Another little update,
I have decided to go back to working full-time (20-30 hours a week) in order to get my papers quicker, and without issues. It'll also provide me much more stability than now, and relieve me of unnecessary stress. Sometimes the way to our dreams is longer but time will eventually get us to where we want to be. I wish I could start my own business here & now, and f or all to go smoothly. But I grew up with a self-employed mother, and watched her struggle in ways I know how to avoid but currently do not have the means (or can take the risk) to execute it. Perhaps it's a perfectionist flaw, but I refuse to hit the ground running only to end 1000 steps behind now that I have made it so far mentally. I do hope to still have the opportunity to make it a side-gig once a week so I can still do what I love.
Sometimes we gotta be practical so we can get to the end goal, and I know this isn't even the country I wish to stay in forever, so getting my papers take first priority. It crushes me but also, relieves me of the stress. Il also have more time to build on other projects and just enjoy things again. If it takes me 5 years, then ill make those the best and fastest 5 years to have ever existed tihi.
As my grandmother once said, "Happiness is easy - it can be found anywhere and everywhere but stability is a privilege". These words were hard to hear as a 7-year-old leaving the only place she knew, my family and friends for a future I didn't ask for. But I am glad I was forced onto that plane because many years later, I will make sure to take advantage of the privileges my mother fought so hard for me to have even if it means putting my own dreams on the side for a while.
