if you told vin diesel fast and the furious you were gay he'd be like "Some people like driving stick…some people like driving automatic…what matters is you cross the finish line.." and then he'd rev up a dodge challenger and drive through a building and kill 16 people
Previous similar drops in emissions were due to periods of economic stagnation or recession--this is the first significant drop in emissions that has coincided with GDP growth.
The majority of this decline is due to changes in energy use and generation. Coal demand has dropped nearly to 1900s levels, while use of renewables grows significantly--for the first time renewables accounted for half of the energy generated in "advanced economies" included in this analysis.
In much better and happier news Bison after decades of hard work and conservation efforts from indigenous organizations have finally been released back on our lands after 150 years.
I saw this video live and cried my eyes out. This is so important. Despite it all we survived. We're still here and the possibility to heal the land and ourselves is always there even if it will take time.
Edit: I'm very happy that people love this post but my other less happy educational posts are also just as important
I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.
Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.
“If you’re going to face Maul, you’ll need these. I took care of them; they’re good as new. Maybe a little better.” ― Anakin Skywalker in The Clone Wars, season 7, episode 9: “Old Friends Not Forgotten”
“Anakin knows enough about lightsabers to be able to alter the angle or frequency of the saber blade, or crystal, to make it more like his own. As far as the story goes, I wanted to show a clear connection between the master and apprentice relationship of Anakin and Ahsoka, so I decided to shift her lightsabers to blue, like Anakin’s. Him tinkering with her lightsabers while she is gone shows that he was always thinking of her, and the lightsabers are then a representation of her in the story, and his thoughtfulness regarding her. His changing the color can also be seen as him exerting control, or being too protective, which is very Anakin. He means well, but often takes things too far when trying to express how he feels. Changing the sabers, modifying them, improving them, shows his care, but also his ego – something that Ahsoka is familiar with.” ― Dave Filoni
When ants die, a few days later they emit oleic acid, which tells the living ants to dispose of their corpse.
A myrmecologist named Ed Wilson discovered this and dropped the chemical on a living ant. It was immediately carried off, despite the fact that it was still moving, and clearly not dead.
