On the Origin and Nature of the Mysteries, Part 2
According to what the current Mysteries believe, Uranus was the "primordial Mystery" that arose from the collective consciousness of life as it appeared and began to spread throughout the Universe, a being of pure Masculine energy. Gaia is the living spirit of the Planet Earth itself, pure Feminine energy.  It's Uranus and Gaia's different natures that sort of "set" what Masculine energy and Feminine energy were going to be.
When the first third-generation Mysteries were born, Uranus was already gone; their father Cronus would tell them that Uranus had discovered (or possibly created) the Triskaidekatheon within the 13th dimension and had forcibly mated with Gaia to create the 12 other beings who would inhabit it with him, while he himself inhabited Node XIII.  But Gaia asked Cronus to slay Uranus, and he attempted to - tearing off a piece of Uranus' Masculine energy (often called "his testicles" though this is inaccurate) which fell to Earth and combined with Gaia's Feminine energy once more to unintentionally create the thirteenth second-generation Mystery, a Feminine Mystery now called Aphrodite.
Uranus left Earth, never to be seen again, though it's believed he still exists.  His last words to his son Cronus were simply "You will be overthrown by your own child as I was."  Gaia does still exist as well; the Mysteries consider themselves Gaia's protector, and they believe that if Gaia is lost, so will be the Mysteries. The "Underworld" exists within a dimension created by and a part of Gaia, so Hades is the only Mystery who communicates with her.
By the time of Hestia's birth, Aphrodite was an adolescent, inhabiting the Node XIII that once belonged to her father, and Cronus was the undisputed ruler of an Earth of microscopic life and a carbon dioxide atmosphere.
With his father's warning of overthrow still in his mind, whenever Rhea gave birth to one of Cronus' children, he immediately imprisoned all of their immense energy within Node I with himself.
Rhea hid her sixth child, Zeus, away from Cronus, and Aphrodite betrayed the rest of the 2nd Generation Mysteries, allowed Zeus to enter her Node XIII in her place, and from there he was able to confront his father in Node I.  Virtually all of the Titanomachy took place within the Triskaidekatheon, with the newly freed 3rd Generation Mysteries using their powers to change the balance of life and power on Earth over millions of years.  Their trump card was oxygen.  By causing photosynthesis to evolve, the 3GMs increased the concentration of oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere and seas, poisoning the single-celled life from which the 2GMs drew most of their power.  And the six 3GMs plus Aphrodite won.

On the Origin and Nature of the Mysteries
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a human-comprehensible image of what the Triskaidekatheon look like that I made in Photoshop.  This is about as close as I can come to recreating the image they keep showing me.  The roman numerals in the second one are reversed because apparently you have to do that, because you can only see the nodes when looking from the point of view of Node 1 and they’re invisible from any other direction?  Sometimes the Mysteries try to explain thirteenth-dimensional concepts to me and you know that meme where the woman looks confused as calculations fly all around her?  It sounds kind of like how that looks.
Regardless, I’m gonna try and do my best to explain what I understand the Mysteries to be.
Each Mystery exists entirely inside one of these tiny "quantum balls" that exist at the points at which the different vertexes exist within the thirteenth dimension, and those are the "nodes."
But they can still manifest physical forms in the third dimension if they want to.
Each "node" has associated "domains."  And domains aren't static, sometimes a domain can be in one node and move to another node if a Mystery wants that domain enough?
For example, Demeter (#IV)'s domain is the general domain of the “Earth.”  So she can do pretty much anything with the Earth.  She can’t change the laws of nature anymore because now Humans are paying attention, but she did write the laws of nature and she can get creative about interpreting them.
But Artemis (#VIII) has a subdomain of “Earth,” which is “The Wild.”  Artemis has power over wild plants and animals (Demeter reserves specific domain over agricultural plants and animals).  So Artemis can mess with evolution, cause mutation, send hormones and neuroreceptors through the animal’s system, affecting its instincts and reactions. (Though she apparently cannot affect in any way an animal’s instinct to survive at any costs.)  Demeter can still affect wild animals too if she wants to, since Demeter controls the “main” domain of “Earth.”
Dionysus, #XII, has several even more specific subdomains of “Earth”, such as grapes, mushrooms, cannabis, and cactus.
This means Dionysus can make grapes and weed grow anywhere.
But he doesn't, because that would be a seveeeere breach of the ... whole "We can't let people know there are actually Gods" thing.  Ok, let me try to explain that.
So Mysteries do not age and do not get disease, but they can be - and have been - killed through violent means (i.e. war or execution).  It is theoretically possible for Humans to destroy a Mystery, though no Human has ever been known to possess the incomprehensible amount of power necessary to do so.  As a general rule, only a Mystery can kill a Mystery. Zeus entering Node I and overpowering his father?  That actually happened.   It was quite early in the development of life on Earth, but yeah.  So all of the Mysteries that exist today are third or higher generation Mysteries.  And even they don’t know exactly where they came from.  Since the Mysteries seemed to be so tied to the power of life on Earth, they believe that Mysteries are something that just “happens” whenever life develops on a planet.
