Finally revamped my ol’ realistic canine leg tutorial! The original is HERE
*PLEASE NOTE - this is a realistic, wild canine tutorial. Meaning if you prefer stylized anatomy feel free to ignore this tutorial. Also some of the do’s and don’ts here differ from domesticated canine anatomy.
Enjoy!

Oh my g o d Zu, luv, please Teach me how you draw heels You make Dream look so good??? And every attempt I make at heels looks like the boots have been in a literal fire I bow to you Teach me the ways,,, please
Thank you! <3 This is a quick and not-so-pro tutoriel but I hope it'll help you get the hang of it (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)☆
Tumblr media
It starts with a platform which the front of the foot rests on (try standing on tiptoe to see the ratio!)
Then you draw the instep (height is up to you), not straight but slightly curved, comfortable for the foot ♪
Complete the foot with the heel (not the high one yet!)
Now it's easy to draw the high heel itself (you can make the heel thinner, Dream prefers ankle boots ;)
Finally, draw a place for the toes and (somewhere in the middle of the platform) take it up! (softly ;3)
Shoe top is up to you * Profit! ♡
Tumblr media
Foreshortening (angle) is a separate issue but as long as you remember the structure, it should work (somehow? xp) Good luck!╰(*´︶`*)╯☆

Notes from “The Animator’s Survival Kit” book.
[Pg.259 - 265]  This is the end of my book studies. I’m pretty proud to have gotten through it and do a handful of the exercises. But this is only step one, I’m moving onto more advance animation techniques and will be posting those as I complete them. At the moment I’m currently wrestling with Toon Boom, so we’ll see how that goes.

A quick guide on how I draw sleeves. Especially oversized ones. To figure out the arm’s direction, I’ll divide the arm into three sections by drawing two curved lines. I use these lines to figure out how to draw the end of the sleeve. Works every time!

I've been meaning to put together something like this for a while now! Excuse the wacky hairstyle in part 3, I was trying to show a few braid types haha.

for all of you who struggle to draw horse feet. :) You’ve gotta have those pasterns in there, as they are the horse’s main shock absorbers, as seen in the “bearing weight” example.
If you can handle an animal autopsy, here’s an interesting vid on how the muscles and joints work in the lower leg of the horse.

I created a quick walkthrough on my process! You can do the same with any digital art program and brushes you like. As always, learning comes with critical thinking and if you feel this does not apply to you, then no worries! There’s no correct way to do things as long as you achieve the results you want.
The technique can be customized with different brush types and colours, and can be as simple or heavily rendered as you so desire. I hope it helps a little! I like to do lighting like this in my own work for a sense of atmosphere.
Please ignore the fact I spelled complementary wrong, it’s been a long week ok lol

I made a lil tutorial about how I made CLOUDS for my manga-style comic, Not This Death!
The focus is on making clouds as quickly as possible so you can get to drawing other things :P
I hope it’s useful!
