Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.
That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

"High King" is an interchangeable title, and it purely means "strongest infinite realms being at this particular point in time". It is also a test to determine new Ancients.
Whoever can defeat the previous High King gains the empty title, but more importantly they have their domain as an Ancient determined. The Infinite Realms, sapient and older than time and existence, monitors how the fight went down, and assigns a domain.
For Pariah Dark, who laid bloody siege to gain the title, it is Destruction.
For Danny?
It is, surprisingly, not Heroism. It's not Protection.
It's Thieves.
As far as the Infinite Realms are concerned, he started the battle by stealing supplies, and ended it stealing back Amity Park to the Living Realm.
Danny Phantom is the High King of the Infinite Realms, the Infant Ancient of Thieves.
This gives him a few perks none of the other High Kings had, namely the biggest and most important one; as the Ancient of Thieves, there are, quite literally, no sigils, cages, or traps that can detain him.
So evading the GIW is a breeze now, as is not getting caught by his parents.
The annoying part is constantly having to prove this to delusional cultists when he's summoned.
~~~~~~
John Constantine, who is well aware that the title of High King changed hands and is also aware that the newest Ancient is the Ancient of Thieves, is betting on being able to convince the strange Ancient to steal him.
Because Constantine is trapped in a room with walls that are literally closing in, it's filling with water, and any potential exit is enchanted by demons to prevent him from leaving.
He really, really pissed them off this time.
But, he thinks as the Ancient of Thieves appears before him, they forgot to set the enchantments to stop him from bringing someone in.
Danny has quite a few unique abilities, and they all help him not to die...permanently. He decides to use this to his advantage.
Ghosts in the Zone who died violent deaths, who were murdered, need their murderers brought to justice.
Usually, it's due to a lack of evidence that they aren't.
So Danny uses himself as bait to get the evidence required, letting the murderer "kill" him as an unidentified John Doe, and then disappears from the morgue after the autopsy (turns out that while autopsy's sting a bit, it's like getting a few cavities drilled; if he's patient and doesn't fall asleep, it's over before he knows it, and he's free to go).
Danny is letting a corrupt cop "kill" him this time, but it's a bit more violent than he intended, because in the middle of the cop's speech one of the local vigilantes showed up.
The cop panicked.
The cop went outside of their MO and stabbed Danny in the chest.
Now Danny has a vigilante ignoring the cop, who is getting away, in favor of trying to save Danny.
"It's fine, stop," Danny groans, trying to ignore the blood coming up his throat. Gross, he hates this part, ew. "I'm already dead."
Naturally, hearing him say this does not help the vigilante calm down.
Phantom the new rogue in gotham.
Gotham's new rogue started out during Gotham's museum new night theme space area that started at 9pm. Unfortunately, close due to the repaired need to be done instead of opening today as Bruce and his fam were with them, along with other people, sadly disappointed. (The bats had to fight two rogues who ruined the space part of the museum the previous night for attempt stealing a priceless artifact from there)
The group were in the museum garden when out of nowhere, the doors were close shut with glowing green chains, locking the garden area of the museum became ice cold.
Was it Mr. Freeze? No he was at the other side of Gotham city.
The culprit was a very tall, long white-haired androgynous person in an ancient looking uniform with six glowing green eyes, pointy ears and sharpen teeths, four arms pulling out a comedically large machine from the sparkling starlight that was his gravity defying robe.
"I had enough of this city, no stars in the sky, not even a single gleam of fresh air in sight, and now the space area of museum is closed down for repairs! I destroy the accursed clouds the dare block my views!"
"Gotham city can thank me, Phantom later!" The being named Phantom said before any of the Bats could distract the obvious new rogue for some of them to escape. The being pressed the button, causing the machine to shift, literally draining the city electric power, turning a ray toward the darken clouds, glowing an ominous lararus Pit green color blasting straight toward the sky as people started panic and scream.
The entire smog clouds that were covering black out Gotham city were being filled and coated over by Lararus Pit green glow before suddenly it was shrinking, along with the clouds and the smog...
30 seconds in in, the dark sky clear of the clouds completely the night sky full of stars, the moon was full and beautiful. Bruce immediately looked down to where the rogue was only to find him gone, along with the machine.
People were staring in awe at the night sky.
The bats would have no clue what had happen as day break in the next day, gotham city having a clear sky day with not a tiny bit of smog out beside a powder white cloud here and there.
Cass is typing in chat with the other robins.
Tall Danny because we don't get enough of it.