So the Mysteries get their power from life.  Whenever an living thing does something that “registers” with a Mysteries’ domain, and thus his/her node, power is transferred from the living thing to the Mystery.  “Spiritual Power” is something else I can’t really explain perfectly.  Each living thing continually generates it, and it’s kind of like the Asian concept of “Chi.”  So usually I just call it “Chi.”  When an animal hunts and kills another, Artemis gains power.  When an animal mates, Aphrodite gains power.    When they reproduce, that “Chi” goes to Hera and Demeter.
So millions of years ago, an asteroid hit the Earth and wiped out a gigantic mess of the population, most well known being the dinosaurs.  And the Mysteries realized they needed to get powerful enough to stop this from happening again, since apparently if the Planet dies, so do the Mysteries.  Also it’s not like they  DIDN’T just want to be more powerful.   So they came up with an idea - what if there were an animal that produced a *ton* of Chi, AND had the intelligence needed to offer Chi at will?
So they messed with the evolution of mammals, caused some mutations here and there, and nature worked out the rest over millions of years.
But the Mysteries drastically underestimated how willful an intelligent being would be.  So they manifested forms and started ruling the Humans directly in the 3rd dimension.  It took them a while to figure out that it was best if they just looked like humans instead of like... animals.  Or Really Big Talking animals.  Or People with animal heads.  Or occasionally just really crazy shit like fire. They always kinda "knew" that they'd unleashed a can of worms that wasn't going to be going back in the can anytime soon.  And they knew they had to at least be Kinda Hands Off or else the Humans would literally rebel and try and kill them or die in hopeless despair believing they had no agency.  But the Mysteries would often appeared before kings and prophets and such.  Occasionally the stray random person.  Really, anytime they needed to speak to Humans, they did. Until the Trojan War. The rules the Mysteries enacted among themselves after the Trojan War included a ban on leaving any evidence the Mysteries exist that can be detected by Humans, a ban on speaking to or procreating with Humans... stuff like that.

On the Abrahamic Religions
So I’m sure one of the first things I’m gonna be asked is “Where does Jesus fit in to Universal Polytheism?” Well, to talk about Christians, first you’ve got to talk about Jews.
The god of the Hebrews is known by the name of Yah’weh, and this God is the same Mystery that was known to the Greeks as Dionysus.  Yeah, THAT Dionysus.  The drunken party wine god.  Ok, first off, the perception the Greeks had of him was kiiinda off, and second off, if you think that’s crazy, ask yourself if you’ve ever seen a Jewish ceremony that doesn’t involve wine.  Dionysus is the one who wrote the tablets for Moses, who did all the Egyptian Plague stuff (though the Plagues are a hell of a story I’ve gotta write down sometime - Dionysus got like ALL the Mysteries’ help for that one). Yeshua of Nazareth, known to us in English as Jesus, represented a breach in the “Stop Having Children With Humans” rule.  Jesus was one in a looooong line of Zeus’ out of wedlock children.  The “angel” who came down to the Jewish girl Miriyam (who, incidentally, was only 14 at the time) was just Zeus, and that thing described in the Bible as “being filled with the holy spirit?” Yeah.
So first, we’ve got one of Zeus’ kids getting caught up in the anti-Roman sentiment of 1st century Israel, and then later, after his death, used as a rallying point by Jewish revolutionaries and deified.
Then, a couple hundred years later, when Constantine switched the Roman Empire over to Christianity, something interesting happened.  Now, I’m gonna try and describe the way Dionysus said it works the best I can. When the Roman People were forced, at effectively swordpoint, to renounce their religion and follow this Middle-Eastern cult that was pretty much seen as irrelevant at best and a nuisance at worst, the best way they, with their cultural reference points, could do this was to just stop worshiping all the gods but Zeus.  At this point, the God of the Christian religion changed from being Dionysus to being Zeus.  The image of God in the minds of the people was that of Zeus.  The word “deus,” which previously was only used to refer to Zeus, was used to refer to the Christian God as well.  And thus, only Zeus gained the benefit of the peoples’ prayers. Dejected by this, a few hundred years later, a fairly drunk Dionysus stumbles upon a Middle Eastern merchant who really likes smoking marijuana.  And Dionysus sits down with the guy, says “Yeah, I’m the Archangel Gabriel” and just starts yammering about how pissed he is about *everything,* and a friendship is born and the merchant starts writing down all the stuff Dionysus says and yeah you can probably tell that I’m talking about Muhammad.  Tho by this time, the image of Zeus-as-God was far too ingrained in all places that were once influenced by the Roman Empire, and the nascent Muslims’ view of “Allah” again became that of Zeus.  Then Muhammad’s two kids started a huge schism that still exists today.  Then the Muslims just started *epically* slaughtering and conquering everything.  Then the Muslims became the first culture worldwide to ban marijuana and Dionysus just gave up.
Oh, to tie this back to Jews, most Jews, being culturally European at this point, share that same image of Zeus-as-God, but some Orthodox sects of the Jewish religion rebuilt after World War II have managed to move back toward their original worship of Dionysus.

