“I’m thinking of quitting,” Harry says suddenly, playing with the unlit cigarette in his hands.

It’s the second time they’ve done this—met out here in the harsh chill of November. Two days ago, Harry had followed a long-ingrained urge to find out where Malfoy went, between auror training sessions, and found him on the roof of the Academy.

“Smoking?“

“That, too.”

The flash of Malfoy’s smile is brief, but real. Harry doesn’t know why it feels like a win.

H/D Erised sign-ups open July 11th!!

Sign-ups open July 11th (9AM EST | 2PM BST) (World Clock | Time Zones Converter).

Remember to thoroughly read our Rules and Guidelines and FAQ posts before you sign up! All participants are bound by the Rules and Guidelines; make sure you know what’s in them!

Sign-up forms are available here! Please make sure you are using this year’s sign-up form and that you’ve got the HTML formatting right. This makes it much easier for us to read your sign-up and match you with a great gifter and recipient!

Sign-ups are first come, first served. We will be capping the number of writers at 35. There’s no cap for artists. Proxy and placeholder sign-ups are permitted, so long as you submit your full sign-up form within 24 hours. Sign-ups are held on Dreamwidth. You don’t need a Dreamwidth account to sign up, but be aware that if you sign up via anonymous comment you won’t be able to make edits to the code or substance of your sign-up form.

Speaking of, if you make any edits to your post after your initial sign-up, you must send the mods a quick email to let us know what you’ve changed. This lets us account for it when we match you!

If you’re thinking about signing up with a collaborator and/or if you’ve dropped from the fest in the past, you must contact the mods before sign-ups to check in about eligibility.

Remember that signing up for an exchange fest means that there’s someone creating a gift tailored to your tastes, and someone else eagerly awaiting your creation! Please think carefully about your availability and make sure that you’re aware of the fest deadlines and that you can realistically meet them. (If that’s up in the air, there’s always the option of signing up as a pinch hitter!)

H/D Career Fair 2025 Prompting Begins!

Prompting: June 22 – July 4th

For this year's Fair we'd love for you to come up with prompts, write stories, create artworks and read podfics that feature creative Wizarding occupations!

The form covers the following:

Era: Hogwarts Era, post-Hogwarts, EWE, Epilogue-compliant or AU, or if that is left up to the creator Additions: List no more than three items/concepts/words to include in the fanwork Career Theme: Include at least one unusual occupation for Harry or Draco Scenario: Give a scenario/setting/etc Maximum Rating: General to Explicit

Rules and Guidelines:

You may submit up to FIVE prompts a day.

Please submit each prompt separately through the prompting form.

To self-prompt, please submit your prompt during prompting period and claim your own prompt later.

Anyone can submit prompts. You don’t have to be a Fair participant to be eligible for prompting.

If you’ve made a mistake in your prompt submission, you may send an email to fanfairmod@gmail.com to fix it.

This isn’t a gift fest; creators are not obligated to gift the work to the prompter, unless they choose to do so.

We only ask that creators are heavily inspired by the prompt; creators must not deviate from the food and travel themes listed but may adjust the prompt scenario as necessary.

*My mind at 2 am* This is the thing, I don’t think Draco’s Patronus or Animagus form should be a ferret. He should be an ermine:

• Small and aggressive.

• Not domesticated, but very cute.

• Changes color with the seasons—very Gemini of them.

• Totally the type to hold a grudge. A ferret wouldn’t hold a grudge that long.

• Has a cute, grumpy face.

• Fancy✨ — ermine/stoat fur is highly prized and associated with royalty and nobility, used in ceremonial garments and such. Very Malfoy and Black of them.

• Would absolutely bite Harry’s face off if he tried to hold it.
