First Outdoor Live for Shuka and me: Saito Shuka 5th Anniversary Shuen 2024: Tenshi to Akuma no Sasayaki 👼😈

Gosh, how do I even begin…?

First, I just want to let everyone know how hot it was XD I’m already someone who sweats a lot and the heat from the Sun returning the same passionate feelings as us Shukajins and Shuka ;D was simply…! HOT!!

For Day 1 (17 August 2024, Saturday), I did not have the leeway of using my analog hand fan or the Aqours electronic fan I had on hand as I was finding my way around Saitama to get to Tobu Zoo where Shuka’s Live was being held.

As you all know, I was running late due to that! And it was also because I made the mistake of still wearing my watch – that made me think I still had time, but Japan is one hour ahead of Singapore! XD Gyaahh!

I feel like the guide Shuka and staff left about exiting from the North Exit and it being a 10 minutes walk to Tobu Zoo is…for people in the know XD and interestingly, the station itself had a paper put up guiding visitors to take the West exit! So well, I followed that instead.

I was already running late, I was attempted to follow guys that wore Converse shoes cos that’s a good way to guess that they are Shuka fans heading to her Live venue but because I was already late, I figured it’s not wise to follow random dudes in hopes they are going to the zoo XD So don’t worry, I didn’t. Instead, I went to the bus and asked the nice bus driver uncle if it goes to Tobu Zoo >v<

When I made it there, 2 lady staff was waiting in a tent and helped me put on the wrist band for the zoo pass and Shuka’s Live pass – thank you! Because I would’ve been stumbling to put it on (I was fumbling with it for Day 2 XD) The nice ladies then told me it’s another 15 mins to Shuka’s Live venue and I was like – “Ah, thank you.” On the outside. But inside my mind, I was like, “Ehhh!? Another 15 mins?! Even though I’m already late. Mouuuu!!” And I jogged and sped walk my way to the venue XD

The “good” thing of being late is that you get to be led to Shuka’s venue by her wonderful singing voice XD

I also like how when I ran past the attraction for a roller coaster ride that had tall stones with Egyptian carvings on it and some other horrific poster near it, I was like, “Yeah nope, turn right because no way Shuka’s Live venue is where something scary is XD” And it is the right way to continue on my way.

Speeding things up, because why would you want to know what else I saw on the way there, right? >v<``

When I neared the Live venue, that’s where you’ll see the Live Goods tent too. As I ran pass, I saw the merch I wanted sold out already so I was a bit sad but more importantly!! I could sense Shuka already XD Jogging in and slowing to a walk so as to not disturb anyone, I tried looking for my seat but it was like “BWAAHH!! AAHHH!! WOOO!!!” energy from lots of guys cheering so I was like “Never mind, I’ll stay at the back” XD

I joined in just as Shuka started the Devil Side of the Live!! (Courtesy to the Shukajin who made a set list record so I could fact check where I popped in >w<) So, it was where Shuka was singing “Baby Tell Me”!

But truth be told, I can barely remember how the song went cos I laid eyes on Shuka in her Devil themed outfit and I was just speechless, eyes glued to how amazing she looks and while I was amazed by her shining on stage and performing, I was very much constantly thinking about how good she looks in that outfit XD

You’ve seen the pics, you felt the same way! I bet on it!! XD Aahhhhhhh!!! >w<♡♡♡

Excuse me, Shuka-san?? I believe this was where I jumped a bit too much and knocked my knees against the long bench XD And Miyuki here didn’t even realize it until she’s back in the hotel later to see the bruises. I’m telling you, the hype and high and smiles you feel from being on cloud 9 after experiencing a Shuka Live let’s you not feel pain XD But adrenaline aside, I did apply my essential oil blend that soothes pain so I’m guessing that’s why I could still go all out for Day 2! HAHAHA!

*coughs coughs* Back to the Live!

Shuka performs Darake next, and you can bet the energy explodes even more because everyone was looking forward to the 555 songs?? At least I was!!!

ShuShuShu is next and I had my Ai no Yajirushi towel with me so I took it out to twirl for this towel song!! Towel songs are so funnnn~ (I’ve been a fan of towel songs since μ's Mermaid Festa Vol.2, and have been looking forward to any towel songs. SO, I thoroughly enjoyed Shuka’s one too!!)

Mata Ashita was the next song. I vaguely remember me swinging my hands along to it >v<

I don’t remember where the MC part takes place, but I’m going to assume here where she had performed a bunch of songs already. Shuka mentions how she posted about her having a sore throat and that made everyone worry so she apologizes and reassures us that she is alright and in fact, super energetic >w< She’s adorable when showing how energetic she is. >w<

I felt that her sore voice wasn’t obvious in her singing which is really cool. Other than when she performed “Mikata”, that one was when you hear some scratchiness in her singing voice. Ah, and when she talked, that was when her scratchy voice was obvious.

Shuka calls out the dancers called “Gyaruz” to introduce them and that’s when a cute moment happens cos Shuka starts asking her band members if she forgot to introduce them XD Usually the flow would be to introduce her band members first! And so, her band members told her Shuka did forget and she was a little in denial about that like “I forgot?? Ehh? I forgot??” XD Too cute. And then she introduces each of them!

Shukajin then goes: “You forgot something!”

Shuka: “Mm?”

Shukajin: “Vocalist?”

Shuka smiles, “And the vocalist is Saito Shuka.”

And we all clap and cheer for her!! >w</

Somewhere in between the MC part is a conversation where Shuka makes a cute noise with her scratchy voice too and it was extra adorable. I think it might be where she was asking her band member if she forgot to introduce them? I don’t remember exactly, I just know she was adorable XD That voice was hnnggg XD

Oh, and Shuka asks if we got hit by the water she shot. And the reaction was… “Yes!!!” and she apologizes that only some got hit by the water? XD

I… …also remember Shuka saying that we have now seen Angel Shuka, Devil Shuka and now that she is wearing the Live Tee she is Real Shuka! (which is the purple coloured Tenshi to Akuma no Sasayaki t-shirt but cut up and redesigned into a different fashionable way which allows Shuka to show off her midriff when she dances >//w//< paired with her jeans-shorts. You know, now that I’ve reminisced to here, I wonder if Shuka performed One Piece and Kutsuhimo first before the MC part >v<``

Because, when wanting to lead into a song, birthday bgm plays by the band member and the Gyaruz girls help to bring out the birthday cake and we all sang “Happy Birthday” to Shuka!! >w<7 It’s always so fun singing it to her hehe~

Shuka sneaks some to eat and from there is where it became picture-taking time!!

I love how everyone sat down and Shuka was like, “If you sit, we can’t see you!”

Then, some of us stood up again. And Shuka continues to say, “Ah, but it’s okay, we can take a proper picture later.”

That leaves us lost as to whether we should sit or stand XD So some was sitting, some was standing XD

The photo gets taken and we go on to have Shuka perform the final song Mikata.

Shuka thanks everyone after, running to the sides of the stage and back to the middle to bow, the Gyaruz and band members join her to join hands and bow to us too…

It’s always such a bittersweet feeling when the Live ends. And as she’s going back stage, she waves to us, smiles, bows, all of that. It doesn’t take long for her to disappear behind but it’s kind of slow motion in my memory…=v=

And once you hear the electronic announcer voice says it’s the end of Shuka’s Live, that’s when we clap real hard again and then start to disperse. :>

I was at the back so I just made sure to drink more water, wipe my sweat, take a photo of stage and the Sun shining through the ferris wheel to us. 😊I then bumbled my way over to the goods tent and checked what else is selling. Although the t-shirt and keychains were sold out already, the hood towel was still available! So I went to buy one >v</ (LITERALY NO REGRETS FOR THIS BUY. More about it in Day 2 gushings :P)

Aaaand, the next part of the tent is where they are selling Shuka CDs and whatnot, I already have all her CDs so I didn’t buy anything from there, so onto the third section of the goods tent, there was where a staff would give out a postcard with Shuka at a spot in Tobu Zoo where the bears are at! Super cute picture UwU Alongside the Stamp Rally card and he stamps Day 1 on it! The tiger is so cuteeeee!!! Look at her!! >w<

Beside that booth, is a present box where we can put our gifts to Shuka there. So, I took out my gift for her and placed it gently inside ^w^ From what I noticed, I think not many knew if there will be a present box cos I think there was less than 5 presents including mine XD While on Day 2, I believe I spotted a bit more presents in the box XD I hope Shuka loves the present I chose for her!! \>w</ Woof woof!

