Some changes/other nuances in the Japanese TS2 translation I have noticed so far

Surname comes first when hovering over the sim as in the usual Japanese style, instead of the original way where the first name comes first. 

“Woohoo” is translated as ウフフ(ufufu), which means “teehee” in English pretty much.

“Making out” from the kiss menu is translated as いちゃつく (ichatsuku) which literally translates as “flirting/to dally”

The sims series is known to be very good for language learning. Of course, there’s some funny terms there and there but i’d say any of the games are very good for language learning, maybe possibly even TS1. I definitely recommend it, if you’re on high level enough in the language! With TS2 (and i think TS3 too? I’m not sure), you can change the language with regedit, there’s a tutorial on it on Mod the sims.

Hi everyone who is still following me, i’m back!

I know i said in my last post that i will delete this blog. But i kept it always on the side because i thought it’d make it more easier for people to download my few things and also because of my reblogs of many cool cc. 

Anyway, i made this video out of pure interest. I wanted to see how TS2 is in Japanese! I know Japanese as i have studied it for years. I haven’t found many people playing the game in Japanese so i thought i should make this video. Please tell me if you are interested in seeing more videos like this! 

Sorry for my bad pronunciation in both English and Japanese and also my entry-level editing :’D 

I sadly couldn’t bother translating most of the content, but it’s the same as in English, so you probably know what the things i read out loud mean.

I have been thinking about deleting this account to be honest. Not for any dramatic reason, but i just don’t feel like posting online about my sims stuff anymore and i have way too many inactive side blogs (this is also a side blog) so i want to get rid of some of them. I know i have some downloads posted before (like the rugs and some defaults) but thankfully i think the posts will stay on Tumblr if they’re reblogged at least once by someone.

It was very nice to post sims stuff though, and i really enjoyed talking with you all about them! Maybe some day i will make a new account and post stuff again.

Sorry for not having posted in a while. Some life updates:

I got a new PC. I installed TS2 on it and it runs very nicely.

However, i don’t know if i have motivation to post anything on this blog about my current plays, i like to play more in private i guess?

So i don’t know how active this blog will be in the future.

Also, my saves are on my old PC and i’m too lazy to transfer them to my new PC. Huntsville save is still in my backups, but that hood got too big and laggy so i gave up with it. 

About saves, i haven’t really found a save since quitting Huntsville that i’ve really gotten into. I really loved Huntsville and its characters, but i feel like nothing can really replace that, even when i’ve tried to create interesting sims. This also made me lose my motivation a bit, because starting over 100 times just gets boring.

I haven’t really been feeling like playing the sims games in general, i’ve been busy with life and also had motivation for other things. 

Even if i leave this blog inactive aside some occasional posts, i will most likely keep this blog up, because i have some downloads i have made that i don’t want to disappear (except the defaults, i’m slightly unsure if those are good enough).

Cottage Living for TS4 is coming and I’m just here waiting for the conversions. My whole world is made for it. RIP downloads folder.

I opened my TS2 since forever to try out the new Story Progression mod. It was so much fun! I didn’t take screenies though since i didn’t have any other cc in. I played the PSP Strangetown hood. I would otherwise talk about what happened but sadly i don’t remember all the names of the PSP sims. But will definitely try this mod out more!

The only bug i have seen so far is the phone bug, but i reported it to the creator already and it seems like other people have had it too.

Opening Valley | A Neighborhood Based on The Sims 2 Intro | No CC

I present to you the third and final version of my neighborhood OPENING VALLEY! This version fixes all reported problems of the previous hoods including problems with randomized names and the appearance of stealth families. In addition, I have added MEMORIES AND FAMILY STORIES to all  playable characters! This total remake was a big undertaking for myself and involved a lot of time to complete, so I hope you enjoy and download the new OPENING VALLEY!

Description:

Opening Valley is a town where you are sure to recognize many familiar faces! The neighborhood takes inspiration from the intro of The Sims 2, that everyone who has played the game has seen before. Every character shown in the intro has their own unique name, story, personality and relationships. Complete with descriptions for every character, the map also features all houses and public lots from the intro as well as an additional 12 unoccupied lots, and much much more!

Information about the translation:

You have two files available to choose for your download: the English version (N277) and the Polish version (N278). The Polish Version (N278) has all text translated into Polish, regardless of the language your game is set to (i.e. if your game is set to English, all descriptions will be written in Polish). The same is true for the English version (N277), everything is given the English translation (in all languages, including Polish). This allows you to play in any combination of languages you want!

Important: The Polish version keeps the names of sims, streets and the city itself original (in English), it just translates all of the descriptions (city, sims, households, public lots).

Do pobrania dostępne są dwa pliki do wyboru: wersja angielska (N277) oraz wersja polska (N278). Obie z tych wersji będą działały poprawnie bez względu na język gry (na przykład - po pobraniu polskiej wersji wszystkie opisy będą po polsku, nawet jeśli językiem gry jest angielski). Dzięki temu możliwa jest gra w dowolnej kombinacji języków!

Ważna informacja: W polskiej wersji pozostają oryginalne imiona i nazwiska simów, nazwy ulic i miasta (po angielsku). Przetłumaczone zostają wszystkie opisy (miasta, simów, rodzin, parceli publicznych).

This map was made in its entirety by myself (and my boyfriend <3). None of the lots are premade or downloaded from other creators, however some lots do take inspiration from places in The Sims 3 (which you may recognize if you know that game well!).

How long have you been playing The sims? - Since 2004-2005! My best friend played TS2 on her birthday, i asked my parents to buy it for me as well and i was hooked when i got it!

How long have you been a simblr, and why did you become one? - I’m not sure, probably since 2017? Too lazy to check. But i fell in love with simblrs (i have loved to read TS2 stories on like blogspot etc. ever since i was small) and i wanted to record something about my old BACC so i did.

What type of Simblr are you? - Gameplay mostly. I don’t take really aesthetic or pretty pictures, i just like to have a place where i can have my challenges written on.

Which generation of Sims do you play primarily play? - The sims 2 of course~ I do own all the gens, but i never really got into the other ones.

And now, a simple top :-) This is a mesh edit of @webluepeace​‘s 4t2 dress. @jennysmiths​ requested a cropped version of the dress for me to convert, but once I realized it had already been converted and was an edit of a sims 4 mesh, it was a lot easier!

AF only, all morphs. Uses the swatches from @simchia​‘s sims 4 mesh.