Puberty hit him like a god Damn Steam roller because he was getting taller than everyone in Amity Park after summer break along with Clockwork lessons. Mom and Dad accepted that he was half ghost and now cooperated with the ghost on their theories that they had to redo with each answer to old questions fixed after the Ecto Act was Disband by The Justice league, mainly because Martian manhunter got caught one time by the GIW.
Frostbite did say that his space and protection core may have a play onto this since his living body was mimicking the growing with his ghostly form so it won't be harder to shift between the two.
That the height of his body was growing at a rate that was defying the law of gravity at 10'6 feet that he had to get his clothes and shoes customized by the Ghost Seamstress. His hair was longer than rapunzel in that movie, but he wasn't allowed to cut it since Ellen liked to burrow herself in it cause it felt like what cloud should be.
Mom and Jazz helped braid it into a lovely yet masculine style so it didn't get in the way of his ghostly spars with the rogues, even ember giving him tips on how to wash it. His nails had turned black and was strong enough to cut titanium like melted butter. His blue eyes had darkened and morph that Dad told him that he was seeing the big bang being born in his eyes.
Tucker jokingly said he could easily win the tallest guiness award. Sam called him a beanstalk, but considering that both of them were going through the same issue as him.
Sam was growing lavander in her hair and diving into researching plant life, even making a hybrid cannibalistic plant that eats pesty weeds and produces a much more vegan yet nutritious milk that was safe enough babies to drink that actually got an approval from thousands of mothers who couldn't pay for formula.
Tucker got into university for technology even though he is currently the mayor of Amity Park with an intense hobby of being an Egyptologist.
Wearing supposedly 'duplicated' Gold relics in his braided hair, taking forever in the bathroom to tune up his eyeliner makeup (it not makeup Danny!) , having clothes full of egyptian modern clothes and the obsessive mixing together technology and Egyptian coding into his latest Frankenstein cellphone creation.
Danny can ignore the gaping stares as he sits in the subway to Gotham University.
He knew he was tall. He already got into Gotham thanks to Lady Gotham dropping him off near a library where Ellen was chewing on a rainbow sour worm.
Ellen immediately dived into his hair like a train diver again after noticing him while complaining about how Lady Gotham won't let her leave the city at all cause she saw that Ellen was Danny's mirror core.
She did mention a burger place called bat burger that a rated 3rd place in the best burger, beside Nasty burger on top 1st and Lunch lady's speical Wednesday burger surprise 2nd, while a nice lady in a wheel chair in the library behind her gave her sour worms.
DPxDC #32
Danny, Sam, and Tucker are on the outskirts of town, waiting for Jack to reveal what he dragged the kids out here to show them. A giant structure is covered by a tarp.
"Hey Dad, whatcha make this time?"
"Danno, my boy, this is," dramatically ripping off the tarp, "The Fenton Trebuchet. It automatically sends out a net to catch the ghost. Fire this bad boy and we'll knock any ghost outta the sky." Jack hits the lever, very excited. Nothing happens; it doesn't even move. "Sigh, another failed invention."
"Oh no, that's too bad, Dad, maybe next time," Danny says while thinking back to the other night when he sabotaged it.
Jack dejectedly drove back to the house, leaving the trio behind. Danny, Sam, and Tucker get very excited. A giant trebuchet the size of Fenton works, and no supervision.
The trio stares at the trebuchet with matching grins.
"Dibs," Danny calls. He quickly fixes what he sabotaged and hurries into the sling. "3, 2, 1 fire," Sam yells as Tucker releases the lever, and Danny gets launched.
An involuntary scream turns to laughter as he flies. Quickly switching to ghost form before he completes his arc right into the ground.
Sam gets launched. Laughing the whole way until Danny catches her. Quickly going back to allow Tucker his turn.
Tucker records and uploads their shenanigans to his blog, where immediately Wes Weston sees it and gets the rest of their year group to join. A chance to go "flying" and be caught by their favorite hero, even the A-listers join.
A good system gets going. Allowing Danny ample time to catch and release people, but gets interrupted by a sleek black plane.
-
"Red Robin I know you're mad at Batman but I think stealing the Batplan and hiding out in the Cave isn't the best plan." Conner says while lounging in the passenger seat.
"Well then B shouldn't have been such an idiot with my case which he completely ruined by BLAH BLAH BLAH and further more BLAH BLA-"
PING, the radar goes off. As quick as it came, it was gone. A moment goes by, and it happens again. Tim directs the plane in the direction of the unknown object. Tim and Conner look at each other, at the radar, then out the window, hoping that the other understands what they are seeing.
