The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is Here
Toyota has announced the 2024 Toyota GR lineup – and we’re so excited to show you one of our favorites on the lineup. The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition is all the buzz in the sportscar community, and one of the main reasons is that it commemorates the Toyota AE86’s 40th anniversary. Since this N Charlotte Toyota sportscar has so many cool features, we will make it simple for you.
Tumblr media
2024 Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition Performance
The 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition comes with an upgraded performance package – that comes in both manual and automatic transmissions. You’ll be able to add this performance package to your 2023/2022 Toyota GR86, so don’t worry if you’re not able to get your hands on this particular N Charlotte Toyota. Let’s get into it.
There will be ZF SACHS Dampers and Brembo brakes that come standard on all models.
These features will enhance the consistency of handling, ride comfort, and brake system.
Automatic and, now, manual transmission models are equipped with Active Safety Suite. The system has features like Pre-Collision Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Plus, this Toyota is super light at 2,811 pounds with the aluminum hood, front fenders, and roof panel – making it one of the lightest sports cars on the market.
The naturally aspirated 2.4-liter FA-24 engine has 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. This makes this N Charlotte Toyota go from 0-60 in just 6.1 seconds for the 6-speed manual transmission and 6.6 seconds for the six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
Finally, you can go into track mode with the push of a button and switch off vehicle stability control.
Tumblr media
What does the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition interior and exterior look like?
As mentioned earlier, this N Charlotte Toyota sportscar is an homage to the Toyota AE86, which is very popular in the anime and manga community because of the anime ‘Initial D’. If you don’t know – although you should – Initial D is about a character named Takumi Fujiwara and his rise to being a downhill racing hero in his Toyota AE86. Since the anime is so well known, the Toyota AE86 has been coined the ‘initial D car’. Now, let’s get into what the modern initial D car will look like when you first take a look:
To start with a bang, it will come with a number plate that marks the 2024 Toyota GR86 TRUENO Edition.
It comes with a black-wrapped hood, black TRUENO Edition side panels, and a black duckbill spoiler.
As a tribute to the 1980s model, this N Charlotte Toyota sports car will have a ‘TRUENO Edition’ badge on the front bumper lip and rear decklid.
Also, other accents this ride will have are black metallic 18-inch, 10-spoke aluminum alloy wheels with black door handles and mirror caps.
This is what you’ll step into:
Ultrasuede sport seats that are trimmed with red leather, a red-stitched shift boot, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
‘TRUENO Edition’ shift knob and all-weather floor mats.
Finally, an 8-inch touchscreen has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Those features are complemented with 8 premium speakers to rock out to on your drive.
Tumblr media
2024 Toyota GR86 Trueno Edition Price
We don’t have the exact MSRP of the 2024 Toyota GR68 TRUENO Edition, but we can guesstimate that it will be around $35k-40k because the 2023 Toyota GR86’s starting price is $28,400. And with all the special features and it being limited, there will be an obvious bump in the price.

Toyota Supra Upgrades: A Guide by Toyota of N Charlotte
Are you looking to upgrade your Supra?
This sports car is already iconic, but there are lots of ways you can customize your ride and make it your own! Our N Charlotte auto care experts are here to talk about Toyota Supra exhaust, turbos, air intake, and more!
Tumblr media
Selecting Your Toyota Supra Exhaust
Which Toyota Supra exhaust you choose should depend on why you want one. Your new Toyota Supra exhaust will make the vehicle louder, more powerful, and it can increase airflow or improve fuel efficiency. Here are some things to look out for when choosing:
When it comes to material, you want to stick with stainless steel or aluminized steel. Stainless steel is resistant to high temperatures, corrosion, and rust, and aluminized steel is just a lighter, cheaper option.
Make sure the piping diameter is not too narrow or too wide. This will affect gas flow and performance.
Ensure that you have the correct model for your car and get the installation done by a mechanic you trust.
Selecting Your Toyota Supra Turbo
Looking to increase the power and torque of your car? A new Toyota Supra turbo may be the perfect upgrade for you. Here are some tips from our N Charlotte Toyota team on choosing your new Toyota Supra Turbo.
Decide what horsepower range you’re aiming for before purchasing a Toyota Supra turbo. Also, ensure your car has the traction to handle the turbo you choose.
Think about the thermodynamics involved with increasing power. You don’t want a turbo that will push the temperature up too high when maximizing forced induction.
Make sure the compressor and turbo you choose can push a lot of air into the engine’s cylinders.
Selecting Your Toyota Supra Air Intake
Similar to Toyota Supra turbos, the Toyota Supra air intake system uses air to create more power in the engine. Below are some things to think about when choosing a new N Charlotte Toyota Supra air intake:
Cold air intakes are better for performance because cold air is more rich in oxygen, which enhances combustion.
There are two types of styles with cold Toyota Supra air intakes (short ram and true).
The short ram requires less fabrication work since you can access the air filter more easily.
The true cold pushes the air as far forward as possible but might require more “plumbing” and fabrication.
You want to choose a Toyota Supra air intake that matches your car model and year. This will ensure easy installation.
You want to go for heat resistant materials. You want it to stay cold in your engine, but also not hot in your air intake system.
Using straight hoses in your Toyota Supra air intake system is more efficient for airflow than curved hoses.
You want to select a weather and water resistant system. Any water that gets inside the system can cause a huge engine failure.

