long time.” He stares at you for a second.
“Really?” You nod and he grins at you. “Will you go out with me on Saturday?” You laugh a little and nod.
“Yes. I’d love that,” you say. He grins and wraps his arms around your waist, hugging you and spinning you around. You laugh a little into his shoulder. “Rem!” He smiles and kisses your cheek as he puts you down.
“I’ve been waiting to ask that forever,” he says. You smile up at him.
“I’ve been waiting forever.”
“You could’ve asked me out,” he says. You cross your arms and raise an eyebrow at him. He smiles and lets out a breath.
“Okay, whatever.”
“Finally,” you hear behind Remus. You both look over to see Lily grinning,James slow clapping, Sirius had been the one to talk, and Peter was smiling with Lily.
“Idiots,” Remus says.
“We’re the idiots?”

remus lupin x reader. 2k words.
drunk behavior, drinking, smoking, marijuana, mentions of death, vaguely nsfw.
It was cold and wet out. It was usually cold and wet just outside of London, but especially tonight. All there was to be done was read and sit unmovingly still while the rain pattered against the windows agonizingly. Tonight, [Y/N] was immersed in the pages of a muggle novel a friend from home had mailed. An Issac Asimov novel. It was pretty dense. There was a stiff glass of whiskey on the coffee table next to a stack of magazines and some pamphlet she’d been handed on the street.
[Y/N] thoughts kept drifting away from the pages of her book to her plants outside. She would surely have to drain them well after this. What a pain. She had a sip of whiskey. Another sip was sure to follow. On the second sip, she thought about Remus Lupin.
Remus Lupin was beginning to become a problem.
Another thing [Y/N] had stationed on the coffee table was the telephone that few of her friends rung up on. Remus was one of them. And Remus had stopped calling. It wasn’t as if she were counting the days, but it surely had been near a month since Remus last called.
It wasn’t as if he had to call over either. He didn’t most summers they were growing up. But it was different now because the world was different now. It was courtesy to call so you knew who was still alive. His name and jagged, scraggly face hadn’t appeared in any obituaries. [Y/N] was sad to consider that these were the sort of days where you had to check the obituaries.
She wouldn’t have had to check the obituaries if he would call.
Maybe she had done something wrong that made Remus not want to call. There was no particular event she could remember. She couldn’t remember the last time she’s seen him so why recall the last interaction. She downed the rest of the glass of whiskey next to the phone on the coffee table and abandoned the book with it too. There was no focusing now. There was only the steady rain against the windows to serve as a metronome for listing off her own shortcomings.
Ultimately, it wasn’t as if Remus had to call because it wasn’t like he was hers, or something. He was a friend.
But didn’t friends call?
There was a particularly huge crack of thunder. [Y/N] was not a fan of that.
Then there was a pounding knock at the door. The kind of knock one hears before the SWAT team swings in through the windows in films. Every hair on her body stood up.
She thought about the obituaries.
[Y/N] procured her wand and attempted to walk silently towards the door (with a charmed chain and a deadbolt). She leaned into the peephole.
And then undid the chains and deadbolts in a flash.
“RJ?”
Sure enough, Remus John “RJ” Lupin looked back at her, bruised and scabbed more than he normally was.
“Hi. I have to tell you something.” He slurred.
With a wand still extended, [Y/N] still had something to do. “RJ, tell me the last time you called me.”
Remus’s big green eyes widened and rolled back as he tried to remember. The only thing he could think about was how he had promised to call.
But he hadn’t.
His wet hair hung around his eyes, under which bruises were beginning to form and swell. His eyes were clear as the eyes of an intoxicated man could be, though. Remus’s thick Welsh accent always got thicker when he was drinking and he muttered:
“I don’t know, [Y/N]. I last saw you three weeks ago. You smoked with me behind Three Broomsticks. But I’m thinking I was probably supposed to’ve called you at least a week ago, hm?”
[Y/N] lowered her wand. The Three Broomsticks. That was when she last saw the tall boy. How could she have forgotten? He’d leaned over and kissed her right on the mouth between puffs on a joint. And he’d said I’ll call you next week and we can go for drinks. If you’ll have me. “Alright, get in.” So much for memorable.
She grabbed Lupin by his jacket collar and pulled him in. He was a little unsteady on his feet. She helped the man discard his shabby wet coat to the coat rack beside the door. He’d once said it would be a useless purchase. Fuck him. “I thought you died,” she smirked. [Y/N] stepped back to look at him properly.
Aside from his old, alluring scars he hated so much, there was a black eye beginning to form, a split lip, and a handprint on his neck. That was just what was visible. Merlin…
“You look—“
“Ah, ah. You should see the other guy.”
She hit him hard on the arm. Remus winced with an ‘oi, watch it.’
“‘The bloody hell happened to you, RJ?”
There was a second of silence. “Uh. You did, sort of. But listen, I have to—.”
“Me?”
She had been assuming this was something he’d done to himself, out of his own control as always. But he wouldn’t normally show up on her doorstep after a full moon gone awry. She didn’t think it had even been a full moon.
“I mean. It was my fault. You didn’t do anything. I did. Obviously,” Remus sighed. “Jeez. Fuck me, do you mind if I smoke in ‘ere?”
“‘Course not,” [Y/N] moved toward the kitchen counter and pulled herself up on it. “You can have a smoke after you come over here and let me clean you off. Rem, really.”
Remus already had a cigarette halfway out of the pack and his shirt sleeves rolled up. He rolled his eyes, but left the pack on the counter as he limped over. Remus look like he hurt everywhere. The state of his sleeves revealed some unfortunate bruising on his knuckles and hands. His dirty boots lead him across the carpet to the tile of the flat kitchenette where [Y/N] sat. His eyes were ringed red, but his brow still seemed determined.
“So you got into a fight the muggle way with some bloke? You went to a muggle bar or something?”
Remus couldn’t meet [Y/N]’s eyes while she soaked a rag in warm tapwater and started cleaning off his cuts and nicks.
“I went to the Leaky Cauldron with James. We just wanted a few drinks. I promised I’d speak with him about… But I also wanted to ask him his opinion on… But, shit, see, I—“
“You smoke a lot tonight?”
“Yeah.”
“You can barely string a sentence together. You’re getting muck on my tile. You smell like pot.”
“Don’t pretend you don’t like it, sweetheart.” He took a step closer and pressed his thighs on the counter that separated them.
[Y/N] lowered the rag. This was more unusual still. Remus wasn’t a particularly direct person. And he didn’t do petnames. He only acted in a vaguely meaningful way when he was stoned. And when sunrise came, he would clam up and dodge phone calls again. Remus would be gone in a cloud of cigarette smoke before [Y/N] even woke up.
“What’s your problem, Remus,” she said. Remus raised an eyebrow. She only ever called him RJ, really. “You’re my best friend, you like me, you ignore me and then you show up at,” she glanced at her watch. “Almost one in the morning so I can patch you up because you got into a scuffle with some guy that doesn’t like Velvet Underground, or because Sirius needed backup. Or what. I can’t keep doing this.”
Remus sighed and put his hands on either side of her on the counter. He dropped the act as he leaned his battered body back and away from [Y/N]. “Remember Rosier?”
“Yeah, obviously.”
“He was at the Cauldron tonight. And I was talking about how the fuck I’m supposed to try to land you, and Rosier… He comes over to me and James. He wouldn’t shut up about you. Your looks, blood-status, your… body,” Remus lifted his gaze to meet [Y/N]’s. Carnal. “I couldn’t take it. I wanted to murder him.”
[Y/N] halved a smirk and lifted the rag to his face again. “I’m sure you did.” She said has he pushed her hand away.
“[Y/N], I’m not going to just sit there and let some posh tosser talk about the girl I’ve wanted since I was fifteen. I just… I felt like I blacked out and then Prongs was pulling me off and… And I walked here.”
“You’re crossed. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Would you fuckin’ listen to me!” Remus shouted. “Stop deflecting. I’m the one that deflects. Please. I’m tryna tell you that I met up with my childhood best mate because I wanted to ask him for some help. Because I’ve been trying to figure out how to take you out for years and I get too scared, or too stoned, or in my head or not enough. Whatever. Please. I’m talking too much.”
[Y/N] eyebrows furrowed with uncertainty. “Please what, RJ?”
“Please let me kiss you proper.”
“And then what?”
“I…”
[Y/N] sighed. Remus always put up this front of emotionlessness. Cool and breezy. He was the unreadable one in his miserable band of brothers in school and he still was. “I’m sorry, lemme just patch you up and you can take the floo.”
“No. Let me stay here. And let me keep coming back. And… and I dunno, let me take care of you. Take you to the cinema. And buy you tickets to the Spinning Goblins show you were talking about. Listen to you complain about that asshole from the shop. Oh, and go to work parties with you. And, like, share an ashtray with you. All the normal stuff. I’ve wanted that since I was a kid. Don’t make me wait any longer. It’s my own fault I’ve waited so long. If you’ll have me.”
“Will you be here when I wake up? Or are you just gonna keep dodging me?”
Remus blinked. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“Then kiss me proper.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” [Y/N] rolled her eyes and grabbed Remus’s shirt collar that peered out from underneath his jumper and pulled his lips onto her own. He was damp and tasted strongly of cigarettes, marijuana and the pints and firewhiskey he’d downed. But the smell of his shampoo and parchment lingered. He always smelled of old parchment and his fingers were always stained with ink. [Y/N] had always wondered what he was writing all the time.
Those same bruised and ink-stained fingers came around the back of [Y/N] neck to tangle in her hair, holding her impossibly tighter. Remus’s grip was vice-like and permanent. His mouth was pressed against hers so completely that they would be one person if he were any closer. He wanted to prove how badly he wanted this and that he wasn’t going anywhere.
“‘Want you.” He muttered against the lips that were growing to be as bruised as his.
“Why, Mr. Lupin...”
Remus kissed down her neck desperately slow. “No, shut it. Not even like… I just… want you. All of you,” he murmured between kisses. “I want you to be mine. Or the other way ‘round. For real.”
[Y/N] let out a moan as his lips met her collarbone. Her fingers slid down his spine. “Yes. Yes. Yes.”
“Yes?”
“Yes. You want me to say it again?”
“Yes.” She felt the word vibrate against her chest.
“YES.”
“Thank fuck for that.”
As Remus kissed his way across the plane of her chest back to her mouth, she stopped him before one last kiss. “Come on, dry clothes and a smoke. Then bed. We’ve got a long day tomorrow?”
“That so?”
[Y/N] laughed. Merlin, he loved that sound. Clear as church bells with a gentle wheeze. “Yes.”
“What’s on the agenda?” He smiled dumbly.
“Making up for lost time, stupid… Just… Say yes.”

masterlist
"girls like me don't come around that much."
———————————
Y/N Lykos hadn't been born werewolf. That much was obvious. But she wasn't bitten at an awfully young age, either; she was bitten when she was sixteen years old, in the Summer holidays between her fifth and sixth years. It was a shame really, because the event had occurred during what was supposed to be a pleasant holiday to the very North of Canada, to visit family. Her distant cousins who attended Ilvermorny had warned her about there being a couple wild werewolves in the nearby forest. If only she had listened.
A midnight walk wasn't such a bad idea, right? Just a little time to escape the stress of family gatherings, and ease the mind. Y/N really should have thought more logically than to take the forest path, especially considering her high grades and therefore intelligent brain. But, alas, she did not, and wandered down the snow-laden track with the ice crunching beneath her feet. It was eery, as aside from her cold shallow breaths, her footsteps were all she could hear. Everything was quiet. Too quiet.
Eventually, instinct got the better of her, so she turned tail to begin power-walking back to her Canadian family's hidden castle. They were wealthy family members; of course, Y/N didn't have nearly the same luxury, but she wasn't fighting for money back home, either.
In the turn of a second the silence turned to the sound of twigs and rustling of leaves from the trees just beyond the path. 'It's just the wind,' Y/N thought to herself. The memory of her cousins telling her about the werewolves suddenly hurried back, making her anxiously glance up to the night sky to check and try and feel some comfort. But, there it was in all its glory: the shiny full moon. Y/N felt her breath become shaky, shivers not just from the cold shooting up her spine.
A growl.
That was unmistakably a growl.
Maybe things would have turned out differently if she hadn't frozen in fear.
White fur flashed in the corner of her eye. And then the other corner after the feeling of a swoosh behind her. It was then Y/N's eyes locked on to shimmery blue ones, except they weren't pleasant shimmery. They were glaring into her very soul as if she was just a piece of meat. Which, in all fairness, was probably exactly what she was to it. All she could do was watch as it raised its claw, most likely to take a fatal blow to her, but was cut short by another white furry monster pummelling into Y/N's side and sinking its teeth into her thigh. She yelped in pain, and momentarily accepted fate, when she saw the first werewolf attack the second.
The pair began taking part in a deadly brawl, so Y/N took the opportunity to pull out her wand and send up a massive red flare spark, now the pain had brought her back to her senses. She knew doing any more magic than that could get her in trouble, so instead began limping away with her hands providing some sort of pressure to the wound. It was pure agony, and tears streamed from her eyes while she gained little to no ground.
She must have passed out and been found before the werewolves could cause any more damage, because she had woken up back in the room she had been staying in. The bite on her thigh had been healed over, but a scar that would remain forever was still settled there.
For a solid month after that, everyone had kept an eye on Y/N but wouldn't tell her why. She wasn't dumb, and had figured it out after researching werewolves. There was a good chance that she was a werewolf. In fact, there was a very slim chance she wasn't. Every single recorded werewolf bite case had resulted in the victim becoming a werewolf.
And, sure enough, she transformed on the full moon a couple days before sixth year, during which she accidentally injured her parents. They had contacted Dumbledore on the matter, and he told her he would discuss it in person with her when she was back at school.
Needless to say, Y/N was petrified of the damage she could cause, and the rest of her life as a fucking monster.
***
Y/N was punctual as always with getting on to the Hogwarts Express, meeting her best friend, Lily Evans, in one of the cabins.
"Hey, how were your holidays?" the red-head asked.
"Good," Y/N lied, "How were yours?"
"Great!" Lily's emerald eyes sparkled, "Sev and I spent a lot of time together down by the lake."
The train got going in short time, which was, of course, when the infamous Marauders decided to show up, led by James Potter who came to confess his undying love for Lily yet again. Except, when they all entered one by one with Peter coming in last, Y/N couldn't help but notice something different. Remus smelled good. Like, really fucking good.
His almond-coloured eyes pinned on to her as she stared up at him expectantly. She noticed as his nostrils shifted, as if he were sniffing something. Plus, the atmosphere between them had changed completely: before, it was normal, a sense of mild friendship during their brief encounters. Now, there was an unprecedented tension that couldn't be described.
"So, my Lily-flower, how is life treating you?"
"Bugger off, Potter," the red-head snapped.
"Hey, Y/N," Remus greeted, taking a seat beside her without thinking about it, "What did you do over Summer?"
"I- I went to visit my relatives in Canada," she said with a small smile, but all she could focus on was Remus' voice. Rowena, had it always been that deep and attractive?
"Right, come on, Moony. Evans has kicked us out," Sirius said, pulling Remus by the roughs of his collar. The lanky boy gave one more lingering glance to Y/N, before letting himself be pulled out by his friends.
Lily sighed at her, "Be careful, hun, everyone knows Lupin can be just as bad as the rest of them, despite his 'goody two-shoes' reputation."
"Yeah- I know. Did he always smell amazing?"
"Hm? What d'you mean?"
"Do you think he got a new cologne over the holidays?"
"I don't know."
"And his voice! Has he always sounded like that?"
"Godric, Y/N, are you feeling alright?" Lily pressed her hand to Y/N's forehead, "You actually find a Marauder attractive?"
She scoffed, "Don't act like you don't secretly return Potter's feelings," which made Lily's face match her hair colour.
***
"The password is... violet beans?" Y/N frowned, looking up at the statue curiously. Sure enough, it turned around, opening up a staircase that began moving upwards. She hopped on to it, allowing herself to be taken to the top without any required effort. An oakwood door was before her, so she tapped twice.
"Come in, Miss Lykos."
Y/N opened the door, to walk into the large and beautiful headmaster's office. She stared in awe around the room, as it was her first time having ever being allowed into that secluded part of the castle.
"I believe you are aware of what I have called you here to talk about."
"Yes, professor."
"Right, well, this isn't my first time taking care of a student such as yourself. By the way, I'm terribly sorry about the accident."
"It's- it's alright, professor."
"I have arranged for a secluded locked cellar just several metres into the Forbidden Forest that you can lock before transformation. The mind of a werewolf will not have the capacity to figure out the lock on it." Dumbledore gave her the directions. "Do you think that'll be alright?"