A person shooting through the air, making silly poses as they go, only to get quickly caught by a glowing, flying teen. Soon followed by another person being sent flying.
Very concerned, Tim gets closer, dropping the cloaking, and into the line of sight of the glowing flying person.
"STOP FIRING! PLANE!" Yells the glowing teenager as he catches a little girl. The little girl in his arms giggles. "To the person flying, please move out of the way or land and join in." The glowing teen says before flying down to where a very large gathering of teens and kids awaits. They are standing around a very large glowing green trebuchet.
Tim quickly seems to understand what's happening. However, the glowing flying teenager is of high interest, so he quickly lands the plane for answers.
-
A hush falls over the crowd when the plane lands, and out walks Red Robin and Superboy. Tucker looks like he's gonna pass out about meeting his second favorite vigilante, Red Robin. (Oracle, of course, is his #1.)
Danny, Sam, and Tucker greet the duo. A quick introduction and a conversation occur, where the duo gets some of their initial questions answered. Enough information was shared that Red Robin decided he wanted to be launched.
RR gets launched and caught by Superboy. After, RR starts to mingle and gather more information from the crowd. Everyone starts to take pictures with him, and they are very open to answering his questions.
Superboy and Danny end up chatting while they are on catch-and-release duty. The conversation is sort of awkward. Both of them are in a gay panic over the other. Several teens who have been caught get front row seats to the awkward, bad flirting. Sam makes sure to get launched a few times to watch the show.
Ozai is so pathetic, like that “take his bending away haha he’s harmless now” trick would never have worked on Zuko, if you took his bending away he’d just grab his swords and come at you twice as hard, Azula doesn’t have swords or anything but she’s pretty good at hand to hand and amazing at talking her way out of problems, Iroh bust himself out of prison with no bending at all, meanwhile Ozai? Gets his bending taken away and then just collapses, doesn’t even try anymore, then just sits in prison and tries to get into Zuko’s head some more, he could have trained up and tried to break out too! But no! Bet he can’t break steel bars with his bare hands. Bet he can’t kick a steel lever in two. Bet he can’t even do a flip.
Also we never really see him do any really impressive firebending apart from when he has magic comet power, I guesss he shoots some lightning at Zuko, but that’s it and Azula is still better at the lightning thing. Azula has blue flames. Zuko can do firebreakdancing and bend with his swords. Does Ozai, who is not 14 years old, have blue flames? No he doesn’t.
He didn’t even do his coup himself, Ursa had to kill Azulon for him! Could have just challenged Iroh to an Agni Kai for the throne but he didn’t bc he knew he’d lose.
And then he only ruled for like 6 years! He lost a war that had been going on for 100 years bc of a bunch of kids.
Loserlord indeed
"So, I talked to Clark today."
"Hm," Bruce grunts, as the voice of his eldest fills the Batcave. He has a brief idea of what this is about.
"What did you do, Bruce?"
Bruce leans back in his seat. "When Superman first created an account on Twitter, Clark figured it would only be a matter of time before Luthor followed suit. So, he approached me for help. He had the idea of taking up every handle that Luthor could possibly use for himself." He pauses. "I thought it was childish and irresponsible."
"Naturally."
"Nevertheless, I helped him out by developing a program that would generate all possible combinations of usernames involving the words "Lex" and "Luthor." It developed all possible combinations by cross-referencing—"
"I get the jist, thanks."
Bruce grunts. "So we generated the usernames, and Clark used the Batcomputer and his superspeed to create all the accounts. That very night, Luthor created his own account without being able to use 'Lex Luthor' in his name."
Dick whistles, and he can hear another voice whooping in the background. "I see Tim is visiting Bludhaven."
Dick ignores the change in subject. "Wait, is that the day I found the Batcomputer keyboard completely annihilated? Because you and Clark wanted to pull a fast one on Luthor?"
"...There were a lot of usernames."
"Well played, B! I didn't know you had it in you! I apologize for all the times I called you humorless."
"Hm."
"So that's why you and Clark were giggling so much that morning, huh?"
Bruce stills. "I didn't... giggle."
Dick laughs on the other side, while Haley's barks and Tim's laughter filter in from the background. "I heard you, Bruce. I was there."
"At 6 in the morning?"