Outer Banks: The Outer Banks are close - Charlotte is about six hours away, so it's a perfect weekend road trip. While there you can explore more than 200 miles of shoreline for swimming, walking, surfing, skimboarding, fishing, and watching the sky change colors at sunrise and sunset. You can also check out where Blackbeard fought his last battle, as well as where the Wright Brothers first took flight.

Ocean City: Ocean City is in Maryland, about an 8-hour road trip from Toyota of N Charlotte. It's famed for its wide, sandy beaches, delicious crab dishes, and an incredible boardwalk that features arcade games, souvenirs, and even an amusement park.
Tumblr media
Hilton Head: Head South to Hilton Head - it's in South Carolina and about four hours from Charlotte. The beaches there are hard-packed so they're perfect for walking, biking, and running. You'll also find boutique hotels and fine dining, as well as spas and golf courses situated around the island.
Tumblr media
Destin: If you want to feel like you're somewhere in the Bahamas, make the 9.5-hour road trip down to Destin, FL. The waters are clear blue, the white sand is sugar-soft, and the fishing and swimming are out of this world. Plus, you'll get a break from the waves in the warm, calm Gulf of Mexico.

What's killing your car battery?
Have you ever had a dead car battery? It can be a stressful situation - even if you can jump your car and avoid a tow, you still might have to shell out for a new car battery. But why does your car battery die in the first place? Toyota of N Charlotte's car care techs are here with answers + ways to keep your car battery in the best shape possible.
Tumblr media
#1: Your car has a parasitic draw. A parasitic draw is when something in your car is drawing power from the battery while the car is off and unable to charge the car battery. This can be - for example - a light left on inside the cabin. The light will slowly drain the car battery until it's dead, leaving you in a bad situation. Be sure to turn all lights off and make sure all doors are closed before you leave your vehicle.
#2: Your battery connections are dirty or loose. Did you know that as you drive, your car battery connections can loosen? They can also become dirty and corroded. In either case, they can interfere with your battery working properly and shorten its life. Be sure to check, tighten, and clean your battery connections regularly, or have our Charlotte auto service techs do it for you.
#3: Your car's alternator is on the fritz. Your car alternator's job is to charge your car battery while the vehicle is running. If it's not working, it can't do its job - which means your car battery isn't being charged, and its life is being shortened. If you suspect any issues with your car alternator, have our Charlotte auto service techs take a look.
#4: The weather around you is extreme. Extreme weather - whether it's hot or cold - can negatively impact your car battery's performance and lifespan. There are precautions you can take - routine maintenance being one of them - so let our Charlotte car care techs give you some tips on how to protect your car battery in extreme weather.
Need a bit of assistance with your car battery, or need to replace it altogether? We can help. Call Toyota of N Charlotte today at (704) 875-9199 and let us get you safely back on the road.

Toyota of N Charlotte's guide to the best cars for dogs
If you're shopping for a new car and trying to ensure your next ride is suitable for four-legged friends, our N Charlotte Toyota dealership can help. Check out this quick guide to choosing the best cars for dogs before you shop.
What you should look for in the best cars for dogs
Tumblr media
Trying to figure out what the best cars for dogs are can be confusing, but here are some characteristics to keep in mind:
It should have a low ground clearance. Whether your dog is going to be jumping into your new Toyota in N Charlotte or you're going to be lifting them in and out, a low ground clearance makes it easier for everyone. (Ground clearance is basically how far off the ground it stands.)
You want a durable interior. Dog nails can ruin SofTex and leather without even meaning to, so look for a durable fabric interior that won't sustain similar damage and then throw seat covers or a hammock over it. This will help prevent grime and other stains.
You should look for a spacious cargo hold (not a trunk or truck bed). You should never put your dog in the trunk of a car or the open bed of a truck. That being said, if you're in the market for a new Toyota SUV at Toyota of N Charlotte and want it to be pet-friendly, look for one with a large cargo area. That way you have space to comfortably restrain your dog OR for them to be in a crate or carrier..
Our top picks when it comes to the best cars for dogs include the Toyota 4Runner, RAV4, Camry, and Highlander. The best news? You can test drive all of them today at Toyota of N Charlotte. Call us at (704) 875-9199 to make it happen!

