Cobra Kai Characters' and their Enneagram types Part Two
I recently made a post about the Cobra Kai characters' Enneagram Types so this is Part Two about the other characters.
Once again, this is clearly my opinion based on what I've observed about the characters so you might not agree with them, but I still hope you enjoy this post.
Enneagram 6 (The Loyalist)
The Loyalists are individuals that have a strong desire to have security, guidance and support. However, their core fear is losing their security or being abandoned. This type is in the Head Triad because they are centered around thinking and their dominant emotion is fear, but they turn to the outside world for security. These people are loyal, trustworthy, hardworking, responsible, courageous, and friendly.
The reason they are reliable is because they grew up with a lack of stability, Enneagramtest.com states, "Enneagram Six childhood wounds stem from a lack of stability in their early lives. The typical childhood scenario for Sixes is growing up with caregivers who weren’t consistent and reliable in providing care and affection. They also failed to provide a sense of protection and safety to Sixes, who therefore concluded that the world is a dangerous place."
Miguel Diaz, Kenny Payne, and Eli Mosckowitz "Hawk" are definitely The Loyalist. I know the childhood description doesn't click with them especially Miguel since he definitely grew up with an affectionate mother and grandmother, but they did grow up with instability in their lives. For example, both Kenny and Miguel didn't have their father in their household, while Eli grew up with a physical abnormality. Now I know many would think that Robby would be included in this list especially since he also grew up without a father figure, but he never looks for guidance from anyone like Miguel, Hawk or Kenny. In fact, Robby usually goes through his problems all alone making him fall under a different type.
Enneagram 7 (The Enthusiast)
The Enthusiast are people who have a very powerful desire to feel fulfilled, and their core fear is being deprived or in pain. They are in the Head Triad because they are constantly thinking, and their dominant emotion is fear, but these individuals will distract themselves from fear or other negative emotions by actively seeking out new experiences or focusing on the positive aspects of life.
These individuals are energetic, optimistic, spontaneous, charming, confident, visionary and enthusiastic. The reason they are like that because in their childhood they learned that they had to depend on themselves. Enneagramgift.com states, "Enneagram Sevens experience a childhood wound rooted in a perceived absence of nurture and support. Consequently, they adopt a belief that they can only depend on themselves to fulfill their needs, leading to a constant pursuit of happiness and avoidance of discomfort."
Kyler and Terry Silver are definitely Enthusiast. Terry Silver is very visionary while Kyler has shown to be enthusiastic, they also seem to enjoy new experiences as well.
Enneagram 5 (The Investigator)
The Investigators are thinkers who desire to be knowledgeable and competent. They are also in the Head Triad and dominantly feel fear but unlike the others, they repress it so they seek intellectual understanding to feel secure. These people are perceptive, independent, innovative and analytical. The reason they became like that is because in their childhood they were overlooked so they needed to be independent and self sufficient to survive.
Psychologyjunkie.com states, "In childhood, Fives felt ambivalent towards both their parental figures. They were never quite sure what their place was and where they belonged. Essentially, they felt like “odd ducks,” forever on the outside looking in rather than nurtured and accepted as one of the group...Parents may have been alcoholic, abusive, or played favorites. In other situations, it could have been that they just didn’t feel understood, or they picked up on clues that made them feel a particular way even if their parents didn’t intend for it to be so."
Even though, we don't know much about Demtri's home life, it's fair to assume that Demetri and Anthony are most likely this type since they display the traits of the Investigator.

Cobra Kai Characters' and their Enneagram types
I love Cobra Kai so much and enjoyed SEASON 6 as well so I decided to write out their potential Enneageam types.
Now I want to be clear that this is my opinion, so you might not agree with me, but I still hope that this post will be helpful and you will enjoy it as well.
Enneagram 1 (The Reformer)
The Reformer are individuals that have a strong desire to be good and their core fear is being bad/wrong. This type is in the gut triad, because they have instinctual energy, and their dominant emotion is anger, but they repress it. These people are critical, hardworking, principled, organized, honest, and absolute perfectionists.
The reason they are like that is because in their childhood, they learned that it wasn't okay to make a mistake. Psychreel.com states, "Enneagram One as children felt harshly criticized, punished, or inadequate. It’s possible that the household rules were incongruent. As a result, they grew preoccupied with being perfect and avoided making mistakes in order to escape being judged. “You should always strive to be better than you really are,” was the main theme."
Kim Da-Eun, Devon Lee, Chozen Toguchi and John Kreese are definitely Reformers. Now I know it seems strange that John Kreese, Kim Da-Eun, Chozen Toguchi or Devon Lee would be a Reformer but when you consider some hints that they throw out, you can see it. For an example, Kim Da-Eun always speaks on being absolutely perfect, Devon Lee mentioned that she strives to not make the same mistake twice, Chozen always speaks about having honor, and John Kreese always talks as if his way is the right way.