Y/N nodded, "Yes, thank you. I'm sorry for being an inconvenience."
"Oh no, never. You're only an inconvenience if you purposely try to bother me."
"Right, if that's all, goodbye, professor."
"Yes. Have fun settling back into Hogwarts."
Meeting with Lily back in the Great Hall for dinner, Y/N took a seat at the Gryffindor table since no one ever paid any mind to her being there. It's not like she was a Slytherin, after all. "Where've you been?" she asked.
"Oh, Dumbledore wanted to talk to me," she shrugged.
"How come?"
"I'm not too sure, I wasn't paying attention," she said. Lying was something she was quickly getting used to, and while Lily narrowed her eyes at her, she didn't comment further.
"I had my first potions lesson today," the redhead began, "Slughorn gave me constant praise for my amazing potion."
"And that's bad because?"
"It gets a little annoying, and I know it'll just make it hurt more if I fail."
Y/N nodded knowingly, "I had muggle studies and transfiguration today."
"I don't know why you even took muggle studies," Lily scoffed, "Your dad's literally a muggle."
"I like to see it from a wizard's perspective."
"I suppose... hey, have you seen Potter?"
"Why? Gonna confess your love for him?"
Lily slapped her arm gently, "No, he just hasn't pestered me all day... which means he's up to something."
"I'm here, my Lily-flower!" an all-too familiar voice called out, "Did you miss me?"
"In your sweet dreams, Potter."
"Ah, Lykos, darling, how are things going?" Sirius said, surprising her as she hadn't realised he had sat down right next to her.
"Fuck off, Black."
"Harsh."
James laughed, "Come on, Padfoot, Lykos' even more stubborn than Evans. You don't stand a chance."
"Shut up, Prongs."
Unfortunately, Remus was nowhere in sight.
***
If only Y/N had elected to bring her wand to the library with her, she wouldn't be in the dilemma she was currently: attempting to obtain a book on magic history from a significantly higher shelf than her. She had jumped a couple times, but had now paused to glare at the spine of the book as if that would inspire it to cooperate. It's a shame the library magic only worked when putting books back. That was when a familiar intoxicating scent wafted up her nostrils, followed by the presence of someone tall behind her, and then a tanned and scarred hand reaching for the book she had almost declared war on.
"You need this?" Remus' voice said softly, making Y/N turn around and flush. She nodded, nervously holding out a hand to take the book. "You really are short, huh?" he commented.
"You're just freakishly tall," she mumbled, but he heard easily and chuckled.
"You know we're in a magic school, right? You coulda just- ya know."
"I left my wand in my dorm."
Remus raised an eyebrow at her, finally handing over the book but still following her over to the table she had set up camp on.
"What do you want, Lupin?" Y/N asked, but didn't really care for the answer. He was there and that was all that was required for her heart to flutter.
"Nothing," he shrugged, taking a seat.
Y/N began reading a book as did Remus, who had picked a random one off the table. Of course, with her mind being distracted by the words on the page, she was no longer actively suppressing her instinct to shift closer to Remus on the sofa they were sharing. He had leant back against the backrest, while she was hunched over the table trying to ignore his intoxicating scent. Thankfully, when she had already subconsciously shifted a few millimetres, the sound of someone biting down on something hard made her head snap in the direction of the noise. Remus.
And he had chocolate.
He arched an eyebrow at her, knowing that she was eyeing the delicious chocolatey treat in his hand. "I don't share chocolate," he said, "Everyone knows that."
"I know-"
"But-" he cut her off, smirking a little, "-maybe I can make an exception." He snapped off a couple squares and handed them to her.
Merlin, when would this boy mature? But, hey, at least he was sharing his delicious snacks.
"Thank you," Y/N said with an extra sweet smile, accepting the chocolate and biting into it, "Shit, this is good."
"You never had Panselinos Chocolate before?"
She shook her head, "My mum always buys me the mainstream stuff."
"Yeah, but normally only a certain type of people like this chocolate."
***
"Fuck, Y/N, you alright?" Lily asked, jumping back after her arm brushed against her best friend's.
"What d'you mean?" Y/N replied, trying not to let her teeth chatter.
The redhead sighed, "You're in a DADA classroom with a roaring fire right there and you're freezing your tits off- hell, you're freezing my tits off! Seriously, are you okay?"
"Yeah, 'm fine. Just a little cold."
"Not only are you freezing up, but Lupin over there is burning up, and he's the furthest away from the fire- look at how he's sweating! He gets a fever every month, I swear."
Y/N glanced across the room at the lanky boy, just as he turned to look at her with her arms wrapped around her body in an attempt to retain any amount of body heat.
"Oh, Godric, he's looking at you!" Lily whispered.
"For a genius witch you are a bit of a Captain Obvious."
Just as soon as Remus had looked, he had looked away, and resumed with the assigned task. Y/N did the same, but not before taking a minute to squat dangerously close to the fire in a desperate attempt to warm up. She knew what symptoms she was experiencing: it was the first full moon of the school year that night.
Dinner was quite a stressful time, and Y/N kept glancing up at the magic Great Hall ceiling to check it wasn't dark yet. She was tapping the table in anticipation and had hardly touched the scrambled eggs she had reluctantly scooped on to her plate. The sickening feeling in her stomach prevented her from consuming any delicacy, other than the expected craving of very raw meat. Anxiously, she watched as the sky gradually turned to a pinky-orange, and decided that that was her cue to leave. Y/N lied to Lily and told her that she didn't feel well and was going to the infirmary. A special thanks to James Potter for flirting with Lily and therefore preventing her from offering to come as well.
Entering the gloomy Forbidden Forest was less nerve-wracking than Y/N had anticipated. But maybe that was because part of her felt as if she belonged there; after all, she was a monster too. The trap door was in the exact spot Dumbledore had said it was, and had a weird magical lock that she managed to work out quickly: she wasn't a Ravenclaw for nothing.
There was a provided safe for when she had stripped herself of her clothing and wand to lock them away safely overnight, and according to Dumbledore, the room was soundproof, so no one would hear her outrageous howls.
***
Madam Nosokoma, the school nurse, tapped gently on the trapdoor the next day, under which Y/N was lying exhausted, wounded and nude on the floor. She forced herself upwards to pull on a jumper and some shorts, before grabbing her wand and opening the door. "Hey, honey, how're you feeling?" she smiled.
"Tired," Y/N sighed, climbing up the ladder with all the energy she had left. Nosokoma supported her weight as she limped back up to the castle; the pink touch of sunrise brushing against the hints of blue in the sky. Just as she was helped through the doors of the infirmary, she laid her eyes on three of the Marauders crowding round an injured Remus on a hospital bed. They all turned to look at her, their eyes widening in shock at the bleeding scars littered all over her revealed legs, and the blood seeping through the woollen jumper.
Y/N didn't have the energy to acknowledge them all that much, but she was somewhat confused. Remus had always disappeared once a month, granted, but she had never paid much mind to it since they weren't close. Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined he was getting injured. Almost like he was a werewolf.
The suspicions settled in Y/N's mind.
"Lykos, what are you doing here?" James asked, but all Y/N could give him was faint smile as Nosokoma began magically patching up her wounds. In fact, she had passed out by the time the bandages were done.
"Is she alright?" Sirius turned to Madam Nosokoma, sparing a glance to his bed-ridden friend of whom was also nearly passed out.
"She'll be fine, she's just had a rough night."
Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs exchanged glances, before looking at Moony to see he was fully out cold.
***
Remus woke up a couple hours later, as he was able to recover relatively quickly since he was so experienced. He laid his eyes on the bandaged sleeping girl a couple beds down from him, and the worst case scenario popped into his head. Had he hurt her? What if he had bitten her? Nosokoma was nowhere in sight, so he cautiously and painfully forced himself out of his bed to stand by Y/N's. Out of nowhere, Nosokoma appeared behind him, gazing down at the sleeping girl as well.
"Did- did I do this?" Remus asked, worry filling his glistening chocolate irises.
"No, Remus, you didn't," the nurse sighed.
He looked slightly relieved, but still confused, "Then what did?"
"That's not my secret to share."
"Okay..."
"Anyway, now you're up, you need to take the healing medicine, so we can get you back to class as soon as possible."
Remus was gone by the time Y/N was awake.
***
"Merlin, Y/N, where have you been?" Lily cried, practically throwing herself on to Y/N. It would have hurt if the wounds hadn't been magically healed over, the only remnants being the scars littered across her skin, that were covered by her chosen baggy school jumper.
"Oh... just the infirmary... I was feeling sick, remember?" she shrugged, taking a seat at the Gryffindor table.
"Yeah, if you define feeling sick as being covered in wounds and blood," Sirius, who was just a little way down the table, scoffed.
Y/N glared at him.
"You what?"
"I'll tell you later, okay? Not here," she replied. She knew she should tell Lily, her best friend, and also that she could trust her with such a hefty secret.
Lily narrowed her eyes, "Yeah... okay..."
***
"You're a- you're a werewolf?"
"Yes, an arctic werewolf- and you don't have to make it sound like an awful thing! I feel shit enough about it as it is."
"Right, sorry, it's just sudden information. Did you say you got bitten while you were in Canada?"
Y/N nodded, sitting down on the grass by the Black Lake and pulling her hands down her face. The Autumn breeze was nipping at her cheeks, but she was too stressed to think about the coldness in her bones.
"Hey, I'm- I'm so sorry you have to go through this..." Lily said, her green eyes laced with concern, "Is there- is there anything I can do to make it easier? Does- does it hurt?"
"I don't know, Lils... and, I mean, it's agony at first but then I black out and don't become conscious again til morning..."
"Animagus!"
"Hm?"
"Animagus," Lily repeated, "What if I became an animagus? My patronus is a doe, which is fairly large, and werewolves only crave human blood. I could help you while you're transformed-"
"I don't wanna put you in danger."
"I don't care, Y/N, you're my best friend! I'd do anything for you."
"Becoming an animagus is difficult."
"I'm sure I'll manage," Lily grinned, "I'm actually quite excited thinking about it- obviously it'll be illegal... I'll just keep it a secret til I graduate when I'll register myself..."
"You're planning a lot from such a brashly made decision."
"Eh, I've been wanting to become an animagus for a while. Now I have a decent excuse."
"Rowena, what would I do without you?" Y/N chuckled.
***
"I think I've finally mastered talking with this mandrake leaf in my mouth," Lily said, sucking on her tongue, "Thankfully the awful taste has disappeared now."
"I can't believe you've had that thing in your mouth all week. How do you eat? How do you sleep without choking?"
Lily shrugged, "I made a potion that I take before bed. It stops anything from going down my throat, other than air, of course. And eating isn't too hard if I push the leaf to the side."
"Ah, my dear Lily-flower, Lykos!" the voice of James called, making the girls turn to see three boys behind him. The Marauders.
"Great. Here's trouble," Y/N muttered. But, she had to admit, seeing Remus did make her go warm and fuzzy inside. The boys joined them in their position in the secluded corner of the library, which really begged the question of how the fuck did they find them?
-two minutes prior-
"Where is Lily?" James whined, trailing behind Sirius as they entered the library to find Remus.
"Maybe you should stop bothering her," Peter mumbled, silently walking behind James.
"There's Moony," Sirius grinned, ignoring the previous topic.
James immediately asked the wolf boy, "Do you know where Lily-flower is?"
"Probably with Y/N."
"Do you know where Y/N is?" James' eyes lit up hopefully, "You've taken a huge interest in her lately!"
Remus looked up from his book, before rolling his eyes, and scrunching his nostrils in a sniff. "Come on," he said, standing up to lead them between the aisles of the library.
"How much of a stalker do you have to be to recognise Lykos' scent?" Sirius laughed.
"Her scent is very distinct." They rounded a corner. "Here they are."
-present-
"Hello, Y/N," Remus smiled, sitting beside her.
"Lupin," she greeted.
"Godric, can't you just call me Remus?" he said. Y/N could tell it had come out unexpectedly, as he normally was quite reserved and much less straightforward around girls.
"O- Okay, Remus..."
He grinned.
Y/N glanced at the book he had carried all the way over, "What's that you're reading?"
"Oh, nothing-" he said, rereading the title of Werewolves: The Concept of Mating. She read the title for the first time herself, and looked back up at him to lock eyes.
"Can I- can I have a look?"
"Oh- uh- yeah... but I'm- I'm not finished reading it..." Remus handed her the book.
She flicked through the pages, skimming over each page until she found one that read Signs of Mating. Y/N paused, and cautiously began to read the bullet points that followed while Remus watched her.
• A mate's scent will be intoxicating and addictive to a werewolf. • The feeling of kissing a mate for the first time will send the mind to euphoria. • Werewolf mates can calm each other down during a full moon. • Something as simple as a mate's touch will instantly be calming. • In rare cases where a regular werewolf mates with an arctic werewolf, the difference in temperatures during the full moon phase will reach an equilibrium when they touch.
"I didn't know arctic werewolves existed," Remus said nonchalantly, "I've always found werewolves interesting."
"Yeah... interesting..."
He looked her up and down, not in a sexual way, but as if he were judging her character. "Why were you in the infirmary last week?"
"I just- I just took a fall," Y/N said, "Why were you in the infirmary?"
"Same as you," he said slowly, leaning closer, "I just took a fall."
"Come on, Flirty Moony," James called, evidently finished flirting with Lily for the time being, "We're off."
"Goodbye, Y/N."
"B- Bye, Remus."
When the Marauders had disappeared, Lily turned to Y/N with a mischievous look in her eyes, clearly suspicious of her and Remus. "So... what's with you and Lupin then?"
"Nothing."
"Yeah, that's what they all say."
"Okay, fine. Is it just me but is he really hot? Like really fucking hot?"
"I mean he's cute, yeah, but, Godric... has being a werewolf made your hormones rage or something?"
Remus hadn't taken the book back, and at Lily's statement Y/N couldn't help but glance down at the page she still had open in thought.
"What is it?"
Y/N handed the book over; she closely examined Lily's face while she read over the bullet points.
"You don't- you don't think...?"
"He's always disappeared once a month... he's covered in scars... he was reading that book... and he kept talking to me as if he knew..."
"Now that I think about it... it does make a lot of sense," Lily pondered, "In fact... it seems unlikely that he isn't a werewolf. But, wait... are you implying you think he's your mate?"
"...Yes?"
***
The tension between Remus Lupin and Y/N Lykos truly was something else: they would look at each other and feel their collective breaths hitch, and their hands would brush against each other and they would melt. Y/N didn't exactly know how to start a werewolf conversation, so left it, but, of course, the next full moon came around. It was the evening of the day of the full moon, and Y/N could feel her body freezing over. Lily had gotten too concerned and dragged her into the Gryffindor common room. McGonagall hadn't said anything as she was aware of Y/N's current condition.
Lily tried her best to wrap her best friend up in jumpers, blankets and with a hot chocolate by the fire, but Y/N was still shivering uncontrollably. She was showing no signs of warming up whatsoever. "It's- it's get-ting worse..." she chattered, curling into an even tighter ball, "I'm so- so c- cold."
The redhead looked around distressingly, until she remembered what she saw in the werewolf book about mates. If Remus was indeed a werewolf and also Y/N's mate, he would be able to equalise their temperatures. The Marauders were messing around at the other end of the common room, and Lily couldn't help but notice how Remus was practically passed out on the sofa, sweat droplets on his forehead. He was covered in ice packs, but they clearly weren't doing anything. "Y/N, I've got a better idea."
"What?"
Lily took the hot chocolate out of Y/N's hand and pulled her out from underneath the layers, dragging her all the way over to the boys while trying to ignore the fact her hand was freezing up. "Oh! My Lily-flower came to me!" James gasped.
"Shut up, Potter," she snapped, turning to Remus, "What's up with Lupin?"
"He's got a fever," Sirius said.
"Bullshit," Lily muttered, making all the boys' eyes snap towards her, including Remus'. She placed the hot chocolate on the table, and forcefully pushed Y/N to fall on to Remus' lap. If she hadn't been so cold, she would probably have blushed.
"Oh my Godric, you are literally a block of ice," Remus' eyes widened. He had never felt relief from his hot spells before.
"And you are so fucking hot," Y/N muttered, but immediately cringed at her choice of words. All the words to use for 'warm', and she chose the one with sexual connotations?
Thankfully, he said nothing on the matter, as he was too focused on the temperature relief he was finally feeling. Y/N glanced up in shock when she felt Remus' warm calloused hands cup her cheeks, but he wasn't looking at her. His eyes were closed and his head was resting on the back of the settee. She let out a small breath, feeling her blood warm up, which allowed a blush to rise to her cheeks. In a split second rushed decision, Y/N buried her face into Remus' chest, causing him to react by tightly securing her in his arms.