(Gosh, I’m making you all read so many words. There’s no way y’all are reading all these, right? XD To you who read all the way to here. Thank you. And I hope you’re smiling as much as I am while writing these~ ^w^)

~ DAY 2 ~

The Summer heat was high. I am early at Tobu Zoo this time because I don’t want to miss a single second of her Live. I won’t go into details of the fun before the performance but just so you know, it’s so awesome that our Live ticket already includes full access to the zoo and amusement park attractions! ^w^

Now…

It’s really hot and I kid you not. I was grateful for any natural wind and not natural wind that blew our way. When it was time to enter the space where the Live will be though, there was no natural wind there and my Aqours electric fan of course decided “I’ve worked hard for you for HOURS now. Time to rest…zzz…” [cue my shocked face XD] But it’s okay!! It’s like minutes to the start of Tenshi to Akuma no Sasayaki Day 2!!! I’ll just keep wiping this sweat and hydrating—

AHHH!! When the music changes to like a storm is brewing and SOMETHING IS COMING…!! And the band members come out!! I love them, by the way. We all love Shuka so we’re here but her band members just feel like family or super good friends already (to Shuka) so the feeling of cheering for them is sincere and excited~ >v<

And then, and then, there was this mash up of Shuka songs too…That one made me feel like if there was a montage playing too of Shuka’s growth, that’d be so cool too. But just hearing the songs mashed together like that… It evoked that feeling already and the scenes of MV to Shuka Live performances played in my mind too anyways—

HYAAAA!! From that, THE wedding-like music starts playing and, I think the backup dancers were already around and I was doing my best to absorb all that was happening. (Oh, also there were a bunch of tall guys so I had to tiptoe to see Shuka XD) But it’s all worth it when I saw Shuka in her Angel form which was this outfit like a wedding dress. Miyuki mind: CHOTTO MATTE EEEHHHHHHH?? KAWAIIIIIIIII!!! HOLD ON. WHAT, HOW, WHY, SHUKA?? >w<

I was smiling widely and fangirling hard inside XD And she starts singing Aishiteshimaeba. I love this song a lot too but because of being caught up in the moment…? I totally forgot Shuka’s Live performances are extra fun with the dance moves she came up for us to dance along with her XD So when this super enthusiastic fan beside me did the moves – I was like OH YEAH, THERE WAS THAT. WAHHH. And tried to mimic and dance along the best I could >v< I kept remembering how Shuka told us she wants us to not be shy and be cute for this song so I focused back on seeing her perform on stage and did my best for the moves where I can remember XD

PaPaPa is the next song. And this is one of her super hyped songs too. Understandable considering how fun it is and one of her early songs too! >v< So, as someone who usually play the blurays at home and cheer with my hands/light sticks, I forgot again that there’s like claps and other things the at-the-venue fans do XD I feel like I’m being too focused on this because of the enthusiastic and loud fan beside me but I’m not opposed to learning the fan moves in the first place! I especially like the Love Live! ones after all :P So well, I was trying to follow along…again… XD

P.S. It feels good to be praised by Shuka when you pull off the moves so it pays off? >w<

PiPiPi next!!! I loooooove this song a lot >v< Maybe it’s because I love old school things but the lyrics having “antenna” in it just makes me smile so much XD And and, it’s such a cute song?? And thus, I didn’t forget the dance moves for this one XD I can’t even explain how adorable Shuka looks throughout this song as she sings and dance it… I’m sorry for my lack of vocabulary for it… But just imagine that…that megawatt smile, glowing not just from the stage lighting but from the Sun and her angelic form?? That’s how it was from my POV… TvT

Here comes the new song from her 555 album! And yes, it’s PuPuPu!!! MEANING SHE JUST CHAINED THE PAPAPA-PIPIPI-PUPUPU SONGS!!! That’s such a cool thing to do, right!? *O* And I love this song from her new mini album!! It’s peppy, it’s fun, it’s cute, it tells a story of friendship when two argues and how they care about the other, and understands the other too, and how they make up and it’s all good again. >v<♡♡♡ I know I had the biggest, silly smile as I watched her sing this song, staying on my tippy toes to keep my eyes on her… mmm… Cute and wonderful. (I also clap hard after each song I think XD)

After that much hype, it’s MC time!

I found it cute how Shuka knew we’d want to do it?? So she gets us to congratulate her for her 5th Anniversary. And also to wish her happy birthday XD So she would say “Shuka-chan, congratulations on your debut 5th anniversary” and we’d echo “CONGRATULATIONS!!” and she goes, “Shuka-chan, happy birthday~” and we’d echo, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” >w<

Shuka then mentions about wanting to go bbq together and we’d shout back things like “Let’s do it!” and another one even went, “Right after this??” XD

Shuka likes to know the fans that are around so she starts asking our age group! When she asked “Are there teens?”, the person behind screamed so loudly <v<; Me and the other guys in front visibly flinched from the loudness XD I think Shuka was looking to the other side so perhaps she was not affected by that screech! Then she goes, “Those in the twenties?” and I cheered! I chuckled a bit on the inside that those in their twenties did a very cordial cheer? It was properly loud but not annoying is how I remember it XD And then Shuka goes, “Those in the thirties?” There was quite a bunch too and I remember I accidentally pumped my fist up too XD I was like, Hold on, Miyuki. We still have a few years to that. XD And when she asked for the older age group and there were still replies Shuka was happy about that!! :D

Shuka spoke more and then asked us to take a seat for now as she wants to serenade us >v</ I gladly sat down to hydrate myself but I was concerned if I could see Shuka when sitting down @v@ Thankfully? I could see her in between the heads of the tall people in front of me XD But it was slightly tough to make the head of hair become unfocused while I tried to make my eyes focus on Shuka only. It was a strange first minute or two while I watched Shuka play the harmonica and sing Himitsu Dogu. But gosh, I’ve wanted to experience this Live too and it’s wonderful each time!!!

Next, Shuka sings Kokoro from her 555 mini album. My eyes soften as I nod to the music and her singing voice, taking in each lyric into my heart. I really liked how everyone sat quietly and listened. And I couldn’t tear my eyes away from Shuka for even a second.

When the music started for Hanarenaide, I felt something from the tip of my toes to my fingers and the top of my head. I knew this song resonated with me from when I heard it back home, but Shuka singing it to you Live? While you’re sitting there, and she’s sitting up on the stage… It’s like the world just had me and her. I remember I could not help but groove to the song and her words and I simply wanted the words in my mind to reach her – zutto hanaremasen. zutto soba ni… (I’m never letting go. I’ll be by your side always.)

We clapped so hard when she finished singing. >o<♡♡♡

And while I was feeling things, Shuka goes off stage to get changed and the band gets their solo moments!! It’s suuuuper cool! *w*

Miss Devilish Shuka returns in her full devil form and I swear I still feel the same way as Day 1 – Excuse me, Shuka-san?? What are you wearing?? What are you doing to me?? XD That looks so sexy and pretty and devilish indeed!? XD

Shuka is singing Baby Tell Me and it’s such a fun song too to be bouncing to while she have fun singing and running about the stage?? Oh, but she did not just run around the stage. This was where she was going to shoot us with water XD So she also ran all the way to the back and climbed a tower?? A high place XD And she sprayed a whole lot of water – from that far back, the water barely not reached me XD So I was like “Aww” >v< But it wasn’t over yet…!! She ran down and came all the way the sides too to spray us with water with her water hose-gun thing XD So yes – I was hit by the holy or maybe not so holy water since she’s on the Devil Portion of the Live now XD

It's one heck of an experience to see her up close!! It’s like, “Oh right, Shuka is that small. How is she so small but so amazing? Oh gosh, Shuka is right here…!!” kind of thoughts as she ran between the aisles to spray us with water! And then back to the stage!! >w<

After this hype marathon, there was some music box and thunder bgm which brought the mood back to “Oooh what’s next??” >v< And Shuka starts singing Tsuki de hoshi de Taiyo da! So I was jumping and hyping along to it! >w</ And when you’re hyping to it, suddenly it’s a little interval bgm thing again and she’s onto the next song Zenshin Zenrei…!!! *O* Waahhh!!