"Yeah, I wanted to use the bars in the cave, but when I showed up, the both of you were bent over the Batcomputer giggling about something." He chuckles lightly. "I didn't say anything because I knew you wouldn't tell me anyway."
"Hn."
"Oh, chill out. So I saw you being a human being, big deal." Dick sounds exasperated, but Bruce can hear the smile in his voice. He allows himself a small one as well.
"Hm."
"So, was it worth it?"
Bruce thinks about the way Luthor's face had turned red with rage, so red that he could make it out with startling clarity even from the heavily pixelated picture Clark had sent him. The picture, of course, had been taken when he'd gone over to LexCorp as Superman to discreetly spy through Luthor's window and enjoy his reaction in real time.
"It was."
Amidst Dick's snickers, Tim's voice pipes up. "For amateurs, it was a solid prank, Bruce. But I think it's time to take it to the next logical step."
Bruce stops. He takes a moment to think about the millions of possible consequences and ramifications that this could lead to. He considers his options. He comes to a definitive decision.
"I'm listening."
There's an identity broker that's appeared in the shadier parts of Gotham. Supposedly, if someone goes to him, they're guaranteed a new start in life, and no one is able to find them afterwards.
Jason has concerns.
He has concerns because a lot of good people, down on their luck, have gone to this guy, and disappeared off the face of the planet.
He's done recon, he knows this dude isn't killing them, he's watched them walk out of his shop and into a waiting car, and trailed that car to a farm on the outskirts of Gotham.
But when he tries to talk to the people, they're 100% committed to the bit of "new life", claiming they have no idea who he is.
Maybe they don't.
Jason decides to go undercover and pay the guy a visit.
~~~~~~
Jason Nightingale had always loved reading, so much so that when he hit 18 he found himself at a crossroads in life; English major, or professional athlete.
He chose English major, but always kept up the workout routine, perhaps getting into a few accidents and gaining a few scars along the way.
Doing his undergrad in the bad side of town probably wasn't the best idea, but he had a few gunshot scars to show off for it, and it was a story to tell his dates.
Jason is also currently just starting as a Teaching Assistant for one Mr. Lancer at Casper High School in Amity Park, and he is very excited.
Well, right up until he gets home one day and fucking Nightwing of all heroes is waiting for him, asking how long he intends to be undercover.
Undercover?
Him?
"You've got the wrong guy, Nightwing; I'm literally just a Teaching Assistant."
~~~~~~
The Bats have been looking for Jason.
The last anyone heard, he'd gone undercover to investigate an identity broker who promised people a "new life", one that would never be intruded on by their past enemies.
They finally found him after four months, tucked away in Amity Park.
But he doesn't remember them. He's completely convinced that he left Gotham after his mom died, that he's got an MA in English, and that he's a Teaching Assistant.
The memory alteration appears to be...permanent.
The paper trail only helps cement those memories for Jason, and that paper trail is flawless to anyone not a Bat.
They have to find the identity broker. They have to find a way to reverse this.
~~~~~~
Dan has decided to use his second chance at life to do good.
Not saving kittens good, but like. Good for the little people. People who are in shit creek and need a new start at life, just like him.
He partners with Ghostwriter, Spectra (that took work but he's got blackmail on her so she's cooperating), and various lesser ghosts already in Gotham.
He deals with the customers on the front end, puts them to sleep (sometimes they freak out and fight at the last second, but Dan's strong enough to knock them out; it's just last second jitters, they'd thank him if they remembered literally any of it), and then works with the ghosts at his disposal to do what the customer wanted.
Spectra steals the memories they don't want (she has a huge collection of labeled jars of them; there are so many she can't eat them all, so she's working her way through them), Ghostwriter fills in the gaps those memories left behind with a life story the person would want (which Dan monitors like a hawk to make sure he doesn't get carried away), and the volunteer ghosts will possess the customer with the intent of leaving behind knowledge.
They have dead astrophysicists, they have dead college professors, they have dead museum curators; Gotham's got a lot of dead people.
So far, it's working wonders.
Once they customer has been reset, and is still reeling, they're taken to a farmhouse retreat set up by Danny, Dani, and Jazz; after all, they all had to get new identities themselves to run from the GIW, they know the struggle.
Unfortunately, given that they have to act as guard for all these people, they can't use the memory alteration.
Which is a pity cuz there's a lot of shit Dan would love to forget.
But it's a good thing he didn't, he thinks as he stares down the Big Bad Bat, because that means he has his previous life's experience backing him.
Dan squares up to Batman, fully prepared to protect his clients pasts.
