the youtube "stop drawing like this" community doesn't want you to know this but you can shade however you want forever btw. it doesn't have to make sense in fact you should actively be pissing people off with how inaccurate your light source is
I know I've probably said this before, but like, if you've ever sent me an ask, tumblr message, reply, tag, or whatever and I haven't responded to you, I promise you from the bottom of my heart that it's nothing personal and I'm not avoiding you!
I'm just not the greatest at socializing and I get overwhelmed very easily. I have a very low social battery and I do also have pretty severe memory loss/brain fog so I might see your message and think I responded or have completely forgotten it. So for that I'm super sorry!!
I just want y'all to know that I do care and I enjoy getting messages/replies/asks/stuff from y'all a lot!! I just struggle a bit with getting back to people. 🙇
This is for people heavily influenced at a young age by western animated media like Disney.
You do not need to close your lines, you do not need perfect clean lines which define all forms. You will see these things often in professional works like animation because they are designed to make things easier to animate and color.
Unless you are working in that field or directed to by your superiors, your art does not need to be pristine and clean like animation. It can often express more if it's dirty.
Recently I've noticed that people have been drawing my monster dca designs (e.g. cryptid Eclipse and moth Moon) without giving me credit or mentioning me. I want to make it clear that I want to be credited when you draw my designs.
I've worked very hard on all of them (especially cryptid Eclipse who I've spent a large part of this year designing) and they're all very important to me.
Seeing the designs being used without credit is honestly very disheartening and demotivating.. so please, if you draw them (which I'm completely fine with btw!) please credit me.
