How it came to be is complicated. Or, well, it is for humans to understand. Like every other siren, as a dying and endangered specie, you are able to reproduce without partners. But now, bearing a child inside you and still on the run, you are much more vulnerable to Hunters.

You are aware that there is only one solution. You need someone to clam your child as their own, in order to shield you and most importantly the tiny being growing inside you from the Hunters.

You have set your eyes on the covens, in the hopes of finding a mate among the most well known and respected coven members. It will be a difficult journey, but one you need to take.

In the meantime, you’ll skin alive anyone who even dares to touch you.

Note: the game is in its planning stage. As such, the characters could still undergo changes. Suggestions or preferences are welcomed.

Balaar [M/F]:  a very far descendant of dymons, with only a few traits left of the being that tainted their bloodline. They are head of the biggest coven you know of, known for their stunning beauty and ability to either scare hunters away or gather huge masses to follow them till death.

They are very tall, lean, with pale skin, white iridescent hair, grey eyes and silver horns.

Kalyja [M/F]: compared to the brutal nature of sirens, lycans are no more than overgrown pups. This lycan descendant, though, seems to be even more docile than most. They thrive on praise, loyal to a fault. You wonder how far, though, their limits lie and if at one point they will snap back.

They have a powerful body, with a curly mane of auburn hair, hazel eyes and onyx skin.

Varie [genderfluid]: a kraken descendant, their mythical body horrifying, their appearance described as far from anything considered beautiful. Still, despite their public appearances being very rare, they are well known for having survived a total of eight hunts.

They have a full, soft figure, dark purple eyes, dark hair and dark skin.

Chapter Ten and the Epilogue are out!

Hey everyone!

This announcement is basically just what it says on the tin. You can now play the last part of the game. Here's the link if you don't have it handy.

I don't think there are any particular content warnings for this one other than Zeus existing, but my brain is kind of scrambled eggs right now, so if I've forgotten something, please let me know.

I feel like I should have some thoughts here about actually being finished with the game, but either because of the brain-eggs thing or because I still have a lot of editing to do, it's hard to think of myself as done.

Just a few things I've been getting questions about clarified in one place:

FoA's first draft will remain where it is, as it is, complete and free, until I submit the edited version for publication. I estimate this will be about three months, (so until March 1, 2024), but can't say that for sure.

The second draft will bring about substantive changes both from a game design standpoint (various systems) and a character standpoint (some pacing things are going to change, particularly with the romances that probably should be a little bit faster paced than they are. A smidge.)

I may or may not be doing a closed beta test for the second draft. That's not me being coy, that's me genuinely not knowing if I will.

There will be one sequel. I will begin working on it immediately after FoA is submitted for publication.

If you want to follow the editing process, I will probably be summarizing my progress monthly here, but I will be going into much more detail and previewing the edits on my Patreon. No pressure ever; that's just an option if you'd like to see more or support me as I go.

Thank you, everyone, for your support, critiques, and suggestions. They've already made FoA a much better game than it would have been without you, and I'm looking forward to getting the chance to take more of them on board as I move through this next part of things.

Dev. update for Pt. 2

Hey all!

Hope you enjoyed the CT:OS update (Pt. 1)!

I'm back home from my trip, which means I've gone back to writing and editing in preparation for Pt. 2!

As Pt. 1 was a little delayed, and I didn't do much writing or editing while on holiday, Pt. 2 release will likely be closer to the end of the month / next month, but I'll firm up the release dates closer to when I've gotten everything written and have sent it out for beta-testing.

Good news though, is that because I'm pushing back the dates a bit, I'm aiming to add some extra content that I hadn't planned to fit into pt. 2... which means you'll all definitely get the Sam kiss you've been waiting for ;)

For now, here are the tentative release dates:

Beta-testers: 28 Oct Early-release: 4 Nov Public release: 11 or 18 Nov

Lastly, I'll push out an edited version of CT:OS to the public demo around the same time that I release Pt. 2 to beta-testers, so if there are errors or bugs from Pt. 1 that you think I haven't quite fixed yet, do let me know.

The big shot on campus, Jaime is beloved by everyone. That being said, there’s something about them that doesn’t quite add up. Will you be able to tear down their mask, and see them as the thief they are?

The center of entertainment, Minh is the one who draws in laughter and fun. Trouble is their middle name, and you can’t help but feel like another target for their mischief. Will you reclaim your glasses, and show them that not every joke is funny?

The demo to Apartment 502 is here!

It's been a long road. First thank you for your patience and understanding. 502 has been delayed so much mostly due to my own resistance, but it's here!

The demo is the pilot episode and I consider this an introduction. Episode 1 is when things really start to move but I wanted a good start just to introduce some key characters.

What to expect:

This is a WIP that I have changed constantly. There may be errors or typos/mistakes and if there are, please let me know, especially if there are parts where it may seem like a passage or scene was skipped.

