9. Taylor Swift- ok, I don’t hate it, it’s a GREAT debut, I just don’t listen to it a lot

Favorite songs on taylor swift: our song, picture to burn, teardrops on my guitar

8. Fearless- same reason as debut, but I BOP to love story and you belong with me

Favorite songs on fearless: the way i loved you, you belong with me, forever and always

7. Lover- it’s not bad, it’s just not as good as her other albums, the rollout for lover was also really long. The single choices were also not good.

Favorite songs on lover: cruel summer, ma&thp, cornelia st

6. Speak Now- WOW, this album is so good, and she wrote it ALL BY HERSELF! This album has NO SKIPS, bc it’s just so good!

Favorite songs on speak now: sparks fly, back to december, the story of us

5. Evermore- this album is really good, but I think I just need more time for some songs to grow on me

Favorite songs on evermore: willow, gold rush, long story short

4. Folklore- the fact that this is her first folk album is MINDBLOWING! She wrote a whole NOVEL!

Favorite songs on folklore: the 1, exile, invisible string

3. 1989- let me just say, POP PERFECTION! It was her first fully pop album, and she already CONQUERED POP MUSIC! NO SKIPS, EVERY SONG IS A BOPPPP

Favorite songs on 1989: blank space, out of the woods, new romantics

2. Reputation- WHAT AN ICONIC COMEBACK! EVERY SONG ON THIS ALBUM IS A BOP TOOOO! When the LWYMMD mv came out, IT BLEW EVERYONE AWAY! AND THE REP TOUR IS SO GOOD! NO SKIPS!

Favorite songs on reputation: delicate, dancing with our hands tied, call it what you want

1. Red- are we surprised that this is #1? She made her first pop songs on this record and they were HEADBANGERS! She made a PERFECT country and pop record!

i love it when people act as if taylor swift isn’t talented because it’s just objectively false. you don’t have to like her or even her music but denying her musical abilities does not make you look like you’re smarter than the rest of us. icons of the industry and countless music critics are all in awe of her songwriting ability, and how she’s been at it since her tweens. there’s a decent chance that one of the artists you listen to has been inspired by her to some extent, or they’ve spoken highly of her work. she has played a huge role in so many young women getting into music. you can say “i personally am not a fan of taylor swift and her music” and that’s fine because she’s not for everyone. but saying “she makes bad music and she has no talent” is just like. objectively incorrect.
