UFO sightings in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire documented with reports in Scotland on the rise
UFO sightings in Scotland are on the up. UFO Identified, created by ufologist Ash Ellis, collated all the data from Scotland and the UK, with Scotland jumping from 43 sightings up to 52.
Aberdeen and the north-east accounts for five of these mysterious sightings in 2022. Two of these sightings happened in Aberdeen, while the other three all occurred in Peterhead between January and December of last year.
The first sighting was in Peterhead on January 22 just before 7pm, when three lights which formed a triangle shape were spotted in the skies above the Buchan town for around two minutes, before moving behind a cloud and disappearing for good.
The next sighting was spotted above the streets of Aberdeen for around 90 seconds on March 25 at 7pm, when there were reports of a bright ball of light which was stationary before it began to “dance’” and started to move from west to east, becoming dimmer as it travelled. It was back to Peterhead for the next sighting in the north-east for the first daytime sighting in this list.
On July 10 just before 3pm, a “glowing white object” was seen hovering above the town for around three minutes, which appeared to be motionless at first before speeding up and moving out of view, with the object reported to be in an orb shape.
Another summer report came next, this time back above the city of Aberdeen on August 18, when a rectangular green object was seen for around three seconds, with those who saw the UFO claiming there was a green aura or haze coming from it.
The final sighting of the year was back in Peterhead at 7.43am on December 12, after reports of a low and bright light in the shape of a star. It began to dim before changing direction and heading off towards the North Sea, lasting around five minutes.