On Eurocentrism and the Trojan War
When I say "The Earth Mother IS Demeter" or "Ra IS Apollo," for the purposes of general communication, that's not perfectly accurate and it does sound very eurocentric.
The more accurate way to say it would be to say, "This Mystery, which the people of North Africa knew as 'Ra,' is the same entity which we, as cultural descendants of Europe, would know as 'Apollo.'"  Universal Polytheism, by its very name, is not meant to be at all eurocentric.  But an important part of religion is communication.  One of the principal tenets of Universal Polytheism is that religion itself is simply humanity's attempt to explain something that is entirely beyond human comprehension, and such an explanation will always be hampered by the limits of human language and influenced by the window of human culture.  People will always need things explained to them in words they can understand, or else they will simply turn a deaf ear.  Hence why it was such a turning point in the Christian religion when the Bible came to be translated into languages outside of Latin, bringing the Scriptures out of the protected cloister of clergy and scholardom and into the general public.
So while Universal Polytheism is in no way eurocentric, it will be necessary, and I apologize for this, to adopt eurocentric language at times in order to increase the general understandability of the core message, as the vast majority of us are descendants of European culture.  Certainly I, the writer, am *far* more familiar with European culture than with other cultures, so perhaps the eurocentric language is something I need to use to explain some of these crazy things to myself, if that makes sense.
Hence why I have given the names of the Mysteries the names of their counterparts in the Ancient Greek religion.  Ancient Greece was the last era in which the Mysteries overtly interacted with humans, so much of our perception of them is "frozen," for lack of a better word, in the same way Europeans have perceived them for the last several millennia.
The time of Ancient Greece, around roughly the 11th-13th century BCE, was to be the Mysteries' utopia, when they ruled openly as Gods and Goddesses over the people below, who worshipped and rightly feared them.
This utopia ended when the Mysteries themselves pretty much entirely caused the Trojan War, the most brutal and deadly conflict in all of history at the time.  Y'all know the story of how Eris, the goddess of Chaos, as revenge for not being invited to a party, threw a golden apple into the middle of the party crowd with "To the fairest" written on it, and Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera all started fighting over it, and they went to Paris of Troy for judgement, and Aphrodite wins by promising Paris the hand of Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, who is married to the King of Sparta, which causes Everything To Hit The Fan.
So here's the first thing:  Eris, when this happened, was only 10 years old.
Myth calls Eris the daughter of Zeus and Hera, but that's not right; she was one of Zeus' MANY half-God children, the mother being a Trojan courtesan whose name has been lost.  During these days, it really wasn't at all uncommon for the Mysteries to proposition and procreate with human partners.
The party Eris wasn't invited to was a gathering that Paris of Troy himself was holding at his palace, to which all the Gods and Goddesses were invited.  It also wasn't uncommon in those days for the Mysteries to fraternize with human royalty.  Eris, of course, wanted to go to the party too, but she was far too young and was sent to bed.
Here's the second thing: The reason Eris wanted to *go* to the party is because *she had a little girl's crush on Paris.*  The apple, with "To the fairest" on it, *was meant for him.*  And Eris tossed the apple into the crowd, far too shy to ever communicate her feelings to Paris herself, and, naturally, the three Goddesses who find it assume it *must* be a present for one of them.
Here's the third thing: By this time, Aphrodite, Athena, and Hera were all drunker than a barrel of pickled monkeys.  Nobody *actually* expected Aphrodite to zoop over to Sparta and pluck Helen right out of Menelaus' bed and say "Here you go!" to Prince Paris of Troy.  It was a joke; a drunken whim that got out of hand.
And it caused the deaths of *millions.*  Nearly 10% of the world's population at the time died in the Trojan War.  The conflict spread, causing chaos and the total destruction of the vast majority of the society that the Mysteries had built around the Aegean Sea.
And looking at the utter carnage that they'd caused, the Mysteries realized that they needed to step back and rule things more... subtly.  To quote Futurama, "You've got to use a light touch; if you do it right, people won't be sure you did anything at all."
No more ruling openly, no more interacting directly with humans, *definitely* no more having children with humans (though that rule's been broken more than once).

So quick explanation.  I’m kinda spiritually sensitive, and in the past year that I’ve been pretty much constantly smoking weed, that sensitivity has ramped up to eleven and now Dionysus (and occasionally Hermes) are directly communicating with me and I’m actually sort of freaked out about that. ...I absolutely know that sounds like “marijuana has set off my long-latent predisposition to schizophrenia.”  But that’s what’s happening, you can believe me or not.  I wouldn’t be surprised to learn I AM crazy, but for now, I am going to operate on the assumption that I am NOT crazy and that Dionysus is actually speaking to me.  Wow, typing that out made me realize just how crazy that sounds. It makes sense tho, because it turns out Dionysus actually *created* marijuana, hence why it’s native to the Middle East, ‘cause that’s where Dionysus made most of his ‘territory.’
Yeah, I’ve got a lot I have to tell you.  It’ll come as I can get it all written down.
