So I’ve been struggling lately and I was re-reading the Silver Chair last night.  When Puddleglum, Eustace, and Jill are in the room with the knight (Rillian) while he is tied to the silver chair and orders them to untie him in the name of Aslan, they are obviously hesitant.  But Aslan had told them the Prince would be the first person to ask for something in Aslan’s name.  But what Jill says really stuck out to me.  “We muffed the first three signs, we dare not muff the fourth.”  And when they obeyed it, they saved Prince Rillian’s life and the lives of countless others.
Just think if the three travelers had given up after struggling and failing, just think how awful that would have been.  How beautiful that Aslan didn’t give up on them after they struggled not once, not twice, but three times.  Just because you’ve struggled a bunch and messed up, don’t give up, you can still be used to change a life <3

Edmund’s Sharpest Weapon Wasn’t His Sword
Edmund’s lethal weapon was his tongue.  In one little exchange, he thoroughly slays Miraz with words...  Edmund first asserts his position, then humbly acknowledges Peter’s position (simultaneously making a pun about his own title “just king”), next points out Miraz’s underestimation with a witty ironic remark, and finishes with a scathing roast on Miraz’s bravery.
He effortlessly makes a fool out of Miraz, all with a twinkle in his eye and a playful grin.  I can imagine Edmund meeting with many diplomats in Narnia and those who would try to take advantage of the land he would destroy with his level 100 sarcasm hidden behind that mischievous smile.
Yep, Edmund’s tongue was deadlier than his sword.

King Edmund the Ambidextrous
Can we just take a moment to appreciate what a skilled and savage swordsman Edmund is?  He’s like no I don’t need a shield, I slash the enemy with two swords, thank you very much.  I can just imagine some of the Narnian generals initially underestimating this smaller, quieter king and then being impressed when he goes out and whips up on trained infantrymen.
And don’t you think it really reflects the just and deep thinking side of Edmund that he uses strategy and skill to defeat the enemy rather than brute strength and a shield?  I mean how can you not love this left handed, ambidextrous swordsman who’s as good with swords as he is with words?

Peter had dad jokes. Edmund had sarcasm. Lucy had puns.
