hey guys, if you like bnha you should give heroes of the dark by ohmytheon a read. 

the basic premise is that deku has been dead a year. ochako (who was his girlfriend in the fic) and all his other friends and relatives have spent the year mourning but are finally starting to round the corner a little bit. she and bakugo have grown to be close friends (maybe even more?) in their grieving process. 

but then. deku comes back. and he comes back wrong. 

the plot is engaging for all 320k words of it, all of the characters feel in character, there are multiple engaging subplots and the romance is well done but not overwhelming. it has a lot of really fantastic, interesting thoughts about the nature of good and evil, what makes a hero or a villain, culpability, agency, and blame. the characterization of each character feels true to the anime and true to the fic’s internal logic. it is by far my favorite villain deku fic because even at his darkest, you can still see him. it makes it an absolutely heart-wrenching read. 

there’s still one chapter left that hasn’t been posted, so right now is a fantastic time to give it a read!