You’re Zenshin zenrei-ing one moment, and then bam, now it’s Ippai Attena!! XD It’s one hype song after another, I’m telling you!! All I remember now is being unable to stop smiling, to be bouncing on my tip toes to constantly get to see Shuka and cheering happily. (All while appreciating her moves and smile of course ;D) Bokura wa Genius is the final of the Hype Medley. This song was always super energetic for the full version too so definitely a wonderful finale of the medley hehe >w< Ugh, whenever she lowers her voice for a cool moment during the song…! >w< It’s so goooood >w</

Oohh, I like this next part – the BGM gets you pumped and Shuka asks you to do a few rounds of “S-H-U-K-AAAAA SHUKA!” cheers before her next song Darake!!! >w< I want to do that agaaain >w</ Shuka counts the number of times we cheer it with her fingers so we know how many to go too \*w*/

And now we are onto the 4th song of her 555 mini album. I was trying to take note of where she planted each of her new songs too, and I loved how they were placed!! ^w^

But first, TOWEL SONG…!! ShuShuShu!! As mentioned in Day 1 report, I find towel songs extra entertaining and fun for us to participate in >w</ This time, I tried twirling the Tenshi to Akuma no Sasayaki towel… and I must say, it’s a bit heavy to spin XD But all in all, there was spinning, jumping and cheering \>w</

Sekai no hate is one of my favourite songs too. It’s so cool, empowering, and the MV is as gorgeous as Shuka! I remember hearing it for the anime and then the MV…Shuka’s brown eyes literally so bright and alluring! And I would think Shuka rocks any colour but she rocks her favourite colour red so, so well…!! u>v<u I digress. Shuka on stage performing Sekai no hate is charming and I was left staring and experiencing her performance. I didn’t even bother doing the cheers the dudes around were doing. It’s that feeling of…like, all you can see is Shuka, all you can hear is Shuka, and…it’s just an amazing feeling.

At the end of this song though, Shuka reached out her hand skywards and stayed in that pose for a long time, so it’s like she froze and the people around started wondering if she really froze XD Then she “unfroze” and head towards the backstage again for outfit change! I bet she was feeling the moment thus the elongated pause in pose. =w=♡

Piano version of Hero ni narikatta plays while we wait for Shuka to return. 😊And this is another one of my favourite songs from her. I especially love the acoustic version and so I was loving the instrumental as I get hydrated, waiting for what Shuka is going to bring next—

I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR MY TOP FAVOURITE SONG OF SHUKA’S TO BE PERFORMED NEXT.

THE SECOND THE FIRST BEAT DROPPED.

My eyes widened, my jaw fell agape morphing into a smile of disbelief and awe.

My processor was going into overdrive as I understood that Shuka was singing “Mou Muri Demo Hashiru”. I literally, unapologetically, and fervently tell whoever I can and Shuka that my favourite song of hers is this. It’s been an unspoken dream of mine to get to experience this song of hers Live. I’ve seen the MV, I’ve looped the song a gazillion times, I’ve watched her perform it in other Live performances via the Blurays, but…Live in person?? I wanted to get to taste this. And I am living it. The world does not even need a rebuilt or to “fall apart” again as I was still living in the space that felt like it was just Shuka and me as my eyes never strayed from her, when she pours her heart out in singing each syllable and verse which she would go lower to the stage’s floor, I’d just do my best to tip toe some more to see her, chasing after every poignant second of this performance. I lipsynced to it as the words were known by heart. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to properly convey my love for this song and how good Shuka’s Live performance of this was.

And while I’m still reeling from having a dream come to fruition unexpectedly… (Shuka is amazing that way, right? (◕‿◕)♡) The next song Shuka performs is Kutsuhimo.

Gosh…It felt like coming full circle. Of course, I came to know Shuka from loving Watanabe You, but when I got into loving Shuka too, I supported her from her debut song too. And Kutsuhimo is like the string that ties us together. A strong bond that’s like…fate and like a pinky promise too. We put in the effort to continuously support one another. :)

[Shuka performance touches my soul and I have ascended (again)]

MC time! Both Shuka and I need that moment to hydrate and breathe again XD (By this point I think I already finished my sports drink and my 2 litres of water is probably down to 500ml or less OuO;)

I think Shuka liked to ask us if it’s hot / if we’re feeling hot, and we would go “It’s hot!!!” XD And while she’s drinking, someone asked if the water was delicious, she smiles/smirks and under her breath, she goes, “It’s not water” XD But doesn’t tell us what it is. Well, considering the hardcore setlist, you’d think it’s a sports drink at least XD

Shuka then asks us if we are enjoying the outdoor live which we of course tell her we’re enjoying it to the max. Then Shuka goes, “Tasukaru?” (“Does it save you?”) and we all laugh with her because this is like a youngin’ slang. Probably the Japanese Gen Z slang? XD Basically a thing to say when what you love is there. (Fun fact: Shuka did not understand this slang is either and learnt about it during Uraraji when the person who wrote in used this slang. And further understood it more the more people used it even during her InstaLive. >v<)

Shuka continues to talk about a bunch of stuff such as how she would think a lot into what song to perform for each Live, and to cherish every second there is with everyone… And that’s how quite the tough and crazy setlist got decided for this first ever outdoor Live too. She smiles sheepishly yet happily at this, and we laugh because we know it’s really a setlist jam-packed with energetic songs and Shuka really kept going song after song. But we love it >v<

Shuka also tells us about how she feels that with each Live performance she gets to do with us, with each challenge she overcomes from the various performances, she finds/hones a new weapon to be able to be stronger again >v< (EXP points gained and levelling up!!)

When she goes “The last song for today”, me and everyone around whines for more XD And we asked for extension XD but of course, it’s the last song for the day. And Shuka leads in with her these heartfelt words…

“For a final song…Right now, what I am feeling up to this point have been enveloped into this song and I hope to deliver it to you. You all are not alone, you have me. No matter how tough or sad things get, or when things seem out of reach, I will definitely be unwaveringly by your side. You can come over to me knowing it will be okay. Every day, every day, let’s keep supporting each other and walk together. So…please listen to this song – Mikata.”

Mikata to me, is another song of hers that is one where she bares her vulnerable side to us like she did in “Yoku warau riyuu”. Some lines that calls out to me are “I’m going to continue singing at the place where I am reflected in your eyes.”, “Even if feeling like a coward or feeling uncool. Put that aside, and take my hand.” and “I’ll tie my shoelaces again and start running once more.”

When Shuka sang the final line of Mikata, I like how there’s such a loud silence and then the band plays the instrumental of Mikata, like it just continues and then Shuka goes, “Thank you so much for coming over to play with me for the 5th Anniversary Live. Now, allow me to introduce the band…”

“I may not be a hero yet…but right now, I know that what I can say with confidence is that I’m your ally (mikata). And will always have your back.” Shuka… >o< To me, you ARE my hero. But I’m also just…so, so happy to have you as my ally. That’s for certain!! >o< ♡ (I also teared up at this part when Shuka talks about her journey of 5 years as a solo artist, how she wants to be our hero and don’t think she is yet… Shuka… OmO♡)

Shuka also asks if we will continue to see more sceneries with her. And I can tell you, my answer is a resounding yes. My new dream is to get to attend her FC event performance because I adore her acoustic singing and I want to get to experience that too.

So… With this feelings of adoration, admiration and endearment, I once again have set forth to reach that dream! >v<

Ah, I just realize I did not mention about how Shuka was in “real Shuka” mode AKA where she is in the Live T-Shirt and shorts and the way it got redesigned is so hawawa too O//w//O

If you asked me whether I like Angel Shuka, Devil Shuka or Real Shuka more… I don’t think I can really give an answer right away XD They are ALL so wonderful hehe~ >w< ♡

After Shuka introduced the backup dancers, Gyaruz, I think there was picture-taking moment… And then they go off backstage…and then Shuka asks for her phone cutely, “I want my phone~ My phone, please~” >v< Kawaii sugiru desho?? (Isn’t she too cute??) >w< And once she got it, she gets to record her usual video where we all cheer loudly and she asks the question which we go “SAIKO JAN!!!” >w<

This 2 days of Shuka Live was simply awesome. I’ve got no words. XD I mean, I’ve said so much, I feel like there’s more to say but…it’s that…basking in the moment feels. The post-Live euphoria… You can’t wait for the next time you get to see Shuka but at the same time, you’re just…smiling and remembering the 4 hours you just had with her for this 2 days… =v= ♡

For me, the feeling of missing Shuka and Japan while feeling like I’m still there…lasts quite long XD It’s probably why I can still be gushing about Shuka’s Live even though it’s September already :P But I really wanted to get to share it??