"Well then," James said, "Does this mean you will be hanging around with us more, future Mrs Potter?"
Lily glared at him, "In your sweet dreams."
"Is Lykos alright?" Sirius asked, seemingly more curious than concerned, "She looked like she'd just trekked through the Arctic."
"She's just got the shivers."
"Bullshit. What is it really, Lykos?" Sirius turned to look at the girl curled up on Remus' lap. Unfortunately, she couldn't respond, because she was fast asleep on top of the only source of warmth she required. Remus appeared to have drifted off as well.
***
"The sun's setting," James suddenly said, shaking his sleeping friend with a sense of panic.
"So?" Lily said calmly, trying to hide the fact she was worried that Y/N needed to get outside.
"So, we've got... plans..." Potter continued, managing to wake up both of the werewolves, "Moony, come on, it's almost dark."
"Shit," the boy cursed, carefully pushing a yawning Y/N off of him, "Sorry, I have to go."
Y/N's eyes snapped open as she finally registered what the others were saying. She, too, muttered a, "Shit," and jumped off the sofa to run over to the portrait hole. Lily didn't follow, since she wasn't yet an animagus, but the boys ran after her for a reason she was too worried to think about.
Once out the castle, Y/N sprinted down the grassy slope, nearly tripping on the way, to enter the Forbidden Forest. The Marauders watched from the top of the hill as she ran, piecing together what was happening. "You don't- you don't think she's...?" James trailed off.
"Yeah... Yeah, I think she is," Remus replied, "Anyway, we'll worry about that tomorrow."
They all nodded, before sprinting over to the Walloping Willow.
***
Madam Nosokoma came to collect Y/N earlier than she did the previous full moon, and as they walked up the hill, the boys were also supporting a wounded Remus on the way to the castle. "R- Remus..." she murmured, before passing out entirely due to blood loss and exhaustion.
The infirmary time went pretty much like the previous one, but what came after was different. Both of them were pretty sure that the other was a werewolf, but how exactly does one start up such a conversation? They weren't close enough to justify telling the other they were a werewolf for the sole reason of trusting them, and it's a little too insensitive to just ask 'hey, are you a werewolf?'.
And, so, the following month consisted of intense avoidance between both the Marauders and Y/N, since there were things that had to be said that couldn't be said. But, in more positive news, Lily successfully became a doe animagus, and was clearly ecstatic at her new ability. "I can help you now!" she had beamed.
Until, it was, again, the evening of the full moon, and Remus cornered Y/N in the library while visibly sweating. "Remus..." she mumbled, trying to suppress a shiver, "What-" she gulped, "-what do you want?"
"Come with me," he said, holding out his hand. Y/N glanced at the darkening sky outside, but still apprehensively accepted his offer, which allowed Remus to drag her out of the library. He dragged her all the way out of the castle, until they were outside standing on the grass.
"Remus- I- I have somewhere I need to be-" she said, watching the last bit of sun fall under the horizon.
"So do I," he said, tightening his grip on her hand, "What are you? Scared of the dark?"
"N- No-" she whispered, witnessing in pure horror as the white sphere peeked over into the pool of white-speckled navy blue.
"Y/N!" Lily's voice called from behind, followed by her grabbing Y/N's wrist and pulling her away from the boy, to drag her down to the Forbidden Forest in a sprint. The Marauders appeared behind Remus, and he spared them a glance paired with a frown, before sprinting after them. His friends followed suit.
There wasn't time to climb down into the cellar. The moon had risen quickly, and was shining down in all it's glory on to Y/N, who yelled, "Lily! Get back!" before collapsing on the ground in pain as she felt her bones crack and move.
The redhead quickly morphed into a doe, just as the Marauders arrived, with Remus falling on to the ground as well. James morphed into a stag, Sirius morphed into a black dog, and Peter morphed into a rat. Lily looked at them in shock, but most prominently at James who was a stag. She was a doe; he was a stag. She was torn from her thoughts at the sound of a growl from an arctic werewolf figure beside her, who was quite small but still deadly. Lily turned to what Y/N was glaring at, to see a larger brown werewolf, Remus, growling back at her.
Out of caution, she silently crept over to the other animagi, positioning herself beside the stag that was James. The werewolves let their front paws touch the ground as they growled more deeply at the other, ever so slowly edging closer and closer. Until, Remus suddenly stopped, and tilted his head as he sniffed the air. Y/N continued to growl, but didn't attack as he proceeded to approach her and lick her nose. That made her stop growling, and she backed up with a small whimper.
Remus barked, and began panting like a happy dog, making Y/N tilt her head. He got into a playful panting position, but snapped out of it when Sirius dared to come any closer. He growled at the dog, guarding Y/N behind him protectively. Lily decided to step forward, since she wasn't a canine and also a girl, so the chances were that Remus wouldn't see her as a threat. He didn't react to her, which allowed for her to approach her werewolf friend and rub her head affectionately against her.
The night was both the weirdest and easiest full moon any of them had ever experienced.
***
Y/N woke up with a start at the foot of a tree by the Black Lake, curled up in Remus' arms - something she did not expect. She gave a brief scan of her body, and was surprised (but relieved) to see that there were no new scars littering her skin. Remus was in the same situation. Their friends had evidently gone through the effort of getting more clothes for them, and draped them over their sleeping bodies so as to avoid public nudity.
She felt him stir next to her as she scanned the surrounding area and saw Lily asleep with her head on a sleeping James' shoulder, and Sirius and Peter also in physical contact with each other as they slept. The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon and the temperature was warm but breezy.
Y/N could truly say that she felt peaceful in that moment.
"Good morning," Remus spoke gently, rubbing his nose against Y/N's cheek.
"Morning," she replied, watching as he looked his body up and down for scars.
"Nothing?" he said in surprise.
Y/N nodded, "Nothing."
Remus's face stretched into the largest grin she had ever seen bestowed upon his face. His calloused hand soon touched her cheek and tilted her head towards him, allowing him a decent angle to conjoin their lips in a chaste kiss. Y/N's mind had never been filled with so much warmth and butterflies before that moment, and for the first time in his life Remus felt like he truly belonged.
They eventually pulled away when they heard movement from a couple of their friends around them. Sirius was waking up, and yawned as he sat up and groggily looked upon Y/N and Remus. He remained sleepy for a few seconds, before a sudden realisation appeared to shock him fully awake.
"Moony - you're not injured!"
Remus' face split into another grin.
"Merlin, did we actually get some sleep last night?"
His loud voice awoke the others sleeping underneath the trees.
"What time is it?" Lily asked, clearly not yet having registered she was asleep on James' shoulder.
"The sun's still rising, so around seven, I guess," Y/N replied.
"Lykos," Peter spoke for the first time that morning, "You're a- you're a... you're just like Remus."
"A big surprise... but not an unwelcome one if it keeps Moony calm on full moons," Sirius added, and it was only then James' eyes opened.
He gaged his surroundings, doing a double take when he noticed Lily still half-asleep on his shoulder: his gaze on her made her finally realise her position, and she shot up instantly, her face bright red.
Deciding against saying something to her, he looked towards Y/N, and said, "I mean, I guess Moony isn't the only Moony now."
A penny dropped in Y/N's head, and she couldn't believe that she hadn't made the connection before that moment. "Your nicknames are your animagi!"
"Took you long enough, Lykos," James said, making her glare at him.
"Believe it or not, Potter, I don't spend every waking moment analysing your lives."
"Except Moony's," Sirius added.
"We should head back up," Lily finally spoke, "Before too many people are awake."
Everyone agreed, and after Y/N and Remus had awkwardly pulled back on clothes, began tiredly standing up to trek up the grassy slopes to the castle.
"I can't believe it. This is the first time since I was turned that I haven't needed medical care after a full moon," Remus said to Y/N as they took the back of the group on the walk.
She beamed at him, "Well, it's only been a couple months for me, but I can still appreciate how nice this is."
"It happened over the summer?"
Y/N nodded, "While I was in Canada. I'm an arctic werewolf, if you hadn't figured that out."
"I had," he reached his hand out to grab hers, "I'm just so- so relieved. I've felt like a monster all these years because there's never been a way to calm me down while I'm turned, and I've been so so scared of hurting people."
She glanced up at him, to see him staring ahead at the grass.
"I haven't felt this peaceful and just- human- in so long."
"I don't think we're humans, Remus."
He chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, I know. But I feel like I have more control over myself now, which makes me feel more human."
"My life has changed so quickly in these last months."
"Mine too. I've been feeling more and more like a monster everyday-"
"Well, if you're a monster, then I'm a monster."
"You could never be a monster, Y/N," he said gently.
She scoffed, "Hypocrite."
"Let me finish what I was saying - I've been feeling more and more like a monster everyday... until now."
He gave her the warmest smile, paired with the kindest eyes she had ever seen.
"Well, I guess we can't ever be away from each other now - at least on full moons," she said.
"I think we're gonna be close to each other a lot more than once a month, love."
"What- what do you mean by that?" She watched with widened eyes as Remus began laughing.
"You know exactly what I mean," he winked, before breaking into a sprint up the hill.
"Moony, get back here!" she yelled after him, beginning to run as well.
Soon, all the others of James, Sirius, Lily and Peter began running as well, yelling questions of why they were running, but laughing all the same.
And just like that, the new exciting years of friendship, self-confidence, and love began for them all, but especially Remus and Y/N.

afternoon confessions
pairings: remus lupin x reader
warnings: just some fluffy fluff
Tumblr media
It was another lazy Sunday afternoon at Hogwarts. You sat near the lake, under a nice shady tree, rereading Pride and Prejudice. It was nice and peaceful, as the soft breeze blew through your hair.
“Hello, love.” you heard a soft voice behind you. Youn turned to find your boyfriend, Remus.
“Hi, darling” you smiled, patting the grass next to you, gesturing him to sit down.
Last night had been a full moon, which you can tell from the new gash on his face. You had watched from your dorm window as Sirius and James’ shadowy figures led Remus into the woods, far from others. You had begged to go with them, but they refused knowing that if Remus hurt you, he would never forgive himself.
Remus set himself down beside you, making himself comfortable by resting his head on your shoulder.
You pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead, “How are you feeling?” you ask.
“Tired” he sighed, dropping his head on your shoulder.
He looked at you with his pretty chocolate brown eyes, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek.
“Read to me?”
“Of course,” you said smiling
You sat there together for the rest of the afternoon, enjoying the quiet and the peace that being together brought.
Remus fell asleep in your lap as you stroked his hair gently. You leaned down to press a soft kiss, just below his ear.
His eyes fluttered open, staring up at you as he brought a hand to your cheek.
“I love you” he whispered, quite and unsure of your reaction.
“I love you too, Remmy” you whispered back, giving him a small smile.
He pressed his lips to yours and in that moment, nothing else mattered because you were with your Remmy.
a/n: here's a baby oneshot that no one asked for. young remus lupin has consumed me.

Things you do for love
Tumblr media
Pairing - Young Remus Lupin x reader
Word count - 2,122
Warnings - lil' bit of angst, fluff
Summary - you become an animagus to keep Remus company during full moons without his knowledge
A/N -hey y'all! Since my last Remus fic did pretty well I figured I'd dip my toes back into the Marauders and write a new fic for my beloved Remus. This is a repost as my last post didn't come up under the tags for some reason. As per y'all, please send in requests, feedback and enjoy!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Remus cursed the moon every month but this month the moon decided to be particularly cruel to him and rear its ugly head the day he was due to go back to Hogwarts. He knew almost the second he made it to Hogsmeade he’d be forced down to the Shrieking Shack to transform and miss at least half of the first day of school and he was pissed about it. He didn’t even know if the Marauders were going to join him tonight, they’d likely be exhausted from the journey, and he couldn’t blame them if they just wanted to sleep. He knew he could at least count on seeing you in the morning when he woke up in the hospital wing. Even before the pair of you became a couple, you would always be there by his side when he woke up, worrying about him or brushing the hair away from his eyes. It was one of the many reasons why he loved you.
Madam Pomfrey was waiting for him the second he stepped off the train at Hogsmeade, she barely gave him any time to say goodbye to the Marauders or you and just hustled him towards the shack that he dreaded entering every month he was at Hogwarts. Madam Pomfrey apologised for dragging him away so quickly, but she wanted to be sure they’d get there before Remus transformed. Remus figured, going off the gentle throbbing in his body, that they had at least fifteen minutes before he transformed but he was glad Madam Pomfrey got him away quickly so there wasn’t the risk of him hurting anyone.
“I’ll be back for you in the morning Remus.” Madam Pomfrey says, as she always does on full moons, her voice gentle and motherly as she approaches the door, looking over her shoulder at the young boy standing in the room. His mouth curved into a small smile as he nods. Madam Pomfrey would never admit it to anyone, but Remus Lupin was her favourite student, and she held a large soft spot for him in her heart. It always broke her heart to leave him in the cold shack once a month and then see the damage done to his body the next morning. She wished more than anything that she could do something to help him. However, she had noticed that in his third year, his injuries seemed less severe than they did in his first two years at Hogwarts. She had no clue what had happened for that to happen, but she was just relieved he was never too injured.
Five minutes after Madam Pomfrey had locked Remus in the shack for the first time of this year at Hogwarts the door opened and closed swiftly and when Remus didn’t see anyone, he knew just who had come in.
“Alright you lot, show yourselves.” He calls, sitting on the bed in the room and watching as the invisibility cloak is dropped, revealing James and Sirius, with Peter as Wormtail perched on James’ shoulder, scampering down, and changing back into Peter.
“Did you really think we’d not show up tonight?” Sirius jokes, sitting beside Remus and throwing an arm around his shoulder, jostling him lightly as they both laugh.
“We promised we’d help you every full moon at Hogwarts.” Peter says, sitting on Remus’ other side as James crosses to stand in front of the three.
“Tonight is no exception, Moony. We’re always here for you.” James says, an unusual seriousness in his tone as he regards Remus softly.
“I know. I’m lucky you lot are the ones I’m stuck with, aren’t I?” Remus jests.
“Cheeky sod!” Sirius remarks, ruffling at Remus’ hair as Peter laughs. Remus manages to escape Sirius’ attack, standing beside James and falling silent when his body throbs strongly.
“You lot should probably change. I don’t think it’ll be too long now…” Remus says, a seriousness falling over the Marauders as Peter moves to open the window before changing into Wormtail as Sirius and James transform into Padfoot and Prongs. Within a few painful minutes, Remus transformed into the wolf and Padfoot and Prongs were instantly herding the wolf out of the shack and towards the Forbidden Forest. It was a routine the three animagi were used to by now and were happily following Moony into the forest when he suddenly froze, ears and nose twitching. He then bolted towards a small clearing where a fox was emerging from behind a tree, tail bristling and ears upright and alert. Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs recognised the fox instantly and were watching Moony nervously, hoping he wouldn’t attack the fox as they both cautiously approached each other.
When the fox and the wolf met in the middle, the unexpected happened. Moony immediately nuzzled into the fox’s side as the fox barked happily, tail swishing excitedly. The fox licked Moony’s face and nibbled playfully on his ear as the three Marauders looked on. The two played excitedly for most of the night but at one point not long before the sun was due to rise, the two curled up together. Moony curled around the small fox protectively and when Padfoot stepped closer to try to herd Moony back into the Shrieking Shack, the wolf growled lowly at the dog’s close proximity to the fox. The werewolf was reluctant to leave his new fox companion behind but with a little encouragement, the stag and the dog were able to coax him into the Shrieking Shack just mere minutes before he changed back into Remus. When Remus was himself once more, the Marauders changed back from their animagus forms
“Merlin Moony, this was the best night in a while.” Peter says proudly as Remus sits on the worn bed, rubbing at his eyes.
“Yeah, you were great!” Sirius continues, crossing to shut and lock the window as James finds the invisibility cloak.
“We’ll fill you in later, yeah? Can’t risk being caught by Pomfrey right now.” James says with a wink, gesturing the other two Marauders over and wrapping the cloak around him and Sirius as Peter transforms into Wormtail so he can sit on James’ shoulder so there’s space for James and Sirius to be completely covered by the cloak. The now invisible Marauders whisper a goodbye and exit the room, locking it behind them and leaving Remus alone in the room.
“Good morning, Remus, you’re looking well. Any injuries I need to look at?” Madam Pomfrey’s gentle voice says the moment she enters the room, smiling softly at him.
“I think I’m alright. I’m bloody knackered though.” He replies, a yawn spilling past his lips as he finishes speaking.
