Titled: *The Butterfly* As Dammtorfriedhöfe or cemeteries in front of the Dammtor the burial places of the inner city Hamburg parishes or the Jewish community were called, which were outside the Hamburg city fortifications between the Dammtor and the Sternschanze. They were created during the 18th century and used until the beginning of the 20th century. These included initially the cemeteries of the four main churches of St. Catherine, St. Nicholas, St. Peter and St. Michael, the two monasteries of St. John and Mary Magdalene and the former "Pesthof" in today's St. Pauli (see map of 1810 ). Later, other burial places for the Catholic community (1813), the Reformed churches (1825), the St. Pauli suburban church (1834) and St. Gertrud added.
