I contacted one of my favorite brands, Dusen Dusen, and showed them the test I posted and they’re letting me pull some of their SS16 pieces for my final!
I’ve been a fan of their clothes for a while and I think their colors and patterns go perfectly with my style and the direction I want to go with the gifs. I’m really looking forward to getting to play with the pieces and have some fun new gifs for my fashion portfolio!
To Do:
-pick up clothes at Dusen Dusen tomorrow am
-secure a model for the shoot (Saturday)
-finalize set ideas- what is irl what is composited? how to combine them?
-shoot 16th
-return clothes monday am
-use following 1.5 week for afteraffects

a lil rough draft of what I want to do for my project. I plan to clean it up and shoot more garments and hopefully accessories
I could really use some help/refreshers with:
•masks in key light/the roto brush - it wasn’t working the same way it did in class
•handling spill on white/bright clothing
•how to incorporate real + fake - if i wanted to create a set would i have to take a slate of the set then place the dancing model in ae?
•also how do i upload gifs to tumblr??????? i tried uploading it as a text post and a photo post and neither worked...im just now noticing that my gif from the first assignment barely plays O.o

Project Proposal
I’d like to make a short video/set of gifs of clothes moving/dancing on their own and floating hands coming into frame.
Some of my past and recent work has been inspired by The Dumplings Technicolor Yawn video that I posted previously. The video has a lot of the same elements that I would like to incorporate into my project.
Below is some of my work that has led to me wanting to create this project:
Tumblr media
When I made this photo I had my model move around and dance, I think it could be cool to have a motion piece that hides most of the human figure. Unlike this photo, the set in my project won’t exactly match the garment.
Tumblr media
This was a video that I did set design/prop styling for. I’m not sure how the computer artist did the hand but I think I can create a similar effect using after effects and green screen/keying. I think the backgrounds in my project will look more like this piece
Tumblr media
To isolate the clothes I purchased a green second skin suit and I think I can have the model wear the suit while dancing in the clothes in front of a green seamless and then key it out. For the hands I think I can use green body paint up to the wrist and use keylight.
I’m playing around with these ideas in the studio this weekend to see what will work and will shoot and work in afteraffects on the final project the following two weeks

I love how the patterns cover the model’s face. I love working with anonymity and covering model’s faces in my work

This weeks assignment was once again inspired by the week’s mess. After Rihanna’s album leaked/dropped I’ve been listening to her on repeat all day every since. I made a Rihanna robot featuring her Puma Creepers and her iconic red lips from a photo of her at the 2014 Dior Cruise show.

When I went to render this video and had to pick a filename I realized that my submission for this week’s assignment was subconsciously inspired by the MESS that has occurred this week
