I still look for you

I still look for you Too many days have gone by, Seasons have changed, Snow to rain, But I still look for you.. I walk along the streets we walked together, once full of chatter but now silent, I stand in the train, we once took together, unable to sit without feeling you next to me. I’ve cleaned my house hundreds of times, the pillows and the sheets, I still can’t fall asleep without smelling you. I know you’re thousands of miles away, But I still look for you... I was naive and young when we first met, Couldn’t really see the red flags, I gave myself up even when I shouldn’tve, Trying to fill a void you never could’ve But I’m older now, and I’ve brought you down from the pedestal of my mind, I’m trying to see you as you actually are, and not the shining knight, With fears and insecurities, guarding his own heart, perhaps once broken, unwilling to again try.

But I still look for you... Knowing deep down in my heart, That I never want to find you.