The most haunted places near Charlotte, NC
Spooky season is over, we know (as much as we refuse to accept it). But that doesn't mean the ghosts have gone into hibernation until next Halloween. There are plenty of haunted places near Charlotte, NC to explore while you wait for Halloween to roll around again, and Toyota of N Charlotte is here with a list of some of our favorites.
Tumblr media
#1: Kennedy's Premium Bar and Grill: Supposedly, this restaurant used to be an old farmhouse and the tenants decided to stick around. Doors open and close by themselves, radios turn on and off, and ghostly apparitions have been spotted in the bathrooms. It's even been visited by paranormal investigators who all agree - yup, it's haunted.
#2: Carolina Theatre: This theatre opened in 1927 and it's a hotspot for paranormal activity. A ghost named Fred haunts its halls; he's harmless, but he does like to turn the lights on and off without warning and sometimes shows himself as a ghostly white apparition standing on the balcony.
#3: Founders Hall: A young girl met her grisly fate here in the 1800s, and her body disappeared. Since then, visitors state that she would wander the halls, crying and screaming. Interestingly enough, even after her body was found and properly laid to rest, she still likes to wander Founders Hall and open and close doors without warning.
#4: Antique Kingdom: This building has served as an all-girls dormitory, a moonshine distillery, and a wedding venue before its current state. Visitors often refuse to go up to the third floor because it's so scary, and the second floor leaves little to be desired. People have reported feeling closed-in, feeling someone's breath on their face, and "feel" like someone is in the room with them. Hard pass!
Ready to get ghost-hunting? We're here for it, and we have the perfect new Toyota to get you where you're going. Stop by Toyota of N Charlotte on your way to find your next paranormal experience! We're just off I-77 at exit 23 in Huntersville at 13429 Statesville Road. and we're open seven days a week until 10pm! Happy ghost hunting.

Are electric cars better for the environment?
Electric cars are becoming all the rage lately. They're eco-friendly, tech-driven, and let's be real - they look pretty cool. However, are they really as good for the environment as they're touted to be? Toyota of N Charlotte is here to explain, as the answer isn't as simple as it seems.
Tumblr media
What it comes down to is emissions - local versus non-local. Here's the basic breakdown of the two:
🟩 Local emissions are the emissions that traditional gasoline-powered cars put out. These cars use internal combustion and thus put out smog-forming emissions. Electric cars don't use internal combustion to power themselves, and therefore don't put out local emissions.
🟩 Non-local emissions are a different story. Electric cars are powered by electricity, right? But that electricity has to be powered by something. And if it's powered by fossil fuels, then your car is technically putting out emissions, albeit not directly.
There's also the issue of electric car batteries. EVs use lithium-ion batteries to power themselves; these types of batteries can't be thrown away in a landfill or recycled in a traditional recycling plant. This leads to an issue of how they can be disposed of as more and more electric cars hit the production line.
Have questions about electric cars? Call Toyota of N Charlotte today. We're open seven days a week at (704) 875-9199 and we're conveniently located just off I-77 at exit 23 in Huntersville at 13429 Statesville Road.

How to find electric car charging stations
If you're the proud owner of an electric car - or you're thinking about putting one in the driveway - it's important to know how you're going to keep it charged up. After all, no one wants to deal with EV range anxiety when they're behind the wheel. Toyota of N Charlotte is here to help with tips on beating EV range anxiety and how to best find a car charging station near you.
Tumblr media
Tip #1: Think about investing in a home charger. This is the simplest solution - you can charge your N Charlotte Toyota every night while you sleep and know that you have a full range ahead of you when you leave the house in the morning.
Tip #2: Download the right apps. There are tons of apps that you can use to located car charging stations near you. Download apps like EVGo, ChargePoint, and PlugShare to easily locate the closest charging stations; you can also do a quick Google search to find a charging station near you.
Tip #3: Know your range and plan your trips. It's easy to check the range in your car - it's displayed in your multi-information display. Having a rough idea of how far you're traveling and the range you have left will help you plan accordingly and feel less anxious about it.
Worst case, you may decide that a fully electric car just isn't for you because you're so worried about being able to keep it charged up and find charging stations. We've got a great compromise at Toyota of N Charlotte - a plug-in hybrid. These eco-friendly cars are capable of running on fully electric power until they run out of range, and then they have a hybrid system in place to take over so you're never left stranded.
Have questions about the N Charlotte Toyota bz4x or any other electric cars? Call us today! We're open seven days a week at (704) 875-9199 and conveniently located just off I-77 at exit 23 in Huntersville.
