Nostalgia?

Have my instremental skills increased over the course of this project? I would have to say yes to that question. I have much more experience with the different programs and am able to use them more effectively than when i started. Being able to consult online sources is a skill I already had without having to work on it too much to have to increase it. I used the lesson I did to get a bigger awereness of the hasards of using technology in the lesson. The students have to be monitored to use the technology as intended and not for their own entertainment. I also used the lesson to give the students a relevant and interactive lesson they used for their own development as well as an increase in their knowledge of the subject. The lesson is diverse and well designed. Showing my capability to use technology to design and teach a lesson.

Tip or Top?

I felt like technology was truly embraced by the classroom in the tryout lesson. The feedback was great from the students. Mentioning things like how interactive and fun it was. They loved the fact that it was different from their regular lessons. The teacher enjoyed it too. She mentioned the positive points similar to the students. However the teacher did have some comments of sectons of the lesson which seemed to differ from the planning. All in all it was a good lesson that was well received.

Implements Of Creation

The activity has bene implemented and tried thoroughly in a placement school. The lesson ended up as a big succes. The students felt like they went from a zero to a hero. They loved using their devices for once instead of having to discard them at the start of the lesson. Even the teacher was excited about it, giving comments about good use of technology.

Development Time

Our initial idea to do a zero to hero was well received. We took steps to include as much tehnology as possible. We chose to take achapter about technology since it fits perfectly with our initial idea!

A collaboration for the ages!

WOW! After anylising the problem at school, I chose a partner quite quickly! We found a problem to tackle in no time. We had the convenience of covering a chapter about technology. We focused on the task and made a design. After a few rewrites we filmed our pitch to tackle our problem and rise above it! From zero to hero!

What is going on with this?

So you are at a school. Technology is a factor that’s more present than ever. Is it used in teaching though? At this school, they have limited options. There are no smartboards. There is a screen for the beamer to project on. Not all lessons are supported by a technological presentation. So the question here is. Can technology be applied and be considered helpful toward the lessons.

Growth or Fixed?!

Which one of these do you have? I would like to classify my own as a mix of both. Sometimes I just can not help myself thinking in a fixed mindset! is it stubborness? probably! However I do like taking on new challanges and exploring oppertunities to grow and learn from my mistakes. A little of both worlds leads to a healthy rational mindset. Keep TELLing me more!

The Teaching Continues?!

If you thought the blog was over, it has just begun! This week strap yourelf in for some noteworthy information! All based on my very own exciting experience in English teaching with extreme technology! Why extreme?! WHY NOT! You can take it as far as you like. Look at the SAMR model, taking it another step further.

Pupils and other learners of English need to enhance their digital literacy. This is a package entailed in 21st-century skills. However... It doesn’t cover all the skills required. 

As a teacher in such a great workfield with all these handy technological tools at ones’ disposal your options seem infinite! So how do you reach these kids? Keep updated and knowledgeable. Be sure to use the tools with competence!
