Second batch of Playlists of Usagi Yojimbo Characters, just to make up for my lack of posting. Hope you like them!

Honestly, if someone has any suggestions. Specially for Kenichi and Sasuke, I'd be very grateful. I did what I could with what I found, tho... You know, it could have been better.

I can even say I did Hikiji's Playlist good enough! And that dude appears for less than ten panels in the first seven books!!! Anyway--

Year of the dragon drawing!! Woooo!!!

Depicting the rabbit family in a quest! Or well, more of a mother-son bonding quest. Kenichi and Usagi are just trying to convince them to go home before they get eaten lol

Just had a revelation. We have a lot of strong Samurai women in the comics; Mariko is no exception, tho I couldn't stop myself from imagining... how would have been if she had a backstory like Tomoe or Inazuma's? A daughter of a Samurai that learnt the way of the sword. I bet she would've rocked the part.

And can you imagine if she was also the protector of her village?? I mean like, having Kenichi be the magistrade, but her also having her own troops?? I see potential!!!!

Also, we could have called her and the boys "the three Bunketeers". Lol

I just finished watching Sonic prime and I can just say--GOD DAMMIT SONADOW FANDOM, YOU GOT ME!! THIS IS MY NEW ROMAN EMPIRE!!!!

It's just--there's no way this two were presented to me as rivals and then proceed to have multiple of the most beautiful depictions of affection I've seen in long time!!

The way they look at each other! The way they talk to each other!! Just glorious~ I need Sonic to go look for Shadow after this and give him the smooches he deserves 乀(ˉεˉ乀)

Lately my art hasn't been arting very much. So I spent this two weeks doing a bunch of busts of UY characters to overcome the art block!

I don't know how Sakai does to have so many characters and give spotlight to almost all of them. Respect.

I've been thinking about this for some time now. About the Jotaro being Kenichi's or Usagi's son thing. And as much as I love to see Kenichi being appreciated by the good man he is... Guys, don't neglect Usagi like that, he also deserves to be called Jotaro's dad, and not only because of their blood bond.

First, I want to set clear that I'm with everyone else that thinks Kenichi is the real parental figure of Jotaro. He and Mariko did an excellent job raising that kid. But let's set things clear; 1. The fact that Usagi is Jotaro's father doesn't cancel all the time and experiences Jotaro had with Kenichi. Jotaro has 6-7 years of memories in which he had a good man taking care of him; they love each other and I don't think that would ever change.

2. The circumstances. If Usagi wasn't there to see Jotaro grow and be part of his life, was because Mariko chose not to. A valid choice being the mother of the child, but that left Usagi and Jotaro in ignorance of their relationship for years. And when Jotaro discovered who his biological father was, he just had the understandable wish to get to know him, and be with him. Not because Kenichi wasn't a good dad, but because he is on his right. The right to meet this man that he could have called father.

And 3. Usagi, who also was denied the chance to meet his son and wants to spend time with him too, is also exercising his right as a parent to spend time with his child. And if them both, Usagi and Jotaro, wish to build their relationship from scratch and finally be there for each other, I mean--we have to recognize it and let them have it!!

And that does not mean his kid will be taken away from Kenichi. By all means, he will always be a part of Jotaro. In everything he does, no matter the situation he is in, Jotaro will always carry the teachings of Kenichi fondly in his heart.

But then again, Usagi, even if he in the present time is not "worthy" of being called Jotaro's father properly, the important thing is that he wants to earn that title, and he is willing to do everything he can to be there. They have an entire lifetime ahead to make their bond stronger.

This is not a matter of who did or will do more for Jotaro, who left a bigger mark or who will he look up to when he grows up. It's that both men love this kid, both will be a part of him, and both will protect him at all costs. So I say we call them both Jotaro's Dads and no more "the dad who stepped up" or "the dad who's left out" because, I don't know you, but that makes it sound like a Jim Hawkins (Treasure planet) kind of trope and doesn't make justice to the beautiful construction of a relationship this three actually have.

None of them are bad for what they are doing, nor Kenichi nor Usagi are the villains of each other's story. In the end, we all know it's Mariko's fault, ok no x'd lol. They just do what they can.

You're right. I don't remember in wich of my books, but I read once that a Shugyosha normally ends their training at 16-17 years or so, and if we consider that Usagi was at Mifune's service for little less than a year, he would be like, 19 at most when he sees Kenichi and Mariko again. And if the story in the comics until now it's compiled in 4 years and something, then Usagi would be aprox. 23.

I know he looks a bit haggard, but it's just because life hasn't been kind with him (╥╯^╰╥)

usagi is NOT forty. he’s not even thirty. mr sakai keeps retconning him into being younger in the comic’s canon, and i swear i have the receipts lying around here somewhere

I recognize my only brain cell has been having an internal fight between the Sonic Fandom and Usagi Yojimbo. But I think now they're coming to terms.

I don't know if to be proud of perplexed about this... Anyway! Hi again!!!

YESSS!!! Yes to everything you say and more!!!

The only thing this show has in common with Usagi Yojimbo are the characters names. And they didn't even respect that properly!!

Even when they tried to give the characters a similar background to the originals, they just drop that in following episodes.

The aliens thing if you ask me was a poor way to replicate the formula tmnt uses with the Krang and everything.

I'll die on the hill in wich the show should have been 2D instead of 3D. It just doesn't look well, and by the quality of the animation in the first episodes, I think it definitely would have been a better option.

Also, tho I'm really pissed they didn't include Tomoe. Noriyuki, Sanshobo and others, the most 'Wtf' thing I was presented was Usagi’s Sword... Yeah, sword, because apparently he left Willow branch and young willow I don't know where!! Dude!!! We literally have an arc where he gets almost demon mode because of his swords!!! Where are they!!?!? Aaaaah!!!

guys i please ask y'all to not tag "samurai rabbit the usagi chronicles" or anything related to that show in my usagi yojimbo posts

the tags are already messed up because of leosagi thing and people didn't know to distinguish miyamoto and yuichi

not to mention that i'm definitely not a fan of that show, so pls respect

I've been doing Playlists for Usagi Yojimbo Characters for a while now. The idea was find inspiration for drawings, and with a little bit of luck, get ideas for my own reinterpretation of Usagi's story.

Anyway, I'm really proud of how they turned out so far and wanted to share some of them.

I have more cooking in the background. The plan is to do at least an hour of songs representing any recurrent character or that left an impression.

Usagi Yojimtober Day 31 - Silhouette

Stan did a contest of carved pumpkins this month. I've no talent in that. But I can draw a pumpkin(?)

In other words: I didn't drew a single tokage during the whole month, so, let's give spot and chibi Usagi some spotlight to end this inktober properly.

Usagi Yojimtober Day 29 - Doll

Usagi and Gen went to visit that orphanage Stray dog frequents to say hi to the kids.

It was a surprise when they arrived to see that the children had new dolls, and that one of them was suspiciously familiar.