“Let’s get you to the hospital wing so you can get some rest then, shall we?” Madam Pomfrey replies sweetly, waiting patiently for Remus to join her before they start the walk back to Hogwarts and when the two enter the hospital wing, she pulls a screen around his bed and waits for Remus to change into his pyjamas before coming around the screen to give him a little dose of sleeping potion so he could have the undisturbed sleep he needed after full moons. Remus drank the potion, thanking Madam Pomfrey quietly before relaxing back on the bed and allowing the potion to drag him into the comforting embrace of sleep.
Remus woke up in the early afternoon, slowly blinking his eyes open and adjusting to the harsh sunlight coming through the windows. As his eyes adjusted, he heard light snores coming from his side and he looked down to see you fast asleep. You were using your right arm as a pillow and your left hand was gently holding Remus’ right hand, occasionally squeezing it as you slept.
“She came in just after breakfast. The poor dear looked so exhausted so I told her to get in a bed and rest, but she just wanted to stay by your side, so I let her stay with you. You’ve got a good one there Remus.” Madam Pomfrey says quietly as she approaches Remus’ bedside, silently checking him over before moving away to her office to give you and him some privacy. Remus smiled at the words Madam Pomfrey said before carefully extracting his hand from your gentle hold and running it through your hair, occasionally scratching at your scalp as you hum happily, beginning to stir at the soft sensation. You open your eyes, immediately locking eyes with Remus and smiling sleepily at him as you sit up, wincing as your back cracks.
“You feeling okay, Rem?” You ask once you’re sat up, taking Remus’ hand in yours again.
“I’m feeling great, love. Something different must’ve happened last night. Have the others told you if they’ve been in?” Remus asks, interlocking your fingers and looking down at them.
“Well, they didn’t exactly need to tell me anything.” You admit sheepishly, knowing that it’s better to just have this conversation now rather than hiding it.
“What do you mean?” Remus questions, looking back up at you, eyes sewn with confusion as you shuffle the seat closer to the bedside.
“I was kinda… there?” You force out, wincing at your own words and fearing Remus’ reaction.
“You were there? y/n, it’s so dangerous to be anywhere near me when I’m the wolf. I could’ve hurt you; I could’ve bitten you. I could’ve killed you.” Remus says, panicked at what you said, eyes immediately checking you over for any potential injuries.
“I know. But I wanted to help you the same way the others help you. I asked them to help me become an animagus over the summer. They explained the process to me and promised not to tell you until I was ready because I know you and I know you wouldn’t want me doing this.” You explain, looking down at the bedsheet as a brief silence falls over you.
“So you were out there last night?” Remus starts tenderly, squeezing your hand as you nod, a small smile coming to your face at the memories of the night.
“You were amazing. You uh- the second you saw me you were happy to just play with me and then you curled up with me for a bit. The others didn’t have to do anything. Although you weren’t happy when Pads came near me. But you didn’t do anything don’t worry.” You say, thinking of the night and how gentle Remus’ other half had been with you. Not at all like the monster he constantly described himself to be. You then got the courage to look up at Remus, who was clearly fighting back a soft smile as he regarded you.
“I’m not happy that you put yourself in danger just to keep me company on a full moon. But I can’t be mad because I love you and I know you had good intentions.” Remus says finally, detangling your hands and cupping your face gently, smiling when you lean into his touch.
“That’s just one of the things you do for love, is it not?” You ask, pressing a gentle kiss to his palm as he hums in acknowledgement.
“I’d rather it not but I guess it’s too late for that isn’t it?” Remus laughs gently as you move closer, sitting on the edge of his bed before leaning in, silently asking for permission to kiss him. He notices what you’re asking and closes the gap, kissing you gently.
“Miss l/n. Mr Lupin. The two of you seem nice and awake now, don’t you? I believe you can go to your afternoon classes now.” Madam Pomfrey says as she approaches the bedside, making you jump apart and laugh awkwardly at getting caught. Madam Pomfrey smiles gently at the two of you, letting you know silently that she was happy both of you were more awake and alert before she placed Remus’ uniform on the end of his bed as you dug out two timetables from your robe pocket.
“Peter gave me your timetable and told me to give it to you. I haven’t had a chance to look at what classes we have together yet.” You explain, handing the piece of paper to Remus and handing him your timetable when he gestures for it, his eyes flicking between both timetables.
“Okay, I have good news and bad news.” Remus starts, putting the papers down facedown.
“Good news first.” You reply without missing a beat.
“Good news is, we have our afternoon class together.” Remus says, laughing gently when you fist pump slightly before turning your attention back to him.
“Bad news?” You ask cautiously.
“It’s History of Magic.”
Your groan could probably be heard across the entire grounds of Hogwarts.

Ty so much for the tag, lovely! ♡, ofc we all know I'm gonna talk about Remus...
HEADCANONS: Remus with Ravenclaw!Reader, how they met, perhaps how they are always competing (who gets the higher grades? Who masters a spell faster? Romantic rivals <3.), how he reacts with PDA too if it fits! < 3.
Sorry if its a bit long omg, I just got excited 🥺
Don’t worry, I love talking about Remus too! 🥺
My headcannon celebration is now closed!
Remus Dating a Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
You and Remus first met at the Hogwarts library (honestly where else would you two meet)
The both of you were reaching for the same book at the same time and both of you weren’t going to back down easily
So after a slight staring contest, he decided to back down and find another copy
and that marked the start of your little academic rivalry
everyday was a basically a competition of who could get a higher grade, who could answer more questions, who could earn more house points
Your grades were basically either the same or one of you would either be higher by a single point
Remus’ strong suit was Charms so he’s always able to one up you there
your strong suit was potions so you’re always better than him there
and after numerous remarks from your classmates (and teachers) - Remus finally got the courage to ask you out
He isn’t the type to be huge on PDA, but if someone’s flirting with you and doesn’t get the hint he’ll swoop in and press a kiss to your lips
but he’ll always have a hand around your waist or interlocked with yours though

You laid out in your boyfriends bed, rolling around on his bed as you rubbed his smell on you and your smell into his bed. Your ears perked up at the sound of the dorm door opening and your tail swayed a bit faster. “Daddy!” You said sitting up on your knees and bouncing as you saw remus walk inside “ah,hi kitty. What’re you doin?” He asked and you smiled reaching out for him. His eyes glanced down to the mess that was his bed. “Kitten.” He called in a warning tone.
Your tail stopped swaying and dropped onto the bed “what’ve I said about rolling on my bed?” Your face fell into a pout “but daddy’s been gone for so long and I-” “kitten, I asked you a question. Answer it.” You mewled and looked down “you said not to roll on it” you admitted in defeat “Mhm, I did.” You glanced up at him now that he was standing in front of you and next to his bed.
“Jus’ missed daddy” you whimpered and remus lifted your chin up “you still broke the rules kitty, you can’t disobey me like that. You understand?” You nodded as his thumb softly stroked your cheek perking your tail back up to slowly sway back and forth over his bed. “I’m sorry daddy” Remus lifted his other hand to pet your head, fingers running around your ears making you jolt and press your thighs together. “Daddy…” you whined hands pawing at his chest, he was quick to hold your wrists and take them off him.
“Didn’t say you could touch kitty, now behave. I’d hate to have to turn my good girls bum red.” Your squeezed your thighs together at the thought. “Gonna shower, promise to be a good kitty?” You nodded and he smiled pressing a kiss to your forehead before leaving.
You waited until you heard the shower water start to shift on his bed. You laid down on your back your head on his pillow as you were quick to pull your skirt up pushing your fingers around your panties and pulling them off. You were quick to work your fingers inside you, remus took long showers so you weren’t even concerned about being caught.
It took a matter of minutes for your orgasm to rush over your fingers. After coming to you heard the water click off and you were quick to grab your panties tugging them back on. You fixed your skirt and knelt back down on his bed facing the door just as it opened. You smiled up at your boyfriend “you’re such a good girl.” His praise was sending heat back into your core.
His hair was still damp when he leaned down to kiss you, stands sticking to his forehead made you smile. “Scoot.” He said and you shuffled back giving him room to lay down. He pulled you to his chest your back resting against his chest as he nuzzled into your hair. “You always smell so sweet, like honey” you blushed and smiled purring as you felt his hand stroke your hip. Your tail was swaying against his chest urging him to chuckle, he reached out grabbing the base of your tail and yanking. You yelped and jumped forward as pleasure shot through your body. Remus smirked “meanie.” You huffed ears pressing against your head as his fingers rubbed around the base of your tail pushing mewls from you.
“Sound so pretty, kitty.“ you squirmed feeling that same fire electing in your lower tummy. You were so dazed you didn’t even feel his fingers dipping into your underwear until it was too late. It was like time froze the second you heard the wet smear of his fingers through your folds and you knew, you’d been caught. You squirmed more trying to get up before he could pin you down but it was too late. The arm that your head was resting on tightened around your neck, his forearm pressing down on your throat.
“What’s this?” He asked pulling his fingers back and scissoring them out to show your juices link the two, both slick with your cum. “I don’t know…” you whined and remus flexed his arm choking you harsher. You let out a heaved breath. “Don’t play dumb kitty, you know what this is.” “Then why ask?” You snapped back and remus raised his brow. “Excuse me?” You huffed “why ask? It’s cum,my cum. It comes out of me when I orgasm…didn’t…didn’t you take sex Ed? Or are you just dumb, daddy” you knew you were pushing way too far.
Remus growled in your ear before he flipped you over landing you on your stomach. He didn’t say anything just reached under your skirt a ripped your panties at the seams. You mewls your tail falling down to cover yourself as your ears pressed flat against your head. “Kitty, move your tail.” He warned and you whined. “No, you’ll be mean to me” you said over your shoulder. “I will yank your pretty tail so Fucking hard you see stars, now move. It.” You shook your head.
Remus sighed “you know, you’re such a good kitty” you felt him get up and looked behind you as he walked over to his wardrobe. “You deserve a treat” he said and your ears perked up your tail slowly relaxing away from you. Your eyes widened the second you caught whiff of the herb. “Daddy! Want it!” You flipped back over sitting up on your knees. “Yeah? You’ll be good for me?” You nodded eagerly and he dipped the tip of his finger into the small bag it picking up barely anything but that was enough.
You opened your mouth immediately and he let you suck it off his fingers. By the time he returned from putting it up you were already gone. Your eyes were dilated and you were pawing at your shirt feeling too confined in it. “Daddy..!” You whimpered “help!” Remus smiled “apologize to daddy first sugarpea” you whined. “M’so sorry daddy. ‘Was a bad girl” he nodded humming. “What’d you do that was bad kitty?” “I touched myself without daddy’s permission.” “Yeah? And why’s that a bad thing?” Remus was smug by now, knowing he would always always win against you.
“Because I belong to daddy and my pussy is daddy’s too.” Remus finally helped you tug your shirt off as you mumbled soft thank you’s. “Gonna let daddy fuck you?” You nodded “yeah! Wanna…wanna ride daddy” “Awwh…kitty..” he shook his head his hand softly holding your chin. “You think this is about you? No, no no. This is about me okay?” His grip tightened as he jerked you towards his face “this about me and my pleasure, you already came.” You whined and a sharp slap was sent through your face. “Dont you Fucking whine. You did this to yourself kitty, now turn around and present yourself to me” you huffed but complied. You got on all fours and pressed your shoulders down in the mattress you back arching as your ass was raised into the air.
“Good girl” he cooed. You were completely spaced out not even taking in your surroundings just focused on how fuzzy your brain felt and the pang of arousal shooting through you every few seconds. You gasped feeling him press straight into your heat, all in one thrust. “See, this feels better then your fingers right kitty?” You nodded “too bad you don’t get to cum” he started thrusting after that. Long, deep, quick thrusts you whined knowing he was just focusing on getting himself finished as quick as possible.
“Poor thing…see if you didn’t act like a bitch in heat you’d get to feel a lot better. Just my dumb like cumslut, isn’t that right kitty?” You nodded whining “gonna be my good little pet from now on?” You nodded once more and remus chuckled “you take it so well kitty, you make daddy feel so good” he smiled when your tail hooked around his waist at his praise.
Remus flipped you over and he smiled seeing the far away look in his eyes knowing you probably didn’t hear a thing he just said. He was quick to continue his thrusts watching as you got further and further away from here. Remus lost it completely as he spilled his seed inside you filling you right up. “Perfect little pet” he mumbled mostly to himself but he still caught the small smiled that appeared on your face at the praise.
Remus cleaned the both of you up as he waited for the catnip to wear off. He slipped one of his sweaters on you holding you to his chest as you dozed in and out. You purred as he ran his fingers through your hair making him smile, he kissed your forehead softly giving you the time you need to recover.
You blinked your eyes awake not sure what time it was just that it was night. You glanced over seeing remus asleep next to you and you shifted seeing the red numbers of his clock.
3:26 am
You sighed and rubbed at your eyes you were immediately overwhelmed by the scent of your boyfriend only then realizing you had his sweater on. You whined feeling your body heat up you pawed at remus’ chest mewling. “Baby it’s too early go back to bed!” He rolled over and you whined louder pawing at his back and shoulder now.
“Princess what is wro-” remus finally sat up enough to see you his eyes focusing in you. Your cheeks were flushed and your eyes dilated to just black pupils. “Awh did your heat hit you baby?” He asked and you mewled leaning over to gently lick at his lips, you continued your small little licks down his jaw and to his neck where you sunk your teeth into his neck. “It’s okay kitty don’t worry daddy is right here and he’ll help” you nodded and smiled dreamily at him.
“What is you want? You know you have to use your big girl words honey” you nodded “want daddy!” You said and remus chuckled “where?” “Inside me!” You added and he hummed “why?” You furrowed your brows at all his questions. “Want daddy’s cum….wanna be all filled up with daddy so everyone knows he’s mine.” “Awh how sweet my cute little kitty” you purred at his praise. He pushed you back into the mattress
“don’t worry baby daddy’s gonna make sure you’re nice and filled up. Pump you so full of me you’ll leak it for weeks okay? Just be a good little dumb kitty for me and take all daddy gives you”

Save Your Tears For Another Day - (Young) Remus Lupin X Female Reader
Tumblr media
Title: Save Your Tears For Another Day
(Young) Remus Lupin X Female Reader
Additional Characters: Sirius, James, Peter, Lily, Pomfrey (Mentioned), Reader's grandmother, Aunt Helen (Mentioned), and nurses
WC: 3,685
Warnings: Long fic, mention of wounds, mention of scars, mention of cuts, Remus werewolfing, slight angst, side-character death, and slight suggestiveness
You were just seven when your grandmother died, which really tore you up. She was the only one in your family who ever showed any affection for you, (besides your aunt Helen). In fact, she practically raised you because your mother couldn't stand to be around children. Your father had left her years before and never looked back. You had always wondered why your mother had children if she didn't like them, but that wasn't the problem at the moment.
You stood next to your grandmother's bed, the doctors and your aunt Helen had left the room. Your grandmother weakly took in each breath, her chest rising and falling shallowly. She slowly turned her head to face you, a weak but sad smile on her face. "My little girl," she said softly as tears began streaming down both of your cheeks.
"I... I have something for you." She spoke, gesturing with her eyes to her bedside table.
"It's in the top drawer." She spoke softly, before roughly coughing.
You opened the top drawer, the one you were forbidden to open before. Inside was a crystal necklace, hung with a silver chain. It was gorgeous, especially to your little eyes, which sparkled as you held the crystal up in the air.
"Now, this, my child, will help you whenever you are in danger." Your grandmother spoke, gesturing to the necklace.
"What does it do?" You asked and your grandmother hummed thoughtfully.
"Well, my dear, those who may cause you harm, won't go near you if you wear this. Do you want to hear... One last story?" She explained and finally asked with hushed breaths.
You nodded sadly, before looking at the sparkling light blue crystal.
Your grandmother took in a deep breath before speaking, "Well, a long time ago, there was a little girl, like you..."
You perked up at that, "Like me?"
"Like you." She nodded, "And one day, a beggar woman came to her, asking for a cup of water."
You nodded for her to continue.
"The little girl got her the water and the beggar woman smiled at her saying, "You have shown me kindness, and for that, I shall give you a prize," Grandmother spoke, before coughing again.
She didn't have much time.
"The beggar woman handed the little girl a crystal necklace that could ward off any evil, but before the little girl could thank her, she was gone." She continued.
You hopped onto the bed, snuggling closer to your grandmother like you used to, listening to her story.
"One night, while picking berries for her mother, the girl stumbled upon an ogre."
You gasped, eyes wide. "What did she do?"
Your grandmother smiled, "Well, the ogre came closer to the little girl, and he was hungry. But, upon seeing the crystal, he froze."
"What happened next? Did she run away?" You asked and your grandmother shook her head.
"No, dear. Listen to the story." She laughed softly before coughing.
