A federal judge says it was illegal for the Trump administration to cancel several hundred research grants issued by the National Institutes of Health.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge ruled Monday it was illegal for the Trump administration to cancel several hundred research grants, adding that the cuts raise serious questions about racial discrimination.
U.S. District Judge William Young in Massachusetts said the administration’s process was “arbitrary and capricious” and that it did not follow long-held government rules and standards when it abruptly canceled grants deemed to focus on gender identity or diversity, equity and inclusion.

President Donald Trump's senior officials have marshaled taxpayer resources to the tune of $1 billion, just on various projects to keep Trump personally happy, Rolling Stone reported on Friday.
This comes after the president has already received widespread criticism for the self-aggrandizing aspects of his Cabinet meetings, including having them all sit in a room full of "Gulf of America" merchandise, referencing his executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
"Trump’s demands for flattery are costing a fortune," reported Ryan Bort, Asawin Suebsaeng, and Andrew Perez. His new administration is only a few months in, and already the total price of just three such initiatives — a flashy, Trump-flattering ad campaign from the Department of Homeland Security, a gigantic military parade in Washington, D.C., on Trump’s birthday, and the repurposing of a palatial airplane from Qatar as Trump’s new Air Force One that he can use in his post-presidency — will easily top $1 billion. And that’s just the beginning."

Look at the cop on the left and the puff of smoke coming from his gun. At about the 15 second mark what appears to be an ICE Agent (or LAPD) aims at the reporter and deliberately shoots her for no reason.
ACAB! 🖕
Cops don’t care if you’re white, they’ll shoot or beat anyone just for kicks. We’ve reached the stage of fascism where the state sees everyone as a target. This petite woman probably weighs 90 lbs soaking wet and this is the target he chooses? She’s not some big tough guy who is a threat. This is a deliberate and intentional message being sent to the press, “you are the enemy, back off.”
They came for people of color, they came for lgbtq, they came for immigrants, they came for Muslims, and now they’re coming for white people. Nobody is safe anywhere.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona Humane Society says state House Speaker Steve Montenegro, a Republicanis blocking a vote on a bill that aims to strengthen protections for domesticated animals.
“The Arizona Humane Society continues to fight for SB1658, an anti-cruelty bill that will help pets throughout Arizona. Despite bipartisan support, Speaker Montenegro continues to oppose the bill and has not put it on the House agenda for a vote,” the organization said in a news release Monday.
Arizona’s Family contacted Rep. Montenegro who says “all bills are receiving due consideration.” He wouldn’t say directly whether SB1658 would get another vote.
“This bill is a direct result of what became known as the Chandler 55 case,” explained Arizona Humane Society president Dr. Steven Hansen. He’s referring to the 2023 case in Chandler where April McLaughlin was accused of keeping dead dogs in her freezer and dozens of others in poor conditions. “Animals had fractured legs that they were dragging around the house. It was egregious and awful and it took almost three weeks to get a search warrant because Arizona laws were so unclear.”
