It's based on accomplishments and stats, but there's a panel of voters, yeah, so the fringe cases are more subjective. But Tobin's a 2-time WC winner, 2-time gold medalist, 4-time Olympian, huge impact and legacy, 2-time NWSL champ, 78 goals + assists in international play...she's for sure in (and this year), y'all! There's very few players with her resume period, and no one else with her resume/profile in this HOF draft year. (HAO has a pretty darn good one in her own right though and I think she'll get in this year too)

Thanks for the info! And yeah, I took a quick look at the list of eligible players, and while I don't know shit about the men, she definitely stands out between the women.

I obviously can't speak for anyone else, but I feel like it's more curiosity than genuine worry of her not getting in.

Tobin is my fav but I saw some other USWNT player names on there so I had no idea who they’d pick and how they decide. Is it a board of people just deciding who they like most? Who’s most accomplished? Etc

HAO played a couple games in 2022 for that random Irish club, so that reset her eligibility clock. A-Rod last played in Nov 2021 so I think she missed the 2025 ballot cutoff and got pushed to this one.

Also Tobin will get in this year for sure, no one needs to worry! :)

Aah, yeah, I forgot about that random HAO adventure. Does that game she was gonna play for Gotham not matter? I know it was just a friendly, and she didn't actually end up playing, but I'm just curious how strict they are with their cutoff.

Tobin is without a doubt going to soar through on first ballot. She's literally the biggest and most accomplished name on the entire eligibility list. We can mark down December on our calendars for the induction lol.

Tobin is officially eligible for the hall of fame. Will she get selected you think? I don’t know how many other people are on the list and how many will get it. Apparently Arod and HAO are on it too but I thought they’ve been retired since forever so why are they in this one? I have no clue how any of this works clearly haha.

I saw that the hof posted about her eligibility when she retired, but I've never really cared enough about the whole thing to look into the selection/nomination/whatever process. So I wouldn't be able to tell you how any of it works, I'm afraid.

I obviously hope she gets selected, though.
