“Selina, this is weird.” Robaire looked around uncomfortably. “I don’t know the first thing about wedding dresses. Why didn’t you just bring your dance sisters?”

“I did. We went last week and they were being really annoying.” Selina rolled her eyes. “You think you don’t know anything about wedding dresses, but you’ve got a great fashion sense. Nobody rocks a pair of boots like you do.”

Robaire was quiet for a moment. “You really think I’m a fashionista?”

“Please.” Selina laughed. “Jesse told me about all your wild shopping sprees on tour. Besides, you talk shit about other people’s clothes all the time. You literally did it on our way over here.”

“Oh come on, that guy was wearing socks with sandals and it looked like he’d just slept in that shirt and rolled out of bed.” Robaire crossed his arms defensively. “How can someone go out and not at least look presentable?”

“Exactly why I brought you.” Selina smirked.

Robaire blushed and groaned.

Just then, the consultant approached them. “Hi, are you Selina Cruz?”

“Yup, that’s me.” Selina smiled brightly.

“Great! My name’s Paisley, I’ll be your—” She froze with wide eyes. “A-Are you Robaire? As in Robaire from 4☆TOWN?”

“Well, formerly of 4☆TOWN as of ten days ago.” Robaire reminded her with a charming smile. “I always love meeting my fans.”

“Oh my god, it’s so amazing to meet you.” Paisley started to blush. “I was honestly kinda devastated when I heard about the disbandment. And then elated when I found out you were going solo, I mean WOW you’ve got such an amazing voice.” She started giggling. “A-And then I was devastated again when I found out Jesse was unavailable. Gonna have to let go of that fantasy.”

Robaire’s smile turned awkward. “Oh no.”

“Uh, hi.” Selina waved to get her consultant’s attention. “Remember me? The bride?”

“Oh right, sorry.” Paisley turned back to her. “So do you wanna tell me a little bit about your fiancé? Maybe give me a wedding date?”

“You actually already know my fiancé.” Selina said almost apologetically. “I’m marrying Jesse O’Neill, formerly of 4☆TOWN.”

Paisley stared at her for a moment. She glanced at Robaire as if asking him to confirm.

“Uh, yeah. She’s his fiancé…and the mother of his kids.” Robaire nodded in confirmation.

Paisley looked between him and Selina. She turned red and started to laugh nervously. “I’ll, uh…I’ll be right back. I have to talk to my manager.” She rushed off.

“Well that was extremely awkward.” Robaire noted.

“Yeah, but we’re still off to a better start than my last appointment.” Selina crossed her arms. “They looked at me like I had five heads when I told them I was Jesse’s fiancé. As if he didn’t literally just announce he was getting married.” She rolled her eyes.

“I mean,” Robaire glanced in the direction Paisley ran off in, “I guess you’re not the first person to make that claim.”

Watching Turning Red again and wanna know a detail I can´t get over? In the Nobody like you reprise, when it's mixed with Mei's family chants, Mr. Gao (the guardian) says "sing from the heart" and when 4town signs it super powers the circle. Because they actually love and sign from the heart everytime (yes, it powers up because it makes other people join in and inspire Mei's chants even more) but for me and the discussion about being a fangirl, it was about stablishing the idols (boy band) as something so sincere, they are more than just a form to sell tickets and cds and merch, they love what they do. They sing from the heart.

“You know, I really like hanging out at your place.” Olivia said to Taeyoung as she munched on some chips. “No rules, lots of snacks that no one can stop me from eating, plus I can talk to you about anything, no judgment.”

Taeyoung snorted (in the most charming way possible). “Awww, you’re cute, Squirt.” He patted her head. “I like when you’re over, too, I have a lap to put my legs in.” He said as he crossed his ankles over her lap.

“You’re just a lot easier to be around than my friends at school.” Olivia continued. “All my girl friends talk about now are their boyfriends and sneaking around their parents to be with them.” She scoffed. “And what’s worse is they call me a prude for not being like them.”

“Well that’s uncalled for.” Taeyoung rolled his eyes. “I really hate it when people try to force their own ideas onto others. It’s so annoying.”

“Yeah. And it doesn’t even stop there. When I’m at home, my mom keeps trying to give me “the talk” and every time I mention a boy’s name my dad and brothers go crazy and grill me about him. I haven’t even told Aaron I’m bi yet, I’m scared he’ll start being weird about every name I mention.” Olivia sighed. “It’s just so much easier with you. I don’t have to hide things from you, I can just tell you everything and not worry that you’ll overreact.”

“Are you talking about that lie you told your brother about the sleeping arrangements in Florida?” Taeyoung raised an eyebrow.

“Ugh, it wasn’t a whole lie.” Olivia explained. “Tina and I were roommates most of the time. Besides, nothing happened when we switched rooms. He has nothing to worry about.”

“But you know he’d gather your dad and Elijah and the three of them would hunt that guy down if you told them.” Taeyoung laughed.

“Yeah exactly.” She scoffed. “It’s so annoying how they practically pounce every guy I bring around.”

“They’re just looking out for you, Livvy.” Taeyoung told her. “I gotta be honest, even I’m a little iffy about the guys you hang around.”

“Ugh, not you, too. You can’t do this to me. I mean, you guys have nothing to worry about. Like really nothing, less than nothing. Nothing nothing.” Olivia practically shouted. She looked at Taeyoung and saw his confused expression. She sighed. “Tae…how did you know you didn’t experience attraction to people?”