Again, thank you for reading all the way here. I love Shuka!! Aaahhhh >w< ♡

Part 16

18th December 2011 London

Nervously I jump around on the spot hearing thefans all scream just as the VT comes on introducing us

"Ok huddle" Liam says with his arms out. We all huddle together "we are only ever going to get one first show. Let's make this count. I know we're all nervous, but let's go out there and just have a good time. Let's smash it'

"Let's go!" Harry yells making me laugh as we all run on stage holding our microphones and immediately Na Na Na starts playing. After our first song we then sing Stand Up then Wish "Good evening London!" Harry says at the end of the song "t'night is the start of our tour so we want you to sing as loud as ya can t'night. When we first got together we spent a lot of time at my house with a guitar around the fire singing some of our favourite songs. So that's exactly what we're gonna do f'you right now"

Finally it's time for our little medley/solo songs. I sit down between Harry and Zayn. First up is Zayn with I Got A Feeling, then Niall sings Stereo Hearts. As usual I do the high harmony while singing. Next up is Louis with Valarie, then it's Liam with Torn. Finally is my turn with I Wanna Dance With Somebody

"Clock strikes upon the hour" as I start singing I get to from my seat and walk towards the front of the stage "And the sun begins to fade. Still enough time to figure out. How to chase my blues away. I've done alright up 'till now. It's the light of day that shows me how. And when the night falls, loneliness calls" I turn to look at the boys smiling "Oh, I wanna dance with somebody I wanna feel the heat with somebody. Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody. With somebody who loves me" the boys then all join in "Oh, I wanna dance with somebody I wanna feel the heat with somebody Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody With somebody who loves me" Harry and Zayn place their arms around my shoulders

“think we should do it one more time don't you?" Niall says

"This time put your hands in the air and clap along" Zayn shouts and we sing the last part of the song acapella.

19th December 2011 Westcliff-on- Sea

"I just want to say on behalf of all of us thank you for turning up here tonight your the best fans in the world and your also very good on Twitter" Zayn says into his mic

"We've actually been looking at our favourite tweets today" Liam says “Ah here they are"

"I traveled all the way from Yorkshire on a train to be here" Louis says

"Oooo I like this one. What have you asked for Christmas?" Liam says

"Another dog" I say into my making all the boys laugh

"And what did ya dad say?" Harry asks

"No" I pout "but I just think cookie is lonely and needs a friend"

"I swear your gonna have a zoo one day" Zayn

laughs into the mic

"This was my favourite tweet" I say and turn to the screen "bloody hell I think I need my eyes testing. Ok errrm 'what have you brought on tour with you from home? I've brought a few photos of my family and friends. Ni?" I look at Niall who responds

"Yeah same. Photographs and a few home comforts"

We go through some more tweets then move on to our next song.

21st December 2011 Wolverhampton

"Ok so tonight is a very special night. Tonight we are in Liams home town. Everyone make some noise!" I shout into my microphone and the fans all start screaming "ok, so, because we are here, Liams family have come out. Where are they?" I ask scanning the front row when I finally see them waving"hi!” I wave back “we hope you guys enjoy the show"

"YN isn't your dad here as well?" Louis asks

"He is! And he brought my baby with him!'

"Cookie she means cookie" Liam says

"She's still my baby. Anyway she's probably asleep in my dressing room, either that or I'm going to find some presents when I go back" I nervously laugh, but I know cookie is most likely asleep

“Now because it's a special night we want to hear how loud you guys can be. So this side of the room you've got me and Harry" Louis says

"This side you've got me and Niall" Liam says

"And you guys have the best. Me and Zayn! Whooo! We’re so going to win”

"Ok ok pipe down YN” Niall says laughing

“Ok so we want to hear you scream as loud as you can. Ready?” Harry says “on 3. 1, 2, 3” Zayn and I pull a face and shake our heads

“We can do better than that can’t we?” Liam says “on 3”

“1, 2, 3” Zayn and I look at each other and smile

“Ok now let the best group go. Are we ready?” I ask and hear cheers

“Ok 3, 2, 1” the middle group scream as loud as they can

“Ok well clearly we won” I say turning to the boys

“m’not so sure” Harry replies

“Maybe we should just get everyone to scream that way we all win”

“Niall ever the pleaser” i mutter “fine. Ok we can all win, but only because you all know Zayn and I won. Ok ready! 3, 2, 1….. woah I think they could hear us half way across the globe!”

“The next song we’re going to sing is Up All Night” Niall introduces the next song.

22nd December 2011 Manchester

“Ok guys the next song we got for you is one of the very first songs we recorded straight off the show” Niall says while I grab a drink. Harry hands me a towel

“Thanks I pant taking the towel from him”

“This is everything about you” the music then starts and Liam starts singing. During the chorus I find Alex standing in the front and sing to him. He blows me a kiss making me smile.

After Daniel does is guitar solo it’s my turn to sing

“And you have always been the only one I wanted. And I wanted you to know without you I can't face it. All we want to have is fun, but they say that we're too young. Let them say what they want” I sing going high at the very end and prolong the note while the boys start the chorus

“Give it up for YN!” Niall says as I end the note then join in with the final chorus.

We then run off stage to do a quick change. At this point I’m so used to changing in front of the boys and they are too. They respect me enough not to look. I check myself in the mirror

“Do you think I should go natural?”

“You want to go on stage nude?” Harry asks raising a brow at me

“No my hair” I laugh “I’m getting a little bored of the red hair”

“What is your natural colour?”

“Brown”

“Go for it you can always change it again right?” Zayn says

“Guys your needed back on stage” with that we run back on stage to sing Use Somebody.

23rd December 2011 Manchester

“So, get out, get out, get out of my mind. And come on, come into my life I don't, I don't, don't know what it is. But I need that one thing And you've got that one thing” we sing and at the end Louis and Liam drag me to the ground making me squeal. I sit on the floor and look at the boys as they get up

“Seriously? Why?” I laugh. Niall puts his hands out and helps me up

“Sorry YN but we had to. It’s the last night of the tour for this year” Liam says

“Speaking of, we just want to say that we are having such a good time tonight, but non of this would be possible without our incredible band. So let’s give it up John on the keys, Josh on the drums, Sam on base and last but not least Dan on the guitar!” Louis introduces the band. Each one then playing the tune to What Makes You Beautiful

“Please give it up for our amazing band” Zayn shouts “and who knows we might come back to that song later”

“We definitely will” I laugh

“Now like Liam said. This is our final tour date for this year. Tonight we will be traveling home back for Christmas. So I want us to sing a Christmas song, are you guys down for that?”

“Depends on the song” Zayn says laughing

“I want all of you to sing along. Oh I wish it could be Christmas…” I point my microphone and the fans sing “ohh I wish it could be Christmas…. so let… for Christmas! Whooo that was amazing” I smile

“M’surprised you didn’ make that into a competition” Harry says then immediately regrets “wait no…”

“To late” I smile.

So we went to see the new horror movie The Watchers earlier this week which comes from not only M. Night Shyamalan who is a producer on this movie but it was directed and co-written by this daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan and you can tell that she is her father's daughter and that she learned well from him.

but as for the movie I thought it was pretty good now I don't want to give away to much but be warned there might be some spoilers.

Now the movie is I thought very interesting and it pretty much kept me glued to the screen. I didn't want to miss any clue or any part of the mystery about what was going on in this somewhat strange movie. I can say I don't think it was overly scary I had one jump around the first from a well placed "jump scare" bird lol but the movie for the majority of the run time is just creepy AF! but you are almost mesmerized by it being you want to know who these people are, where did this weird building they are trapped in come from why was it built in the middle of the woods? what are these creatures? at first I thought they might be some type of trolls but they are not.

while watching this movie it reminded me of the TV series "From" if you haven't seen that you should go and watch it its really good. but yeah elements of this movie did remind me of that.

Now as for a story this basically is follows the character of Mina (Dakota Fanning) who is working through some trauma from her childhood while work at a pet store in Ireland and is asked to deliver a parrot to a zoo somewhere else Ireland while on her way there her car dies in the middle of the woods and she decides to start walking and gets kinda turned around and meets Madeline (Olwen Fouéré) who takes her back to to what they are calling "the Coop" its a large single room that looks like a stage with a glass wall. Mina meets 2 other strangers who have been trapped there for months and she is told that every night creatures known only as "the Watches" come and watch them do random things and then leave in the morning. So Mina is determined to not be trapped here and find out what the watchers are and how to escape the forest and that is pretty much it.

Now like I said I thought it was pretty good I feel it was well acted and it is very suspenseful and creepy and visually it was really cool. the creature design was I thought pretty interesting it fit the story. You don't see them right away of course but you get bits at a time. personally the only problem I had with the movie over all was how Mina got into the woods to be lost. She is following a GPS and it leads her out into the middle of nowhere I just kinda felt that was kinda strange I can't believe the GPS picked that as the best route to get to this zoo. other then that I didn't have any real problems with the movie.

As for any type of twist? there isn't a big one I would think it was a small one I thought it was going to involve the main character Mina because it kinda feels like it leads to her but it actually doesn't.

but yeah if you want to watch a creepy and interesting movie I would suggest it.

Kazuki Dragging Rei Around

I skimmed through the episodes again (#1 - 7) to see when exactly Kazuki drags Rei around and in what kind of situations. Now, I didn’t fully rewatch all the episodes, just skim them, so I may have missed an instance, but this is what I found:

Episode 1: No dragging at all, even in the opening scene where they need to go to the daycare to pick up Miri.

Episode 2: This iconic scene, of course.

