About the show: TnT: Igniting the Future showcases songs from four musicals created by the 2017 Jonathan Larson Grant-winning duo Ty Defoe and Tidtaya Sinutoke. Ty ‘n Tidtaya invoke the silenced voices from the land on which we stand: immigrants, Indigenous peoples, women and queer folx! Spanning their award-winning creations to their newest collaborations, TnT honor their culture while telling stories of the warriors of today. Transgender Actors Currently on Broadway (July 2018)

The start of the 2018/19 season has brought three more talented trans performers into the spotlight, bringing the total of current trans actors on Broadway up to four!

Peppermint (Agnes Moore)

A Drag Race favourite, Peppermint has recently become the first openly trans woman to originate a major role on Broadway! She stars as Pythios, the Oracle of Delphi, in new musical Head Over Heels.

Kate Bornstein

Kate Bornstein is a non-binary performer and activist, known for their gender theory-exploring performances. Now she’s on Broadway, playing one of two Persons in Charge, in Straight White Men.

Ty Defoe

Ty Defoe is a Native American (Giizhiig, Ojibwe and Onieda) performance artist and writer who identifies as two-spirit. Ty plays the other Person in Charge in Straight White Men.

Jess Barbagallo

Playwright and actor Jess Barbagallo has played ensemble character Yann Fredericks in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child since the show opened last season. He is also an understudy for the role of Scorpius Malfoy!
