What if Fyodor found Atsushi first (Headcanons):

If I recall correctly Atsushi was a big item of interest from early on in the underground. In Dead Apple (movie or manga I'm not sure which) there is a mention that Fyodor was the one that directed Shibusawa to experiment on Atsushi to begin with. As Shibusawa was seeking the "ultimate ability".

I have no doubt Fyodor was keeping very close tabs on that whole endeavor. So perhaps after Shibusawa's death and after learning that Beast did in fact emerge- he made the split decision to fly the little tiger over to Russia through his associates. (Since Fyodor was most likely not in Japan at that point, this is taking place as far as 6 years prior).

In all honesty- I think Fyodor would be pretty good at raising Atsushi?? I do think Atsushi's time in Russia will be short-lived. But Fyodor would've liked to have a throughout imprint on the boy since he was much younger. The subtle manipulation would start here, building a vague sense of familiarity if they both can connect a starting point in Russia, from here both going to Japan together as opposed to Fyodor going alone to meet Atsushi in the boy's homeland.

At first I think this odd type of adoption (kidnapping) would be cold, strict buisness for Fyodor. Atsushi would represent nothing more than a powerful asset held close-by in order to preserve its use.

Of course that's untill Atsushi's pure innocence and kindness shatters through Fyodors ignorance.

And I think it would soften Fyodor. After everything Atsushi has been put through by other people in his powerless youth ...- he wasn't like Fyodor, he hadn't turned out spiteful, vengeful..cold and unfeeling. I believe this would cause Fyodor's distant cold nature to crack- unlike with Nikolai or Ivan, even Sigma and Shibusawa too.. this boy wasn't deranged or problematic. He was a pure soul used and abused- that was slightly infuriating now, wasn't it.

Ironically I believe Fyodor would do a good job of guiding Atsushi through taming the Beast or becoming closer to it. Over time I also see Atsushi being the only person associated with Fyodor to not mind the deadly nature of the russian's ability.

I imagine a "Fyodor raised Atsushi" would have picked up on Fyodor's emotional control. His personality being rather mellow but empathetic unlike his mentor's. Atsushi would be emotionally controlled and dim. The most emotion he'd show while in confidence with Fyodor.

His wardrobe would've been provided by Fyodor, in an effort to disassociate Atsushi from Japan and instead form a steady connection to himself and Russia itself. Manipulating Atsushi, in a fundamental sense, of belonging only by Fyodor's side.

All in all- I think this would be a much more interesting mentor/student pair than Dazai and our Atsushi ngl-

- dream is just a tiny tiny child and the entire dsmp is just his babysitters amusedly playing pretend with him but in dreams eyes its like how the canon is

- his fav playmate is tommy (theatre-choir-band kid trifecta extraordinaire who enjoys playing with him) which is why this is how their story is like so ingrained with each other

- tommy comes over and hes like tommy :DD cmon we awe in pwinson

- and tommy just goes along with it. tommy making dream write his books is just a fun way of making a kindergartener do homework

- throwing the books in “lava” where they’re actually just throwing it in their homework box that has lava drawings taped on it

- the clock is just a stim toy which is why dream likes it so much

- the egg is when uncle bbh comes over and tells spooky stories which dream delights in cause its abt an egg

- techno comes over and he immediately goes u are an anawchist and techno goes where did you learn that and never gets an answer so he just goes along with it

- he ropes techno and phil into knocking over the building blocks/lego shit that is lmanburg

- he likes to tease dream abt not having a house so dream spitefully builds a pillow fort

- he headbutts tommy and "kills" him the goes boom! ur dead now go talk to wilby

- the mushroom house burning is when tommy and ranboo accidentally knock over the lego house george was building for dream

- while goerge couldnt care less dream like pouts about it and tattles to tubbo and demands he “exile them”

- dream saving techno from execution is literally just dragging techno away from talking to big q (who was prolly going on abt homework) and is like ur not dead! totem here ur alive now! go ride horsie!!

- and he forces techno to sit on those rocking horse things which he also forced techno to name (carl)

- he gets puffy to buy him a polar bear stuffy and it wasnt for him?? he just gave it to techno and also forced him to name it??

- he refuses to call sapnap anything but pandas

- how did puffy adopt dream? exactly how you would expect

- puffy went with niki for a charity bake for orphans and this one kid whos tripping over his shoelaces and has an oversized hoodie just keeps following her like a duckling

- and when they left puffy looked back and hes just there by the orphanage doorway staring at her leaving with the saddest eyes

- and shes like,, i cant do this,, niki we need a kid

- puffy asks dream why he followed her and he just goes “need protectin’!”

- he takes on look at phil and his wings and immediately goes birdie!!

- okay but him taking tubbos hand and dragging him to ranboo then taking ranboos hand and making them hold hands then just pronouncing them married

- tommy meets sam via dream and now he has two dads and since this is fluffy both sam and phil are chill about sharing tommy

- tommy: accidentally calls sam dad in front of phil

- tommy: panik

- phil: haha lmao ur gonna get dadded twice

- techno: double the dad jokes LLLLL

- wilbur's "death" is just phil walking in on them making a mess and him seeing whats going on and playing along

- they ask who dreams fav playmate is and he immediately points at tommy

- gogy and sapnap are like aww why not us and dream is like ur not playmates ur family and they die on the spot

- spirit is an old dog dream befriended :((

- the i dont care abt spirit speech is him throwing a tantrum cause hes sad spirit passed away and tommy is trying to console him

- the community house is a drawing he made when he was first opening up to george and sapnap (it got torn but puffy taped it up later on)

- he likes making ranboo do things for him

- prison was supposed to be time out but sam gave in to the sad pout and let a few ppl come over every now and then but it devolved to tommy coming over all the time

- puffy on a call with phil and dream stealing the phone and begging techie to break him out of jail

- him techno and tommy playfighting sapnap and co. over a stuffed fish

- foolish: comes over one (1) time

- dream: u r my brother now

- the exile party is dream getting the dates for tommys birthday wrong and when no one showed up he immediately went to console a very confused tommy

- and is like its ok we can get cake :DD mama will get us cake

- and tommy doesnt understand what’s happening until dream makes him blow the candle

- manhunts are just hide and seek

- deal or no deal is just dream writing numbers on paper and it dictates how many candies he’s giving you

- he’s so spoiled but he somehow grows up so nice

- him shakily signing ily to callahan cause he wants to talk to him too

- friend and henry used to be just pretend pets of wilbur and tommy until dream got puffy to sew him actual stuffed animals

- karl going around to take notes for the school paper and dream waddles along and pretends theyre time travelling

- dream when hes following karl meeting corpse and is like ah yes we are now husbands and have a child together gestures at tubbo who just happened to be standing close to them

- dream,, dream singing along with big q during karaoke

- punz does stuff for dream in exchange for trinkets like a ring pop or a shiny stone