Where Kazuki is dragging Rei and carrying Miri from the gun fight going down. In this situation it’s just a safety thing. He needs to get all three of them out of there. He basically has to drag Rei away even though Rei is in his element. Though, because Rei is in his element here, he doesn’t make any complaints about this, he’s just focused on shooting his gun. Rei also doesn’t have much of an emotional attachment to Miri yet.

Episode 3: Kazuki doesn’t physically drag Rei anywhere in this episode. But he does kind of bring him along for the ride to see Miri’s mother.

Rei kinda just goes along with it though, probably because he knows that Kazuki does actually want to keep Miri and he has started to form his own emotional attachment to her. But yeah, he is initially just met to keep an eye on Miri. Miri drags him to the park to play in a way too.

Though, once again, no physical dragging takes place here.

Episode 4: This is the episode where Kazuki drags Rei. He drags two times for sure, and one time that is heavily implied:

The first drag is to the first daycare that turned out to be an awful place. The second time is only implied and it is to Miri’s daycare (Aozora). The last time is when they are at Kyu’s bar and have to go pick up Miri at the daycare. In all of these cases, Rei was being dragged away from or being kept from indulging in activities and habits he likes (video games and smoking) to do something responsible and largely connected to Miri. He is also in his “Off” mode during all of these moments, not in his “On” mode and focused on his job.

Episode 5: Kazuki doesn’t drag Rei around in Episode 5, but Miri does for at one point.

When the subject of their jobs gets brought up, Rei was going to try and escape it by jumping into his work “Scouting time.” But Miri sees him, stops him, asks him a few questions, and that causes him to turn around. No need to drag him back when Miri does it for him, lol.

It shows how Miri has a much bigger influence on Rei now.

Episode 6: Kazuki drags Rei, but not because Rei doesn’t want to go somewhere, but more so because they aren’t supposed to go there.

Rei and Miri are once again shown to be very similar in this regard. Miri is shown to be a good kid who sticks to the rules. That is her general understanding of “right vs wrong” at this stage in her life. Taiga is shown going against the rules, so she knows that he is wrong. He also goes against societal rules (taking food, etc.) to get attention, so Miri also views that as being “wrong” and “mean.” Because often “mean things” are things that hurt others in society.

Now, we know because of Rei’s upbringing that he doesn’t necessarily have a normal sense of right from wrong. In Episode 1 he was ready to shoot through Miri to get their target after all. But from the brief interactions we’ve seen with his father (and based on the kind of work that he was trained to do from a young age), it would make sense that Rei would be hyper aware of following rules that are laid down for him.

So that’s why he doesn’t want to go to the zoo. Not because he wouldn��t want to (when they actually get there, he seems quite excited at going to a zoo for the first time), but because it was something they were told they shouldn’t do by the daycare. Those were the rules. Mirii is kinda the same. Taiga does something he isn’t supposed to do (like Kazuki), Miri follows/gets dragged along (like Rei), but both her and Rei end up having a bit of an adventure and a good time (overall).

Episode 6 is also the first time we see Rei (alone) bring Miri to school. It’s likely a first in general, since Rei was shocked at Miri stating she wanted him to bring her in. And I think that is a key thing to note here, Miri basically demands that Rei bring her in and not Kazuki:

She doesn’t ask. She states that Rei will bring her, so he is kinda “dragged” into doing so by Miri. He really has no other choice.

Because neither Rei nor Kazuki are certain about how Miri is feeling about Kazuki after going to the zoo, Rei has to be the one that picks her up from daycare as well. Once again, there really isn’t any other option.

Episode 7: Now, in Episode 7, there isn’t any dragging on a physical or narrative level here in regards to Rei, Kazuki, or Miri. Kazuki does up and leave for the episode, but this isn’t dragging Rei into doing anything. Kazuki (and Miri) have both already done that enough with Rei. Now it is Rei’s time to drag himself into doing things. And he does them.

When Miri asks about daycare, she isn’t demanding he bring her like Episode 6, she just asks about it. Rei realizes the time and then he actively gets up and starts getting Miri ready and brings her there (and then back). Miri will remind Rei of the things he needs to do with her in this episode (”I’m hungry” etc.), but Rei is the one that actively does it on his own (even if it is just ordering pizza).

It will be interesting to see if Kazuki and/or Miri dragging Rei around physically or narratively will continue to happen now or if the series will stick to this growth we’ve been seeing build up, and have Rei take the initative on his own more and more.

Oh Liam totally has PTSD 100% especially after season six, we even see more of it in the zoo when Liam literally sees Brett hurting him, and while we can argue that’s guilt I don’t actually believe that hasn’t happened before.

I think the fans and writers sometimes (not necessarily on purpose) excuse Liam’s mental instability and self-loathing/harm with stage fact he’s a werewolf, “oh, he literally just cut into his own palms so that they’re pouring blood… it’s fine he’s a werewolf he’ll heal”

There is nothing more beautiful to me than Theo and Liam seeing each other and understanding the other despite everyone else’s hesitation towards the two. Both no what it’s like to be feared and both are the exception to each other.

yup! tw isnt really the show for this, i guess, bc theres so much trauma they put the characters through and then just.. kinda forget about that? theres a lot of untouched potential with the storylines they start, for sure. and they love to play liams character off as the comedic relief, which i Hate. that scene in s5 where liam tells scott to punch him so he'll get angry??? haha funny and werewolf logic and whatever but how fucked up is that? liam offering himself as a punching bag, probably thinking hes useless if it wasnt for his anger? and this is in s5b so he feels horribly guilty about having tried to kill scott. sure, he needs to get angry so he'll get strong in that situation, but he 100% thought he deserved getting punched by scott.

and the zoo scene, oh boy. i personally do not think that that was just liam hallucinating something that never happened/that he was only projecting his guilt or whatever. that episode is named "triggers". theo, word for word, says: "something around here is triggering you." why would they focus that much on something TRIGGERING liam when its not something that actually happened to him. idk about you, but that makes zero sense to me. and its not like its out of line for bretts character to have done something like that. (personally hate when people erase this part of bretts character because it automatically takes away from liams character. like sorry that this random guy that you like for reasons unbeknownst to me is an asshole, at least own up to it and dont pretend he isnt as big of a dick as he canonically is.)

(^ i say, with theo as one of my favorite characters. im aware that hes an asshole. i do not care. im not pretending that he isnt.)

the brief focus on the warning sign about "dangerous animals" above the cage (reminder that this happened before liam was a werewolf) and liam begging scott, saying "they can't see me like this" and scott finishing "like a monster?" during his first full moon. yeah. liam has thought of himself as a monster long before he got bitten. that boy has serious self-worth issues and a bunch of trauma.

theo and liam helping each other through their trauma, recognizing the other's pain and seeing themselves in each other is so important to me. an aspect i love to focus on.

ever since they decided riptide was gonna be the promo song for the show, i've seen a lot of takes--it's ridiculous, it's campy, it's 2012 fan-made mv vibes, it's eerie, it's fun, it's stupid, it's perfect--but what it seems like everyone agrees on, is that the only real connection to percy jackson is the title also being the name of his beloved sword. i'm not saying that connection isn't enough by itself.. but i do think we could go a little deeper hehe so let's break down these lyrics, shall we? <3

**Riptide by Vance Joy Through the Lens of Percy Jackson**

I was scared of dentists and the dark

beautiful intro line to get us in the headspace of the literal child that is 12yo percy jackson.. maybe he was scared of dentists, who knows? but the point is that these are the kind of fears that a parent might be there to hold a child's hand through, and percy never had anyone but sally to do that. this line prepares us for just how strong of an impact the loss of her will be.

I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations

this is percy "stands in the corner playing basketball at the school dance" jackson. it's him losing his words when he notices how pretty annabeth is, but it's also an indication of his placement in the social hierarchy of his peers up until this point.

Oh, all my friends are turning green

green with jealousy because he has all the power of a child of the big 3? because he gets granted a quest on like day fucking one at camp? because he's a naturally talented sword-fighter to rival luke? .. or green because he's finally seeing the world as it is through his god-given green eyes? or green like kelp and algae and the tint of the sea as he befriends creatures in his father's domain?

You're the magician's assistant in their dream

i think if you see luke as the magician, with his tricks and lies, you could easily attribute this line to annabeth--i mean he did want her with him in his backwards dreams. he also saw her following him in dreams of the past, and saw her in the dream conjured by the river styx. but!! i think this line could also refer well to luke himself, where the magician is kronos.

Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ah-ahh-ah-ah And they come unstuck

(gonna be real.. i've never known what to make of this line oops)

Lady, running down to the riptide

first, i think of percy running straight for the riptide as a representation of how accepting he's a demigod and a child of poseidon also pulls him in deep into this narrative that has been constructed around him, both in regard to zeus's bolt and also the great prophecy as a whole. but, i think this could also be addressing annabeth, rushing toward percy (water, riptide, etc. you get the picture) and counting on him to take her away from the shore (camp). another option here, if we stick with luke as the person being addressed, is his being called and swept up by the seething rage and indignation that spirals him away from the calmer tides and into the hands of kronos, which....

Taken away to the dark side

yeah, this could very easily be referring to kronos. we can also use it for percy and annabeth both when thinking about the quest that took them to the underworld, which is quite literally the dark side. i also think it could refer to the darker side of the life of a demigod.. by percy stepping up to accept his identity, his eyes are opened to the monsters and manipulative gods and backstabbing (literally) friends and the vague promise of his own death.

I wanna be your left-hand man

oh hello zoo transport oreo sharing "bc you're my friend" scene hehehe also if we switch perspectives this does work well for luke for obvious reasons

I love you when you're singing that song And I got a lump in my throat 'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong

okay stay with me now.. sally pov to percy. like he's up on that metaphorical stage all alone and doing his best and he's gonna fail sometimes but he's singing his own song, the song he was always meant to sing *cries*. another option of this is annabeth looking at percy, who almost always gets the words wrong, but it's so enduring--seaweed brain (affectionate). we also have the potential for annabeth to be looking at luke and saying this, only his wrong words were the path he chose, and the lump in her throat is the pain of watching him betray her trust again and again. along those lines, i think there's also an argument here for the percy @ annabeth pov that i would be inclined to associate with this song... because he loves her and the hope and the trust she carries with her, but he sees the way those beautiful traits of hers make it difficult to see luke for the monster that he's become--right tune, wrong words.

There's this movie that I think you'll like This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City This cowboy's running from himself And she's been living on the highest shelf

a movie percy would think annabeth would like perhaps? annabeth ran away from home and wound up in new york. before that, she had been basically cast aside to collect cobwebs by her parents. when we meet her at the beginning too, she's very much been set on the highest shelf in the way that she's been set aside despite so desperately wanting a quest. but there's also the case that the movie being referred to here is about luke, who ends up running from himself in the sense that he chooses to stand opposite both his father and the family he created for himself after heading to new york. in that case, there's also the possible attribution of the object living on the highest shelf to thalia, whose tree luke would have looked at every day as a reminder of his cause, but who would have been unable to say anything herself, stuck collecting dust, so to say.

I just wanna, I just wanna know If you're gonna, if you're gonna stay I just gotta, I just gotta know I can't have it, I can't have it any other way

okay talk about percabeth coding.. percy's "annabeth don't" when he thought she was gonna join the hunters. annabeth freaking out after he came back from ogygia. percy printing the picture she sent becuase he couldn't trust that it (she, chb, etc.) was real. "you're not getting away from me, never again." etc. etc. etc. (please feel free to continue spiraling in this vein as i know i will). it's also giving luke and his manipulation tactics tho ngl..

I swear she's destined for the screen Closest thing to Michelle Pfeiffer that you've ever seen, oh

we (percy) support our queen (annabeth). i could get lost in the percabeth of this all, but i also think it's important to go back to a previous pov we mentioned.. sally's as she watches percy go off on his own. and if the she in question is percy from sally's pov, it's his success that she sees, his happy ending, the one she's been willing upon him from day one. there's also the potential of this line to be about sally from percy's pov. he loves his mom and he's proud of her, and he'll do anything to bring her back from the underworld so that she can live the life she deserves.

so yeah, ig in conclusion, there's more meaning here than meets the eye :) but also that won't stop me from thinking about my favorite pen sword every time that word is sung <3

I watched the synopsis for this movie and I am begging for no more movies. No more movies are allowed to be made. That's it. Yeah no this is in the red. It's late, I'm very tired, but I am going to write you the ask anyway because I need you to know you put a new fic idea into my head and somehow it has grown and now what am I going to do? Do I have time for it? No. But it's been a lot of fun writing a snippet on the train today (as you do) and I hope it will stay for a while and maybe develop?

Basically, it's -

"[The cat] already has a name" the Doctor said suddenly. "She's called Siren." "You've named her?" Yaz exclaimed. "Has she told you?" Graham asked. "Mate, she doesn't actually speak 'cat'; she was having you on, earlier" Ryan stage whispered, before blinking and looking over to the Doctor. "You don't, do you?" "She's wearing a name tag" the Doctor explained and really, now that Yaz was examining the cat's collar, there was a tiny silver square reading 'Siren'. "Oh" she said, wondering why the Doctor hadn't used the name yet. Was it as not to get too attached? It had taken her awfully long to enter the discussion on the name, too.

I'm not quite sure how far this will go but there is actual plot already somewhere. It's a bit - difficult though. Because they're all treating the cat like you would treat a cat. Which is different from how you'd treat a human/timelord/whatever, especially when it comes to boundaries. And they don't know she's not a cat of course, because River is there ~undercover~. To them, basically, 13 has 'adopted a stray'.

Anyway, it is still very fun :) (also 90% of it has turned into a zoo tycoon ad but I am blaming that on companion-showdown) I love writing for the fam! It's difficult to juggle so many people in one scene but I love all of them so much 🥰 (but if I do write this whole piece it will probably end up being doctor/yaz/cat!river centric so that's only 3 characters and one is mainly non-verbal)

(This is about that cat named River Song in that post (yesterday?) and you saying it should be River undercover btw. Not sure whether that's been clear until now.)

Do you think Siren is a good name? Sirens sing and live in bodies of water, so I thought she might choose it as a not-too-obvious undercover name. Plus, River would dig the seductress connotations. (It might also have come to my mind because we've been talking about mermaids but anyway)

Alternatively, I was thinking Cleopatra bc we know River has cosplayed as her and it would be cute to call the cat 'Cleo'. It's a very cat-like name, I think.

Or 'Melody'? More angsty but also more obvious and riskier. And the idea is that the Doctor cannot know either she's there. But it also makes a good name for a cat I think.

(also, yeah, I totally haven't finished the lkh rewrite either, I think I told you earlier. But ohhh shiny new fic concept with thasmin and River and a cat 😍😍😍 anyway I am blaming you <3 (for the idea, not the procrastinating - the procrastinating is 100% on me))

God, I hope this is halfway coherent now. I'm not feeling too coherent 😅

Anyway thank you so much for listening <3 I'm very grateful to hear any thoughts! On the name or general thoughts :) Also questions! As I said, there is some plot. Unfinished, but I can see a main direction (and it looks suspiciously like 20k+ words so... not sure I will follow it ever)

Second, I love the scene you wrote omgggg! The fact the fam didn't notice the nametag and just went to the more outlandish explanation of "13 speaks cat" 😂

I love the name Siren so much!! Like first, it fits with the "River" (body of water) "Song", but it also reminds me of how when River calls for the Doctor, they are always there for her, almost as though drawn to River.

(Shiny new ideas always so appealing, yuppp, it is a thing I know all too well)

I am so excited to read more of this, and am looking forward to the plot that awaits us!

On the point of juggling so many characters, yes, I find that anything above three characters regularly interacting gets a bit crowded. Perhaps you'll still find a way to have Ryan and Graham there and doing little tasks during the fic, like for instance sending them to get food for Siren XD

Hello The mtt connoisseur, what do you think horror and dusts opinions on killers stages? Like seperatly (what do they think of stage 1, what do they think of stage 3 ...since they all act differently)

aghhhh dreaded killer related questions because as of right now my mind cant keep track of him and his lore and charactization. yeah i can admit my flaws,,, i'm not a PERFECT mtt fan i have my flaws and shift favorites from time to time. i remember back in march or something when killer was all i could think of. the olden days. anyways probably too focused on horror and dust as of rn BUT ITS OK!!! equilibrium will be reached one day. ANYWAYS hmmm hmmm let me ponder

i already made a post about horror and stage 3 a while ago where horror would lure stage 3 in to test new traps he came up with and stage 3 would blindly chase after him and get hurt in the process because he's just locked in on killing horror. i think horror in that post was definitely a bit ooc he wouldn't be THAT active when it comes to killer but it was just a fun idea i had back then. anyways i do think that horror would think similarly to what i said in that post. killer stage 2 is usually really composed and secretive and precise with what he does that horror finds it absolutely hilarious when killer looses all that composure and just turns into a feral dog or some bullshit like that (AS IF HE DOESN'T HAVE SOMETHING SIMILAR WITH HIS HUNGER EPISODES????). although horror does value his life a shitton more than i made him in that post (that would probably be a closer friend group type of dynamic between the mtt) since there are times where i think it could be interpreted that horror wouldnt be the type of guy to fall for natural selection: killer edition. stage 3 is funny to him but he wouldn't approach cus he knows damn well he would NOT make it out unscathed‼️‼️ like watching an angry gorilla at the zoo. horror can laugh at it and all that but no way in hell is he approaching the glass

