Things to Do with Plushies that aren’t Traditional Pretend Play

If you regress/dream to an older age range, you might not play pretend as often, if at all. That said, there’s no reason why you still can’t enjoy your plushies’ company.

Cuddle them as you go to sleep. This one is pretty obvious, but I think it deserves a place on this list.

Make them little Kandi collars with their name in letter beads. You can make a matching bracelet or necklace for yourself too!

On that note, sew clothes for them and dress them up. This one might require some supervision because of the pins and needles, but it’s usually worth it.

Set them up so that they look like they’re doing the same activity as you are. (Putting a controller in front of them if you’re gaming, pretending to feed them bits of your meal, setting them up in front of the TV so they can enjoy the programs with you, etc) This one veers into pretend play, but it’s not as involved so I figured I’d include it.

Put them into your purse/backpack/bag so they can keep you company on your errands or other trips you take.

Set them up in nature or around the house and take photos of them. You can even scrapbook with the photos.

If they are sturdy enough, give them a bubble bath and then either stick them in a pillowcase and put it in the dryer, or air dry them in the sun. This is good for bonding with them, and general maintenance to keep them clean.

Write about them. You can make little character profiles for them, or even full stories! This is good if you have a hard time playing pretend but you still want to feature them in imaginative contexts.

Draw/paint pictures of them and hang them on your wall!

Finally, if this is something you’re up for, set up a side blog for your favorite plushie and document their life online. Make blog posts from their perspective, have them take “selfies” etc!

Wafaa's old blog got shadowbanned, and its just yet another example of how far tumblr will go to silence palestinians when theyre already struggling to get by because of illness, starvation and the constant violence. It should alarm you just how frequent this is becoming with palestinian bloggers having to remake 3-4 times when theyre already living through the worst things imaginable.

If you don't know who she is, Wafaa Alnhal is a woman in her 40s who had left for Egypt a little after the occupation attacked for medical treatment. She has since been working hard to spread her campaign and evacuate her family who she had to leave behind in Gaza, despite her own ongoing struggle with her health issues and making rent.

Initially her goal for her gfm had been 35k, but recently she's had to raise it to 50k because her daughter has gotten hepatitis from the polluted water in Gaza. Her family is suffering- all 15 of them including 4 young children and a newborn baby- and they will have to live with the damage for the rest of their lives. It's taking its toll on Wafaa too, who's had to neglect her own health and wellbeing to raise funds for them.

She's made a new blog @wafs-posts and you all should follow her there to get updates from her on the situation directly. You should be listening to her instead of hearing this from me.

Does anyone else feel like this?? I really need some support or some kind words.

I feel bad for keeping my regression a secret from my immediate family. I get overcome with guilt. But i also know that if i told them id get berated and shut down, so ill never even remotely think about telling them seriously.

The last time my mum found a paci of mine, it's because she went through my entire room on a rampage and threw half of my stuff out (not just agere stuff, my big stuff too... so she found my paci). She was yelling at me and didn't give me a chance to explain myself at all. And she banned me from wifi for that and other things. I've been banned from the wifi ever since.

I dont know if my guilt of keeping it a secret comes from the fact i feel like im doing something wrong, because ill never be accepted for my regression or even for myself in general... i dont know but it makes me miserable and guilty.

This happened in early january this year. It's been 6 months.

Im almost an adult and i still feel like i have no choice over anything that my mum doesn't like.

Its really hurting me and making me struggle in my regression, each time i regress i just end up shutting down and crying rather than anything else.

And my regression is getting out of hand in the sense when i shut down i feel so much younger and even more vulnerable. And consequently i now have the want to wear diaper-aligned things or rompers too because they sound so comforting for me in my regression.

I dont know if regression can change like that? Because at first i didnt want any of that, at first it was for fun, but now im regressing purposely to supposedly de-stress - even tho thats not quite the outcome sometimes.

But that change terrifies me, because my mum said something specific about me using diapers next, alongside some awful things about me being a baby. I dont want to prove my mum right. Im sick of feeling like this, im sick of it.

Im coming to hate my regression.

So yeah, thats that.

I want my grandad to take me to the park, i want him to push me on the swing super high until i feel like i might fall off :(

I want him to surprise me with a new teddy and a bar of chocolate when he comes to visit, like he sometimes does regardless that im getting older

He surprised me with this teddy and said this is him and me, and it made me feel super small and happy, I gave him a huge hug that day! I always like to hug the teddy when im sad

I miss my grandad. I can't wait until he visits again! I love my grandad