I also want to mention that all of them have always shown to be calm and collected unless provoked and they show a desire to want to do the right thing as well. As an example, Devon felt very guilty about unintentionally humiliating Kenny until she finally confessed to him about what she did or even how Kreese readily defends others like Terry Silver, his late girlfriend Betsy, Tory and Kim when they were in danger or abused.
(I couldn't get a gif of Chozen Toguchi, it won't let me add another gif)
Enneagram 9 (The Peacemaker)
The Peacemaker are individuals that have a core desire to create inner peace and harmony with themselves and the world around them. Meanwhile, their core fear is being in conflict, tension or feeling shut out and losing connection with others. The Peacemaker also has instinctual energy and their dominant emotion is anger but they numb themselves to it until they lash out. These people are creative, supportive, empathetic, and very accepting.
The reason why they're very accommodating is because in their childhood they learned that it wasn't okay to assert themselves and that their presence or opinions didn't matter. 9wing1.com states, "They fear that if they express their opinions or needs, they will be rejected and cause conflict. This fear can lead to a tendency to avoid confrontation and merge with others' opinions and desires. They doubt their ability to assert themselves and often feel overlooked or ignored."
Daniel LaRusso, Aisha Robinson and Moon are definitely Peacemakers. There are multiple times that they tried to de-escalate tense situations because they want to keep the peace with others. I also noticed that Daniel, Aisha and Moon are initially welcoming towards others, and even forgiving towards people who have wronged them as well.
Now, Moon has shown to merge with her friend Yasmine and she also appears passive but she also is very friendly, sociable and accepting. Meanwhile, Daniel and Aisha have shown to have a temper, however Aisha will confront the issue and Daniel will try to avoid it until he lashes out.
All in all, they definitely display the traits of the Peacemaker.
Enneagram 8 (The Challenger)
The Challenger are individuals that have a desire to be strong in order to guard against injustice. The core fear of a Challenger is being vulnerable or powerless because they fear being controlled. The Challenger also has instinctual energy so they dominantly feel anger, but compared to the other members of the Gut Triad, they are more in tune with their anger and more willing to express it. These people are confident, strong, protective, inspiring, independent, and confrontational.
The reason these people become Challengers is because in their childhood they learned it was never okay to let their guard down. Enneageamgift.com states, "Eights bear a childhood wound originating from insecure relationships with parental figures ... This instability propels Eights to adopt the role of the protector, compensating for the absence of guidance and positive leadership."
The Challengers are definitely Tory Nichols, Mike Barnes, Kwon Jae-Sung and of course Johnny Lawrence. There are multiple times that these people showed the traits of the Challenger like how all of them are rebellious which shows the fear of being controlled. They are also very intimidating as well because of their temper but their anger has led to them getting into trouble.
They also struggle with being vulnerable especially Tory, but they later on learned to overcome that. Sadly, Kwon never got the chance to reach that point in his life, but he definitely showed strong traits of The Challenger like the others for this type.
I'm going to make a Part 2 for the other characters. I hope this was informative too and interesting too!!

Coraline is actually exposing what happens in a relationship with a Narcissist (Part 1)
Coraline had always been one of my favorite movies, so I couldn't help watching it again but this time I noticed that the movie was exposing what happens in a relationship with a narcissist.
Narcissists are individuals that are extremely self-centered which makes them have grandiosity, they lack empathy for others as well as seek validation and attention from people too. So, The Beldam is clearly a narcissist, but what gave that away for me is when she love- bombs Coraline in the beginning.
Verywellhealth.com states, "... the love bomber showers their partner with gifts, praise, and other gestures that appear flattering on the surface. However, these tactics are manipulative, meant to groom their partners, isolate them from friends and family, and secure themselves as the most critical person in their partner's life. The goal is to ultimately make their partner emotionally and socially dependent."
The Beldam immediately used the manipulative tactic on Coraline when she arrives in The Other World. She makes her minions shower the young girl with attention while she gives her gifts and affection, making Coraline become enamored by the romanticized world.
Now the reason Coraline is easily manipulated by the Beldam is because she gets ignored by her parents. They are constantly busy with work so they never make time for her, and they often dismiss her when she speaks to them too. Of course, she begins to feel frustrated and possibly invalidated by her parents which makes her the perfect target for The Beldam.
Medium.com stated, "Narcissists are adept at identifying vulnerability in potential targets. They have an uncanny ability to spot people who may be emotionally fragile, insecure, or experiencing a challenging period in their lives."
The Beldam successfully manipulates her into wanting to live in the mystical world by exploiting her desire for attention and affection. However, when she attempts to convince her to sew buttons into her eyes and Coraline rejects her, that's when The Beldam's true form and motivations begin to surface.
Coraline learns that she truly desires to consume her life like her previous victims, the three ghost children, which actually represents narcissistic supply.
