I just love this photo of a 17 year old Marianne Dahlstrøm in 1984. She was on the Norwegian national team from it's first year in 1987 - was named captain - and played her last world championship 21 years later.

dubas literally said he doesn’t want morgan or the leafs treated as victims like can y’all stop demonizing lgbt fans for being angry when they heard what sounded like a loud and clear slur from mo and stop saying things like “i’m so relieved my fave player is innocent problem solved!” the homophobia in the nhl runs much fucking deeper than whether or not this one player said a slur and some of y’all need to shut up and realize it’s not your place and there are more important things than whether you can keep supporting a player or not. the problem is not solved and this is far bigger than whether this one guy said a slur or not.

🙌🏼 Anyone who claims hockey players don’t use that word a) is lying or b) has never played on or interacted with a men’s hockey team. It’s a problem and it needs to be addressed.

Words are wind, and this time the brought in a storm that ripped apart hockey fandom and turned us against each other. Now we must rebuild so that the next time wind comes, we stand strong and together.

So, I managed to put all my thoughts, mostly, into one place. I know a 1600 word essay isn’t the best way to reach the people. But I’m a history major it’s the only way I know how.