Clearing her throat, she continued, "As the ogre was distracted by the crystal, a boy around the little girl's age ran over and defeated the ogre. The little girl was a bit annoyed because she didn't want to be saved. She hated ol' fairy tales. She thought she didn't need a knight in shining armor to rescue her."
"What did she do then?" You asked.
"Well, she went up to the boy and told him off. "I didn't need to be saved. I was doing just fine," She said."
"But, the boy just shook his head, "You would've been ogre food if I didn't," He said." Making you giggle.
"Well, she was angry, so she huffed and turned back to leave, but the boy followed. He wanted to talk to her. What she didn't know was that the boy had fallen in love with her."
Your bright eyes widened as you clutched onto the necklace, "He fell in love with her that fast?"
Your grandmother nodded, "Yes, love works in mysterious ways. It can happen at any time. And the boy was sure that he loved her."
"Woah." You spoke in astonishment. "Please continue."
"Well, the two slowly became friends, and as the years went on, they went to Hogwarts. And the little girl; now a smart and talented witch, fell in love with her savior."
Your eyes widened even more at that. You loved those stories. "Did they get married? Like the princesses in my stories?"
Your grandmother nodded with a smile, "Yes, they got married, and had three children, one of which one was your mother."
You gasped, "My mother? You were the little girl? The boy was grandfather?"
Your grandmother smiled fondly up at you, you had so much wonder and curiosity. "Yes, my dear, and now I will pass this onto you."
You nodded, frowning slowly, you looked down at the necklace in your little hands.
"I'm so sorry, Nana," You choked out through the tears.
Your grandmother smiled through her pain, which made her look even more frail than normal. "It's alright," She whispered gently. "We all have to go some time."
She closed her eyes and took another breath before quietly passing away. The nurse came into the room moments later. "Is everything okay?"
You sniffled, not bothering to wipe your tears away. "She's gone." You replied.
"Oh, my dear," The nurse spoke with sympathy as she put a hand on your shoulder, "I think it's best you leave now. Your aunt is downstairs."
You said nothing but turned back to look towards your grandmother, she still had a smile on her face, eyes shut. She looked as if she was sleeping. She looked at peace.
You hugged the crystal against your chest as you left the bedroom, but once you got outside, you started crying again. You wiped your tears and stood there for hours, as your aunt held you close. With a deep heart, you slowly put on the necklace. You vowed from then on, that you would never take off the necklace ever.
~~~
You straightened your cloak, making sure you looked alright before going down for breakfast. Lily had already left, but you had decided to sleep in just a bit more. Slipping on your necklace, you made sure it was on correctly before double-checking your recently pranked, green hair and leaving the common room. It had taken Lily a lot of convincing but she had gotten you to take off your necklace at night before bed. She was worried you would get strangled in the night. You took it off for her sake, but the necklace was back on your neck first thing in the morning. You loved Lily dearly, she was your best friend.
You stumbled down the many moving stairs and into the great hall, automatically spying the boys at the Gryffindor table. You walked over and Remus was the first to spot you, looking up from his book with a smile. You sat beside him, as you have for the past five years, and began to put some toast and eggs on your plate.
"Hey," Sirius said with a smirk, "How did you like our present?"
You giggled, "You mean the prank you did on me, making my hair green?" You teased.
Sirius shrugged, "Mmm, yeah, that one."
You smirked, crossing your arms. "Well, it wasn't clever by any chance."
"No, it was brilliant! Just wait until everyone sees you!" He grinned evilly.
Lily rolled her eyes, "Oh, please. It's like he has a death wish."
You sighed, "He does."
Sirius and James both took a sip of their pumpkin juice, not realizing what they had just done. Slowly, both their hair began to turn a bright pink, making Peter cackle at them, pointing.
You glanced at Remus, seeing he was struggling to keep a straight face. "Oh, I wonder how that happened," You mumbled under your breath with a smirk.
Remus smiled wryly at you before turning back to his food and book.
Sirius turned to James, pointing at his hair.
"Your hair is pink!"
James looked at Sirius, eyes wide, "Your hair is too!"
The two pranksters turned to look at you with wide eyes.
"How did you do that? You're terrible at charms." James asked and you just scoffed, rolling your eyes.
"I may have had help." You spoke, as you watched James and Sirius look at each other confused, briefly.
They then quickly turned to Remus, fake offense on their faces.
"You helped her?" Sirius asked, his cheeks flushing red.
"Yes," Remus said, a small smile on his face, "You both dyed her hair green. Uncalled for in my opinion."
James turned to Sirius and mouthed 'whipped' as Sirius nodded in agreement. James and Sirius shared a look that lasted for a few seconds before they burst out laughing. Once they had calmed down, James and Sirius turned back to you, grinning widely.
"Good job, you've pranked us, now when will this go away?" Sirius asked and you shrugged.
"It should go away like... In a month..." You teased the two boys.
Sirius stared down at you from across the table, eye wide, "A month!?"
"It's the busy season, lots of foot traffic at Hogsmeade next week." You said with a smirk as you grabbed another piece of bacon.
Sirius looked at James, eyes wide. "You planned this?"
You nodded, "I knew you two were going to prank me. April first was only a couple weeks ago."
Sirius smirked, "You sly little devil."
You place a hand on your chest, "I try, but don't forget, Remus helped me plant the potion in your drinks."
"How did we not notice?" Sirius asked, looking at Remus who shrugged.
"It's the busy season, I'd barely notice myself..." Remus spoke softly.
You smiled sweetly towards Remus, "Precisely."
~~~
You had been suspicious of the boys for a long time. For a night a month, they would disappear, only to come back to wherever they went and Remus in the infirmary. You wanted to know what was going on, but whenever you asked, they would change the subject. You stopped asking for Remus's sake. However, your curiosity never died, and you found yourself watching the boys every chance you got, trying to catch them sneaking out of the common room.
And one night, you had.
It was the twenty-fifth of April, 1975. Only a couple weeks after Sirius and James's prank. You laid on the common room couch, pretending to be asleep. A trick you mastered, having a nosey aunt. You snuggled deeper into the red cushion, pulling your blanket back up to your neck. You could hear the boys talking about something but couldn't make out what it was. For mostly being gits, they were good at keeping secrets.
"She's asleep." Peter whispered and Sirius hummed skeptically.
"She doesn't fall asleep easily." James spoke, voice low.
"Yeah, but she really looks asleep." Peter added.
"Alright. I'll meet you guys there," Sirius said, rising from the couch.
"We got to hurry," James muttered before you heard the portrait shut.
You waited a bit until you knew for sure they were gone. You hopped up from the couch and rushed over to the window, you later saw a small rat, scurry under the whooping willow, freezing its branches. Then came Sirius and James running under and into a secret passageway within the tree's base. Curiosity got the best of you, and you quickly ran out of the common room, but not before grabbing your wand.
You made sure not to get caught by any prefects or adults, as you made your way outside. The willow began to toss around its branches in the air, almost hitting you. You quickly backed up, pulling out your wand and using a levitating spell, moving a branch and placing it where you thought you saw the rat step on. By some chance of pure luck, you managed to get it, and headed down into the passage.
Stepping down into some small room, you looked around, seeing yourself in some sort of small kitchen. Then you heard the voices, stepping into the next room, you were shocked to see Sirius, James, and Remus.
"Remus? What's going on?" You questioned, seeing them trying to keep Remus calm.
Sirius, James, and Remus quickly turned to you, freaking out.
"You have to leave now, Y/N!" Sirius demanded, pointing at you.
You frowned and stepped forward, "Why?"
"Because it's dangerous, Y/N!" James growls.
You pulled your wand from your robes out of instinct, "What are you talking about?"
"Please! Just go, Y/N!" Remus called out, seemingly in pain as he hunched over.
You stepped closer, incredibly worried for your best friend, "Tell me what's wrong."
Remus groaned, holding his head in pain, "Please!" He begged again.
"Remus, are you alright?"
"She has to get out of here!" Sirius yelled.
You furrowed your brow, looking at all three boys in concern, "Just tell me if Remus is alright."
"Come with us, Y/N," Sirius urged, taking your hand.
James grabbed your other arm, "We need to get you out of here."
You shook your head, trying to pull your arm from James, "No. Let me go."
But, it was too late.
Remus groaned, hunching over in pain. You pulled out of Sirius's hand, trying to reach out to Remus.
"Don't! Y/N!" Sirius cried.
You ignored him, reaching your hand out, but then heard Remus cry out. Your eyes widened, realizing what was happening. Your eyes widened as you watched Remus transform into a werewolf. You quickly backed up, completely in tunnel vision. Sirius and James tried to gain Remus's... The werewolf's attention, but it didn't work. His cold, brown eyes, which used to be so warm; now cold, were trained only on you.
"Remus…" You cried, as you felt something push against your chest, and you fell backward onto the floor.
The werewolf stood above you, shaking off some excess fur, staring right at you, growling. He leaned down closer, teeth bared and ready.
"Remus, please don't do this." You pleaded, your voice cracking.
You held your breath, waiting for the werewolf to attack. But, instead of biting you, he seemed to freeze. You looked up and saw his eyes trained on your necklace. Your eyes went wide, remembering what your grandmother had said. You watched as your necklace glowed a bright white, before fading as quickly as it came. Werewolf Remus whimpered and ran out of the hidden house under the willow and into the Forbidden Forest.
Shocked, James and Sirius looked at you, without any words.
"My grandmother gave me this, it doesn't let anything harm me." You muttered, out of breath.
"That makes sense," James spoke before the two also ran out, changing into their animagus forms, to make sure Remus didn't do anything else.
Letting out a breath, you slid up and leaned against the cupboards, trying to catch your breath. Your mind raced, how did you not notice that Remus was a werewolf? The nights off in the infirmary, his scars... When he was staring down at you, his eyes... You saw Remus in there, in pain.
You remembered the day you and Remus had met when you were eleven years old. You met him on the train to Hogwarts, sitting across from you, next to a boy named Sirius, and James. A boy named Peter came in a bit later and sat next to you. But, you hadn't been able to take your eyes off Remus, feeling drawn to his beautiful brown eyes.
They were almost like chocolate, but with flecks of gold.
"Hello, my name is Y/N." You spoke up, looking at Remus, blushing.
"I'm Remus." He spoke softly, fidgeting with his hands.
"I'm Sirius." The boy with black hair spoke, winking at you.
"My name is Peter." The boy with the long nose spoke.
"And my name is James Potter. Nice to meet you. Have you seen a girl named Lily anywhere?" The boy with messy hair and glasses asked.
From then on, the five of you became friends, along with Lily. She became your bestest friend. And, here you were, sitting next to Remus's bed, waiting for him to wake. You gazed at his newly bangadged arms and hands, and the one wrapped sideways around his head, covering one eye.
Remus groaned, opening his good eye and looking beside him to you.
"Well, I guess you're awake now." You chuckled.
Remus groaned again, trying to sit up, you quickly left your seat and sat down on the side of his bed.
"Easy, Remmy." You murmured, leaning forwards, stroking his cheek, trying to be careful of his new cuts and scars.
"I didn't hurt you, did I?" He asked, sounding concerned, his good eye looking over you for any wounds of your own.
You shook your head, "No, no. You didn't."
He sighed in relief, and you smiled, "I'm sorry you had to see me like that..."
"Hey, I'm just glad you're alright, I was worried. That doesn’t matter right now."
Remus sighed and looked down at his bandaged hands. "If I wasn't a monster, you wouldn't have been worried."
You looked at him in shock, "What?"
"I'm a monster..." He sighed.
You furrowed your brows, "No, Remus, you are not."
Remus shook his head, "I am though, I could've hurt you."
"But you didn't."
"I could have."
You nodded, "Yes, you could have, but you didn't. And you won’t."
Remus looked down at his hands, "I always end up hurting people..."
You gently took his hand in yours, rubbing your finger across the bandage. "It's not your fault, Remus."
Remus closed his eye and took in a deep breath, he pulled his hand away.
"You should be afraid of me, you should hate me." He muttered.
You shook your head, "I don't hate you, Remus."
"Then why would you come here?" He asked, looking down.
"I came because I care about you."
Remus scoffed, "And the others couldn't be here."
"Pomfrey only let me in." You spoke and Remus nodded.
"I came, because I really do care about you, Remus. More than you think." You told him, looking up at him as you continued, "I'd gladly walk in front of traffic for you."
Remus opened his eyes and looked at you, "So you really mean that?" A small smile graced his face.
You nodded, "The last thing I would ever do is lie to you, Remus."
"Thank you." Remus muttered, closing his eyes.
You smiled at him, "Anything for you."
Remus, this time, grabbed your hand, holding it in his. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at you, "Y/N, can I ask you something?"
You frowned, but nodded, "Of course, Remus."
Remus sat up slightly and rubbed his good eye, "Do you want to marry me?"
Your eyes began to tear up, shocked. "Skipping the dating part?" You laughed.
Remus shrugged, "I mean, why date when we could just skip to getting married?"
You wiped a tear from your eye, "Yeah, I do." You smiled.
Remus nodded, "Okay, well... Um..." He wasn't expecting you to say yes.
Remus looked to the ground, "I don't deserve you..." He spoke, trailing off.
"Of course you do. But, if we're playing that game. I don't deserve you either." You smiled, giving his hand another squeeze. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"I do." Remus insisted, "I want to marry you."
You grinned, scooting closer to him, and kissed the top of his head, "Oh?"
Remus blushed, "I want to marry you. I've wanted to ever since our second year."
You smiled wider, "I knew I wanted to in our first year." You spoke, wiping a few tears from your eyes with your free hand as you remembered something funny.
"I remember running home during summer break and ranting to my aunt about how I was going to marry you." You laughed, face red.
Remus smiled, his face flushing more, "That's cute."
You smirked, "My aunt holds it over me when I come home each year, asking if I proposed yet." You laughed.
Remus rested his head back, sighing in happiness. "I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Remus." You whispered.
"I can't wait to marry you, don't worry I'll get you a ring."
You giggled, "We still have a long way to go, Remus. We're both only fifteen."
Remus shrugged, "I know, but I'm excited."
You smiled, kissing him on the forehead. "I know, me too."
Remus reached up and stopped you from pulling back, he looked to your eyes to your lips and back. You knew what he was asking, as you wet your bottom lip, your heartbeat quickening. Remus leaned up, pressing his lips against yours. Your eyes flew closed, and your hands went to his shoulders, pulling yourself closer. Remus let out a soft moan, deepening the kiss.
You broke the kiss, gasping for air, as you looked down at Remus's flushed face. He panted, trying to catch his breath as well, but you two weren't done. You moved forward and kissed him again, passionately. Remus moaned, and you smiled against his mouth. Remus's hands ran through your hair, cupping your face. Slowly, the two of you pulled away.
"Wow." Remus breathed, panting.
You giggled, "I'm sorry, I got a little carried away."
Remus shook his head, "No, I liked it. I can't believe I finally have you."
You just shook your head, "And I finally have you."
He laughed gently, as you shook your head, looking serious.
"I'm serious, Remmy. Think of this. I get to go home this summer and brag to my aunt that I finally got my man." You teased him.
Remus chuckled, "I love you." He spoke softly, looking up at you adoringly.
He looked at you as if you hung the stars in the sky.
You sigh, eyes half-lidded as you rested your hand under your chin, gazing down at Remus. "I know. I love me too."
Remus sighed and rolled his eyes, "Gosh."

you're losing me

word count: 1,1k
a/n: idek if i like this but i'll just post it. thanks to @myriadmoons for helping me write this, ily<3
Tumblr media
Stop, you’re losin’ me
“you’re so pretty” he’s practically on top of you, although the common room is empty. he’s touching your face, your hair, your hands. he sees you’re getting flustered and continues. “you don’t understand how pretty you are”
“remus” you wince, trying to get away from his hold.
“what, babe?” he says, almost mocking you.
“stop” you insist.
“stop what?” he hides in your neck, and you can feel the smirk growing on his face when your hand goes to his hair.
“this” he doesn’t seem to care, because he distances from you, puts his hand on the back of your neck, leaning in to kiss you.
when he pulls away, he leans his forehead on yours, and for a moment, it seems like he’s going to confess, like he’s going to say the three words you’re waiting for.
but he doesn’t,
instead, he pulls away when he hears your friends walking in, he sits back on the couch, away from you, and starts reading like nothing happened.
Every mornin', I glared at you with storms in my eyes
How can you say that you love someone you can't tell is dyin'?
I sent you signals and bit my nails down to the quick
My face was gray, but you wouldn't admit that we were sick
you were sitting next to him, watching him lie on the infirmary bed, just like every month.
