Typing this now because I just find this idea to be utterly hilarious!

So, recently, there has been this trend going around of people showing examples of their accent sneaking their way into their everyday vocabulary and then the mortifying reactions that come with such!

So, we know how Vlad always speaks so poshly, right? I'd say that is so eloquent and pronounced you can tell me it is to hide his Midwestern accent! Mind you: Danny Phantom has been said to take place in Minnesota by Danny's voice actor!

Now, what am I getting at hear besides that maybe occasionally you can hear Vlad refer to carbonated beverages as pop?

Well, allow me to paint the scene for you with the focus I am mainly getting at: **Dan.**

The frigid, late March air pushed against the windows of the living room as Dani sat on the Fenton's couch. The faint light that could barely squeeze their way through the large clouds scattered into the room, but Dan's white, fiery hair also provided soft lighting to the room.

And yet, it felt that most of the room's darkness was contained within Dani herself.

A sinking feeling broiled and bubbled in her stomach as a faint ache gripped her heart. It was sadly funny; she hadn't gotten this feeling since, well,**he** had left her life. Yet, there it was again, right before her again.

Like Vlad was ... asking her to give him another chance the day before. Another shot at being her primary caretaker in her life. Well, that was not the exact title Vlad had asked for, but Dani did not even have it in her to even consider such for **him**.

She could honestly not understand it.

Vlad had his chance to be her ... *father*, yet he instead treated like a tool. Something to be used.

This past week was hard, ok?

A concept that I wished more Phandom writers would dive into more because I think it's that good is (a redeemed) Dan being the straight man.

Like Danny getting so enraged with a ghost that he literally begins to stalk down said terrified, now-injured ghost with pure rage in his eyes before being gently held back. He rapidly turns his head to see a very concerned looking Dan silently telling him to stop; his red eyes saying it all. Clawed hand holding him by the scruff.

Or Dani getting into such despondent, heartbroken state over Vlad that she is literally seething with tears only for Dan to then kneel to her level. His eyes meet hers, communicating all the understanding and empathy he needs for her to know he gets it all.

Or Jack and Maddie loudly announcing another crackhead hypothesis only for their exhiberant, foolish smiles to fall once they catch Dan's gaze. His eyes are half-lidded with the tiredness that he has at their tactless, scatterbrained approach to ghostly science. His judgment weighing on them so heavily.
