Obviously the "romantic" vs "platonic" division is a brutality imposed upon all of social life by the family and must be routed out with extreme urgency but it does feel like a lot of aromantic posts on here have the form of "well I've intensely reified my relationship to every other emotion i experience so the fact this is proving so impossible for "romance" means the term must fail to succesfully identify anything at all" instead of like. "romantic" itself refers to a confluence of various disparate factors that we all seem to experience to various degrees. Someone post the foucault quote.
