(For anyone who’s still following me after all this time; this isn’t me coming back; I’m just making this one response for a friend.)
1. Looking to heaven is the furthest thing from ungrateful, if you understand what God saved us from. In actuality, setting your affections on this earth, and not on heaven is spitting in God's face, because you're basically rejecting Christ's sacrifice on the cross for your sins, and saying "Nah, I prefer to focus on this earth that will burn up (2 Peter 3:10), and I don't care that you provided me a way out of receiving your wrath." This person doesn't understand the gospel; if they realized that they needed forgiveness through Christ's shed blood on the cross, they wouldn't be scoffing at heaven, and God's provision of spiritual blessings there (Ephesians 1:3). Make sure this person gets the clear gospel, and understand that our affections are to be set on heaven, not earth (Colossians 3:1-2). 2. They don't understand what being a Christian is, apparently. It has nothing to do with tending to creation, and "making the world a better place." It's about preaching the gospel and seeing souls saved and coming to the knowledge of the truth (Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 2:2, 5:17-21, Ephesians 3:9, 1 Timothy 2:4), and being thankful to God in all things (1 Thessalonians 5:18, Philippians 4:6). Sorry to be crude here, but trying to make the world a better place is like trying to polish a turd. The world IS an evil place (Galatians 1:4, Ephesians 5:16) of which Satan is currently the ruler (2 Corinthians 4:4). You can waste all your time trying to "better" this world by feeding the poor, clothing the naked, etc., but those souls will still be lost. Those souls will go to hell on a full stomach, and the carnal satisfaction of that will be grossly outweighed by the terror of everlasting fire, and realizing that the person who fed them didn't actually care about their salvation. Christianity is not about Matthew 25:31-46, which is about the nations being judged for their works; it's about making all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, and saving them before they take their last breath. Now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2) 3. Christians are not told to neglect the world, EVER. This is a lie pit against Christians (especially dispensationalists since we make much ado about heaven, and not earth.) But does this poster really think we don't care about the environment we live in, or the people around us? Yes, our attention is fixed on heaven, BUT...God gave us a job to do on this planet. Besides seeing souls saved and saints edified, we are called to kindness, love, and charity towards others, and we are supposed to make sure we're not poisoning our environment. I think that's glaringly obvious, and the poster sets up a straw man by saying we don't care about that just because we look forward to heaven more than earth. Just look at these verses: 1 Timothy 6:17 - God has given us all things to enjoy, which includes nature, and other people. Letting the world rot is not what the Bible teaches; if we destroy nature and creation, then we're telling God that we don't care about the world He gave us to live on while we're here. This is foolish, of course, and Christians who don't see this need to read this verse and change. Besides this verse, please look up: Romans 12:9-21 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 2 Corinthians 9:7 Galatians 6:10 Ephesians 4:28-32, 6:1-9 Colossians 3:8-17 2 Thessalonians 3:10 1 Timothy 3:2-5, 5:8 Titus 1:6-8, 2:2-4 All these aforementioned verses teach us about caring for one another, and social responsibility.
Here’s a message to Christians and Catholics, from a Catholic born kid in a Catholic majority country
If you put heaven above your own life on earth, you are ungrateful. You are spitting in God’s face. He made this world for you and all the people in it and you’re saying “nah, I don’t like it, fuck it, I’ll wait for better”.
Worse still is convincing people the world is a terrible place you can ignore and abandon instead of doing what you can to make it better.
That’s not Christianity. Christianity is being a steward of creation. Taking care of the world God gave you. Taking care of people. If you think you’re gonna get into heaven by ignoring the world you’re supposed to be taking care of, I can assure you wholeheartedly that you’re gonna get in death what you gave to others in life:
Absolutely nothing.
You have been given the greatest gift–life. And wasting that life on prayer and hopes instead of good action and service and help? Well, you know the story of the talents? If you’ve had bible studies, I’m sure you remember.
The man who buried his talents in the ground, who did nothing for nobody, was punished.
If you truly believe yourself to be a Christian, waiting on heaven and not doing your best to make the earth better, whether environmentally or socially, means you’ve failed as one.
Kindness doesn’t need a religion but religions are nothing without kindness.

Leaving Tumblr
I’m sorry, but I see little point in even staying on this site any longer. My ask-box will remain open, so if anyone asks a question, I’ll be notified by email, and I’ll still answer it. But besides that, I really don’t plan to visit this site anymore in the near future. If anyone still wants to contact me, you can find me through DeviantArt.

Thank you.

