Tomione recs under 30k

Wanted to post recs on fics that often get overlooked - ones that are under 30k words! While I love a good epic, these days I gravitate towards tightly plotted, shorter fics/one-shots that I can read just before bed or on the bus. These are some of my favorites and are all completed.

Hard Worker by charingfae (one-shot, there's a tag of "noncon but he's pretty nice about it" lmaoo)

The WIP game is so fun!! So many interesting titles you listed! ❤️ I think pain & purity is the one I find especially intriguing 👀

aaaaargh, thats my current WIP and i got SO excited when you and @nerysdax asked about it! i couldn't decide what to show you.

it's a tribute to english and german classics of the early 19th century. it plays (strongly) with jane austen themes, but also gotthold lessing and johann w goethe. tom has chemistry with everyone in that story. it's drama, it's fun, it's banter banter banter and gets progressively darker the more tom's facade crumbles ♡

She didn't have to turn around to know who was standing behind her, savoring her moment of vulnerability. Like a little demon on her shoulder, he leaned over and breathed his poison into her ear, his words mingling with the string music in the salon. “Miss Brown has a lovely face—shaped like a heart. Such full, feminine cheeks and a longing, hungry look she casts at him. And just look at her curls—so much smoother than the yours. Actually, her hair color is quite similar yet simply less..”  “Boring?” she asked challengingly, turning her head to look at him.  He must indeed be a creature of the underworld, for with his long eyelashes and prominent cheeks, he undoubtedly had the most breathtaking profile she had ever seen. Nothing would look so seductive if it did not have impure intentions. The left side of his mouth twisted into a subtle, devious grin as he shot her a calculating glance from the corner of his eye. “You heard that, didn't you? My conversation with Mr. Malfoy.”  Somewhere in the room, Miss Brown giggled loudly. Enraged, Hermione turned to face him completely, not minding how close they now stood. Arms crossed infront of her, she lifted her nose defiantly and looked at him with as much contempt as she could muster.  “I would have recognized your true colors even without that."  His grin disappeared and was replaced by a look of shock—obviously feigned. He gently raised his hand and placed it on his chest, as if he intended to apologize sincerely, his eyes wide and innocent.  “Please forgive me. My sincere thoughts must have bruised your pride, Miss Gr-"  “Oh, as if pride were such a foreign concept to you!” she snapped and stormed off, leaving him behind, quite amused.
