Your empty kisses hurt like thorns

Your empty touch sends icy shivers

Your empty love thunders down like a hailstorm

I regret that I’m not perfect.

I also regret the inane regrets of being imperfect .

I am glass

Uninvited thoughts crack through

Fears seep along the broken lines

Until catastrophe shatters me to pieces

Peel off the surface

Shed the ego

We become colourful silhouettes

All views turn paradisal

Knowing truth is knowing pain.

My shadow, my only companion

This deafening silence

My mind spilt into two,

One comforting the other

Once I find that all the answers I seek are within me, I am struck by an odd mixture of enlightenment and loneliness.

If I can’t accept the world for what it is,

Does it make me strong or weak?

Green

A soft shade

of growth from earth

I touch the grass

My hand tickled by its gentle blades

The green beneath my feet

Where I belong

And where I shall return to

I do not fear loving others, but I do fear letting myself be loved.

The next time I open my eyes on a new day, will the new sunrise fill the hollowness of my weary soul?

I fall in love with whomever my innate construct compels me to love,

It is not within my control,

It is what my designated spirit feels drawn to as commanded by the universe.

Is there anything else as terrifying as a human?

What other creature is capable of the evil that a human is capable of?

Pavement

On the pavement I sit

Where human shapes and shadows mingle

Into swirls of frozen frames and moving pictures

On the pavement I see

Faces of beautiful corrugations and ugly contortions

Each curve a brushstroke of unobscured emotions

On the pavement I hear

Unrestrained voices and clear whispers

Reverberating

Stories of the past

Distortion of truths and lies

Broken trust with secrets revealed

On the pavement I realize

We hide, and yet we tell all