More Announcing
If you read my previous announcement, I created a Patreon, and it can be found here:
https://www.patreon.com/thywordistruth
Some perks you get for supporting me are:
- See WIP’s, sketches, and writings exclusive to Patreon. These won’t be posted anywhere else.
- See completed drawings a full three days before I make them public. Novel chapters will also be posted here a full day before being made public.
- When I offer requests, you will get first dibs before anyone else on DeviantArt. I also may periodically doodle something free for you as a ‘thank you.’
- You will get “sneak peeks” into any projects or ideas I have planned. For example, I plan to reveal things about my next story on Patreon after completing the 29th chapter of the current story. That same information will be released in a journal on DeviantArt after the 52nd chapter.
I also will elaborate on why I created a Patreon in the first place. I was denied financial aid at my school this semester even though I’m earning minimum wage at my job. On top of that, I have two bills I’m paying that come out to over $230 a month. Business is lucrative during the school year since it’s a tutoring job, but summer winds up being a real pain since students don’t want to come at that time. Also, I’ve accrued a debt of over $40,000 because of past financial aid loans, which wouldn’t be a problem if I had been able to secure a career by now (which I thought I would...). Please don’t think that I’m writing this to elicit pity; I’m willing to work hard for the extra money so I can move on with my life and land a career someday. Pledges on Patreon can be as low as $1 per month, and you get ALL the above perks.
This is my gallery if you want to see the kind of work I do ---> http://thywordistruth.deviantart.com/gallery/
You can also see some here ---> https://www.weasyl.com/~mysterybelieverkjb
It’s not the best, and is by no means “professional,” but I am will to work even harder to improve. Thank you.
P.S. You will have to visit my gallery only on DeviantArt or Weasyl to view my artwork. I decided to take down all of my work from Tumblr, including compositions and stories. I’d rather not explain why, but it’s still all accessible on the other sites. Thank you.

Art Announcement
Attention: I’ve decided I’m going to stop posting art onto tumblr as of today. If you are interested in seeing more, you can visit my DeviantArt page here:
http://thywordistruth.deviantart.com/
I also have an account on Weasyl, though I only post certain pieces there:
https://www.weasyl.com/~mysterybelieverkjb
Lastly, I’ve recently created a Patreon due to undesirable financial circumstances, and you can find it here:
https://www.patreon.com/thywordistruth
Any support there will be truly appreciated. (I won’t explain the details here, but you can message me if you want to ask what’s happening.)
I’m also thinking about ceasing to post my story here as well, and will likely only share photos I take. My ask box will remain open for questions, and I still plan to create posts on biblical topics, but I don’t see the point of posting artwork here anymore, along with my story.
Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.

Jonah in the Fish’s Belly
I originally didn't plan to write this, but I recently heard something on a sitcom that I feel really needs to be addressed. One character asked how Jonah could've lived in the fish's belly for three days without dying, but if we actually look at the scripture, we see that he did die in there. The idea that he somehow lived in there that whole time is a myth.
Jonah 2:1-2 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Jonah 2:6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.
"Hell" there in verse 2 is not a metaphor for the fish's insides; he already says he's inside the fish in verse 1, and then adds in verse 2 that he was in hell. Another way we know he was literally in hell is by reading the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 12:40 --->
"For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."
Read in context, we see that Jonah was a "type" of Jesus; one way is that both had died and were three days and three nights dead before resurrecting. If Jonah hadn't died inside the fish, then the typology wouldn't make much sense, and would also fail to show that God was able to resurrect him (and isn't the greater miracle the ability to bring someone back to life rather than simply sustaining them for three days in an inhospitable environment?)
The Bible is true and trustworthy; it just needs to be read much more carefully.
P.S. The reason why Jonah was in "hell" has more to do with the dispensation he lived under. Everyone that died before the time Jesus was crucified and resurrected went into the heart of the earth (which was sometimes referred to as 'hell' in the OT), nobody went to heaven yet because His blood had not been shed yet for the remission of sins. Read Luke 16:22 to see how Lazarus was carried to "Abraham's Bosom" instead of heaven. It was separated by a chasm from the area the rich man went to in that passage, but both parts were still in the heart of the earth.

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” - Colossians 1:9-12
My prayer for 2017 is that it would be a year of immense spiritual growth for each and everyone of us. May we get to know our Heavenly Father better as we seek after Him with our whole hearts!

what do you think of "agape" love?
I’ll probably offend a lot of the textual critics, as well as ruin an untold number of sermons with this, but agape love is the exact same as phileo love.

We can rely on the Bible in English; we don’t need Greek scholars to tell us what it “should” say.

Some of these numbers sound nice, but a lot of the symbology doesn’t make sense. For example, I find it odd that Jesus Christ would be symbolized as a partridge; a hen would make more sense.
Matthew 23:37 --->
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”
What are the “seven sacraments,” exactly (and seven gifts of the Holy Spirit”?
There’s actually just one fruit of the Spirit, but it has nine qualities.
Galatians 5:22-23 --->
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
As much as the symbolism here doesn’t make any sense, the most glaring omission is that of the cross. Does Christ’s payment for our sins not deserve so much as a single verse? Just like every other Christmas song, this leaves out the revelation of the mystery first given to Paul; how we can be saved by Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and not be in bondage to the law, or any covenants.
1 Corinthians 2:2 --->
“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”
This is pretty much why I don’t make a huge deal about Christmas anymore; it preaches the Bible...but misses the gospel.

