The Benihana trick "So I called my Japanese food guy and asked for a Benihana chef to bring in for a potential hand double. The next morning, there were two Japanese guys, me, six dozen eggs, and Mads wanders on to the set and asks 'Ok, What are we doing?' ... I tell him we're doing the Benihana egg trick today, but don't worry because we have these chefs from the Sushi shop, and we're gonna handle it. So Mads asks what he has to do, and I tell him - you throw the egg up in the air, you stick the spatula out, it breaks slightly, you twist your wrist, then the egg falls down into the pan. He says, OK, let me try it....he goes on set, and he actually did it. I accused him of practicing, but that's when he told me he used to be a juggler." Poon says she and the crew were stunned to learn how effortless the move was for Mikkelsen. "I can't believe I worried so much thinking about how we could make it work," says Poon. "He never tried it again until they shot it, and boom he did it, and we all were slack-jawed and happy to move on to the next thing." this didn’t occur to me until i started drinking wine but hannibal drinks a lot of wine. i’m talking like four of five glasses a day whenever we see him indulge, and more often than not without food. either this man is buzzed for half the show or his tolerance is inhumanly high, but that being said i think we as an audience deserved to see him properly drunk at least once.

the last time will was touched by hannibal before hannibal went to prison was when hannibal carried will’s unconscious body home in the snow and changed his clothes, tended his wounds, and tucked him into bed. but the last time hannibal touched him where will was lucid and could most likely remember the contact was after will was shot. hannibal also carried him to safety and tended to his wounds. he leaned into hannibal’s chest and hannibal held the back of his head like he did in mizumono, the other last time hannibal held him.

and then hannibal went to prison for three years and of course they had no physical contact, they didn’t even exchange words. but even at the cliff house, we don’t see them touch. not until the dragon is dead and hannibal helps will to his feet, where will then lays his head on hannibal’s chest again and then pulls them off the cliff so they can be in each others arms for eternity and can spend every last second feeling and not just remembering the other’s touch. their embrace being the last and final memory.