dust with stage 3??? uhhh i think he'd be more on the concerned side when faced with stage 3. and no not for killer because he really couldnt care less about killer's stage shifts he'd probably just wait for him to calm down like someone waiting for a kid to stop throwing a tantrum or something. nnnnahhh but i think he'd definitely be a bit put off by killer's sudden agression like stage 2 is agressive but not unless he needs to be. it's the same thing with horror where the shift from stage 2's way of acting compared to the unrestrained way that stage 3 acts is jarring to him. like a majority of people would he'd stay away from stage 3 killer. not like watching an animal from behind zoo glass but more like those national geographic channels where they put hidden cameras in the wilderness to take footage. something like that. he'd moniter killer from afar. i think he MIGHT be curious about the sudden shift and what caused it and all that but dust is too apathetic to care much aside from a little brainstorming. that's killer's business he's not gonna mess with it esp after seeing what stage 3's like

alright now onto stage 1! i think after seeing how different killer is in stage 1 compared to stage 2 he'd definitely feel a bit of pity and sympathy because like. killer seems GENUINELY sorry about what he did and all that bullshit and how he is. it reminds him a bit of himself back when he first did those few genocide runs in dusttale and maybe dust would be more open to talking to killer in stage 1. but again i dont think dust would be one to push or snoop like that. if killer wants to talk to him then he can be the one to initiate conversation but like i said earlier dust definitely doesnt care enough to make any effort. some mild curiosity and pity here and there and he's moved on already. plus he wouldn't forgive killer for all the shit he hates him for THAT easily. dust is the MASTER of holding grudges i swear. he and horror are tied actually idk. no nvm horror wins (because horror is consistently hateful towards undyne while dust madd a truce with the human before even if it wasn't genuine) but still that doesn't mean that dust cant hold a nasty grudge. he'd still hate killer no matter what like ever. because the mtt wouldn't be able to just get over their beef like that (and i dont think they EVER would. the trio's characters are all just too different for them to ever fully move on in a canon esque scenario)

horror's an interesting one in regards to stage 1 i think. like ngl i think he would actively avoid him. or at least like throw an insult towards stage 1 here and there and whys that??? because i think horror would ALSO see himself in stage 1 like dust with all the guilt and grief and the regret that stage 1 has and that just hits a LITTLE too close to home with horror's own personal demons even if their situations are different. because the mtt all used to be eachother. they all used to be the same guy. and stage 1 is the most "sans-like" killer will ever get so seeing a guy that you used to be the same existence with change into a guy with issues that you can relate and understand the feelings of irks horror. and he gets defensive and deflective and snappy when he feels that his privacy is being intruded on so even being around stage 1 would just tick off horror. it's like seeing a mirror of your past self but more pathetic because like dust horror hasn't forgotten that this IS still KILLER after all. similarly to stage 3 he'd think its pathetic that killer's lost his composure but not in a humorous way but in a genuinely demeaning way

UGH i hope that's a decent answer i am NOT locked in at all with killer lore as of rn. especially his stages. i only ever really care about stage 2 mostly and the others,,,, the others get thrown into the trash. JK(fashion) but actually even though this question was honestly a bit uncomfortable to think about (BECAUSE WHAT IF IM WRONG OR SOMETHING???) it was actually also really fun to think about since i rarely ever explore mtt dynamics with stage 1 or stage 3. i keep on coming up with so many ideas with stage 2 but i've yet to post a hc specifically about the other two (aside from the horror and s3 one) surpringly BUT that just goes to show how amazing the mtt can work together :3 i've yet to run out of ideas for the mtt even when i stick to my usual format!!!! just goes to show how amazing the mtt are they are so cool and have so many parallels and mtt best trio mtt best group mtt best EVERYTHING

I have loved every stage of OR's life so far (with the exception of nights during the months when they woke up every. Single. Hour.)

but yeah, this time, when they are really figuring out how to talk? Ah, I love this!

Yeah, sometimes it's tricky to figure out what they want, and that can be frustrating for us both, but it is also a fun puzzle. And not to brag, but compared to LG, I'm pretty good at this. Might be because I have long practise - OR is now at about the stage that my disabled brother has been most of his life.

Anyway. Last week, for the first time, they told us about things that happened at daycare, instead of just talking about things that are happening right now.

("[teacher] excavator gone" probably meant the excavator at the nearby construction site was gone, or [teacher] made them go inside and they couldn't watch any more

"[other child] stomachache" turned out not to be about another child, but about the Very Hungry Caterpillar, which they've been reading.)

And it seems to go the other way, too. We went to the zoo during the weekend, and now they are demanding photos to bring to daycare. (Each child has a binder for the teachers to document their development, but also for parents to send pages about interesting things that happen outside of daycare, so I'm going to print some photos tomorrow and make a page for that binder.)

They're also pretending to be animals a lot. At first it was a dog, now it is "other dog" (the original dog was gentle and cuddly, the "other dog" is loud and wild. Sometimes an owl (by pulling a blanket over their head - maybe because owls are awake in the dark?). And since the zoo visit, a monkey. Which needs to be petted and scratched just like a dog, in case you were wondering.

ok ok I'm gonna go with Percy/Draco because I do love them even though I don't talk about them much because i feel like I'm one of like 3 people who like them pff

18.What does a date night out look like for them?

i feel like they would go into muggle London for things like that as weird as that might sound for Draco at first glance. I tend to think of them as getting together after the war and part of falling for each other being the way they feel about the war and their places in it (as well as strained relations with their families)

in Percy's case feeling like he hadn't done enough and struggling with the guilt of Fred's death while still questioning if he even has a place in his family(and if he even wants it but that depends entirely on the rest of his families actions and doesn't tend to come into play until much latter)

and in Draco's case he feels undeserving of being pardoned. it's a feeling of realization that he's always been on the wrong side in actuality. That his family that he knows loves him had in the end put him in an unwinnable situation and also maybe having to deal with losing everything all that leading to extremely complicated feelings about his father mostly.

uh got off topic but point is I think Draco gets hexed alot in public and Percy likes to avoid running into people he knows so muggle world it is

i feel like Draco likes aquariums because it's a pretty calm place for a date. It reminds him of the Slytherin dorm enough to be comforting but different enough to not be suffocating. I do feel like Percy would enjoy them as well but not to the same extent. I do feel like at some point they try to go to a regular zoo and hate it though. it's too hot, the space is too open, and it's loud so they go right back to their favorite aquarium the next time.

i do feel like they probably have a lot of coffee/tea dates early on before really getting together as well

so yeah typically i think it goes

-they go to a coffee shop and sit and drink together

-they go to an aquarium or a museum of some kind

-maybe the movies I think they would have fun with that if they did though I think it would be like a 1pm showing where there are like 2 other people in the theater

13.What’s their opinions on PDA?

OK so I'm a firm believer in the Percy doesn't do a lot of PDA head canon in general and Draco I tend to switch back and forth with one one hand he's a damn attention whore but on the other hand like pureblood culture with what little we know I can't see PDA being seen as like socialy acceptable? if that makes sense idk like maybe a hand on an arm/back would be fine but like true heavy PDA would probably be viewed as inappropriate.

add in that I tend to only think about them in the context of late stage or post-war I don't think they would do much PDA

that's not to say I don't think they would be affectionate in private though because i like the idea of Draco on Percy's lap like some weird cat it just always comes back to me thank you

15.Do they go on vacations together? Where is their favorite place to visit?

i think they would go to France.

I love the head canon that Percy can speak French and I know it's a popular one for Draco as well. I also like the hc of Narcissa moving to France after the war when Lucius gets locked up and the hc of Pansy running off to France as well.

so point is I think they go to visit when they do go and would also occasionally kidnap Fleur and take her with them as well or maybe she's dragging them either way.

but i feel like other then visiting friends/family and getting dragged where they want to drag them. A lot of it would be going to similar places they already go to aquariums, museums with the rare different thing thrown into it if it seems interesting and they're up for it that day

The Stars May Rise and Fall: The Annotated Re-read (Chapter 30)

Just FYI, we’re officially into the stage of this book where just about everything makes me cry. (I know, I know, I wrote the thing, I could’ve changed it! But angst just hurts soooo good!)

As always, spoilers (including spoilers for chapters beyond this one) under the cut!

They take a taxi to Shinjuku to get on the train, and Rei is visibly uncomfortable riding in a car… but there’s not really much alternative at this point, as they both recognize. I don’t think he remembers the moment of the accident, or any moments of consciousness he would’ve had immediately afterwards. The brain tends to block things like that out, but I do think he probably has a fuzzy or even unconscious memory of that moment just before, when you know it’s about to happen but it’s too late to do anything to stop it.