You can probably tell where I started frantically deleting and changing plot points lol. The next update, this demo will probably be rewritten and updated but we'll see. I just wanted to get this out because if I didn't, I never would.

Our Life Now & Forever: Polyamorous Relationship Feature Announcement!

So, I’ve changed my own mind! You will be able to end up in a relationship with both Qiu and Tamarack if you want to when Our Life: Now & Forever is fully released. I originally didn't guarantee a polyamorous relationship option because I didn’t know for sure if it'd be possible to add it without pushing the game back, however this story would simply feel incomplete without that. It was very obvious when writing the Step 2 preview for the soon-to-release demo update. Qiu, Tamarack, and the MC are as important as a group as they are in individual pairings. It has to be done. Besides, tons of choice and having relationships be whatever makes you most comfortable is why people wait years for GB Patch to finish these games in the first place, haha.

Now, the way the optional poly relationship will work is that Qiu and Tamarack would be in a committed platonic relationship with each other and can be in a committed platonic or romantic relationship with the MC. Qiu and Tamarack won’t be romantically involved with each other regardless of the choices the MC makes.

This relationship dynamic will only be available in Step 4: Adulthood. It won’t be something you can get together during the bulk of the story because Qiu and Tamarack do need time to sort things with each other over the years before taking that kind of step.

Nothing is going to change with our plans so far. Our Life: Now & Forever will have a Kickstarter that's launching less than two weeks. If everything goes well, the goal will be to release the first three Steps and most of the DLCs in late 2025. The Step 4 Epilogue with the poly relationship option and any bonus DLCs that get funded by the Kickstarter would come out later on.

You've been ice skating as long as you can remember.

Your mother is well known in the community as one of the most talented skaters in her generation, and you and your brother had quickly followed in her footsteps.

The two of you are called 'prodigies', something that inflates your brother's ego more than needed, and you're both due to preform in the qualifying competitions and make your way to nationals.

Everything has been going perfect for you your whole career, nothing will go wrong now, right?

Wrong, apparently. Because two months before the first competition is set to take place your brother suffers a nasty fall and acquires an injury that prevents him from ever skating again.

You swear off of competitive ice skating and the following competition out of solidarity, but it appears quitting something you've done your whole life isn't easy, especially if someone is trying to prevent you from doing so in the first place.

A customizable main character, including gender, pronouns, personality, physical appearance, family relationships, college major, part time job, and more.

Decide how you acted inside the rink, were you cocky and arrogant? Shy and modest? Stoic and competitive?

Choose between four romantic options - decide if your best friend's loyalty to you goes deeper than friendship, try to figure out your self proclaimed rival's mixed signals, indulge or ignore the newbie ice skater who seems determined to get to know you, or rekindle an old relationship* with your coach's son.

Deal with your families reaction to you choosing to give up ice skating. Will you focus on your sister's and mom's support or how the decision negatively impacts your brother and mother?

Noel Watanabe [RO, they/them]: Since your first meeting when you were both 12, where the judges scored you one point higher than them, Noel has claimed themselves as your 'rival'. They certainly play the part— well sometimes. Between bringing you food after practice and completely ignoring you, their hot-and-cold personality practically gives you whiplash. When they heard you were quitting the sport, they were enraged. Will you dig deeper into your relationship with your so called rival?

Hallie/Harlow Mitchell [RO, gender selectable]: After deciding to take a gap year against their parents wishes, H finds themselves spending their (would be) fall semester in Illinois. You first run into them, quite literally. A blur of bright orange knocking you flat on your back isn't he way you were looking to get your mind off of your problems but it worked. And if it hadn't the sound of H profusely apologizing certainly did. They seem to follow you everywhere you allow them to after that. Will their attempts to motivate you to skate again lead to something more?

Sadie/Spencer Williams [RO, gender selectable]: Your best friend since your first year in middle school. They've seen all the parts of you that you keep hidden from others, for better or for worse. While never picking up ice skating themselves S has never missed one of your games as long as they've known you. S has always been loyal and supportive of you, almost to a fault, but that all changes when you tell them you're giving up skating. Will you find out why your normally laid back best friend is passionate about getting you to skate again?

Valerio 'Val' Diaz [RO, he/him]: Coach Diaz had introduced the two of you after your third lesson, convinced you would become quick friends. He was right, of course, at least for a while. Valerio was obliviously quite a bright kid; helping you with homework during breaks at practice, studying with you before lunch, spending your sleepovers going over multiplication tables rather than telling secrets. It was something you'd always admired about him until— well, you'd rather not get into it. Your old friend seems to think otherwise, if the speed he comes back into your life after hearing about your plans to quit skating is anything to go by. Will you be able to forgive and let your old friend (or more) back into your life?
