Update: I figured it out, but it took two paragraphs to academically discuss what would have been perfectly summarized by "poor little meow meow." The sorrow of the untranslatable Tumblr term...

I'm writing a theatre review today and I cannot come up with a more perfect term to describe this character than "a poor little meow meow" but I also cannot put this in a real published review. So you see my problem.

(Actually, I guess a secret, ethically-dubious, well-funded operation pushing out an arts organization in Toronto might be the most painfully accurate part of the episode. Which I did enjoy, for the record.)

Neither really means anything; they were just special kind of boops you could do if you waited long enough over the button, and a boop was the April Fools' equivalent of a Facebook "poke," essentially. People were rewarded for booping a lot and also being booped, and everyone went wild. :)
