Now that I've slept on it, I think TTPD is my favorite TS album yet. It's vulnerable and lyrically genius, and those are the aspects I appreciate most in music! Sure, the sonic elements aren't groundbreaking, they're similar to things we've heard before, but I personally don't need or want reinvention of the wheel.

The derangement caused by immense heartbreak, and the conjunction of multiple heartbreaks to exacerbate that, is masterfully calamitous. It's a work about the human habit of struggling both against and because of growth and change, and we all know, old habits die screaming!

Someone is prob gonna say I misunderstood the whole thing or something, bc nobody can agree on anything. So just FYI, this is how I interpret the themes and imagery of the album, if you interpret the central thesis to be something else do tell, just don't be a dick about it!

Fuck, I wish you would!

I wish you would let this inspire you. I wish that seeing a piece of abstract art would move you to self expression.

I wish you would go to the craft store, buy a cheap canvas and some cheap paint and let yourself play with color and form just to see if you can.

I wish that there were more amateur painters, trying their hand at geometric abstraction and color field painting. That would be so fucking cool.

"I could make that" should be a joyous revelation, not a snarky dismissal.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.