are there any common misconceptions about catholicism?
Yes, just as there would be about any system, religion, or belief. One, however, that I should point out, is that people often mistake Catholicism for Bible-believing Christianity, which it isn’t. Here are some examples:
- Tradition is exalted to the level of Scripture.
http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__PL.HTM
Under Point 82, it says that the church can’t derive all the truth from scripture alone, which in itself is a contradiction of scripture, and blasphemy against God’s word.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 —>
“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
There is not one jot in that passage about “sacred tradition.” There are good traditions that the scripture teaches (2 Thessalonians 2:15), but they don’t come from the Catholic Church. On top of that, that verse in 2 Thessalonians says nothing about traditions that reveal extra truth that scripture doesn’t teach. More unscriptural traditions that the Catholic Church teaches include the office of Pope, as well as monks, nuns, cardinals, praying the rosary, exalting Mary, revering the saints, and other things that don’t appear in the Bible. If Paul were referring to these traditions in his epistle, then shouldn’t we find them in scripture?
- Neither the Apostles’ Creed, nor the Nicene Creed, mention Paul, even though it is through Paul’s writings alone we find the doctrine of the church, the body of Christ.
http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P13.HTM
Salvation, as every Christian (should) know, comes by believing on Jesus’ death and bloodshed for our sins, His burial, and resurrection for our justification. However, neither creed states that our forgiveness of sins comes through His work on the cross. They talk about what happened to Jesus, and they mention forgiveness of sins, but they do not link the two. The Apostle Paul reveals this gospel to us in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. Without Paul, there is no Christianity, and neglecting his God-inspired writings leaves us in the dark, without hope, and without salvation. The Apostle Paul is supposed to be our doctrinal pattern, not “Pope Peter.”
1 Timothy 1:15-16 —>
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.”
Paul was given the revelation of the mystery, and the gospel by which we are established in Christ (Romans 16:25), but both creeds neglect and omit this crucial detail. So by their own creeds, they deny the only gospel that can save them.
- They cite Mary as the “Mother of the Church,” even though the Bible teaches that only Christ is its head.
http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P2C.HTM
Throughout Paul’s writings, not one word is spoken about Mary being the mother of the church. Even in the four gospel accounts, Mary is never given that title to the believing Jews that comprised of the “little flock.” (Luke 12:32) Mary was the mother of Jesus, but only in the flesh. There is no possible way she could be the mother of anything spiritual because she was not some special “spiritual being” that shares some of God’s glory. The only place Paul ever mentions her is in Galatians 4:4, and it’s not even by name, nor does he mention anything about her being a co-redeemer with Christ, or “the mother of the church.” Such language is blasphemous. Only Christ is our head, redeemer, and mediator (Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 1:7, and 1 Timothy 2:5). Granting such titles to anyone else beside Him is idolatry.
There are many more examples that can be given, but these three points should be enough to prove that the Catholic Church is not a Christian Church. They may use the Bible, but they either fail to rightly divide it (2 Timothy 2:15), or just scrap it when it contradicts “sacred tradition.” I cited only this misconception because it’s very aggravating when Christians and Catholics are doctrinally grouped together in popular culture and academia, even though we are so far apart not just in doctrine, but in practice as well.
Here’s a video showing that the Catholic Church doesn’t really hold the Bible as its sole authority:

Guys, i know i say this all the time, but this is really serious. i just royally messed up, and i’m afraid i kind of ruined my own life. just so you know how serious it is, i’ll tell you the whole story. basically, me and my dad got in an argument about paganism vs Christianity, and he thought i called him an sjw. at first i figured he’d just brush it off, but then he acted like he was going to beat me up or something, so i woke my uncle up and went for a walk, figuring that when i’d come back he’d settle down. (he was/is drunk.) i heard my dad calling me back when i first left, but i stupidly decided to just keep going anyways even though i should’ve said where i was going. so when i finally got back, my dad was gone, and my uncle didn’t know where he went other than he was looking for me which i found strange considering he left through a different door than me. so we went outside and looked for him a few minutes until my uncle decided to just wait for him to come back. when he did, i figured again he’d be over it, but instead he was still mad at me and said that he was leaving. by GOD’s grace, at that time my grandmother got back to the apartment, and i went with her to try and follow him. but he sent me back and threatened to jump on the railroad tracks – a train was coming - if i didn’t. so i went back and told my grandmother to call somebody who has a car to go back to our old house, which is where i figured he’d be going. but then i realized he might’ve continued up along the railroad tracks, because that was where he said he’d go before when he threatened to leave. but my grandmother stopped me, and a few minutes later he came back. but he still hates me now. please, pray that GOD would clean up this mess i made. if i would’ve just kept my mouth shut like usual none of this would’ve happened. i don’t want it to sound like i have a terrible life or anything. which is why i’m really scared i might’ve messed up for good this time. i just really really need some serious prayers rn, because i’ve apologized already, and there’s nothing else i can do. i’m afraid he might kill himself. i don’t care if he hates me, i just don’t want him to die. he’s sleeping right now, so please pray he’ll be over this when he wakes up.