“Oh, well, I honestly didn’t notice for a while.” Taeyoung shrugged. “I just never really felt that way about people. It wasn’t until I got to middle school and people started asking me who I was interested in and if I was dating that I started to wonder if I should be feeling some way that I just wasn’t. But I went through all of puberty wondering why guys were drooling over girls and why girls giggled at guys. So I just shrugged it off and accepted I wasn’t like that. No biggie.”

Olivia hesitated. “What if maybe you thought you felt a certain kind of attraction but that’s only because you didn’t really understand what it was supposed to feel like? A-And then when something started to happen for real, you got scared and realized you never ever want to do that?”

Taeyoung’s breath hitched. “Olivia, what exactly are you referring to?”

“Well,” Olivia played with her fingers, “remember how I told you I spent one night in my boyfriend’s room? Well, we were alone and he tried to make a move on me. At first, I thought it was just playful flirting but once I connected the dots and figured out what he really wanted, I freaked. I mean, he stopped when I asked him to and he wasn’t mean about it. But the whole rest of the trip and the plane ride home, I couldn’t stop thinking about how scared I was that something might’ve happened between us.” She shook her head. “I never noticed before how uninterested I was in that stuff. I always thought I was just more mature than my peers. But looking back…I just never wanted it. I don’t even really understand it, like why do people feel that way? What does that even mean?”

“Oh, Livvy. You know I have no clue at all either, right?” Taeyoung noted with a smirk. Olivia giggled and he put an arm around her shoulders. “I’m proud of you for figuring yourself out, Livvy. I mean, I’m sorry you had a brush with death, but I’m glad you at least were able to learn something important about yourself.”

“Yeah thanks.” Olivia said quietly. “And thanks for listening to me. I’m glad I have someone to talk to about these things.”

“You can always come to me with stuff like this.” Taeyoung hugged her. “And hey,” he held out a pinky, “welcome to the ace club.”

Olivia smiled and linked her pinky with his. “Thanks. Good to be here.”

“FREEDOM!” Jesse cheered. “I can finally tell everyone I’m going home to my beautiful fiancé and my adorable kids.”

“Oh my god, you’re so lame.” Z laughed at him. “Not half an hour ago you were going on about missing 4☆TOWN and now you’re running off.”

“That was before I had the rush of telling everyone I’m a non-single family man.” Jesse reminded him. “And hey. Now you guys can stop making out in the bathroom every time we go out. So you understand me.”

T and Z both blushed. “Huh?”

“Guys, we don’t have time for this.” Taeyoung tugged on both of their arms. “We have to go pick up Livvy from the airport. We can’t be late.”

“Awww, someone’s excited to see his best friend.” Robaire teased. “Did you miss her or something?”

“OF COURSE I MISSED HER!” Taeyoung yelled with a slight blush in his cheeks. “We didn’t get to hang out before she left because of finals and then there was the dance recital and—” He cut himself off with a groan. “Can we just go now?”

T laughed at his eagerness. “Yeah, we should probably go. We don’t wanna leave her hanging.”

“Alright, fine.” Z rolled his eyes. “We’ll see you guys around.”

“Kay, bye. Love you.” Jesse waved. “Oh, and I’ll text you guys about the wedding stuff soon.” He sighed. “Ugh, I just love the sound of that. I can’t wait for the actual day.”

“I’m really happy for you, Jes. I honestly can’t wait either.” Robaire said with a soft smile. “By the way…are Sean and Danny gonna fight for Best Man? Or are you just gonna let them pick?”

“Actually, we already talked about it.” Jesse admitted quietly. “They both agreed they’re too incompetent and they don’t do well under pressure, so they’re just gonna be groomsmen.”

“Oh. Well that’s cool too.” Robaire shrugged. “You don’t really need one anyway.”

“I didn’t say that.” Jesse shook his head. “I wanted to ask you if you’d be my Best Man.”

Robaire stared at him with stars in his eyes. “You what?”

“Robaire, you’re my best friend.” Jesse put a hand on his shoulder. “In all the time I’ve known you, you’ve done so much for me and my family. I mean, I’ve literally never had a better friend in my life. Plus I obviously already know what a great leader you are.”

“Oh gosh, now I know why Selina cried when you proposed.” Robaire fanned himself teasingly. “I’m so touched.”

Jesse blushed and pushed him away. “I take it back.”

“Ugh, you’re so sensitive.” Robaire rolled his eyes and chuckled. “I’ve been there for you since day one, no way I’m gonna stop now. Of course I’ll be your Best Man.”

“Thanks, man. It means a lot to me.” Jesse smiled. “I wish I could stay and hang but—”

“But you have a family to get home to, I get it.” Robaire nodded. “Go, be free. And say hi to Selina and the kids for me.”

“Will do.” Jesse nodded as he started to back away. “I’ll see you tomorrow though, right?”

“Yeah of course.”

“Neat.” Jesse winked and gave him finger guns. His phone started to ring. “That’s Selina, I gotta go. Love you, bye.” He waved and headed off.

Robaire chuckled to himself. “They really are the perfect couple.” He sighed and headed to his car. Once he got in, he took off his ring and paused to stare at it. “What a wild ride.” He smiled at the memories. “Goodbye 4☆TOWN.”