Kaminiwood.com states, "Narcissistic supply represents a form of emotional dependency where the narcissist requires constant validation and admiration in order to feel good about themselves. A narcissist has an inflated self-image and needs someone to constantly feed their ego. So, they will deliberately target people sensitive to their superficial charm and charisma, susceptible to manipulation, and vulnerable to narcissistic abuse. Because they cannot connect healthily with other people, narcissists seek for narcissistic supply."
There are various ways that narcissists get their supply like being abusive, exploitation, dominating or controlling others, and even feeding off of others' emotional energy. They don't want to get rid of anyone that offer them supply, because they need it to boost their ego and self-esteem.
Now, the Beldam might not do all of that, but she does want supply, so she reacts passive aggressively towards Coraline when she rejects her. Instead of letting her go home, she traps Coraline in The Other World, and attempts to lock her away but Coraline ends up getting away and returning to her reality.
There is a lot more subtle representations or symbolisms in the movie that I noticed, but I'm going to dig a little deeper next time. All in all, I hope that this was helpful to anyone that wants to learn more about narcissist and even gain some insight to some of the tactics that are used when in a relationship with them.

Felix is a victim of Stockholm Syndrome
Sorry to crush you Panlix shippers' hearts, but I had to say it after rewatching the series. The sad part is that the psychological damage went over everyone's heads including ourselves when we watched the tv show. We were thinking that he was simply a devoted servant to Pan, maybe even a friend and some of us were probably annoyed with him for his loyalty too, but he was really experiencing Stockholm Syndrome.
According to goodtherapy.org, Stockholm syndrome is NOT a psychological diagnosis but an emotional response of individuals that were held captive. The victim might be treated with kindness by their captor then the individual starts to experiences love, empathy or a desire to protect their captor and will show negative feelings towards anyone that tries to rescue them.
Heathline.com states, "Over the course of time, some victims do come to develop positive feelings toward their captors. They may even begin to feel as if they share common goals and causes. The victim may begin to develop negative feelings toward the police or authorities. They may resent anyone who may be trying to help them escape from the dangerous situation they’re in."
Neverland doesn't let anyone off the island unless Pan allows it, so Felix most likely has been trapped there for years (but he doesn't know it since time stands still there) and he began to develop a false admiration towards his captor.
The disturbing thing is that he died completely unaware that he was suffering from the syndrome, and nobody will ever know either.

Bakugo Katsuki suffers from Bordeline Personality Disorder
Bakugou Katsuki suffers from Bordeline Personality Disorder (BPD), let me explain. This is a simple theory of mine that I began to devise after recently finishing the anime and watching the movies, so I'm not a psychologist that is diagnosing him. Some people probably already developed the theory, and others might feel like this is absolute nonsense since he’s a simple character that was written to be a complete jerk. However you feel when reading this post, please DO NOT diagnose yourselves. If you identify with some of the symptoms, please seek a professional for help.
BPD is a serious mental health disorder that affects the individuals behaviors, moods and relationships. The personality disorder is more common in women than men and it typically begins to develop in early adulthood, but that doesn’t mean that men or children are completely exempt from the disorder. According to the DSM, borderline personality disorder can be diagnosed in adolescents or even children under age 18 as long as formal criteria are met.
Now, I'm going to be honest with everyone and admit that I genuinely began thinking Bakugou might suffer from the mental disorder, after seeing his anger issues. There were countless times that he showed his anger issues, but I began thinking about the sports festival.
Specifically, when Todoroki decided NOT to use his fireside against him in their intense match. Bakugou began demanding that he used his fire on him like Deku, and he even shouted “I’ll kill you!” to him. Not only that, but he became so engulfed in rage that he was literally chained to the podium after winning the festival since he didn’t feel like it was a genuine win. Individuals that suffer from BPD have trouble with their emotions since it feels really intense to them, so they will experience intense grief instead of sadness, shame instead of mild embarrassment and rage instead of annoyance. Frontiersin.org states “studies have shown that individuals with borderline personality features are predominantly sensitive to interpersonal rejection and tend to be extremely reactive, displaying impulsive and aggressive behaviors in daily situations in which they feel excluded, abandoned, or rejected.” Bakugou has explosive anger because it feels intense to him, and he exhibits his anger and hostility towards anyone that he believes is underestimating him, since it makes him feel excluded, and rejected.
Now, this actually brings me to my second point about him possibly having the mental illness, since he actually experiences splitting and that results in his mental breakdowns. According to various psychiatrist, splitting is a psychological mechanism which allows the person to tolerate difficult and overwhelming emotions by seeing someone as either good or bad, idealized or devalued. The toxic pattern of thinking can result in mental breakdowns or “episodes” because they struggle with their self worth. The individual could feel confident in themselves one minute, but the moment that they make a mistake then they will believe that they are a complete failure. Bakugou definitely experiences splitting towards Deku, but I keep thinking about when he blames himself for All Might’s early retirement. Even though it clearly wasn’t his fault for getting kidnapped by villains, he blames himself and calls himself weak.
There’s more to my theory, but I’m going to leave it off here. PART 2 will be coming soon