"babe, stop doing that" you don't know when he woke up, you just know that his hand is on yours so you stop biting your nails. you immediately get up, grabbing his face so you can look at it.
"how are you feeling?" he smiles, staring at your eyes. if only he could see the storms in them.
"good" he replies as he grabs your waist, moving you to lie next to him.
and you stay like that for a while, talking about nothing in particular, his hands on you all the time.
once he feels better he gets up, slowly gathering his things. you walk him to the door, but you don't get out.
"i think i'll stay here for a bit, i'm feeling sick" you look at him, and there's a bit of confusion in his eyes.
"oh, okay" that's the last thing he says before leaving.
Stop, you’re losin’ me
the next time he sees you, you're both at a party, and your friends aren't there yet. so he approaches you, takes a sip from your cup and puts his arms around you.
"hi" he smiles.
"hi" you smile back.
"i love your outfit" he stares at it.
"thanks"
"i could show you how much i love it in my room thought" he smirks when you blush.
"stop"
"okay" he replies, but he hugs you tighter.
and you stay like that for a bit, but when he sees lily walking towards you he completely pulls away, and he disappears before you can say something.
And the air is thick with loss and indecision
I know my pain is such an imposition
Now, you're running down the hallway
And you know what they all say
"You don't know what you got until it's gone"
when you walk out of the common room, he doesn't know whether to follow you or not. he stares at the now cold spot next to him, but he's not sure if he should follow you.
when he sees you, you're drying your face. and he stares at the redness of them.
"love, are you okay?" he sits next to you, on the hallway floor.
"yes" he sighs, taking one of your hands in his.
"if you need anything, i'm here, you know?" he explains, not staring at you.
"i know"
neither of you talk for a while, you staring at the wall in front of you, him staring at your hand on his.
"i'm sorry that my pain is a burden"
"your pain could never be an imposition" he assures you.
"stop"
"it's true, i mean it"
he says, but as soon as someone calls him from the end of the hallway, he gets up.
"i'm sorry, i have to leave"
and you know you shouldn't care, you know you shouldn't go to his dorm later that day so you can go study together, you know you should just ignore him. but you go anyway.
"you're going to study with mrs. moony?" you hear sirius ask remus, from outside the room.
"stop fucking calling her mrs. moony, she's not my wife" you hear remus spat at sirius, and you think that you might just leave, that you don't want to listen to the whole conversation.
"what the fuck is wrong with you?" sirius doesn't know you're there, but he's still offended.
"she's just following me all the time, asking me if she can help me, she's just a people pleaser, like i would marry her" and that's when you decide that it's enough, that you don't want to keep listening, that you don't want to see him anymore.
and he waits, he waits for you in the library, where you were supposed to meet. he waits until curfew. he waits until the next morning, when you're supposed to sit next to him during breakfast. he waits in class, where you're supposed to sit next to him.
but you know what they all say, you don't know what you got until it's gone.
Fighting in only your army, frontlines, don't you ignore me
I'm the best thing at this party (You're losing me)
And I wouldn't marry me either
A pathological people pleaser
Who only wanted you to see her
he approaches you again while you're choosing something to drink.
"i like your outfit" he smiles.
"stop" you walk away from him, making him frown.
"what?
"you're losing me"
“what? c’mon, talk to me”
he follows you out of the party, to talk, he said, but when you want to, he doesn't listen. instead, he takes your cup out of your hand.
"stop ignoring me!" you say when he starts looking around.
"i'm not!" but then he looks at a couple who just walked out of the common room.
"i'm the best thing at this party"
you're losing me
he doesn't talk, he just stares at you, that's when you feel the tears filling your eyes.
"and i wouldn't marry me either, a pathological people pleaser" you chuckle, tears running down your face. "who only wanted you to see her"
you wait for him to say something, to apologize, to take his words back, to react, but he just stares at you.
"Do something, babe, say something" (Say something)
"Lose something, babe, risk something" (You're losing me)
"Choose something, babe, I got nothing" (I got nothing)
"To believe, unless you're choosing me"
"do something, babe, say something" you insist, but he just looks at the floor. "lose something, risk something"
you're losing me
"chose something, love, i got nothing" you tell him, waiting for him to do something.
to believe, unless you're choosing me

It was your seventh year at Hogwarts, and the New Years ball was rapidly approaching. There was now one week until the ball, and anyone that didn’t have a date already was frantically asking anyone they could find. You, on the other hand, had rejected every person that asked you, deciding not to spoil your night with a random classmate that would expect a new year’s kiss from you.
The Marauders had placed their bets on which one of them would get a date first, and of course it was easy for James to ask Lily right away. He took the crown, followed by Sirius, who asked Marlene McKinnon. Peter took a while, but options became scarce as the ball got closer and girls became less picky with their choices. Remus was still without a date, but he knew that the rest of them would never leave him alone if he told them, so he lied instead. It was already bad enough that he ended up in last place, and he didn’t want to go without a date at all.
So, he told them that he had asked you, and that you said yes.
They didn't believe him, but he said that he was going to prove them wrong and that they’d just have to wait until the ball to see. That gave him enough time to actually muster up the courage to just ask you. Well, not really, but he didn’t have much of a choice. Besides, it would be less embarrassing for him to actually ask you than to admit to them that he lied about it.

“Hey, L/n, wait up!” Sirius’ voice echoed out to you in the empty hallway.
You were on your way to the library to work on a project with Remus. The two of you had known each other as acquaintances for quite some time, and you eventually became friends. You were paired together for a project so you occasionally spent time with him inside and outside of class. He was planning on bringing up the ball situation to you during your session at the library, but unfortunately for him, Sirius got to you first.
Sirius jogged to catch up with you, slowing to a walk beside you. “Remus said he asked you to the New Year’s ball. Is that true?”
You peered behind his shoulder, seeing Remus frantically speed-walking to the scene. Judging by the look on his face, you decided it would probably be best to just go along with whatever was going on at the moment.
“Yes, he did.” You stated, hugging your books close to your chest.
“And you said yes?” He questioned.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Well, you rejected the entire school, so forgive me for being shocked.”
“He asked me, and I said yes. Can I go now? I have a project to work on.”
“It’s winter break. Why are you working on a project when you have time to relax?”
“It’s due shortly after the break is over. I’d rather do it gradually than cram it all into one night. Though I’m sure you’re the procrastinating type.”
“Yeah, yeah, go on then.” He crossed his arms, scowling.
You rolled your eyes, turning on your heel and continuing on your way to the library. Remus followed quickly behind, ignoring Sirius’ taunting as he passed by.
You entered the quiet library, finding a seat in your usual corner and setting your books down. Remus sat in front of you, cheeks pink from embarrassment.
“What was that all about?” You inquired, crossing your arms across your chest.
“Well, you see, uh…” Remus spoke, fiddling with the hem of his sweater. “We made a bet on who could get a date to the ball first, and I ended up losing, but I didn’t want them to know that I didn’t have a date at all, so I just lied. You were the first person that came to mind, considering that you’re the only person I spend time with other than them. I’m sorry, you don’t have to go with me, I’ll just have to come clean. Though I don’t know what's more embarrassing: having to lie about having a date or admitting that I lied about it.”
“I’ll go with you, Remus. I know you’ll never hear the end of it from them if you don’t go with me. Besides, you’re the only person that I wouldn’t mind going with.” You said, registering your own words a moment too late. “I just mean that you’re the only one that isn’t obnoxious, and I know you won’t ruin the night for me.”
“Right, of course. Well, if it’s really no trouble, then I’d love to go with you. And not just because they’d bully me if I didn’t.” Remus admitted, offering you a warm smile.
You felt your cheeks heat up at his words. You knew that you didn’t just accept his invitation to save him from torment: honestly, you’d love to go with him. Your idea of a dreadful New Year’s kiss with a stranger was quickly turning into a wish that Remus would kiss you at midnight.
You nodded, offering him a smile. “Alright. I suppose we should get to work.”
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
It was New Year’s Eve, and it was time to make your way to the ball together. Remus waited outside of your common room, holding a bouquet of flowers and pacing back and forth nervously. You were feeling the same nervousness as him, butterflies swarming in your stomach as you gathered the courage to finally meet him in the hallway.
As you stepped out of your common room, Remus’ face lit up at the sight of you. He cleared his throat, offering you the flowers. “You look beautiful, Y/n. Positively radiant.”
“Thank you.” You grinned, accepting the flowers and putting them in your bottomless bag. “You look great too. I don’t understand why Sirius gets all of the attention in your group, you’re just as handsome, if not even more.”
He chuckled bashfully, offering you his arm. “I appreciate that, but don’t let him hear it. He’ll resent you for the rest of his life.”
“Got it. Don’t tell Sirius. Shall we go?” You took his arm, beginning to walk with him to the Great Hall.
─────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───────
You spent most of the night chatting about your lives and sharing punch with firewhiskey in it (courtesy of Sirius).
“So you weren’t lying when you said you were taking Y/n L/n as your date.” James quipped. “I didn’t think you had it in you.”
“Why would I lie? Remus asked, shooting you a sly grin.
The clock was ticking close to midnight, and everyone gathered in the middle of the great hall awaiting the countdown.
“Are you ready, Y/n? It’s our last New Year’s ball at Hogwarts.” Remus asked, looking at you.
“Ready as I’ll ever be. I can’t believe we’re so close to graduation and I went all these years without a New Year’s kiss.”
Remus’ stomach fluttered at your words, though he hid it well. “We could always change that.”
Stunned at his words, you stared up at him, not even noticing the countdown beginning around you. You were snapped back to the present by the crowd roaring the last few numbers.
5…4…3…2…1…
Fireworks erupted above you as the students cheered and yelled out “Happy New Year!”. Students waved their sparklers in the air while others embraced each other.
Remus, however, didn’t take his eyes off of you, and you were fixated on him too. He glanced at your lips, as if asking for permission, and you instinctively nodded. Without further hesitation, he brought his hand behind your head, pulling you in for a gentle kiss.
Time seemed to stop as he kissed you, and your hands settled on his back to hold him close. After a few moments, he pulled away, smiling down at you.
“Happy New Year, Y/n.”

Comfort Zone
Remus Lupin x Reader
Main Masterlist
Summary: Remus likes the quiet girl in his class and helps her out of her comfort zone.
Remus Lupin Masterlist
Tumblr media
You sat next to Remus as silently as you could, praying Mcgonagal wouldn’t notice you slipping into the back row.
You’d accidentally slept in, which you never do, but today you did. And none of your dorm mates are particularly nice. Or friends of yours. So none of them bothered to wake you.
You saw two of them a few rows ahead of you and one, Jess, looked back at you before notifying the other, Donna, of your presence. You saw them giggling behind their hands before you decided maybe coming to class late was somehow worse. You just avoided looking at anyone.
“Ignore them,” you hear whispered next to you. You jump a little at the sound of Remus Lupin’s voice. He rarely spoke to you. He was Remus Lupin, he didn’t have to. He was smart, witty, attractive, popular, and had practically every girl, and some boys too, at Hogwarts at his feet.
“What?” You whisper after a second of processing. He glances at your roommates and nods in their direction. He rolls his eyes and gives you a pointed look.
“They’re ridiculous. Ignore them,” he says. You press your lips together and look at Mcgonagal again.
“That’s pretty difficult when you live with them,” you mumble. He watches you for a second then he shakes his head.
“They’re just jealous,” he says. You almost laugh outright, and cover your mouth with your hand, thankfully not drawing any attention to yourself. You look at Remus who raises an eyebrow at you, clearly confused.
Why would Jess and Donna be jealous of you? They were gorgeous girls with plenty of friends. You… were not that.
“They have nothing to be jealous of, trust me,” you say quietly. Remus scoffs and you stare at him for a second, extremely confused.
“I know for a fact those girls woke up well over an hour before breakfast to get ready for school just to get attention. Jess hasn’t gotten new robes since third year because she thinks the smaller ones make her look better,” he rolls his eyes. “There are those girls and then there are girls that don’t care what others think and wake up for themselves. You strolled into class late, and I’m guessing you slept in, right?” He asks. You hesitate before nodding a little. He smiles a little and nods at you, glancing over you quickly.
That look that he just gave you has made multiple people blush in the past and you heard a rumor he once made someone faint. You think that rumor might be right.
“They’re jealous because you don’t even try and you look ten times better than them,” he says. You stare at him for a moment, and you can feel the heat on your cheeks. He smiles a little at you before refocusing on Mcgonagal.
When class was over you stood up, but Remus stopped you. “Uh, Y/N,” he says. You look at him as you sling your bag over your shoulder. He stands up and you hate how short you feel. “My friends are having a bit of a get together tonight. Do you want to go?” He asks. Your eyes widen a fraction.
“Me?” You ask. He smiles a little wider and nods.
“You,” he says.
“Um…”
“Please? Dorcas and Marlene backed out last minute and Lily would rather die than let the guys outnumber the girls,” he says. You smile a little. You were friendly with the girls from that dorm, you’ve just never really talked much.
“Um… sure,” you finally say. He smiles and nods.
“Great. Meet us in the common room after dinner, alright?” He says. You nod and walk out of the classroom.
That night, you walked into the common room and Mary ran up to you. “Yes! Thank God you’re here. Lily’s about to completely blow,” she says, grabbing your hand and pulling you up the stairs towards the boy’s dormitories.
“Um, are we allowed up here?” You ask. Mary laughs a little and shrugs.
“Not technically, but we come up here all the time. The boys come to ours sometimes too. Minnie doesn’t really care,” she says. She pulls you into a dorm without knocking. Inside you see Lily, Alice Fortescue, and the marauders.
“You’re so arrogant, it’s ridiculous!” Lily exclaims, looking at Sirius.
“Why am I arrogant this time?” He asks. Then notices that Mary had dragged you in here and throws his arms out. “Hallelujah!” He says. Everyone else notices the two of you now and Mary pulls you over to sit next to her, so she was also next to Lily. You noticed that you ended up next to where Remus was sitting on what you assumed was his bed. His legs dangled off the side next to you. He smiles at you when you look at him quickly. You smile back quickly and then look away.
“Sirius was just explaining why he should pick the movie for the third time in a row,” Lily says, pointedly. Sirius sighs and puts his hands on his hips looking at Lily.
“Because, Evans, I have the best taste here, clearly,” he says. Mary gasps next to you and puts her hand over her heart. Sirius puts one hand up and gestures to her. “Okay, Mary and I are tied for fabulousness,” he says. You smile a little at whatever this could be called.
“I’ll accept that for now,” Mary says.
“But, fine. If someone else wants to pick, someone else pick. But no sappy depressing chick-flick, I swear to God!”
This starts a whole new argument over what movie to watch. Eventually Remus moved off the bed and sat on the floor next to you.
“Sorry about them,” he says quietly. You turn to look at him, a small smile on your face.
“Don’t be. This is much better than watching Jess and Donna debate over who their next victims should be,” you say. Remus laughs a little and you smile a little more. You did that. You made Remus Lupin laugh. It’s hard not to feel at least a little proud.
“That’s fair,” he says. You smile at him and he nods at the group. “Anything you want to watch?” He asks. You shake your head and shrug.
“I’ve never watched much TV,” you admit. He raises an eyebrow. “I prefer to read about different worlds and picture them myself than have an image thrown at me,” you say. He smiles a little and nods at your words.
“I definitely understand that,” he says. You smile and finally you notice James turning on the TV and was turning on a movie. You shifted a little and got more comfortable, leaning back against Remus’ bed.
A few times throughout the movie random conversations would break out and it was mostly Mary and Sirius trying to get you involved in them.
By the end of the night you were more comfortable with the group and speaking but not entirely.
You noticed how Alice and Lily had fallen asleep on each others shoulders. It was well past lights out, but for once you didn’t mind all that much.
You felt yourself dozing off by the time the movie ended and decided to force yourself to go back to your dorm. Mary looked over at you and raised an eyebrow. “You’re leaving?”
“Um, yeah. I’m tired so I’m gonna head back to the dorm,” you say. Mary nods and moves to stand up.
“I’ll go with you. Traveling alone is spooky,” she says. You smile a little and nod. She shakes awake the other two girls who get up a minute later. Sirius and James had already collapsed on their beds and Peter had fallen asleep on the floor. You were following Mary out when Remus stopped you again.
“Y/N,” he says. You turn back to him and smile. He hands you your cardigan that you must’ve left on the ground.
“Thanks,” you say. He smiles at you and glances out in the hall.
“Uh, do you wanna do this again some time?” He asks. You smile and nod.
“Sure, I’d like that,” you say. He scratches his neck and smiles at you.
“You think maybe we could? Just you and me? Maybe Hogsmeade on Saturday?” He asks. You blink at him.
“Um… like…” he nods, making you finish the question.