I would love art of Rei’s super extravagant coat in this scene, by the way… yet another one to add to the list!

The taxi driver in Hakone is sort of the opposite of the asshole doctor when it comes to microaggressions. He sees immediately that Rei has a disability and asks for his government ID, which can actually get you a lot of discounts and things like free entry into public facilities like zoos and museums, but I think Rei’s usually too proud to actively ask for those benefits very much. Up to this point, I don’t think Teru even realizes that he HAS one of those ID cards. But the taxi driver is a nice guy who wants to give them the discount, and does. BUT… then he goes and makes some well-meaning but ignorant comment about Teru and Rei spending Christmas with their girlfriends. Of course, this isn’t malicious but it’s still kind of awkward and hurtful.

They get to the hotel, and poor Rei I think is just feeling incredibly guilty, that Teru has done this kind, amazing thing for him when all he (thinks he) has done is make Teru’s life more difficult. GAH, I wish he’d just TALK to Teru because Teru doesn’t feel that way at all.

Teru also feels a little guilty for choosing a traditional Japanese room, since there’s not a lot of furniture and it’s hard for Rei to sit on the floor (and always has been (at least since Teru has known him), as established in an izakaya several chapters ago; this wasn’t directly caused by the more recent injury, so yeah, Teru COULDVE thought of that, but he’s still probably being too hard on himself. He did come up with a really thoughtful plan overall.)

I DO have art of my boys in hotel yukatas! Would REALLY love some art of the bath scene too, but I’m getting a little ahead of myself.

So this hotel (really a ryokan, sorry, I’ve been calling it a hotel because that’s English, but it’s like a traditional Japanese style inn) has meals served in the room, which is super fancy (I think I’ve only been to places that did this twice… both in Hakone, and both as romantic weekend type things), and also super nice if you’re boyfriend’s self-conscious about eating in front of people. The server is also kind to Rei, bringing him a stool because he clearly can’t sit comfortably on the floor, and like with the taxi driver, he’s appreciative and polite. I think there are a couple of reasons behind this sort of shift in attitude. First, I think people in this rural resort town are just being a little more friendly than most people in Tokyo are, but more importantly than that, I think Rei has kind of realized that he does need to change, he does need to learn how to accept help gracefully… and he also just wants to make this trip wonderful for Teru, and he knows that means minimal drama. ❤️

Then they take a private bath in the hot spring. I have nothing really to add here, except that this is way up toward the top of my “I Want Art” list, and every single time I go to a hot spring I think of this scene. ❤️❤️❤️

And then we have the not-sex scene. By which I mean they totally have sex but it’s fade to black. Some readers liked this, some didn’t, but I ultimately think it’s better than the alternative: a sex scene written by me! 😂

I did go back and forth on whether to try to write it. The ultimate reason I didn’t was because I wanted it to be perfect for every reader. And I realize that “fade to black” in itself is not “perfect” for some readers, but I also didn’t want to ruin the whole book by having the sex scene not be right. So if you imagine it wild and kinky, it was. If you imagine it sweet and simple, then THAT’S how it was. If you’d rather not imagine it at all, that’s also completely fine.

Personally, I think it was very sweet, very careful, very full of love and consent… it’s Teru’s first time with a guy, and Rei’s first time since the accident, so I do think they take things very slow, and probably don’t get to full-on anal penetration or anything… mouths and hands? But that’s me. You’re free to imagine it (or not) however you want.

I also think it doesn’t really matter HOW it happened, just THAT it happened. I read a lot of romance novels during the editing of this (I actually hadn’t read ANY before I wrote the first draft… again, I apologize deeply to romance readers, this was never supposed to be a category romance novel!) and there definitely ARE books out there where HOW the characters have sex drives the plot or develops the relationship. And there are others where it’s not really intended to: it’s there for fun, for titillation. In this case, I think the fact THAT they have sex is the plot/character development point. We’ve seen them be caring and careful with each other up to now, and I didn’t think that showing that specifically in the bedroom would change anything. As for titillation… I honestly don’t like sex scenes that exist only for titillation as a reader, so I don’t think I’m the writer to understand what those readers want and to give it to them.

The couple of sex scenes I’ve attempted to write to date (mostly for fanfic exchanges or challenges where the prompt I got was more adult) have also been… not good. When I was a kid, if I happened to draw a picture that I really liked in black and white, I never wanted to color it because I might ruin it. I think attempting to write the sex scene here would’ve felt like trying to color something that already worked in just pencil?

I do want to sort of address one comment made by a reviewer that Rei deserved to be sexy and sexual on the page, deserved to be SHOWN being loved physically as well as emotionally and… I agree. That’s a very good point. Unfortunately… I just really don’t think my writing skills in this particular area are up to the task. It would really have to be perfect, and beautiful… and I’m not sure I could’ve done that.

And then we have the last scene, after the fade to black, where Teru decides that he’s not going to take the deal… he’s going to prioritize being with Rei. Which is exactly what Rei DOESNT want him to do. 😭

So apparently in the original script, the dance at the feast was different. After Wuershan watched the guys' performance, he changed that dance to the sword + shield dance.

Liu Han was getting emotional during his thank you speech to the teachers and the guys were like "CRY!!!!!!" XD Meanwhile in the studio Yu Shi was like "aw cute :3"

Omg more shoddy audio, during the speaking segment afterwards the audio of those on set was completely cut out...we just heard the music v.v

Acting performances are the final hurdle :o

Nooooo overlapping music audios again ToT I've brought this up several times but it's because it's very distracting.

Wuershan said that during camp, the trainees didn't know the script nor the characters. That being said I think I saw at least one trainee wear a 封神 T-shirt so I think they maybe had some idea but not the specifics.

Now that they have their assigned roles, they're finally getting into analyzing their specific characters.

Bro his long hair T_T I wonder if he was keeping it long for the movie or if it just happened like that. Chen Muchi's hair was growing long too so maybe it's the former.

Are we going to get any commentary on the creation of Chen Muchi's stage name

In the third portion of the training camp, all the candidates considered for Ji Fa were in one team, and all the candidates considered for Yin Jiao were in the other team. So Yu Shi and Chen Muchi wouldn't have bumped into each other too much during that time.

And also all sorts of dance. She said she trained for 2 years for not even 2 minutes of dance on screen. But that's showbiz isn't it.

Naran talked about how she studied foxes, went to the zoo to take videos, watched videos of them all the time. There are a couple of clips of her practising waking up as Daji and we see how different her mannerisms have become in the later videos.

And then training fox characteristics even more with Sang Lin

Oh this is super cool, now Sang Lin is 'attacking' her with a sword and she has to defend herself as a fox.

Interesting detail, Sang Lin said that most animals will swat inwards, not outwards.

Afterwards we see her practising a scene with Chen Muchi where Yin Jiao is trying to kill Daji.

Hou Wenyuan as Yang Jian lol. I don't know if it's confirmation bias but it just doesn't feel right lol. Hou Wenyuan as the asshole Chong Yingbiao works because Hou Wenyuan is a big personality. Ci Sha as Yang Jian works because we know he's 斯文 and a little formal. Hou Wenyuan admitted that this was not it so afterwards he was cast as Chong Yingbiao lmao.

Huang Xiyan started practising spear since he heard that the Erlang Shen character hadn't been cast yet.

Ci Sha had trained to be a hostage son for 6 months and then he was cast as Yang Jian, so he had to retrain all over again, practising spear with long robes.

Wu Yafan kept getting the giggles while practising lines with Zhou Mi (who was playing Jiang Ziya). Yafan kept accidentally calling Zhou Mi 師父 instead of 師叔 and every time Zhou Mi would be like "誰是你師父啊?!"

Oh shit, we found out about Huang Xiyan's personal history with his own father, and how that translated into his character's feelings about his father. Did not fucking help that we had two pieces of music overlapping during this moving scene and I couldn't fully concentrate on Huang Xiyan telling his story.

Afterwards, Li Yunrui was like "bro are you crying? why aren't you crying yet?"

Wuershan said that everyone who attended the training camp would be assigned a role. So for those who didn't get major or supporting roles, if they were willing to stay, Wuershan would assign them smaller roles.

Voting for this episode's title was fairly even because frankly everyone worked very hard for this movie.

The guys getting hyped for Chen Muchi vs. Ci Sha. I think Wu Yafan said that Ci Sha had practised this kind of MMA before. Anyway they were kind of laughing that they each never defended, they only ever attacked.

They went by the beach today to fight and do obstacles in the sand. Real 男子漢 stuff.
