OLD RAVENSWOOD
The skeleton of what used to be, Old Ravenswood is a smaller town that was formed well before Blackwater developed. It is from the ashes of Ravenswood that Blackwater was able to form and to this day, no one fully knows what caused the now abandoned little town to fall apart. An eerie silence has taken over the once lively town, the only interruption of the quiet being that of the abundant wildlife that have claimed the area as their own.
Front porches lay barren, save the occasional porch swing still intact, the rusted chains squeaking ever so softly in the wind. What was once most likely a welcoming sight has been replaced by a sense of unease. Paint has started to crumble from the walls being replaced by rogue plants and vines worming their way up the inside of infrastructures, threatening to swallow them whole. Roofs have fallen in from lack of maintenance and care, the road into the town torn to pieces by the elements, nature reclaiming the land. Grass and weeds fill the labyrinth of cracks that continue to creep their way through the broken roadways and sidewalks.
A forlorn view from the outside, the creatures surrounding the outskirts of Blackwater inhabit the parts that are livable, turning the barren town into their own personal playground.

ORGANIZATION PREVIEW
CHILDREN OF NEREUS
A faction of sirens that still practice The Old Ways of their species to please the Ocean God’s, and their father Nereus, the God of the Ocean's Bounty. The group believes that there will be dire consequences if they stop these methods, that Nereus will no longer provide the bounty that the ocean brings them, and strip the magic from the Grotto of Pan, leaving them powerless to the other species in the area. To accomplish this, they provide sacrifices to appease him with little regard to the beings used in the rituals. Led by Serena Donahue, a loyal follower of Nereus, this group consists of both male and female sirens, all of whom thrive on power and tend to hold a sense of entitlement over who they consider to be lesser beings.
Species: Sirens
Leader(s): Serena Donahue
Territory: Grotto of Pan

MURKWOOD MEADOWS
An open expanse bordered by the Halivar Mountain range and a thick forest of pines, Murkwood Meadows is a neutral ground for the werewolves of the region. With rolling hills, flowers and plenty of space to run, it's a safe haven for those that want to get away from the chaos of life for a little bit.
Like most territories that surround Blackwater, just be sure to be aware of your surroundings. You never know who might be lurking.

CRESCENT FORK RIVER
A sometimes unforgiving force of nature, the crescent twists and flows its way through the Halivar Mountain range, eventually feeding into Cerulean Falls. The river serves as a connection between numerous prominent landmarks throughout the wild outskirts of Blackwater. Considered neutral territory, you never know what creatures you might find lurking around along the banks, or hiding themselves away within the rocky terrain along the waters edge. north umpqua river, oregon

LAKE CHARON
Charon; ferryman of the dead.
Lake Charon sits high up in the Halivar Mountains, a good distance away from any trails that a typical hiking excursion might end up wandering into. The mountains stand silently, creating a wall of protection around the lake, and insuring that any unwelcome visitors have to cross perilous terrain to reach the shores of the lake itself.
At around 6 miles across at it's longest, and almost 2000 feet deep, there is more than enough room for mystery within the icy depths of this unique natural formation.
The island off the western shore houses an active volcano surrounded by an area of dense forest before it opens up to the shoreline. As the legend goes, this volcano is said to be a portal to Hell, and the waters surrounding it are cursed to claim all who enter into it. A few that have dared to make the trek over the mountain range have returned telling stories of a group of people who live on the island, though no one believes it to be true. How could humans survive in such an extreme and unstable environment?