“A date,” he says. “It doesn’t have to be if you don’t want it to be, though,” he adds. You press your lips together, a smile spreading on your face quickly.
“I’d like that, actually,” you say. Remus raises an eyebrow, smiling at you.
“Great. So… Saturday?” He asks and you nod, smiling.
“Saturday. Goodnight, Remus,” you say and give him one last smile before you join the grinning girl in the hall. After the door’s closed and you’re down a bit of the stairs the girls erupt into giggles and squeals and you find yourself doing the same.

Toffee Pt. 1: Hogwarts
Synopsis:
What goes best with Toffee?" "Chocolate."
You had always been taught that sharing made people like you. That's why you shared the toffee your mother had made with the four boys that sat with you on the train to your future school. Little did you know that those boys would change your life: For better and worse.
Tumblr media
You ran to the wall, Eyes closed tightly. You wondered if the man in the funny hat and odd scarf had told you the truth. You didn't crash. Wait! You didn't crash into the substantial brick wall. You flung open your eyes to see trolleys with luggage, cages with owls, kids running up and down the platform, and most importantly: The most majestic train you'd ever seen. In flaked gold letters it read 'Hogwarts Express', the man hadn't lied to you. You hurried up to the train and then to the tall, lanky brunette boy who was helping children about your age heave their trunks into the luggage car. You smiled at him.
"Are you a Hogwarts student?" you asked.
"Yes, I'm a sixth year. You are a first year?"
"Yeah!"
"Well," he picked up your tunk and stacked it on the growing pile, "I would go find an empty place to sit before they all fill up."
He helped you up and you walked through the train cars looking for an empty or mostly empty car; You saw one and dove in. You put your stuff up into the overhead hanger when you heard a small voice, almost mouse-like. You turned to see a blonde boy, nervously rubbing his hands.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Are you saving this space for someone?"
"No." he shyly answered. You smiled.
"What's your name?"
"Peter. Peter Pettigrew."
"That's a nice name!" you told him yours and you slowly began talking when you heard a thud. Two boys slammed into the car. They were laughing and being rather rude not acknowledging you and Peter. You scowled lightly but you promised your mother you would have manners.
"Ugh I hate that guy already! and the girl was kind of annoying too-Oh!" the slightly taller one said when he turned to see you and the nervous boy.
"Sorry." The one with glasses said.
They shared an awkward look so you decided to speak up.
' You can sit here if you'd like, we don't care, do we, Peter?" He shook his head yes. The two boys finished stuffing their stuff and sat down.
"What're your names?"
"James Potter." the one with glasses said.
"Sirius Black." the other followed.
You were surprised, "You two almost seem like brothers, are you related? Cousins maybe?"
"I don't think so."
You were about to speak up when the train jerked forward and the whistle blew.
"Off to Hogwarts!" Sirius yelled, making Peter slightly jump.
"Well esteemed wizards and witch, I think we should celebrate!" James pulled an odd box from his jacket, he opened it, and pulled a few jelly beans out.
"Ooh!" Peter said, reaching for the caramel-y color one. He popped it in his mouth and began chewing; the other two boys looked at him with expecting looks. Peter softly smiled. "Creampuff." You noticed the look of relief on Sirius's and James's faces. You were confused.
"What flavors are there?"
The three boys looked at you with equal looks of confusion. "Have you never had Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans?"
You froze, "Yeah no."
"Have you been living under a rock?!" Sirius said, flinging his hands up.
"No, I just."
Peter, with a much softer voice, spoke "Muggle-born?"
"Yea."
The boys looked at each other and left out an 'Ah' in unison. You frowned slightly, "Does this mean we can't be friends."
"No no!" James started, "It just means that we get to witness your first taste of wizard candy! Which is exciting!" He dug in the box and pulled out a red jelly bean and handed it to you. You, not wanting to seem like a loser, put it in your mouth and started chewing as Peter did. You gagged and began fanning your mouth.
"I think it's hot sauce!" you screeched. It wasn't that you disliked hot sauce but by itself? It was foul and it burned.
Sirius handed you a bottle of pink liquid, and you hesitated, "Is it going to turn me into a... flamingo?"
"No, it's just strawberry soda." he said, giggling at you. You chugged it, the burn in your mouth slowly going away.
You handed him the empty bottle and began laughing along. It must've been kinda funny to see you act like that. You heard a voice from the doorway, you looked to see another boy, You stood up and opened the door.
"Hey, Um, Can I sit with you guys? I was sitting alone and I heard you all laughing and it sounded... fun?" He shyly said. You looked at him, he had a few scars on his face but he had really kind eyes that looked sort of like honeyed tea. You liked honey tea and that's why you let him in the compartment. You scooted over to the window so he could sit between you and James.
It was an hour or so later and the compartment had calmed down. Peter was reading a book, Sirius had his legs propped up on Peter's lap and James was playing with his wand.
You quietly looked at the boy who was picking at the skin on his fingernails. You couldn't stop looking at him, he just looked so cool. You jumped when his eyes met yours. He opened his mouth to say something but you interrupted.
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to stare." you said quietly as if that would make it better. He smiled.
"No, I was just going to say thank you."
Somehow that made it worse, you felt your cheeks turning red out of embarrassment. "O-oh. You're welcome! I never asked your name?"
"Remus." He said you told him yours in response and he reached into his pocket, he pulled out a single chocolate bar.
"That isn't going to explode or anything? Right?"
He grinned, "Not all sweets are dangerous. It's just chocolate." he broke you off a piece and handed it to you
You smiled back and dug in your pocket and pulled out a small bag, you opened it and handed him a small square of yours. He looked at it, confusion growing.
"It's toffee."
"Oh!"
"What goes best with toffee?"
"Chocolate."
You were spriting it through the hall, blowing by so many students and ghosts as you took a hard left and ran to the library. Only once you got to the door did you stop to breathe. You had requested a book and you had received an owl that it was returned to the library; You walked to the front desk and calmly asked where you could find it. After the librarian told you what section it was in you quickly walked to it, just as you lifted your hand to grab the book, another and lifted. You looked at who it was and you saw a shorter, red-haired girl.
She looked back at you, looking you up and down. "I know you."
"You do?" You've never seen this girl, at least you thought you didn't but she looked kinda...
"You hang out with James Potter and his friends that bully Severus."
Oh shit.
"Oh, yea... You're Lilian, right?"
"Lily."
"Oh sorry. Well, do you need that book?"
"No, I was just going to pick it up for some reading. Do you need it?"
"Yeah, I wanted to add some more notes to my transfiguration notes. You know, can't be too prepared."
She smiled at you, "You're a lot nicer than your friends."
"Oh I have my moments but thank you."
"Could you ask them to lay off Severus? They think they are funny but they are just being mean."
"I make no promises but I will try my best."
"Thank you and here's your book."
You smiled as she walked away. She was kind of right.
You were walking back to your common room when you bumped into someone. You dropped your book and yelped slightly.
"Oh I am so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going!" You stammered as you stooped down to pick up your book. You stood back up to see the boy you'd just been talking about: Severus Snape. You smiled at him.
"I wasn't watching where I was going either." He said, looking down.
You softly sighed, "Well, I will be heading off. Oh! and remember, we got potions homework." you said as you walked down the hall.
Before you knew it, you were already packing up to return home. It was bittersweet. Your parents hadn't written you a lot of letters since they were mildly scared of the owls as your mother had read somewhere that they rip their prey apart with their claws and she had a thing about dead animals. You flicked your wand and your books began to float into the last trunk, you then swiped it and saw as your luggage and loose books shrunk. You scooped them up and put them in your tote you had gotten from Sirius during Christmas. You smiled as you thought back to opening gifts with them in the Great Hall: Peter and James were having a pumpkin juice chugging contest, Sirius was trying to unwrap the gits perfectly and you and Remus were playing a calm game of wizards chess.
"That was a dick move." he said as your bishop swiped his last knight off the board.
"That's wizards chess," you said smugly.
You smiled, even more, when you picked up the picture from your nightstand; it was from that Christmas and it was moving, you loved magic. James and Sirius were lifting Peter, you lifted your leg up as Remus crouched to the ground and threw up a peace sign; you all were laughing and you could watch the image twirl and move for hours but you didn't have them. You put it in the tote bag and walked out of your dorm, taking one last look at the dorm. You all had promised to write to each other and you had invited them to come to visit you after you made sure it was okay with your parents. You sighed as you closed the door. Til next year.
You smiled as you walked calmly through the brick wall this time. You sighed happily as you felt the steam of the train fill the area, you looked at it, still amazed by it. You heaved your trunk into the luggage car, helping a few other kids do theirs. Suddenly you felt an arm loop around your waist, lift you up, and spin you. You laughed as you knew who it exactly was: Sirius Black.
"Sirius!" you laughed as you flung your arms around him and hugged him. "You look great! Did the flea and tick shampoo help?"
"Surprisingly, yes. And you look absolutely lovely." Anyone else would have thought you two were lovers but you would literally throw up if he asked you out and he would rather swan dive off the Astronomy tower. You loved each other, but exclusively platonically. You had eyes elsewhere. You walked with him til you saw a familiar pair of socks.
"Lookie Lookie, James and...Lily! Oh my god!" you ran to her and she stood up and grabbed your hands. You two started rambling about Elton John and the Revlon magazine you'd sent her last week. You and her had become best friends and you would stay up on the phone until there were marks on your fingers from twirling the phone chord. As you and Lily talked each other's ears off, Sirius had put your bag up for you and sat on the opposite bench opposite of James and Peter had found his way to the car from yours and Lily's high-pitched squeals. You stopped when you heard a voice. You whirled around and there he was! Remus Lupin! You jerked him in the car and you let him have it.
“You literally didn't write me back and I was tempted to track you down and throw rocks through your damn window," you said, making swift motions with your hands. “I will do it!”
"I missed you too." He said, making you stop in your tracks.
"I missed you and next summer, write me back or I will be under your bed when you go to sleep and that is a damn threat."
Your friends were chuckling; you and Remus playfully argued like this all the time. You pulled him down to sit with you and Sirius, who was digging in his bag. "I brought a little deja vu with me." The black haired boy pulled out a box of these infamous Jelly Beans. You could almost feel your mouth tingle.
"Who wants one?" he asked. Of course, Peter reached for some. He, Remus and Lily always had the better luck out of the six of you. The worst flavour Peter had gotten was raw flour, Remus hated liquorice and Lily's worst flavour was cheese which wouldn't have been the worst but she is lactose intolerant and even the taste of dairy products makes her gag. Yours was shoe polish, James ate a spoiled milk-flavoured one and turned an odd shade of green, Sirius had once gotten shampoo and you all made jokes about how his mouth needed it.
You shook your head no as you reached into your pocket and pulled out toffee pieces and handed them to Remus. '"Don't think I've forgotten."
He took them and handed you a small box of chocolate. Every year, you exchanged toffee and chocolate in memory of the first time you met. This time, it was Remus that was staring at you. You had such a pretty smile, a beautiful laugh and enchanting eyes that seemed to sparkle when you started talking about what you did over the summer. You grabbed your wand from your pocket and took out a lipstick. "Lily, Check this out. I may have doomed the lipstick economy. Colorvaria" You lifted your wand and flicked it. The red colour changed to pale pink, you said it again and it turned a plum shade.
Everyone was pleasantly surprised at this, lily reached for the lipstick and pulled out a compact mirror and put it on. “Is it my color?”
“Yeah!” You started rambling about how with Lily’s complexion it was perfect. Remus continued to stare at you, James, Sirius and Peter noticed.
“Hey Remus, what’s got you all smiley?”
Remus looked at his friends with a shocked look, “Just excited for Hogwarts.” He stammered out. They picked up on it. They knew. He knew that they knew. God damnit.
Pretty soon the compartment had fallen quiet. Peter was gently snoring as he laid head up against the window, James and Lily were holding hands as Lily was using her free one to do a crossword, making her requests for words the only peaceful noise besides the train clanging and whispers of other people in other carts. Sirius had put his legs, that were too long for the rest of his body over you and he was making an god awful choking sound as he slept.
Despite this, sleep was clouding your eyes. You were side eyeing the book Remus was reading, it wasn’t a text book, it was poetry.
“Rem, could you read one out loud?” You softly asked, not trying to disturb the others, like Sirius wasn’t. He looked at you, he hadn’t noticed you reading along.
He cleared his throat as he tired the page, slowly and softly began reading “When your kiss hovers on my lips, and each of my nerves trembles, when your cheek lies hot on my cheek, and your breast clings to mine,” He stopped when he realized the subject matter. He looked to you and saw your head bobbing in sleep. He looked to James, who gave him a thumbs up and made a motion for him to move your head. Remus, although terribly confused, gently pushed your head to his shoulder.
James looked at Lily and smiled. They had a new job; getting the two of you together and they were already making progress. Remus looked out the window before shutting his book and gently plopping it down in his bag, he laid his head back against the wall and began trying to fall asleep.
You were walking through the hall, re-reading the chapter you had just gone over in Advanced Charms. Your N.E.W.T classes were a lot harder than you’d expected. You knew you could do it though because the more you read it, the more it began to click. You heard two familiar laughs which made you look up and you were not disappointed. James Potter was walking down the hall and Cousin It was right beside him, holding on to his arm. You stifled a laugh and asked what had happened.
“Well now we know that if we ever need help with potions, Sirius could help.” James said, trying to push some hair out of Sirius’s face.
“I bet it was Snivilius. It wasn’t my fault I got shoved in that class with him.”
You scoffed, “Maybe it wasn’t him and what were you trying to brew anyways?”
“Alihosty something.”
James shook his head, “It was supposed to cause spontaneous laughter, but it gave him spontaneous hair extensions.”
Sirius flung his head back, “How am I supposed to impress the cuties when I look like a fuzzy Christmas tree? It’s a crime against humanity… those poor lads and ladies. They will go through Sirius withdrawal!”
“Okay Okay, Drama King.” You pulled out your wand, “If you end up totally bald, my bad. Calvirio.” You said swishing your wand in a zigzag. The hair seemed to retract back into his face and body til he had slightly shorter hair than before, no stubble that he had been trying to grow out and part of right his eye brow was rather thin but it was a definite improvement. You put your wand back in your pocket as Sirius as he ran to a mirror.
“No! Dave!” Sirius yelled as he slumped down the wall, fake crying.
“Dave?”
“He named his ‘beard’” James said, doing air quotes.
“Ah…” You sighed.
“Where were you going?” James asked, “Me, Sirius, Peter and Remus got a free period though, it isn’t really free.”
You laughed, any spare time was spent studying and practicing for your classes. “Well, Remus had promised to study with me in the library. So that’s where I was heading until I ran into you and swamp thing.” You smiled pointing at Sirius, who was really try to see if one eye brow was thinner.
“Oh? Well, I guess we’ll let you head on.” He said, walking to Sirius and grabbing him by the cloak hood. You playfully rolled your eyes and sighed as you walked off to the library.
After you were out of sight, James shoved Sirius in a closet and turned to him.
“Alright, we all know Remus has a thing for her, right?”
“Right?”
“So…” James started hoping Sirius would catch on. Sirius looked at him, few thoughts being thinked behind his eyes. “Oh my god… is there a word for a male bimbo?” James sighed. “We, Me, Peter and you, help them to get together.”
“Why does Peter come before me?”
“What?”
“In the order you listed, Peter came before me. “
“You’re the most jealous man I know.”
“Other men?! James Potter!” Sirius joked. At that moment they heard their short blonde friend, whistling down the hall. They threw out their arms and jerked him into the small closet.
“Bloody hell! What is wrong with you two?” He shouted, grasping at his chest as if he had a heart attack.
“We need you in on this plan, Peter. So we all know who Remus likes and I am eighty percent sure she likes him too. They are perfect for each other and they need our help realizing it.” James stated.
“I mean yeah they obviously like each other but I really don’t know… shouldn’t we wait for them to come together on their own?”
Sirius scoffed, “James and Lily would have great-grand children by then. Somethings just need a shove in motion like that muggle science guy says about like gravy.”
“Gravity.” Peter corrected.
“Of this situation? Astronomical.”
Peter opened his mouth to correct him again but James just held up his hand and shook his head, making Peter close his mouth.
“Well, first things first, we need out of here.” Sirius said, flinging open the door and promptly hitting someone in the face.
“Damn!” Remus yelped, grabbing his face, he looked up to yell at who ever came out of the but was very confused when he saw his friends. “Uh, hi guys.”
“Remi-Semi-Demi-Fi-Fo Fimmy! We got some ideas!” Sirius said, walking and looping his arm around Remus
“What are they and what happened to your eye brow?”
Sirius whimpered and turned to James, “You said it wasn’t that bad.”
“Remus! You didn’t tell us you had a study date!”
He looked confused then he remembered, “Oh, well it is not a date. She and I are just studying and working on a… special assignment.”
“Kissing isn’t a special assignment.”
Remus whacked James across the head with a book, making him recoil, “We are not, have not and will not be kissing in the library.”
Peter piped up, “So you’ve done it other places.” Awarding himself a hit with the book as well.
Remus huffed, “Even if we did, it is not your all business!”
“She’s our friend and so are you. So it kind of is.” Sirius pointed out.
Remus scowled at Sirius, “What makes you all think I like her like that anyway?”
James threw up his hands, “I don’t know man. You carry her books, walk her to the Hufflepuff common room door, you always sit beside her and you always come so close to holding her hand. “
Sirius joined in, “Then there’s the matching necklaces, Honey Duke's outings, staring holes through her and you look so pissed when anyone that’s attractive talks to her.”
Peter was the last, “You only share food with her, you sometimes blow us off to go sit near her but not talk to her and you pretty much stalk her.”
They all had points, Remus sighed. He looked at his friends, “Listen, I like her, I like her a lot but we all know it won’t work.”
“Remus, she wouldn’t judge you. She’s very sweet and good-natured. If anything, she’ll find it unfair and she’d be sad for you.” Sirius said, rubbing Remus’s shoulder as the group began walking.
“I just- What if she doesn’t? What if she’s scared of me after?”
“I don’t think that would happen.” Peter said, trying to comfort him.
“Do you all really think that?”
“Have we ever lied to you about something like this?” James asked.
“No. No, you all haven’t.”
James turned to walk backwards as he looked at his friend, “She’s your friend too. There’s nothing she won’t understand if you sit down and explain it to her.”
Remus smiled, he was lucky to have such good friends but unlucky that they were so pushy he thought about you and he couldn’t help but smile. He really liked you and he couldn’t deny that you made him so happy. He often sang softer songs with you, he and you made a secret code, you had been in each other’s common rooms and you often took late-night walks up to the Astronomy Tower and stayed there for hours.
"Alright, what is the plan?" he asked, accepting defeat.
James clapped his hands together, "Okay, so you and her are going to be in the library. We are going to be far enough away to where she can't see us, we will cast Muffilato so no one besides us can hear, in case it goes south. Then you are going to finesse her, get her to be your girlfriend and then Bam! Wedding bells in the future!"
Remus didn't think it was a good plan but it was better than what he could come up with in five minutes.
Sirius asked a question, "So what is the special assignment you and her are working on?"
Remus grinned a mischievous grin, "Well, we all know the fear of being caught when we pull a prank, right? We have figured out a way to prevent that."
The boys were intrigued, "What is it?"
Remus looked around before speaking, "A map. It will tell us where everyone is, every minute of every day."
They smiled, "So it's like a prize for when we get the two of you together?" Peter said.
"In a way."
Remus rolled his eyes, "It isn't a carnival game."
Your quill was working away as you quietly read off some notes and ideas you were gathering from a book you had picked up on Transfiguration. You flipped the pages when you heard the door to your far left open, you hoped it was Remus as he was ten minutes late. You were right as you saw the boy look for you. You gently whistled to catch his attention. He saw you and rushed over and sat down. You smiled.
"So what was keeping you?"
"Oh just the boys."
You snickered, "Did you see Sirius earlier?"
"No? Why?" he asked, wondering why you were laughing. You went on to tell him about a muggle TV show you watched with your mother during October called the Addams Family and how Sisirus was giving a character called Cousin It a run for his money.
"It's a very interesting show because it is a sort of reversal of the Nuclear Family."
"The what?"
"Oh, it's an idea from the fifties that was really solidified during The Cold War between Russia and The United States. It consists of a mother, a father, and two children. the mother stays a housewife and the father is the sole provider and income for the family. It isn't a bad thing but the obsession they had and still kinda have with it was weird."
"So you don't want a family?" Remus asked.
"Oh no, I want a family but I've always thought about a bigger one and two incomes will always be better than one." You said, changing the piece of parchment from under the quill, and you handed it to Remus. He wasn't paying attention as he thought about it.
"What is the ideal number? For you personally?"
"Three. Three is the best number out there. Beginning, Middle, End. Everything has three parts to it." then you remembered the previous conversation and turned slightly red, "Well, even numbers are... Good." you internally cursed yourself for being this damn awkward.
He has started copying your notes, "Well... Have you thought about what you want to do in the future?"
You thought for a moment, "I would love to open a store in Diagon Alley."
"What kind of store?"
You grinned, "The Store Of Muggle Wonders."
You talked about your time back at home as if it was a dream which is why Remus thought of the next question; "Do you get homesick?"
You were slightly stunned, "I guess... I really miss my Mom. She's alone when I'm not there. Like she has friends and everything but she writes me and she tells me she misses me. She isn't trying to make me feel guilty but I end up feeling like it. Especially during fall, she would make apple cider and I could smell it from my bedroom and we'd have cider and scones." you went on a little longer talking about your life and Remus just listened. He was very good at that.
"Well, It is almost Christmas, you'll get to see her." He comforted.
You smiled, "She is asking if... My friends would like to come and visit her. She's very curious about everything."
Remus couldn't help a huge grin that spread across his face, you told your mother about him? Well him and the rest of the boys. "I would love to."
You smiled as you lifted up the book and showed it to him, you began pointing out the incantations to Remus. You were a great study partner: You not only focused on what you struggled with but you made sure to point out and help the people you were studying with. You once had pestered the daylight out of Slugghorn for extra potions notes when you heard peter groan slightly at his homework.
Speaking of Peter, He was currently peering out from behind a bookshelf as James lifted Sirius up onto the top of the bookshelf. Sirius, under the Invisibility cloak, slowly pulled out his wand to dim the exact light you two were under and get down, he then handed the cloak to James, who was finishing writing the guide for Remus. He slipped it on and gently walked to the table, put down the letter, and tapped Remus's foot to get him to notice it. Remus looked at you, you were ranting about how unclear the book was and how on earth did they expect you to understand this. He quicked reached to pick it up and open it.
"One: Gently get her attention. Two: Compliment (Must Be genuine, girls know, man, they know.) Three: Look at her and smile. Four: Genuine compliment on something she has input in (i;e her nail polish (Have ever really seen her without it?) grades, specific interest or family) Five: As If single. Six: Ask if you can hold her hand or go for it. Seven: talk more while holding hands. Eight: When you get up to leave, offer to carry her things. Nine: Open the door for her. Ten: Gently lean in to kiss her."
It was a lot simpler in theory. There was still something eating at his mind. He interrupted you, "Do you know about werewolves?"
"Yes?"
"What you would do, if like, one of us was a werewolf?"
You thought for a moment, "Well, I would be... I would feel scared for them. From what I've read and been told, almost all of them don't want to be werewolves. Werewolves are very discriminated against and the discrimination has put them in positions that make it harder for them to help their condition. It's a vicious cycle. Why do you ask?"
He felt his throat begin to close up around his words, he just looked at you until he saw it click behind your eyes. He waited for you to start screaming but that never happened. Instead, your hand went over to his and gently laid on top of his. He took your hand in his as he felt like he was about to cry. You were so kindhearted: he would have gotten it if you had accepted just him but you denounced the treatment of all.
"Hey... There is something else. I get it if you don't feel the same way but I really lik-"
"I like you too!" you practically yelled. You slapped your hand over your mouth before turning a violent red. He started to chuckle, which made you playfully huff. "You are so so mean to me."
"Only you."
You squeezed his hand tighter before checking your watch, "One last class. Are you ready?" You said, briefly. He shook his head before collecting his things.
"They are getting up! Do you think they are gonna do it?" Peter asked the two boys. They had made a piggyback tower to observe the two of you.
"I hope so, I wanna know what the geniuses have been cooking up." Sirius said.
James shushed them.
You walked to the door and you turned to tell him something when he put his hand on your face and gently pulled your face to his, planting a soft but long-awaited kiss. You smiled as he pulled back but were shocked when you heard three loud cheers. You jerked your head to see your three idiots beside a bookshelf. You turned to Remus, who was looking down, slightly ashamed. You grinned to yourself as you, grabbed him by the waist, spun him, and dramatically kissed him. You gently dropped him as you opened the door and walked out. Remus was laying on the floor, surprised and very happy. He sat up and looked to his friends. Your lipstick had smudged onto the side of his mouth and on his face.
You were now his only study buddy and the only person he'd accept notes from.
You felt a few tears roll down your cheeks as you sat in the great hall in your fancy robes. You looked to the far left and saw the entire student body of Gryffindor House to your left, you scanned for them, only seeing Sirius as you we supposed to stand by the last name and alphabetically. He was smiling so brightly, white teeth glowing almost. You sighed as you looked forward. Each house had chosen a person to speak as a representative and for Hufflepuff, it was you.
You clapped as the Ravenclaw boy finished his and turned to return to his seat. You heard your name called so you stood up as the applause came from the houses, more so Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. You smiled as you walked up to the podium.   "Today, we are leaving these halls as students. It's bittersweet since we are all excited and happy to have made it but sad to leave the place that has become our home. Home is where your heart is and my heart has never found a better place. I plan on being back as a Professor and I hope to see a few of you do the same." you looked and eventually saw James who gave you a thumbs up.
"Now, I know we all want to cheer and say our last goodbyes but I have a few people I would like to thank. First, I would like to thank my best friend, Lily Evans." She looked up and smiled as you looked at her. "She has been the dearest friend anyone could ask for. Gryffindor's house stands for several things and I see now why the Sorting Hat chose her: Her nerve. She will never let you down, she finds her purpose and she finds good in all she does and all she befriends.”
You smiled as a small round of applause rang for Lily. “Second, I would like to talk about a significant friend group who we all know. James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. We have all had an encounter with them…”
You were outside, watching the snow when you heard a whoosh and felt a strong breeze that blew your hair and pages of your book. You huffed as you looked up to see James flying off in his broom. He looped around the tower and came back. He landed beside you, “Whatcha reading?”
“It’s a book on herbology.”
He raised his eyebrow, “Didn’t you already pass that class like years ago?”
“I did."
His eye glowed under his snowflaked eyelashes, "Do you wanna take a spin?" he asked, hand extended. You sighed as you closed your book and put it in your tote bag. You knew he wasn't going to let it go if you didn't. He grabbed your hand, dragged you to his still-hovering broom, and helped you onto it. He sat in front of you and pushed off a little too fast for your liking. You let out a loud screech as he blew through the sky, quickly making the courtyard where you reading shrink in size. You began to laugh as he weaved in and out of the bridge columns and did terrifying tricks. James Potter was very wild but he was the purest embodiment of fun.
You wiped off the flour from your face as you coughed. You looked down at the rat that had run into your apron pocket and grinned, "Well Pete... Now we know not to do that." you started laughing as you pulled him out and dusted him off before sitting him on the ground. Slowly he changed back into the short man you were used to.
"That was a fail," he said as he pulled out his wand to clean the mess. "You just had to use that muggle contraption."
"You mean a hand mixer?" you said, looking at the turquoise mixer that was covered in flour and cocoa. You started laughing.
He looked at you, confused til he saw what you were laughing at. Tiny footprints in the flour were made before he ducked for cover.
You pulled a bin to the counter before sweeping the flour into it. You and Peter were the most trusting, which led you both to some pain but when it was with each other, you both knew you'd be safe.
You held on to Sirius’s shirt with a shaky hand, you jumped at every noise, making you tighten your grip. You looked at Sirius, he didn’t seem scared as he held his lantern. You were completely terrified of the dark but you would never admit it but Sirius was clued in from how violently you were clutching to his sleeve. He stopped and looked at you. "Nothing in the dark isn't in there in the light."
"It isn't about that."
You scowled at the boy who had gotten you dentition. He smiled as he looked around.
"It's rather peaceful if you just g-" he opened the lantern and blew out the light, making you yelp.
"Sirius-" he put his hand over your mouth
"Shh, just listen."
You pulled his hand off your face and looked around. Slowly you heard soft twinkling and buzzing. You saw dainty pink sparkles swirl around as Sirius grabbed your hand, leading you closer, quietly stepping. Eventually, the two of you came to what appeared to be a fairy dance party. You both gently sat down and watched them.
He looked at you, "I take back what I said, some things are not there in the light. But that doesn't mean they're bad."
You were wadding in the cold water, focused on the plants when you heard your name, You looked at saw Remus waving and walking at you. You smiled and waved back. Remus came to find you to ask you a very important question.
"Hey Rem, what's up?" you asked as you bent to pick up a purplish plat that smelled awful. You walked to the edge where you had put your jars and grabbed one to put it in.
He just watched you for a minute before asking the question, "We... We've been together for two years."
"Yes, best two years ever... Why?"
He walked closer to the bank and sat down, slowly taking off his shoes. "I just, I am wondering if you still... like me?"
You sighed lightly, "Remus, If I didn't like you, I wouldn't have put up with you for two years."
"Am I that bad?" he asked, lighter in his voice. He put his feet into the cold water before jerking them back lightly, the water was freezing, it felt as if the ice had barely thawed. "Damn, that's cold, how are you not frozen?"
"I got used to it and no, no you're not." you said dipping your hand back down into the water.
He watched you feel around blindly for a moment til he asked another question, "What are we going to do after graduation?"
"Well, I am going to study to be a professor like you said I should."
"What are you going to teach? Herbology?"
"No, No. This is a hobby. I was going to go for potion but the potions classroom gives me the creeps. Maybe I could do Muggle Studies."
"You'd be perfect."
You laughed, "Pretty much an expert on it! What are you going to do?"
He looked down, "I don't know... Options are limited for people like me."
You frowned lightly, "Rem, I think you'd be a good professor. You said a few months ago that you would love to teach Defense Against The Dark Arts."
"But-"
"There are few people good enough to teach and you are one. Please, at least try."
He looked up at you, "Fine. Though, way back when, you said something about opening a shop and that sounded lovely."
You opened another jar to scoop up some mud, "Yeah. I thought about that too. A book store. We could sell books and coffees for the people that stayed to read their books."
"A Cafe Bookstore," he said looking out across the lake at the sun slowly dipping down over the mountains. "Together."
"Forever." You stepped out of the lake and grabbed your shoes, you put them on. They were your lake shoes anyway.
You looked down at him, "I love you." you said, without thinking.
He looked up at you, eyes glowing. "I love you more." he stood up and grabbed your jar-filled bag.
"I love you most."
"Oh, I love you so much more than most."
It was a playful contest all the way up to the castle.
You were now walking in the train compartment, tears in your eyes. You and your friends talking in hushed whispers. It was supposed to be a happy day but there had been a terrible accident in James's hometown. You all knew there was a war, it weighed heavily on your minds but never had it been so close to one of your front doors.
"What should we do?" Lily asked, hand on James's shoulder.
"Obviously we join the fight," Sirius said, matter-of-factly.
"Are you sure it's a good idea? Aren't they close to stopping it anyway?" Peter said.
Sirius rolled his eyes, "How do you know that? Besides, we can't just... Ignore it."
Remus shook his head, "We should at least try to help. In any way that we can. We may not have to actually fight."
"I am not going to be a pathetic cowardly spy!" Sirius snapped.
"It isn't about you!" Remus snapped back.
"Stop fighting the both of you," James said sternly. He looked at all his friends. "I say we join," he looked around and shut the door, "Think for a minute, they are expecting older wizards. We go and fight and they'll never suspect us."
"What about our families?" you said. You looked at them, "Don't they need us?"
Sirius scoffed, "No."
James shook his head.
Peter just looked at the ground and fidgeted.
Remus looked at you, he knew what you really meant: You were scared of bringing your mother into this.
Lily had a similar fear. "She has a point. Though, I think it would be best to prevent it from getting to them by fighting."
Remus slipped his hand into yours. "Lily is right. Peter?"
Everyone looked at the short blonde, he sighed, "Alright."
Sirius slapped his hands together, "Let's go kick some ass!"

Exchanging Books with Remus
Tumblr media
It all started when you read your favorite book to Remus and he happened to love it too
Ever since then, you two would pick out a book every month that you’d swap then by the end of the month you two would discuss about the books you exchanged
James and Sirius would often tease you two since it’s your little thing
”Aaw, look at you two, on a reading date.”
”Two lovebirds swapping books, I bet there secret messages hidden inside.”
”Sod off James, use all your energy to annoy Lily instead.”
On days after his transformations, you would always stay by his side at the hospital wing and read to him
He’d always be sure to share his thoughts real time
“That was stupid of him.”
”Rem, I’m sure it serves a greater purpose.”
”Still. It’s a stupid decision.”
